We spent half a day with Kaeko Tanigawa taking us to Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples and Nijo castle in Kyoto. She is very nice, customer-oriented and knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history.
To be highly recommended!

Kyoto Private Tour
Kaeko was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and my husband and I had the best time with her during our honeymoon in Kyoto in April! She reached out well before our trip to get to know our interests and carefully planned an itinerary that was perfectly tailored to us—even helping us choose the perfect lunch spot.
Throughout the tour, Kaeko was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and personable. She shared so much history and local insight while making the day feel relaxed and fun. What really stood out was that her expertise extended far beyond our 6-hour tour. She provided countless recommendations for restaurants, attractions, and hidden gems that made the rest of our time in Kyoto even more memorable.

Extraordinary submersion into Japanese history and culture~
What an extraordinary 6 hr ( plus and additional hour) tour of Tokyo with our amazing guide, Mac!
Mac contacted us when we booked our day trip and worked closely with us to develop a custom itinerary that would fulfill all our “must see” destinations.
We started our day at the Tsukiji Outer Fish Market, where we meandered through the narrow alleyways and took in the sights and sounds of the vibrant atmosphere. Of course stopping to taste the delicious seafood and diverse cuisine offerings.
From there we went to the iconic Sensō-ji is Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple, where we passed under the massive iconic red lantern at the Thunder Gate and then meandered along the centuries-old Nakamise shopping street leading to the main hall. 
Lunch stop at a lovely Tempura restaurant ending our excursion at the truly magnificent Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine, nestled in the midst of 70 ha. forest located in the middle of the megacity, Tokyo.
Once you step into this precinct, you will forget that you are in the hustle bustle of the city, and will find Japanese traditional scenery amidst the greenery of nature.
A truly unique and beautiful place where you are transported into a state of calm the moment you cross through the three enormous Tori gates.
A day outing that will not to be soon forgotten!

Exceptional Private Guide – Discovering the Hidden Side of Tokyo
We had the absolute pleasure of exploring Tokyo with MAC as our private guide, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip.

From the very beginning, everything was seamless – communication was easy, responses were quick, and meeting up in such a busy city was completely stress-free. MAC is incredibly organized, attentive, and clearly very experienced navigating Tokyo.

What made this tour stand out was his ability to show us a completely different side of the city. Instead of crowded tourist hotspots, he took us to genuine hidden gems – places we would never have found on our own. One unforgettable highlight was a beautifully preserved, over 100-year-old hidden house with a stunning Zen garden. Despite it being a sunny Sunday, we had the place almost entirely to ourselves.

Another memorable stop was the Institute of Nature & Science, located in what felt like the green heart of Tokyo. Again, it was peaceful and uncrowded – a rare experience in such a vibrant metropolis.

MAC’s recommendations throughout the tour were outstanding. His insights, local knowledge, and thoughtful suggestions made a huge difference. We enjoyed the experience so much that we ended up booking him again at the end of our trip – which says everything.

Beyond his expertise, MAC is a genuinely kind, respectful, and warm person. His calm and friendly Japanese manner made the entire experience feel very personal and relaxed.

If you are looking to discover Tokyo beyond the usual tourist paths and want a guide who truly elevates your experience, we can highly recommend MAC without hesitation.

Highly recommended tour
Excellent friendly guidance from Mac. He greeted us at our hotel in Asakusabashi and helped us navigate the eastern part of the city of Tokyo. An informative tour through the Tsukiji Outer Fish Market (where he found us some sashimi to sample), the Imperial East Gardens, Meiji Jingu Shrine and Shibuya Crossing, an excellent mix of history and culture. Midday we ate a lunch of tempura, again with much needed help from Mac. At the day’s close, Mac even provided us with a preprinted personalized guide for taking the train back to our hotel. Outstanding!

Great way to see Hakone and all its hidden gems. Our guide Sho was very nice and very helpful in navigating and ensuring we had the best experience. We went on the ropeway, owakudani valley, saw Mount Fuji, pirate ship across lake ashi, hakone checkpoint, cedar stree and hakone shrine.

We booked the 6 hour tour of Tokyo with a Government Guide for our first day, to help us ‘acclimatise’ to Tokyo….learn the trains/metro, get tips and ideas etc, plus obviously visit a few highlights. Masa our guide was brilliant, contacting us in advance to find out what we would like to see, then he produced a detailed itinerary for us to review (it was spot on). He kept in touch leading up to the day and led us through a great day. The tour (& Masa) exceeded our expectations

Amazing private tour with Masa!
We had the absolute pleasure of spending two days with Masa san (a 6-hr tour and an 8-hour tour). If you are able to specifically request him as your guide, I highly recommend you do. He went above and beyond to make sure our visit to Tokyo was unforgettable. We corresponded well in advance, and Masa san provided invaluable insight into planning two days’ worth of sightseeing. On the days of our tours, he arrived on time and well prepared, and answered all our questions throughout the tours, whether they were about the sites, local customs, history, or etiquette. He researched alternatives when it rained and called venues on our behalf. He was a tour guide, travel agent, interpreter, and fixer – all in one! Most importantly, Masa san is a delight to spend time with – he’s a great conversationalist, and is extremely thoughtful, kind, and funny!

Moving tour of Hiroshima
Our guide, Harry, met us at our ship and accompanied us to our first stop, the Peace Park. The park and museum experience is a very emotional experience. It became too emotional for several of us and we had to cut this part of the tour short. However, I expressed the view that every international leader should be required to take this tour and someone else passing by added, “often”. Although I couldn’t finish this part of the tour I am not sorry for having taken the tour; perhaps I’ll try again in future. Afterwards we headed to SOGO., a giant department store. I didn’t notice/understand the shopping concierge component of the tour until we started. We decided that we wanted a nice sit-down lunch and the SOGO customer care agent found the precise restaurant to meet our collective tastes. We dined in one of the store’s restaurants in a private room that the concierge was able to get us without prior notice even though it was during the lunch rush. Our guide,Harry, coordinated with the agent throughout, making sure she understood what we were looking for. After lunch the concierge met us again for a shopping tour. There were a few items that we had forgotten to pack and she guided us to the correct floor, the correct department, and coordinated with the sales staff to get the items we needed. Afterwards we headed to the basement level for a tasting tour of their two stories for food court. We were still too full from the lunch we had, but we did a few tastings before we had to beg off. The concierge was disappointed that we didn’t want to try more tastings. Throughout our guide, Harry, was attentive and very adaptable he was very pleasant and easy to work with. I would recommend this tour to everyone visiting Hiroshima and I would recommend Harry as a guide.

Harry was an great and informative guide.
Harry was a great guide . He scheduled us go first to the Hiroshima memorial peace museum before the crowds arrived. We went straight in and it wasn’t crowded. By the time we finished, the line to to get in stretched around the building. We ate close-by and shopped at a mall. Although we planned to to take a ferry to a shrine, we instead headed to Hiroshima Costco where I bought electronics and my wife bought skincare products. This was the advantage of a private tour, there was flexibility in our itinerary as we saw fit. The van took us four and 2 wheelchairs. Overall a great experience.

Riko-san is the best guide!
I originally booked with TripAdvisor, but cancelled it in order to get a longer tour–8 hours instead of 6. Riko-san was our guide, and she was very knowledgeable about the Sendai/Matsushima area and the attractions we visited. She was also flexible with times and at the end of a long day she even shared the location of her favorite sushi restaurant! Riko-san also helped us locate a guide for our izakaya tour. She went above and beyond the definition of service. We’d love to book with her and her izakaya friend, Mai, again!

GO WITH “RIKO” FROM JAPAN GUIDE AGENCY
This is our first time to Japan, and it can be very confusing but we went with Riko from Japan Guide Agency, and this made this the easiest day possible. We came from North Carolina to Tokyo and now our adventure starts in Sendai after our visit in Tokyo. We wanted a guide to help us navigate this area and we were lucky enough to be assigned “Riko” for the half day. The moment we met her my wife and I were thrilled to be spending a day with her. She speaks wonderful English and with my horrible hearing, I could hear her clearly which makes it so enjoyable. I normally cannot hear soft Japanese voices but she made it so easy for us to hear and understand. We spent the day with her and yes we were tired at the end but it was so worth it to stick it out all day. One of the best things about Riko is; she meets you at your hotel and returns you to your hotel when you are so tired you cannot possibly take another step. Another amazing thing about Riko is she knows the trains and knows how to get the client moved around quickly and efficiently. We had no idea where to go to get the right trains but Riko make it smooth as possible. It was raining all day but we pushed through and that caused all the tourists to not be at the stops we were going to. It was like the shut down the area for us. Since it was raining, Riko would call taxi’s for us and they came almost immediately. Riko is a wealth of information and we even met some of her friends along the way. If you are going to book a tour with this firm, ASK FOR RIKO, I know you will have a great day.

Riko was our guide for the full-day tour. After we selected the sites we wanted to visit, Riko provided us with a detailed itinerary. Her communication throughout the planning process was clear and thorough, including explanations of the expected admission fees and transportation costs for the day. Our itinerary included visits to Entsu-in Temple, a scenic cruise on Matsushima Bay, and a tour of Zuigan-ji Temple. Riko accompanied us on both the train and ferry, which made it easy for us to relax and fully enjoy each sight without worrying about logistics or directions. In addition to guiding us through the main attractions, Riko went above and beyond by arranging for us to have lunch at a vegan restaurant in Sendai. This thoughtful addition was not part of the original tour, yet it greatly enhanced our overall experience.

Kazz gave a great one on one 8 hour custom tour of Kyoto
Ryoich Kazuma (Kazz) was an amazing guide! He picked me up at my hotel and expertly guided me around Kyoto, showing me a custom set of sites. His background revealed interesting facts about the sites and related Japanese culture. He photographed moments for me and later shared all the pictures, allowing me to enjoy the sites rather than focusing on taking all my own pictures. He prepared an itinerary in advance and gave me useful information about how much local currency would be needed as well as estimated admission and transportation costs. Basically have 15000 yen ready and use a Suica card and everything is easy! We had a lovely lunch around midday as well. I highly recommend the tour and can’t say enough good things about Kazz! Love every moment!!

The tour with Kazuma-san was absolutely great. As someone who has never taken a private tour before, I was unsure what to expect. Kazuma-san met us at our hotel, was very friendly and knowledgeable. His English is also good. As me and my mother took more time than planned at the different sites we visited, Kazuma-san was able to provide us with interesting explanations and history facts throughout it all, even smells of local flora, and he took photos for us even after the alloted 4 hours were over and we were on our way back. One highlight for me was a high end porcelain shop near kiyomizudera.

I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to get a feel for Kyoto’s temples and history.

Absolutely recommend!
I definitely recommend seeing some of the sights with a guide, we learned so many things we would’ve been clueless about had we done some of the temples and castles on our own. Kazz was a wonderful guide and took pictures of us with his nice camera everywhere we went, so we had a little photo album of our day at the end of it! Don’t visit Tokyo without a guide! You’ll need help to find the good restaurants and interesting spots.

We had a tour with Ms. Fumiko. She was a both knowledgeable and nice guide. She even contacted us days beforehand to design the tour to meet our specific needs and wishes. Much appreciated!

Fumiko is a great tour guide – informative, friendly and very well prepared.
Fumiko was a great tour guide given she was very knowledgeable about the key tourist sites that we visited and history of Japan. Fumiko was a great communicator who reached out very early to design our six-hour tour of Tokyo. Unfortunately we spent a lot of time on the underground to get to the sites that we wanted to visit. My advice is to test with Fumiko early the likely time that you will spend on transport over the course of the day so you do not spend unnecessary time on public transport. Probably do ot need a tour guide to go to the markets. Highly recommend Fumiko.

Hiroshima Peace Park and Miyajima Island Walking Tour
Keiko met us at our hotel for a 9am start. We found her very friendly and her English was excellent. During the course of the tour her knowledge of The events of Hiroshima before and after the bombing was of great benefit to us. Also her wealth of knowledge of Miyajima and the shrines made the trip well worth the visit. Keiko also pointed out certain places of interest along the way which we found very useful as well. Amazing tour & guide!
Unforgettable and emotionally moving tour of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, A-Bomb site, underground basement of a survivor of the bombing, and Shukkeien Gardens. Our tour guide, Kay (Keiko) made the tour special. From the time I booked the tour (four months prior), she was in contact with me ensuring our needs were accommodated and working with us on tour itinerary. She even checked for information on how we could get tickets to the Hiroshima Carp game. During the tour, she gave us important information surrounding the history, people, and road to recovery. Kay went above and beyond what most tour guides would do. Also, her English and comprehension was excellent! Highly recommend you ask for Kay.

Vamos en un crucero por Japón. El tour de Miyajima e Hiroshima ha sido el top del viaje. Lo más fantástico y maravilloso que hemos vivido. Keiko (Kay) ha sido una guía increíble. Pensó en todos los detalles y nos dio la oportunidad de conocer todo lo posible en muy poco tiempo. El tour fue en inglés, pero dio cantidades de detalles que pudimos traducir a los familiares que hablaban solo español. Keiko fue muy amable y atenta a darnos gusto a todos. ガイドのKeiko（ケイ）さんは本当に素晴らしかったです。細かいところまで気を配ってくれて、短い時間の中でできる限り多くの場所を案内してくれました。
