What's a Private Cherry Blossom Walking Tour of Asakusa, Ueno, and Yoyogi Park Like in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, traveling around Japan for about two weeks. Some of the group spent the day separately visiting an anime museum, as they were very fond of anime and had chosen some of the trip's destinations themselves. Since the Hotel was located in the Higashi-Komagata area and Asakusa could easily be revisited later, I introduced only the key highlights there. As they had requested a simple street-food lunch, we ate xiaolongbao and other items from the food stalls around Ueno Park. They greatly enjoyed the nearly full-bloom cherry blossoms at Asakusa, Ueno, and Yoyogi Park, and were fascinated by the sight of many people spreading out sheets to have picnics under the trees. They live in a small inland town in North America and were amazed by the size of Tokyo and the number of people. Can You Do a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo in Cherry Blossom Season? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from Europe. They shared that they now enjoy traveling every year and are currently on a long journey through Japan, staying in Tokyo before continuing on to Hakone, Hida-Takayama, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Okinawa, then returning to Tokyo before heading home. They had arrived at Haneda Airport the previous morning, took a taxi to their accommodation, and then strolled around Ginza. They told me, "We've really been looking forward to seeing the cherry blossoms." Since one of the guests had some concern about their legs, we proceeded slowly. Although the sky was cloudy, we were not rained on, and the tour took place in surprisingly mild weather. First, we went to Tokyo Tower. I explained "the history of Edo and Tokyo" and "an overview of the city of Tokyo." Unfortunately, the clouds were thick, so we could not see far into the distance, and we were unable to see Mount Fuji. There were questions about "Azabudai Hills," such as "How tall is it?" and "What's inside?" The guests remarked, "We really understand now how vast and enormous a city Tokyo is." Next, we went to Shinjuku Gyoen. Although it was a Monday, it happened to be a special opening day. I explained "the history and current state of Shinjuku Gyoen" and "the history of Edo and Tokyo." The cherry blossoms were nearly in full bloom, and the guests eagerly took commemorative photos in front of various cherry trees. They said, "The pine trees are wonderful," and enthusiastically took pictures here and there. They also said, "The Japanese garden is superb. We have made a Japanese-style garden in our own yard and planted a cherry tree as well." We then moved to Shinjuku's Kabukicho. We visited the requested spots — "Omoide Yokocho," "the 3D cat billboard," and the "Godzilla Head" — and they took photos eagerly. I explained "the history of Shinjuku" and "the difference between the east and west exits." They commented, "Unlike other parts of the city, it's noisy and there's litter scattered on the streets, so it's not very clean," and asked, "We don't see many homeless people though?" We moved to Harajuku. Meiji Shrine was full of tourists. I explained "about Shinto," "about torii gates," "about Emperor Meiji," "why sake barrels are displayed," and "why wine barrels are displayed." There were questions such as "What kind of religion is Shinto?" and "How do Buddhism and Shinto differ?" We encountered a wedding procession, which they photographed with great interest, and we also came across a family celebrating Shichi-Go-San, whom they photographed after obtaining permission. We took a break at "Forest Terrace Meiji Jingu." We also walked through the very crowded Takeshita Street. Afterward, we had a leisurely lunch. Both guests seemed a little tired. We moved to Shibuya. We actually crossed the Scramble Crossing, and there were questions such as "How many people gather at the busiest times?" and "Why did it become so famous?" We took photos in front of the Hachiko statue and also walked through Shibuya Center Street. Can You Do a Private One-Day Sightseeing Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, the Imperial Palace, and Shibuya The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. It was their first time in Japan. They arrived at Haneda Airport the previous night and took a taxi to their hotel. The night before, they had strolled around the Shinjuku and Kabukicho area. This time, the guests were visiting Japan for a total of eight days on a holiday trip. After spending three days in Tokyo, they planned to travel around Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara, then return to Tokyo before heading home. They mentioned they were planning to join a Shinjuku food tour that evening. They were also planning a day trip to Mount Fuji the following day. For today, they expressed their hope, saying, "We are looking forward to seeing the cherry blossoms." The tour took place under alternating sun and clouds, in fairly warm weather. First, we headed to Asakusa, which was packed with crowds. We started in front of the Kaminarimon Gate. I explained "Senso-ji Temple and the history from Edo to Tokyo," "what the five-story pagoda is for," "what Buddhism is," and "the difference between Buddhism and Shinto." We took commemorative photos at various spots, including the Kaminarimon Gate and in front of the five-story pagoda. The weeping cherry tree in the temple grounds was in full bloom, and the surrounding area was full of tourists absorbed in taking photos. We slowly strolled through the crowded Nakamise shopping street. There were questions such as "What are the major religions in Japan?", "How many Buddhists are there in Japan?", and "Besides Buddhism, what other religions do people follow?" There was also a question: "We see many people wearing kimono in the temple grounds. Why is that? Are they all Japanese?" We moved to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. Here and there, the cherry blossoms were just beginning to bloom. I explained "the history of Japan from Edo to Meiji," "the Meiji Restoration," "why Edo Castle became the Imperial Palace," "the history of the Imperial family," "World War II and the air raids on Tokyo," and "how stone walls are constructed." What's a Private Yanaka Walking Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe who wanted to see everyday Japanese life away from the more heavily touristed areas. Since they enjoy looking at paintings and photographs in galleries, I suggested visiting Yanaka. In the morning we were mostly spared from the rain, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and the guests seemed to really enjoy the quiet atmosphere of places such as the cemetery and Tennoji Temple. Around Ueno Sakuragi, they purchased wasabi-flavored olive oil. As one of the guests preferred vegetarian food, we went to eggs cafe, and they were very pleased with both the atmosphere of the restaurant and the meal. In the afternoon the rain grew heavier, but we visited Hako, SCAI THE BATHHOUSE, and the Allan West Gallery. They remarked that Allan West's paintings were wonderful. We also stopped by Isetatsu, walked along Yanaka Ginza, and then headed back. Although the weather was not great, I believe the guests were able to enjoy a townscape quite different from that of Shibuya or Shinjuku.

What's a Private Cherry Blossom Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, Meguro River, and Meiji Shrine The guests were close friends visiting from North America. At Asakusa, they said the view from the tourist information center was wonderful. They were also delighted by the beauty of Sensoji Temple and Asakusa Shrine. I had heard from the agent that they were not interested in shopping, but they had been asked to buy souvenirs, so we looked for them together. At Tsukiji, they sampled a variety of foods, including beans. Since they were not yet hungry, we moved on to the Meguro River. We strolled along the Meguro River while enjoying the cherry blossoms. The weather was fine, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and there were many stalls, so we fully enjoyed the blossoms while sipping sakura wine. Afterward, once they got hungry, we moved to Harajuku and had lunch at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. They said it was very delicious. Next, we visited Meiji Shrine. Title: What's an 8-Hour Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Ueno The guests were staying at a Hotel, a type of long-stay accommodation common in the Ueno and Asakusa areas. It was located roughly midway between Ueno Station and Inaricho Station, but I thought it would be helpful to show the guests how to get to Ueno Station, so the tour started from Ueno Station. Since the guests wished to have breakfast at Tsukiji, I took them there first. They mentioned that they usually enjoy a hearty breakfast, so we spent a little longer there than usual. In Asakusa, we also visited Sumida Park, where the cherry blossoms were nearly in full bloom. On a standard 6-hour tour, reaching Kappabashi Kitchenware Street would have brought us close to the end time, but the guests had booked an 8-hour tour, so there was still plenty of time. I therefore also guided them through Ueno Park, which is near the Hotel. From Ueno Park, I walked with them to near the Hotel before we parted ways.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Ueno, Nezu, Yanaka, and Akihabara The guest was very energetic and full of vitality. Since the guest did not seem to enjoy crowded places, we walked through Senso-ji while avoiding Nakamise-dori. Because of the course arrangement, we decided to have lunch in Ueno. The restaurant we used this time can get crowded on weekends and may involve a long wait, but as it was perfect weather for cherry blossom viewing that day, many people seemed to be eating outdoors, so we were able to be seated sooner than expected. As the guest was able to walk quite a lot, we also traveled on foot between Nezu Shrine and Yanaka. Even after finishing the tour of Yanaka, we still had about an hour to spare, so I took the guest to the main spots between Ochanomizu and Akihabara, an area I had recently had the chance to walk with another group. By the time we reached Suehirocho, it was just the right time, so I saw the guest off near the Hotel via the Ginza Line, and we parted ways.

Title: What Is a Private Nagasaki Cruise Port Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report When the guests first came out of the cruise terminal, they said, "There are nine of us." I explained, "I believe it was communicated in advance that the car can only seat seven people." They replied, "Understood, two of us will follow behind in a separate taxi," and we set off. In the end, however, those two took separate action, and the tour was carried out with seven guests. After departing, I explained in the car that the planned destinations were the atomic bomb-related facilities, Suwa Shrine, Dejima, Glover Garden, Oura Church, and, if possible, a spot where cherry blossoms could be seen. After about 45 minutes at the Atomic Bomb Museum, I handed out an area map I had obtained the previous day at the tourist information office at Nagasaki Station, explained the walking route ahead, and then guided everyone on foot to the hypocenter and Peace Park. After the visit, we boarded the car that had been waiting at Peace Park, passed by the one-legged torii gate, and went to Suwa Shrine. When we departed from Suwa Shrine, the guests expressed a wish to visit Urakami Cathedral, so I explained this to the driver and, with the driver's agreement (even though it meant returning to the atomic bomb-related area), we went to Urakami Cathedral. After the visit to Urakami Cathedral, the group's leader pointed to the reverse side of the map I had handed out when leaving the Atomic Bomb Museum, which showed a somewhat wider area, and made a request: "There are some of us who would like to explore this area on our own and then catch a taxi back to the terminal by ourselves." I explained, "The ship departs at 6:00 p.m., so please return to the terminal by 5:00 p.m. at the latest," and I gave them two pieces of paper with "Matsugae International Cruise Terminal" written on them to hand to the taxi driver they would later ride with. Five of the seven guests then left the group. The remaining members were the group's leader and one other, for a total of two people. At this point they again told me their desired destinations, and in accordance with their wishes, we went to Dejima and the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum (photographing only the exterior of the building). On the way to Dejima, I had the driver pass by Tateyama Park where cherry blossoms could be seen, but the blossoms were not yet fully in bloom. At Dejima, I guided them to the Kapitan's Quarters and the Archaeology Museum, and then we headed to the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum. After the art museum (photographing only the exterior of the building), the guests expressed a wish to go to the Uniqlo inside the You-me Town Mall that was visible from there. We decided to walk to the You-me Town Mall. At this point the time was 1:00 p.m. The driver had initially said, "After 2:00 p.m., an overtime charge will apply and must be paid in cash," and since I had conveyed this to the guests at the start of the tour, I arranged for the car to come pick us up at the You-me Town Mall taxi stand at 1:55. After arriving on foot at the You-me Town Mall (around 1:10), I gave the guests free time and set a meeting at the taxi stand for 1:55. The guests returned on time, but they said, "We'd like to spend a bit more time here on our own, such as having a meal. We'll catch a taxi here ourselves and return to the cruise terminal." Soon the car also came to the taxi stand, so I explained the situation to the driver, who agreed, and the guests retrieved their luggage from the car, ending the tour at this location. The tour ended safely without any accidents, and since the destinations were as the guests wished, I believe they were satisfied.
