Title: What Is a Private Osaka Cruise-Port Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle, Dotonbori, and Doguyasuji The guests were consistently pleasant throughout the tour. They were traveling by cruise, going from Tokyo to Shimizu, Kobe, and Osaka, and planned to continue to Hiroshima and Kyoto. Although they rely on cars in their home region in North America, they said they walk 10,000 to 20,000 steps every day during their tours, and indeed their pace was faster than I expected. Since I did not want to rush them, I kept my explanations to the essentials and let them enjoy the cherry blossoms. They often made jokes, which put me at ease as well. They were surprised that today was the opening ceremony of the Osaka Expo, and seemed intrigued when I connected it with the Osaka Castle Time Capsule Expo '70. One of the guests enjoyed cooking and had hoped to see cooking tools at Kuromon Market, so I shortened our time there and took them to Doguyasuji instead. What was unfortunate was that I could not take them to a very good place for a light meal in Dotonbori. Part of it was the crowds, but even for a stand-up spot, I should have taken them to a more famous establishment. I am always grateful to [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) for their polite and prompt replies. This was my first meet at Osaka Port, and I could not find the meeting place, so I was directed to the Port and Harbor Bureau, but normally I believe anyone can meet at the first-floor entrance of the Tempozan Ferry Terminal. First it is necessary to confirm the ship name and whether it is on the Sakishima side or the Tempozan side, but generally the first-floor entrance can be entered without prior permission. (The terminal is only open on days when a ship is in port.) That is all I wanted to convey.

Title: What's a Private Kyoto Day Tour with the Sagano Romantic Train Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. The weather forecast had predicted rain all day, but it did not rain at all, not just in the morning but throughout the entire day, which was very lucky. For the Sagano Romantic Train (Torokko train), we were only able to reserve a set of four seats on the same side for both the outbound and return journeys. On the return trip, the seats next to where I was sitting alone were cancelled, opening up two seats, so I was able to seat some of the guests there. As a result, they were able to enjoy the scenery from both sides of the train on the outbound and return journeys, allowing them to fully appreciate the views from the Torokko train. The driver, Mr. Hamaya, is also a guide himself and gave us very valuable advice. In particular, I was very grateful for the insights of this veteran driver and guide, such as where to stop in the bamboo grove in the morning and where a vehicle can get closest near Fushimi Inari. Regarding photos, permission was given for publication on the condition that only the adults be shown.

We first visited the monkey park, where the guests were very lively and enjoyed running up the mountain with great energy. After that, we went around the bamboo grove, Tenryu-ji, and Kinkaku-ji, and at every location they enjoyed the beautiful scenery and atmosphere. We had a late lunch at a family restaurant, where they ordered quite a large amount and enjoyed the meal together, sharing dishes among the group.

What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Because the guests were interested in history, [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guided them to Shukkeien Garden and Hiroshima Castle, explaining the castle town of Hiroshima during the Edo period. After that, we visited the Peace Memorial Museum, and since it was not very crowded, the guests were able to view the exhibits carefully. Next, I guided them to an okonomiyaki restaurant near the Atomic Bomb Dome, where they enjoyed okonomiyaki cooked on the iron griddle. However, since the meal took some time, although we had planned to travel by streetcar, at the guests' suggestion we took a taxi to Miyajimaguchi instead. At Miyajima the tide was low, so the guests were able to walk near the Great Torii Gate and enjoy it, and I guided them to Itsukushima Shrine and helped them with their souvenir shopping.

Hello, I’m Kyoko, a certified regional interpreter-guide for Hiroshima Prefecture. I was born, educated, and worked in Hiroshima while raising my children, and I absolutely love this city. I have a deep interest in learning about history and culture, and I enjoy exploring the city and trying out local foods. Meeting people from diverse backgrounds and chatting with them brings me great joy, so I’m really looking forward to helping make your trip to Hiroshima a wonderful and memorable experience.

Hiroshima is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Atomic Bomb Dome and Itsukushima Shrine. The Atomic Bomb Dome is a poignant reminder of history, standing gracefully within a beautiful park. Walking through the park together, we can reflect on the powerful message of peace it conveys. Itsukushima Shrine, famous for its red torii gate floating in the sea, is located on a picturesque island. It’s a place where you can enjoy a truly relaxing and serene time.

I can also guide you to other popular tourist destinations, help you enjoy Hiroshima’s local delicacies such as okonomiyaki, oysters, and conger eel, or assist you with shopping.

I will do my utmost to ensure that your trip to Hiroshima becomes a wonderful and unforgettable memory.

Title: What's a Private Osaka Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle, Shinsekai, and Dotonbori The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. Some of the guests showed interest in the exhibits inside Osaka Castle relating to stone walls and castle construction, while others were more interested in the cityscape and scenery of the town. While waiting in line to enter Osaka Castle, we discussed the street food options for the day. Some of the guests were looking forward to trying takoyaki, though others seemed less interested. We had talked about Shinsekai's kushikatsu and Dotonbori's takoyaki as must-try items, but in the end the only street food enjoyed was a strawberry frappe in Shinsekai. In Dotonbori, the conversation shifted to plans for dinner, so we ended up not trying the takoyaki, which had crowds of people gathered around it.

Title: What Is a Private One-Day Cherry Blossom Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Body: The guests were a family visiting from North America. Because purchasing a day pass at Asakusa Station took a little time, we arrived at Shinjuku Gyoen later than on the previous day. At Meiji Shrine, the restaurant was more crowded than expected, so we decided to have a light meal at the café terrace next door. Since the guests were not very hungry, this may have worked out just right. Since not much shopping was done on Takeshita Street, we had more time to spare in the latter half. At Hamarikyu Gardens, which we visited in the afternoon, a variety of cherry blossoms not seen at Shinjuku Gyoen was in full bloom, and it was more popular with the guests than expected. Because the guests had a reservation at teamLab at 17:00, they asked me to recommend a place where they could spend time until then, so I took them to the observation room at Caretta Shiodome as a final stop before we parted ways.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.

Title: What's a Private Kyoto Walking Tour and Kaiseki Lunch Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Body: [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private walking tour of Kyoto for guests visiting Japan from Europe. The day before, I suggested some lunch options, and the guests replied that anything typically Kyoto-style would be fine. When I asked again on the morning of the tour, we decided on a kyo-style kaiseki restaurant. The guests enjoyed it very much — the owner's animated, gesture-filled explanations were entertaining, and the food was so delicious that they said they ended up eating too much. Thanks to the group's love of conversation, we were able to walk around and enjoy the day thoroughly. At JR Saga-Arashiyama Station, they even dashed the final 50 meters to make sure we caught the train.

While there were not many answers to my questions beforehand, I had received the meeting information and a request for places in Shibuya suitable for spending time with children. As they were staying in Tokyo for only a short period, they also consulted me about plans during their stay, and I shared as much information as I could. After arriving in Shibuya, the guests enjoyed shopping at the Pokémon Center inside Shibuya PARCO and at Nintendo TOKYO, as well as shopping and playing games around Center Gai. At Miyashita Park, they seemed to enjoy the street food stalls and a stroll through the rooftop park. I hope I was able to help them fully enjoy their short stay. The travel between Nihonbashi and Shibuya was by car, so no transportation costs were incurred.

Hello, I’m Miho Ozawa, and I’ve been working as a government licenced guide interpreter for six years in Tokyo. I live in east Tokyo with my family, including my three children, and I love art, gardens, photography and traveling.
It’s such a pleasure to explore this fascinating city Tokyo with you. There are so many things you can do, although sometimes it’s hard to choose what to do within a limited time. I would really appreciate if you could let me know what you would like to do or where you would like to visit in Tokyo. I would be happy to help you plan to make your trip a memorable one. I’m forward to hearing from you and meeting you soon!

What Can You See on a 4-Hour Private Kyoto Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests this time were a group visiting Japan from Europe for sightseeing. The advance communication and itinerary consultation were handled with one of the guests. They had a very strong desire to actively enjoy Japan, and despite booking a short "4-hour" course, they initially made quite ambitious requests, including "Monkey Park" and "Ryoanji," plus "wearing a kimono and enjoying a tea ceremony." I explained: "First, Monkey Park is halfway up a mountain about 500 meters high, and the climb up and down takes nearly an hour, so with the visit included it takes more than an hour and a half. Also, kimono dressing takes over 30 minutes, and a full tea ceremony experience takes more than an hour, so together that would be over two hours. Ryoanji would also take an hour and a half including travel by bus or taxi and the visit itself. This would be difficult within a 4-hour course." This began an exchange of emails to reconsider the plan. After more than ten exchanges, we finally settled on "Monkey Park ⇒ Daikakuji" two days before, but the day before, the reply came that "it seems Daikakuji has already been visited." Since this came near the evening of the previous day, we decided: "Let's prioritize Monkey Park and visit it first, and discuss where else to go tomorrow morning at the hotel." On the morning of the day, we met at a hotel near Kyoto Station, and I immediately presented five options as candidates after Monkey Park: (1) Okochi Sanso, (2) Fukuda Art Museum, (3) Matsuo Taisha, (4) Shopping. The guests showed interest in "Matsuo Taisha," long famous as the "God of Sake," and confirmed it. With that, the course of "Monkey Park ⇒ lunch ⇒ Matsuo Taisha" was finally settled. On the day, the morning was rather cloudy with a forecast of rain, but it never came down heavily, and from noon into the afternoon the sun even peeked out, so there were no problems at all. Monkey Park seemed to be a place they really wanted to visit, and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves feeding the monkeys and taking lots of photos. They also greatly enjoyed the udon at "Arashiyama-tei," where I took them for lunch. At the final stop, "Matsuo Taisha," the guests were in great spirits in front of the "komodaru" sake barrels sent from all over the country, as sake is a favorite. The distinctive dry landscape garden was also splendid, and they were very satisfied. In my career as a guide, it was the first time that an itinerary was not decided until the day before and was finalized only on the morning of the tour, but I was fortunate that the guests were satisfied despite it being a short course.

Hi, everyone! I’m Norifumi Kamon, a government registered guide interpreter. Please call me “Nori”, or “Kamon-san”.
Let me introdece myself. I was born on April 17th in 1952 in Miyazaki prefecture in Kyushu island. I used to be an English teacher of Osaka Prefectural high school. When I retired from a teacher ten years ago, I decided to get a professional guide license. I wanted to play a role of the bridge between Japanese people and the people from all over the world as a second life of mine. After two years efforts, I finally got the guide license. Since then, I have guided several handreds of foreign people mainly in Kyoto and Nara for about five years except Corona Pandemic period. Almost all the tourists were deeply impressed by the beauty of nature, traditoin, culture, and art of Japan. I can surely help you enjoy and be satisfied with the sightseeing in Japan. And I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Kyoto's Higashiyama Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group of friends visiting from the Middle East. While walking up Kiyomizu-zaka, one of the guests mentioned foot pain, so after that we walked at a much slower pace. All of them enjoyed taking photos. One of the guests seemed to be taking pain medication, but after Yasaka Shrine the foot pain gradually seemed to ease, and they walked along happily, taking quite a few videos as well. There was a note in the My Page remarks section, but for lunch the group requested either meat or seafood. I sent three candidate options and had them decide the day before, settling on Kyoto-style kaiseki, but in the evening they decided they would prefer meat after all, so we made a last-minute change again. In the end, the group was very satisfied with the steak lunch and it was very well received.
