    Title: What Does a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour with Cherry Blossoms Look Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group of seven visiting Japan from North America. Based on their requests made in advance and on the day, the itinerary was as follows: Hotel → the Bamboo Grove path in Arashiyama → Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple → Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion) → the cherry blossom garden at Hirano Shrine → lunch → Fushimi Inari Taisha → Sanjusangen-do → Nijo Castle, after which we parted ways. They had been very much looking forward to the cherry blossoms in advance, and although 30 to 40 percent of the blossoms had already fallen, they happily enjoyed taking photos in various poses at the cherry blossom garden of Hirano Shrine. For lunch, since they said they could eat anything, I took them to a restaurant where they enjoyed authentic Japanese cuisine. For guests from Western regions, simmered and dressed obanzai dishes can sometimes be a bit challenging, but on this day everyone finished their meals cleanly. Over lunch, we chatted about our respective pet cats, favorite hamburger chains, and even had an impromptu Japanese language lesson. By the time we finished at Fushimi Inari it was just past 3:00 p.m., and since they wanted to see Sanjusangen-do and also visit Nijo Castle, where admission ends at 4:00 p.m., I gave a shortened 15-minute tour of Sanjusangen-do and then we rushed to make it into Nijo Castle at the last minute. At Nijo Castle, they asked about the relationship between the Emperor and the Shogun. I explained the unique nature of the Japanese Imperial Family (the unbroken single lineage, and the mythological figures said to be their ancestors), and that even the Shogun was someone who bowed before the Emperor, and that this essential nature remains unchanged even today. The guests seemed to find it hard to fully grasp that such an institution could exist in the world, and appeared to find it quite fascinating.

A Licensed Guide's Report on the Imperial Palace, Tsukiji, Akihabara, and Asakusa The guests were a family visiting from North America who had arrived the previous day, making their first trip to Japan. Since the Imperial Palace was close to their hotel, I recommended a walking route for their free day, from Hibiya Park through the Imperial Palace Outer Garden to the East Gardens, and handed them a map with the suggested route. On this day, at a garden terrace, I explained the history related to the Imperial Palace, including the imperial family and the shogun. As they had expressed an interest in history and culture beforehand, everyone listened attentively. They also showed great interest at Tsukiji, where they enjoyed sampling, snacking, and shopping for daifuku mochi, yakitori, and more. Since the guests were interested in anime and games, I took them to the 6th floor of Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara so they could enjoy some free time, and then we moved on to Asakusa. Lunch had been ordered in advance, so there was no waiting, and they enjoyed it very much. After enjoying the Nakamise shopping street, the main hall, omikuji fortunes, rice crackers, and soft-serve ice cream at Sensoji Temple, I guided them to the Kappabashi shopping district as promised beforehand, bringing the tour to a close. It seemed the guests thoroughly enjoyed their first visit to Tokyo.

    Title: What Can You See on a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, Akihabara, Harajuku, and Shibuya The guests were students visiting Japan for the first time from North America. They were visiting Japan during a spring break holiday. They had arrived at Haneda Airport on a direct flight the previous night and traveled via the monorail and the Yamanote Line to Shinjuku, where they stayed at a B&B. They planned to stay in Japan for a total of ten days. The next day, since a relative of theirs lived in Japan, they planned to visit other sightseeing spots in Tokyo, and from the day after next they planned to visit Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe before returning to Tokyo and heading home. The previous night, they had picked up dinner at a convenience store near their accommodation. The tour took place under clear, pleasant weather. First, we went to Asakusa. Despite the early morning hour, it was extremely crowded. I explained about "Senso-ji Temple and the history from Edo to Tokyo," "what a five-story pagoda is," "what Buddhism is," and "the difference between Buddhism and Shinto." There were questions such as "Are there various sects within Buddhism?" "Do people go to pray once a week?" and "Do all Japanese people believe in Buddhism?" We strolled slowly through the Nakamise shopping street. Next, we moved to Tsukiji. There was a large crowd. I explained "the history of the fish market since the Edo period" and "the difference between Toyosu Market and the Tsukiji Outer Market." We looked around various shops, and they took a liking to "sweet potato" treats, which they bought and sampled. There were also questions such as "Why are there so many people here?" "This is the first time I've seen real wasabi," and "Do all Tokyo people come here to buy fish?" From here, we moved to Akihabara. I explained "the origins and history of Akihabara." Both of the guests enjoyed "PC gaming" as a hobby, so they stopped by various shops and compared prices. They commented that "the game shops are far more extensive than back home." After this, we moved to Harajuku. First we went to Meiji Shrine. I explained about "torii gates," "Emperor Meiji," "the history of Edo and Tokyo," "the Meiji Restoration," and "why wine barrels are on display." There was also a question, "How many Christians are there in Japan?" We moved to Shibuya. Despite it being daytime, there was a large crowd. I explained "the history of Shibuya." We walked across the "Scramble Square" area and took commemorative photos in front of the Hachiko statue (they said, "I know about Hachiko from watching the movie"). There were questions such as "Why are there so many people at the scramble crossing?" and "Are they all local people?" After this, they said they really wanted to go to the Pokemon Center, so we went to Shibuya Parco. The store was extremely crowded. They commented, "There's no litter on the streets," "I don't see any homeless people," and "There are no trash cans on the streets." They also commented, "The trains and subways are clean and quiet. No one is chatting. It's completely different from back home," and "The public restrooms are also plentiful and clean." Finally, I saw them off at Shinjuku Station, and we parted ways.

    In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
    Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
    I am a certified CPA in the United States.
    In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
    Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
    My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
    Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
    One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity.     Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from Europe. Since I had received frequent emails in advance, the tour proceeded smoothly. I first guided the guests to Shinjuku Gyoen, which was close to their Hotel. Shinjuku Gyoen offers a wide variety of cherry blossom species, and thanks to its spacious gardens, it is helpful that trees in full bloom can still be seen even into April. Before guiding them to Meiji Shrine, we took a break at a café. I had been told they did not intend to eat much at lunchtime, and in the end they did not have lunch that day, so this became the only break of the day. As they did hardly any shopping, some time remained after strolling through Asakusa, so I decided to give them a brief tour of Akihabara. Since they said there was no need to see them back to their Hotel, I explained how to return from Ueno-Okachimachi Station via the Oedo Line to the nearby Tochomae Station, and we parted ways.

    I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
    I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
    One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.

    Title: What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Temple Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. Early in the morning, we received a message requesting to start the tour a little earlier than the scheduled meeting time, at 9:15, so with the driver's agreement, we began the tour then. After confirming the itinerary, we decided to visit Kinkaku-ji, Ryoan-ji, Fushimi Inari Taisha, and Ginkaku-ji. The guests showed great interest in Japanese culture, including its history, and at each destination they listened happily, nodding along to every part of the explanation. On the way at Kinkaku-ji, we stopped by a woodblock print gallery, where they enjoyed viewing ukiyo-e prints. As they had requested, I introduced a strolling-style garden and a dry landscape (karesansui) garden at a Buddhist temple, and at Fushimi Inari we worshipped together at the main hall so they could experience the atmosphere of Shinto. After Ginkaku-ji, they wished to do some souvenir shopping, so I guided them to the Kyoto Handicraft Center, and as the guiding time had come to an end, we parted ways there.

    Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Kyoto Like from Fushimi Inari to Gion? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe, in Japan mainly to attend the Osaka Expo. Since I had not received any information about their preferred destinations beforehand, we met without a set plan. As they had already visited Fushimi Inari, Gion, and Nishiki Market the previous day, we decided to visit Sanjusangendo, Kiyomizu-dera, and the northern Gion area. They did not seem very interested in detailed explanations at each site, and one of the guests took photographs constantly; when I asked, it turned out they had a strong interest in photography. Coming from a quiet town, they were overwhelmed by the crowds and decided they did not need to enter Kiyomizu-dera. When they got hungry, we visited a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant and an okonomiyaki restaurant, but both were too noisy, so they chose not to go in. Although it was still early, I took them to Pontocho and asked them to find a restaurant where they could relax together, and we parted ways there. I hope the Expo will not be too crowded for them.

    Can You Do a Private Himeji Castle Tour from Osaka? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. When they did not appear at the meeting time, I contacted them via a messaging app, and they told me they had taken the wrong train from Osaka and would be a little late. When I contacted them again, they said they were waiting near the entrance gate of Himeji Castle rather than at the Himeji Castle exit of JR Himeji Station, which we had confirmed. As a result, the tour started about 30 minutes late, but after that everything went smoothly. One of the guests had previously spent time in Japan and showed a strong interest in the country, asking many quite in-depth questions. All of the guests seemed to have a keen interest in plants, and they appeared very satisfied with the visit to Koko-en Garden. At Himeji Castle, the cherry blossoms had mostly passed their peak, but they were still very beautiful to admire. At Sangokubori, the guests were delighted to see a white heron, which is said to be the origin of Himeji Castle's alternative name, "White Heron," a sight that is rarely seen. (They were able to see it again on the way back.) They also appeared very satisfied with the panoramic view of Himeji Castle from the rooftop of Egret Himeji. At the last stop, "Soja Shrine," a wedding ceremony happened to be taking place, and the guests watched it with great interest. (As a guide, it was also my first time seeing a wedding held there.) After the tour, the guests wanted to eat "Kobe beef" in Kobe, so I recommended a couple of restaurants. They also wanted to have a light meal before boarding the train, so we parted ways at "Miyuki-dori." Note) For the first time, a misunderstanding about the meeting place occurred as described above. What had been confirmed was the "Himeji Castle exit" of JR Himeji Station, but on the day itself the guests mistook it for the entrance to Himeji Castle itself. I have never experienced a situation like this before, but I can certainly understand that it could be confusing for foreign visitors. In the future, I would like to confirm that the meeting point is the "Himeji Station North Exit (Himeji Castle exit)," emphasizing that it is the "station."

    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
    and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
    foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
    Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

    I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
