    • 16:00 Peace Memorial Park

What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Park Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe. They mentioned they were very fond of Ghibli, and they especially loved the scenery of Daisho-in Temple, where nature and religion blend together. They took an interest in each of the Buddhist statues and Bodhisattva images at Daisho-in Temple, and many questions came up about what each statue symbolizes. It was also wonderful that we were able to watch the Noh performance of the Toka-sai Festival at Itsukushima Shrine timed with high tide. Since I cannot make out what the Noh chanting is saying, I explained it as something like a Japanese version of Latin, which they understood, and that was a great help. At the Peace Memorial Park, they folded paper cranes together with me, and we were able to take some lovely photos with the beautifully atmospheric cranes. Finally, at the Peace Memorial Museum, one of the guests, being an avid reader, wanted to take their time reading the text of the exhibits, so we went as far as the introductory section with many photos and parted ways before entering the main exhibition part.

Can You Take a Private Yokohama Tour Between Cruise Departures? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, and this was their first time in Japan. The guests were travel companions who had met about twenty years earlier on a cruise, hit it off, and had since regularly enjoyed cruise trips together. The main purpose of this visit to Japan was a cruise circling Japan aboard the Diamond Princess. As of this morning, they had completed the first ten-day leg of the around-Japan cruise, and they planned to board the second ten-day leg departing this afternoon. After that, they intended to stay in Tokyo for a few days before flying home. Regarding the first leg of the cruise, they said that Nagasaki and Kanazawa had left especially strong impressions. They said, "In Nagasaki, I learned about the atomic bombing for the first time and was shocked. It was never taught in school." They also said they were pleased to have seen cherry blossoms at various ports of call. The tour took place under pleasant, clear weather, though it was occasionally quite windy. One of the guests had a knee problem and walked slowly, and mentioned a preference to use elevators whenever possible rather than stairs or escalators, so we proceeded at a slow pace. We first went to the Yokohama Landmark Tower for a panoramic view of Yokohama. I explained the history of Yokohama and the Meiji Restoration and the developments around that time. The comment was, "This is a pleasant port town." After that, we moved to the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse. However, few shops were open, which was a bit disappointing. The flower beds in the plaza were a favorite, and they were photographed many times. From there we moved west and strolled through Yamashita Park and inside the Hotel New Grand. The Hikawa Maru seemed to be a favorite, photographed repeatedly from many angles. We entered a large discount store near the entrance of Harbor View Park, where, for some reason, wine was purchased (with the remark that "buying wine on the ship is very expensive"). We then moved to Motomachi Chinatown, which was fairly crowded with tourists and groups of students. However, the guests said, "It's nice to see Chinatown, but I don't want Chinese food. I'd like to eat Japanese food somewhere," so we moved to the area near Kannai Station and had a light lunch at a set-meal restaurant. One guest ordered a grilled atka mackerel set meal, and the other ordered a tempura set meal, and both said it was very delicious. One guest commented, "For some reason, the buffet on the cruise ship has few Japanese dishes. That seems strange since about half of the passengers are Japanese." There were also questions and comments such as, "The streets are so clean and there's no litter. Is someone cleaning them?" "Why are there no trash cans on the streets?" and "Unlike in North America, no one throws trash out onto the streets." I saw them off at the entrance of the Osanbashi Pier, and we parted ways.

    FY2022 results: 17 cases, FY2023 results: 97
Destinations: Various places in Tokyo, Hakone, Kamakura and Nikko
As a recent group travel record, in October 2023, we have a track record of guiding a group of 33 people from Singapore to Narita Airport transfer plus sightseeing in Tokyo.
    Self-introduction:
In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
I am a certified CPA in the United States.
In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Nara Like from Kyoto? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests had originally been cancelled due to some mix-up but the booking was later restored. We exchanged quite a lot of messages in advance, including how to reserve the limited express train from Kyoto to Kintetsu-Nara, so we had built up good rapport and both spent the day very comfortably and at ease. The schedule got thrown off a bit because we played too long with the deer, the knife shop run by a former swordsmith was crowded, and every lunch spot was completely packed (partly because Mizutani-chaya was closed for its regular holiday), so after lunch we had to hurry a little. Hurrying seems to bring out the adrenaline, and I surprised myself at how fast I was speaking English the whole time. One of the guests amused me with a story: the family name was Tannenbaum (which means "fir tree" in German), the same as the title of a famous Christmas song — funny, isn't it! (laughs)

Hello! Thank you for choosing Nara! I bet you’ll love Nara. I specialize in Nara because Nara is the unique place where in one day you can cover the history and religions of Japan from the ancient times to the post war era while enjoying rambling in the UNESCO World Heritage park, having communication with lovely deer, surrounded with the beautiful nature.
I grew up in Nara, went university in Kyoto, enjoyed teaching at high schools and a university in Osaka. The three former capitals of Japan are home to me.
After retiring from teaching I began guiding so that I can meet various people from various corners of the world with a variety of cultures and backgrounds. Each time I guide, I find it hugely rewarding because I learn a lot from my guests sharing the history, culture and all that I know about Nara, Kyoto and Osaka.
I used to be a marathon runner, mountain climber and skier though I am not much of them anymore.
What I especially recommend is to stay in Nara a couple of days and enjoy communicating with friendly deer while visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Nara in early morning, temples and shrines at night are well worth experiencing.

Title: What Is a Private Naha Tour on Okinawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Even though something always seems to go wrong, today brought another major blunder. I mistook the guest's hotel three times in a row, and at the second hotel I was already ten minutes past the appointed time, so I almost ended up leading away a guest who happened to be sitting in the lobby by chance. Once we checked names, we both burst out laughing, but since I still hadn't met my actual guest, I felt even more flustered. I hurriedly called the phone number that had rung me earlier, but because I was somewhat worked up, I couldn't follow the rapid, accented English, so I had a hotel staff member take over and let them know I would arrive within ten minutes. In the end, I managed to meet the guest twenty minutes past the appointed time. When we met, they turned out to be very easygoing. When I told the story of going to the wrong hotel, they simply said "No problem!" I rode around Naha City on my motorbike, going in circles searching for hotels, but it turned out the correct hotel was very close to the first one. Since the guest was vegetarian, no meal time was needed, so there was plenty of time to spare, and overall everything went smoothly from there to the end. Even so, despite having checked the basic hotel name and location beforehand, on the day itself I got confused and had forgotten it. That is all.

Hello, I’m Hidemitsu Maeshiro, your tour guide on Okinawa. Please call me Hyde. I was born in 1947 three years after the war and brought up in Shuri. I live near Shurijo Castle and my family run a small nursery school for more than 50 years. I was adapted to Maeshiro when I was about 7 years of age, my family and given name has been changed for three times. I would like to tell you the secret when you come to see me in Okinawa. My older brother who was also adopted to Maeshiro when he was young. His brother and father was killed in battle of Okinawa near the Naha Port. He has to go back to his old family to continue his family’s name Matsuyama.

Well, one out of every four people was killed in this war. Especially Shuri area was heavily damaged and completely destroyed because 32nd Imperial Army dug banker under the site of Shurijo Castle. Ancient capital of Ryukyu has disappeared.

In 1912, Japanese Government decided to rebuild of Shurijo Castle again. It was completed in the year 2019, but unfortunately Shurijo Castle was burnt down 31st of October 2019. The cause of the fire is unknow, many valuable cultural assets has gone. The castle will be rebuild
    three yeas later.

After I was retired from local company in 2017, I applied on base tour guide. Guiding Okinawa is very exciting job, we have long history of Okinawa. The first trade with China is in 1372, twenty years later we have 36 family emigrant from China. Thy have been great help to trade with China for next 450 years.

Title: What Can You See on a Private 6-Hour Shizuoka Port Cruise Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report Body: Although I had been told the ship would arrive at Shimizu Port, it actually arrived at Okitsu Port. I was relieved that we were able to meet up without any trouble. After that, everything went smoothly and we spent the entire time in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere as we visited the following places. The group really liked Nihondaira Yume Terrace, where they enjoyed the wonderful warmth of the wood for free while taking in the magnificent view of Mount Fuji. After that, at Kashi no Ichi market, some of the guests enjoyed tempura while others savored a delicious tuna rice bowl. We then headed to Miho no Matsubara. The rooftop of Mihoshirube offered a great view, and the Mount Fuji observation deck made for a wonderful photo stop. Six hours passed in the blink of an eye, and we returned safely to the port and waved goodbye. The guests said that, blessed with fine weather, it had been a wonderful day.

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today I guided a group visiting from North America. They had traveled by cruise ship and visited various places such as Korea, Hakodate, Sapporo, Kanazawa, and Shimizu. As it was the period between the peak of cherry blossom season and the school-trip season, both Nijo Castle and Kinkaku-ji were relatively uncrowded, which allowed the group to enjoy them at a leisurely pace. The lunch venue was a traditional Japanese-style house, which the group appreciated very much. As the group wanted to buy souvenirs for family, we changed our destination from Fushimi Inari Taisha to the Kyoto Craft Center. I also showed them Gion Tatsumi Bridge, which they enjoyed a great deal.

They enjoyed Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Hokokuji Temple, the Great Buddha, and Hasedera Temple. Although the cherry blossom season had ended, the flowers were still beautiful, and we were very lucky. One of the guests eagerly took many photos of the Enoden train (I imagine they may have been comparing it to trams back home). Another of the guests was delighted by the fresh greenery and the flowers, and repeatedly said how satisfied they were, which made me very happy.

What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Hamarikyu, and the Museum The guests were a very friendly group visiting Japan. They came to Japan to visit the Osaka Expo, and this was their first day in Tokyo after arriving the previous day. They showed great interest in everything. After visiting Senso-ji Temple, they drew omikuji fortunes and strolled through Nakamise. They listened enthusiastically to stories about daruma dolls and maneki-neko (lucky cats), which made guiding them a pleasure. After lunch at Tsukiji, we changed the plan from Shinjuku Gyoen to Hamarikyu, which was within walking distance. The double-flowered cherry blossoms were still beautiful, and the guests were delighted. The museum was also a place they had very much wanted to visit, and they observed the armor and swords with particular enthusiasm. Having walked for several days in a row, they seemed tired, and toward the end at the museum, some of the guests rested on a bench from time to time, but they still listened attentively to the explanations. After I had guided them through the main building of the museum, our time was up and we said goodbye.

Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Miyajima and the Hiroshima Peace Park Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe. Since visitors from such a high-cost country rarely travel to expensive destinations, I wondered how best to break the ice. On behalf of the Hiroshima prefectural governor and city mayor, I expressed my thanks for their country having received the Nobel Peace Prize. This went over fairly well and the tour got off to a warm and friendly start. The train to Miyajima was packed like sardines, but even in those conditions I quietly used a translation app to check some phrases in their language. It may seem like a small thing, but it worked as a nice social lubricant during the tour. Since one of the guests followed a gluten-free diet, we kept lunch simple with items from a convenience store. In the end they seemed quite satisfied, and they gave me two bars of chocolate they had brought from their country. It was truly delicious.

Originally, I’m a cycling guide doing cycling tours all over Japan.
But, already done Hiroshima & Miyajima tour more than 400 times.
I traveled many countries in my younger days. I traveled Europe, US, China, India, US, Mexico, Peru Australia, NZ, and so on.
I decided to use this experience to become a guide.
I’m afraid but no tipping required, because cycling guides are not allowed to have tipping in my association. And you do not need to pay for my lunch, because my lunch is prepared by our group.
Please do not hesitate to ask me anything, I’ll change the plan according to your requests.
Thank you for your understanding and please stay connected.

What's a Private Miyajima and Itsukushima Shrine Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests visited from abroad. They kept to the schedule precisely, and since it was an early-morning tour, everything proceeded smoothly and without stress. At the museum, they were able to view the exhibits at their own pace in a quiet setting, which was ideal. Today there also happened to be a Noh performance dedicated at Itsukushima Shrine, and the guests were delighted at such a rare opportunity. Because lunch was set for a somewhat later time compared to their early wake-up, I suggested they have a snack along the way, but they did not eat anything until lunchtime. As a result, they seemed to thoroughly enjoy the okonomiyaki. By the time they headed back, they appeared to be quite relaxed.

Hi, I’m Kahori, a nationally licensed tour guide, and delighted to show people around this area. For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors.
Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called “art islands” which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival “Setouchi Triennale”. In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. Personally, I am very passionate about modern art and enjoy sports like stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) on our rivers.
I look forward to meeting you, interacting with you, and also, learning from you!
