    What Is a Rainy-Day Private Walking Tour of Kanazawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report It rained heavily on the day of the tour, but since the guests only had this one day in Kanazawa, the tour went ahead along the planned route, even though I had also prepared an alternative plan centered on museums. Both the guests and I got quite wet, but it had been a while since I had seen Kanazawa's sightseeing spots with so few people around, and in that respect there were some advantages. Since the rain was forecast to stop after 6:00 p.m., I introduced the evening illuminations at Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle Park. The guests were delighted and said they would visit again at night to see them. The tour ended at Omicho Market, where I introduced local seasonal fish, bringing the tour to a close.

    What Is a Private Kanazawa Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Omicho Market, Kanazawa Castle, and Higashi Chaya District I guided the guests, who were visitors from Europe. At Omicho Market, we walked around looking at the fresh seafood, vegetables, and fruits. Since one of the guests avoided certain foods, we bought a pack of sweet shrimp (amaebi) sushi, and the guests enjoyed it together with gluten-free soy sauce that I had brought along. They savored the fresh sweet shrimp. At Kanazawa Castle, the rain was quite heavy, but the guests enjoyed the historical exhibits inside the Hishi Yagura, the Gojukken Nagaya, and the Hashizumemon Tsuzuki Yagura. At Shima in the Higashi Chaya District, the guests remarked that the elegant guest rooms were very beautiful. After taking a short break at a café, I saw them off to the venue for an evening geisha dance performance. The guests were very interested in Kanazawa's fresh seafood, traditional streetscapes, crafts, and geisha culture.

    I majored in civil engineering at a college and am interested in historical infrastructures. I have also guided foreign people around Ishikawa Prefecture, Toyama Prefecture, Gifu Prefecture, and Fukui Prefecture as an international activity of an English circle. I was a volunteer interpreter at the training camp for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in 2021.

    Hokuriku region has a lot of sightseeing spots as follows, beautiful landscapes like Kenrokuen Garden and Tateyama, tasty food like traditional Kaga dishes and fresh seafood from Toyama Bay, traditional crafts like Kaga Yuzen dyeing, Takaoka copperware, and Inami woodcarving. I introduce these spots and historical infra tourism such as Kurobe dam and industrial tourism.

    I also work as a translator. I translated the Japanese firefly squid tourism pamphlet into English in 2020.

    Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Jingu, Shibuya, Tsukiji, and Asakusa The guests were from Europe, visiting Japan on a trip. In their advance message they said they had no particular requests. At the meeting point, we reconfirmed the itinerary I had proposed and started the tour. The guests were active and easygoing, with interests including football, running, and swimming. They had arrived in Japan the previous day and had recovered somewhat from the long journey. On the way to Meiji Jingu, I heard about how they had been doing recently and about their home region in Europe (such as a famous racecourse, a favorite football club, and a well-known cathedral). At Meiji Jingu, a chrysanthemum festival was being held. One of the guests was interested in bonsai, so I shared information about the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum via a messaging app. The next day they were also planning to join an izakaya bar-hopping tour in Shinjuku Golden Gai. Since the day after that, and the days in Tokyo after returning from the Kansai area, were unplanned, I provided information via a messaging app about places such as Yamamoto-tei in Shibamata, Nihonbashi, and a sake shop offering sake tasting in West Asakusa. After Meiji Jingu, I guided them along half of Harajuku's Takeshita Street. At their request to find somewhere easy to enjoy matcha (they had already booked a tea ceremony experience in Kyoto), I took them to a matcha cafe in Omotesando. Enjoying a cafe latte, we then headed to Shibuya. They had visited Shibuya the previous night but wanted to see it during the daytime. I explained the story of the Hachiko statue, connecting it to footage of Hachiko from his lifetime (recently broadcast on TV), and we took photos. The guests were interested in authentic Japanese food, so at Tsukiji I introduced various ingredients and snacks one after another, and they enjoyed wagyu skewers and candied fruit (strawberry and muscat). Since they wanted to try shabu-shabu, I made a phone reservation at a recommended restaurant (confirming the course menu, price range, payment methods, and cancellation policy). The guests said they liked Japanese gardens. At the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, a light rain kept the crowds sparse, making it easy to walk, and the quiet atmosphere went over well. In Asakusa the rain became heavier. After drawing omikuji fortunes at the main hall (one drew a "good fortune" and the other a "bad fortune," but I rephrased the Japanese oracle simply and in a way that would not be discouraging), we parted ways in front of the Kaminarimon gate. Questions kept coming one after another, and I could strongly feel their respect for Japanese culture and customs.

    What Is a Private Nikko Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Rinnoji, Toshogu, and Taiyuin The guests were visitors from North America, visiting Japan for the first time. They had already toured Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Shirakawa-go, and Hida Takayama, and were scheduled to return home the next day. At Rinnoji Temple, the guests listened with great interest to explanations about the differences between temples and shrines, and appeared deeply impressed by the large Buddhist statues in the Sanbutsudo Hall. At Toshogu Shrine, they enjoyed viewing the beautiful Yomeimon Gate, the carving of the three wise monkeys, and the tomb of Tokugawa Ieyasu. At Taiyuin, they listened with interest to explanations about the relationship between the third shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu and the first shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. At Toshogu Shrine and Taiyuin, there were many stairs and climbing them was a little challenging, but since I responded to the guests' wishes, I believe they were satisfied.

    Title: Can You Do a Private Himeji Castle Tour on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report Today there was information that "bullet trains would be suspended one after another due to heavy rain." After confirming by phone with [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), I contacted the guests to let them know: "If you cannot reach Himeji due to the heavy rain, you can receive a refund from both JR and the travel agency. Please contact me if you wish to cancel the tour." The reply came back: "We are currently heading to Himeji on the special rapid train." When the guide arrived in Himeji and contacted the guests, the reply was, "We are eating gyoza right now." In fact, the guests had contacted me the day before, saying, "We will arrive in Himeji earlier than the meeting time. Where should we spend the time?" and I had suggested, "Why not have some gyoza?" The guests arrived right on time. Today's guests were six employees of a certain global company, coming from various countries such as Oceania and Europe. A total of the group came to Japan, and they had divided themselves into two groups. It was raining heavily at the time we gathered. Because of this, I skipped the explanation at Castle View and headed toward Himeji Castle through the arcade-covered Miyuki Street. Even at Himeji Castle, I put off taking photos and headed for the main keep, spending plenty of time explaining things inside the main keep. When we came outside from the main keep, the rain had stopped, so we moved around taking photos at various spots. Today's guests said, "We won't go to Koko-en. We want to go and drink sake," so after Himeji Castle we went to the "Himeji Sake Drink Shop" on the first floor of Egret Himeji. Everyone seemed to enjoy their drinks, and some of the guests were especially fond of it, purchasing several bottles of sake. Because the rain had stopped, a "National Pottery Market" was being held at Otemae Park. The guests said they wanted to go there, so we ended the tour at the sake drink shop. The guests were in very good spirits.

    Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima and Miyajima Tour Like on a Heavy Rain Day? A Licensed Guide's Report Today was very challenging because heavy rain caused public transportation to be suspended. When I met the guests, I mentioned that it would rain heavily, but they did not seem too concerned, saying they were fine with the rain. Inside the museum, disaster warnings from Hiroshima City sounded repeatedly, and the World Heritage Sea Route that we had reserved was temporarily suspended. The JR trains were out of service all day, and the streetcars stopped as well. Because of this, at the Memorial Hall the guests watched a limited-time video about the "Akatsuki Corps," I guided them around the Orizuru Tower, and we had an early lunch. Since I learned that they were traveling in Japan, I really wanted them to be able to visit Miyajima, and just then the World Heritage Sea Route resumed operation, so we purchased round-trip tickets and went to Miyajima. However, soon after, the World Heritage Sea Route stopped again. We received a refund, and fortunately the streetcar happened to be running at that time, so we managed to make it back to Hiroshima Station. As a result, the guests were able to enter a shop that is always crowded without waiting in line, and to enjoy sightseeing at a relaxed pace.

Also, the sea has many islands called “art islands” which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival “Setouchi Triennale”.     What Is a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Yanaka, the Imperial Palace, Akihabara, and Tokyo Tower The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. Their stay in Japan was for a longer trip, with the main purpose being to attend a conference held in Nagoya. After the conference ended, they came to Tokyo this morning. During their stay in Nagoya, they enjoyed a day trip to Kyoto. They planned to stay one more day in Tokyo and then depart from Narita Airport. We were fortunate to have no rain and comfortable weather for the tour. First, we went to the Yanaka area via Ueno Station. I explained the history of Tokyo and Japan. They commented, "Unlike other areas in the city, this is quiet, calm, and pleasant," and "I love this kind of shopping street." We then moved to the Imperial Palace (the East Gardens close at 16:30). I explained "the Edo period and the Meiji Restoration," "why Edo Castle became the Imperial Palace," and "the current challenges facing the Imperial Family." There were also questions such as "Does the Emperor really live inside here?" and "Does the Emperor hold any political power?" Next, we moved to Akihabara. I explained the characteristics of the electronics district. As souvenirs, the guests bought socks and character goods at a discount store. From here, we moved to Tokyo Tower and took photos with the illuminated tower in the background. Regarding "Azabudai Hills," there were questions such as "What is inside?" and "How much is the rent?" After this, we went to Zojoji Temple. It was after closing and the lights were dimmed, but we went inside and took photos with the main hall in the background. Since they said, "We'd like to have dinner before returning to the hotel. Today we'd like to eat something other than Japanese food," we went to Hibiya Midtown. They commented, "There are no homeless people," "There's no trash on the streets, and no trash cans placed around," "For some reason, everyone is so polite," and "There are public restrooms everywhere, and they're all clean and pleasant." They said, "We ate various Japanese dishes in Nagoya, but the grilled eel dish, hitsumabushi, left the strongest impression." They also mentioned, "Tomorrow I plan to go to a stationery store to buy a fountain pen as a souvenir." I saw them off at Kyobashi Station, ending the tour.

In addition, and this too is quite rare, we came across a Shinto wedding ceremony, which the guests observed with great interest. (They were delighted, saying they were truly lucky to be able to see both a cat and a wedding.) They also picked up the popular "Godairiki" small stones and purchased a small amulet pouch. At Kuromon Market, they enjoyed various food and drink samples and bought souvenirs. They also said they would definitely like to visit the shops I recommended (seafood, takoyaki, and so on) after the tour. I explained the route back at Dotonbori, and we parted ways there. Special note: The guests on this occasion were traveling by cruise ship, and as I have experienced several times before, the internet connection aboard cruise ships seems to be unstable. Messaging apps work fine, but when they are not used, as in this case, I found communication very difficult.

    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure

    What Is a Private Hakone Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Ropeway, Pirate Ship, and Owakudani The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. Even though it was near the end of their two-week trip, they were very energetic. The weather was unfortunately poor, but thanks to their cooperation we moved quickly and I was able to guide them on both the ropeway and the pirate ship. At Owakudani, however, I sensed the risk that operations would be suspended due to strong winds, so right after they bought the famous black eggs, we headed immediately to Togendai. As expected, the ropeway was suspended just afterward. The pirate ship was the same, being suspended right after the boat following ours. At Maruyama Bussan, the guests enjoyed the presentation and each did some shopping. Some of the guests had studied Japanese together at university. They seemed to have forgotten quite a lot, but they enjoyed using the few words they remembered.
