Tour Itinerary in Detail
This private tour of Tokyo began at 10:00, when the guide met the guests at you at your hotel, and finished at 16:30. The day ran to 6 hours and 30 minutes from start to finish. It included lunch@Asada at 13:30.
From there the group visited Tsukiji at 10:30, Ryogoku at 12:00, Asakusa at 14:30 and Omotesando at 16:00.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Ebisu to Tsukiji by subway (210JPY); Tsukiji to Akihabara by subway (180JPY); Akihabara to Ryogoku by train (150JPY); Ryogoku to Asakusabashi by train (150JPY); Asakusabashi to Asakusa by subway (180JPY); Asakusa to Omotesando by subway (260JPY). Across 6 sections the fare came to 1,130JPY per person.

The guests were visitors from North America. They had arrived the day before, so the guiding day was their first day of sightseeing. During our prior communication, they had installed Mobile Suica on their phones, but one of their phone batteries ran low, so from partway through, one guest purchased individual tickets each time. Mobile Suica is convenient, but I was reminded once again that battery levels require attention.
On the day of the tour, at the guests' request, I guided them through Tsukiji, Asakusa, and also Ryogoku, which I recommended. Tickets for the grand sumo tournament were sold out, but in Ryogoku we watched lower-division sumo wrestlers passing by and were able to take a commemorative photo with a young wrestler. This young wrestler was actually one I had asked for a photo with during a tour the previous week, and he was happy to report that he had achieved a winning record. I also guided them to the former Yasuda Garden next to the Kokugikan. We were lucky to see a bride and groom in traditional kimono there for a pre-wedding photo shoot.
For lunch, we ate at a soba restaurant in Asakusabashi, where we had gotten off to transfer. Asakusabashi has few inbound tourists, so I recommend it.
After lunch, I guided them through Asakusa, and since the guests showed interest in the modern architecture of Omotesando, we got off at Omotesando, toured the inside of Prada together, and then said goodbye. Since it takes more than 30 minutes from Asakusa to Omotesando, I explained on the train how to get from Omotesando to Harajuku, Shibuya, and Ebisu. On the Ginza Line you can get a seat from Asakusa, so I use it as a break time or to take the time to explain various things.
The guests are going to participate in a motorbike tour in Nikko next. I hope they have a wonderful trip.

Tokyo Walking Tour
We did a six-hour walking tour of Tokyo with Yoko and she was an exceptional guide. We saw multiple shrines (Meiji Shrine is a must see), the Imperial Palace, the “crossing” (there is a similar intersection in the Ginza shopping district which was also cool), the Tokyo Station, and the outer market where we ordered some fatty toro nigiri which was an etherial experience. Can’t say enough good things about Yoko. She taught ys a ton about the history of Japan and had a great sense of humor. A+

Fantastic day exploring Tokyo
This was our first time visiting Tokyo and spending a day with Yoko as our guide was perhaps the best decision we could have made. Even before we arrived we traded messages with Yoko about what we might like to do. She offered valuable tips which made not only our time in Tokyo more efficient but while in Japan as a whole. We saw so many amazing things but Yoko also gave us a primer in using the Tokyo subway system and navigating some of the stations. I could go on and list all the things we did but each tour will be different. However I would highly recommend Yoko as a guide. Perhaps serendipitous, but we were stopped on the street the day after we toured with Yoko by a couple who had a list of things to do but was unsure how to go about doing the things on their list and where those things were located. I was thankful we chose the best guide so we didn’t have that problem.
