What Is a Private Tokyo Day Tour Like in Summer? A Licensed Guide's Report
[Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private tour in Tokyo for guests visiting from Europe. It was their second day in Japan, and after this they planned to continue to Hakone, Kanazawa, Hiroshima, and Kyoto. Since it had not been possible to confirm the itinerary in advance, the plan was decided only on the day itself; when we met in the morning, the guests chose one of the two plans I had prepared, and we proceeded with that. The guests listened carefully to each of my explanations. The heat and humidity were severe and the guests appeared to be struggling, so I guided them at a faster pace than usual. Because they did not eat anything at Tsukiji and did not stop at the tea house in Nakajima, it looked like we would have time to spare, but the guests said they preferred it that way and wanted to finish early and return to the hotel. So I chose shaded routes as much as possible and moved quickly through the remainder, finishing about two hours ahead of schedule. Apart from lunch, the subway, and the inside of Tokyo Tower, the heat was dangerous, so I felt this was unavoidable. Even so, for lunch they had the sushi they had requested, and they told me they enjoyed the tour, so I think it turned out well.

Our wonderful guide, Takako, took us on a tour of Tokyo. She helped us create a plan based on our interests and was flexible when we needed to change the itinerary a bit due to extreme heat. She was friendly, informative, and helpful. We enjoyed learning about Japanese culture and history from Takako, and we saw amazing temples and ate delicious sushi. I highly recommend this tour and Takako as a guide!

We had an amazing day with Takako. Takako got in contact prior to our tour to create the perfect itinerary. She collected us from our hotel and helped us get our travel cards and showed us how to use the public transport. Takako altered our tour and took us to Harajuku Takeshite street, which our teenagers really enjoyed. Takako was really informative and friendly and made the day really enjoyable. We would have no hesitation in booking her again. Takako showed us more in 6 hours than we would have seen in a week if left to our own devices. Thanks Takako and we will watch The Transporter!
