    What Is a Private Walking Tour of Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The weather was lovely today, and at times the guests even took off their jackets. The tour was scheduled to start at 10:00, but due to a ticket issue and incorrect platform guidance, the guests missed their planned bullet train and arrived in Hiroshima at 10:27. Thank you for updating the start time through the [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) booking system. The guests came from Europe. In their country, the First World War and the Pacific War are studied in detail, so they wanted to deepen the knowledge they had gained from books and classes and to learn about the war from a non-Western perspective on-site, which is why they came to Hiroshima. Wanting them to also see present-day Hiroshima, I introduced the newly built station, the history of okonomiyaki available inside the station, and some okonomiyaki restaurants. It seems they went after the tour, as they sent me a message saying, "We are at the okonomiyaki restaurant in the station you introduced. It is delicious." We also visited the streetcar platform scheduled to open at the station this summer, enjoyed the view from the rooftop, and tried a fresh juice machine. The guests shared one juice among the group and said the taste was excellent. At the Baumkuchen shop I took them to during the tour, they purchased two and said they were very delicious. I recommended that they visit the Peace Memorial Museum after the tour, and when I guided them through the Fukuromachi Elementary School Peace Museum, they said it was wonderful because they were able to learn personal stories that cannot be found in ordinary books. I am glad the guests enjoyed the tour. They were a very close-knit group, and it made me feel happy as well.

    Hello! My name is Miki. I was born and brought up in Hiroshima. I enjoy traveling around Inland Sea areas and I enjoy chatting with guests from overseas!

    In Hiroshima, you can see many beautiful rivers and old bridges. Lately, I often take photos of Hiroshima city including bridges and rivers. There are not many tall buildings here, but I know some places you can visit and see the view for free. By the atomic bomb dome, there is a building called Orizuru(paper crane) Tower. You need to pay to go up to the top floor but you can see the view of Hiroshima city and the Miyajima Island(Itsukushima).

    Many tourists from overseas as well as Japan want to visit Miyajima Island. You can see a beautiful shrine from Heian Period which is around 12th century and a huge Torii gate in front of the shrine and it is in the water. There are several ways to visit the island from Hiroshima city. If you are going to stay near JR Hiroshima Station, we will visit the island by JR train and JR ferry. If you are staying in the city area, we can go there by streetcar and ferry, or there is a high-speed boat from Peace Memorial Park pier directly to the island and vise versa.

    Title: What's a Private Day Tour from Tokyo to Enoshima and Kamakura Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Since there was about a month between the assignment being confirmed and the tour day, I exchanged several emails and created an itinerary that fully incorporated the wishes of the guests. I was also able to share information in advance, such as details about SUICA, the train routes to and from the destination, and points to note for the Enoshima walk. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) is one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides, serving all 47 prefectures. On the day, when we met at the hotel, the group was as planned. However, after boarding the Odakyu Line, one of the guests got off partway and left the group due to feeling unwell. When I checked with the remaining guests, they said, "He can get back to the hotel on his own, so it's fine. Let's continue on to Enoshima," and so we continued the tour (the guest who left later returned safely to the hotel). The weather was excellent all day at the destination, and the guests fully enjoyed the wonderful views including Mount Fuji, local cuisine, cultural experiences such as drawing omikuji fortunes, and the walk to the Enoshima Iwaya Caves. After finishing Enoshima, one of the guests decided not to go to Kotoku-in because they wanted to take care of the guest who had left the group earlier, and instead returned from Katase-Enoshima to Shinjuku on the Odakyu Line. Just to be safe, I double-checked the return train that they had already looked up on an app. The remaining guests then enjoyed viewing the Great Buddha. The itinerary had originally called for a stroll around Kamakura Station at the end, but when I explained that there would not be much time around Kamakura Station in order to catch the planned Shonan-Shinjuku Line train, they replied, "We were able to enjoy shopping plenty at Enoshima, so it's no problem. We'll head back on the scheduled train," and agreed. After seeing them off at Kamakura Station, I received a message from the guests saying, "Everything worked smoothly. We had a great time," and overall they seemed very satisfied.

    What's a Private Kyoto Sightseeing Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tenryu-ji, Ninna-ji, and Kinkaku-ji The guests were a group from Oceania, and they were a relaxed and easygoing group. One of the guests had a deep interest in Japanese culture and had been studying Japanese even before visiting Japan. Another of the guests already had a solid basic knowledge of Japanese culture, and I was surprised when this guest shared original opinions about Oceania's economy and trade situation over lunch. At Tenryu-ji Temple, in front of the beautiful pond-strolling garden, I taught the guests how to sit in zazen meditation so they could experience the atmosphere of Zen. After strolling through the lovely botanical garden of Tenryu-ji, we walked through the bamboo grove, passed through Kameyama Park, and proceeded to the area behind Tenryu-ji, where we had lunch. After lunch, one of the guests expressed a wish to see cherry blossoms and asked to be taken somewhere, so we took the Randen tram to Ninna-ji Temple, where the guests admired the Omuro cherry blossoms and were very pleased. From Ninna-ji, we moved to Kinkaku-ji Temple by Randen tram and taxi. After the guests fully enjoyed the beautiful Kinkaku-ji, a request was made to do some shopping, so we took a taxi to the Teramachi area and parted ways at Nishiki Market. Throughout today's guiding, I focused on flexible responses and made every effort to accommodate the guests' wishes.

    What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were friends visiting from North America. They were very friendly and cheerful. After a cruise around Japan and Busan, they would return to Tokyo before heading home, so Tokyo was their first day. They had only just arrived the day before, but slept well the previous night and had little jet lag. They mentioned they knew a little about Japan from watching a certain television series. At the East Gardens I talked about the period from the Edo era to the Meiji era, at Meiji Shrine and Asakusa I spoke about religion, and in Harajuku and Shibuya I discussed urban development. I was a little worried about whether they would find it interesting, but they listened very attentively, which put me at ease. They seemed to enjoy the livelier spots such as Takeshita Street, Shibuya, and Asakusa. At Meiji Shrine they drew an omikuji fortune and were delighted, calling the spirit of the waka poetry very cool. During the tour I showed them how to use the subway, and at the end I explained how to get back from Asakusa to their hotel before saying goodbye. They were very pleased, which made me happy. For the photo, one of them was shy, so I took a picture of just the other guest.

    Title: What's a Private Tokyo Tour of Tsukiji, Asakusa, and the Imperial Palace East Gardens Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Oceania. They arrived at their hotel in the morning, but their room was not yet ready, and they sent a message urging me to come whenever convenient. We began our meeting at 10:45. The itinerary had already been decided in advance by email, including confirmation of eating sushi at Tsukiji. Since walking for long distances was difficult for one of the guests, I initially suggested a tour with a vehicle, but they decided to walk instead. At Tsukiji, we were very lucky to have been able to reserve counter seats the day before. Because ordinary soy sauce could not be used due to a dietary restriction, I had checked in advance with the sushi restaurant, and they confirmed that bringing gluten-free soy sauce was fine. So I purchased some at a nearby supermarket and brought it along. It was a perfect setting, and I expected them to eat a lot, but the guests shared a single portion between them, which was a little disappointing. Still, they had only just arrived that morning. The sushi chef kindly separated and pointed out the ingredients that contained gluten, which was very helpful and educational for me. We took the subway to Asakusa, but partway through the tour of Asakusa, the guests said they wanted to take a taxi to the Imperial Palace. We caught a taxi in front of Kaminarimon. At the Imperial Palace East Gardens, they had been looking forward to the Japanese garden and the cherry blossoms and seemed pleased, but signs of fatigue began to show, and there was a sense that my explanations were only half-heard. I pointed out that we had not yet reached six hours, but they said it was enough, so we ended there. They listened attentively at Tsukiji and Asakusa, but given that it was their arrival day, this was understandable. In the East Gardens, the azaleas were beginning to bloom and several kinds of cherry blossoms were still in flower, and they enjoyed taking photographs and spending time there. Together with the sushi at Tsukiji, I think it turned out to be a good day.

Historical spot such as Imperial palace, Japanese gardens, Buddhist temples,Shinto shrines and Fish market are my familiar tourism places.Usually I take my guest to these spot using public transportation and walk around there. Also I manage a hiking tour to Tama erea (west part of Tokyo) such as Mt.Takao, Okutama gorge, you will find that Tokyo has rich nature too.     Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima Tour Like for a Family with a Child? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Since one of the guests was interested in international politics and history, I arranged an itinerary (after consulting with the group beforehand) that began at Hiroshima Castle for a broad overview of Hiroshima's history, followed by the Peace Memorial Park and the museum to deepen that understanding. As I had worried, however, one of the guests did not seem to be enjoying it very much. I tried to guide with quizzes as much as possible (asking "Why do you think that is?"), but I got the impression that it was still a bit difficult given the situation. That said, another one of the guests was very eager to learn and was both delighted and surprised by the information I provided, saying "There is so much I didn't know." They seemed to reflect on the gaps and contradictions between what is taught in school and what was in front of them, along with my supplementary explanations. After leaving the museum, I suggested that the Orizuru Tower would be a good way to bring some enjoyment to the group. Normally this would take about 40 minutes with proper time management, but there was an unexpected special quiz rally that took us walking from the 12th floor down to the 1st floor, followed by great excitement on the slide, and difficulty even with the simple version of folding a paper crane, so we ended up running well over time. Still, the guest was jumping and bouncing with joy, and it made me wonder whether it might have been better to skip the initial "history of Hiroshima" portion and prioritize entertainment from the start. I was reminded once again how difficult it can be to balance the desire to have a child learn with the child's own wish to have fun and play.

    What Is a Private Miyajima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. One of the guests had come to Japan many times before, but it was their first visit to Miyajima. Another had visited Hiroshima and Miyajima six years earlier and was very surprised at how much both places had changed. The others were visiting Japan for the first time. Today happened to be the day of the Momotesai (Peach Blossom Festival) at Itsukushima Shrine, and we were lucky enough to see a Noh performance on the Noh stage. The guests thoroughly enjoyed the quiet atmosphere of the street leading to Daishoin Temple and the gentle presence of the deer we encountered along the way. For lunch we had okonomiyaki, and it was wonderful that both those enjoying it again after six years and those trying it for the first time were delighted.

    Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Himeji Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Engyoji Temple and Himeji Castle The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. Since one of the guests found walking and stairs difficult, we proceeded with rest breaks along the way. At the first stop, Engyoji Temple, that guest headed to the bus stop ahead of the others and rejoined us partway through. At Himeji Castle as well, that guest decided the steep slopes and the stairs inside the castle would be too much and waited near the castle entrance together with part of the group, so only some of the guests actually went inside the castle keep. I felt that everyone was more interested in shopping locally than in sightseeing at each spot. They purchased various charms at Engyoji Temple, small accessories at Himeji Castle, and a good amount of sake at Nadagiku Sake Brewery. As it happened to be a birthday that day, I presented a handmade drawstring pouch made by my sister, which was very warmly received. (Some of the other guests laughingly said they wanted one too.) I believe everyone enjoyed the day reasonably well, though I felt a little sorry that the itinerary was somewhat demanding for that guest. After Himeji, the group planned to return to their hotel in Osaka to hold a birthday party, so I recommended several restaurants and gave directions for the train from Himeji Station, and we parted ways there.

    I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
    and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
    foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
    Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

    I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good

    Title: What Is a Private Kanazawa Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The night before the tour, the local coordinator informed me that the meeting would take place at the ryokan in Yuwaku Onsen after the guests checked in. However, since Yuwaku Onsen is about an hour away from Kanazawa by bus, I explained this and had the starting point changed to Kanazawa Station. We met at Kanazawa Station, sent the luggage ahead to the ryokan, and then started the tour. After the tour, the guests were pleased to be able to travel from Kanazawa to Yuwaku Onsen empty-handed. The tour had to end in time for the departure of the bus to Yuwaku Onsen, which only runs once an hour, but since we were able to visit the places the guests wished to see, they were satisfied.
