    • 1:00 PM – Meet at the lobby of the Hotel
    • 1:20 PM – Visit Japanese Garden "Shukkeien"
    • 2:45 PM – Hiroshima Castle & Gokoku shrine

    • 5:00 PM – End the tour at the entrance of the Peace Memorial Museum

Title: What's a Private Hiroshima Peace Park Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group of three visiting from North America. One of them was working in Tokyo and had studied Japanese at university, so they understood even complex explanations in Japanese. It was unfortunately raining and rather cold today, but thanks to that there were fewer tourists, and I was able to let the guests take their time at each sightseeing spot. The guests were very interested in the atomic bombing and said they had wanted to hear about it directly from a guide from Hiroshima. They asked many questions, including what kind of feelings people here hold toward Americans. I shared what I have experienced and learned, having been born and raised in Hiroshima. The guests mentioned that they had folded a thousand paper cranes and even showed me photos. Since I had explained in advance that the museum interior is a quiet place where I cannot guide much, and the guests planned to visit the museum on their own after the tour, we took our time exploring the memorial monuments and other sites within the Peace Memorial Park.

    Hello. My name is Mari.
I am a certified local tour guide in Hiroshima.

I was born and grew up in Hiroshima until I entered in a university in Tokyo.
After 6 years in Tokyo, I came back to Hiroshima because I really love my hometown and wanted to spend the rest of my life here.

Hiroshima is very comfortable city to live in and rich in nature.
I am so happy that I have been able to raise my kids here.

Hiroshima is absolutely full of beautiful and historically important places and also the great food.
I am so excited to introduce the wonderful experiences here in Hiroshima and hope you will come to love this place, too.
    Look forward to meeting you.

Title: What's a Private Himeji Castle and Koko-en Garden Tour Like in Cherry Blossom Season? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were part of a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. They arrived on an earlier bullet train than expected, so we met 20 minutes ahead of schedule. I had been informed in advance that the guests needed to store their bags, but the coin lockers on the bullet train transfer floor were all already in use. Furthermore, the guests' bags were too large to fit in the coin lockers. For this reason, we went to a luggage storage service near the station, stored the bags, and then began the tour. On this day (at least at this point) the weather was good and the cherry blossoms were still beautiful, so we were able to enjoy touring Himeji Castle comfortably. Also, at the guests' request, we toured all of the small keeps, which were being specially opened to the public. The guests had also visited Matsumoto Castle and were very pleased to be able to tour all of the small keeps. The guests were delighted that Koko-en Garden was also beautiful, and they took part in a tea ceremony as well. Here too they said, "Matcha is very popular in North America," and were very pleased. After touring Koko-en Garden, they said they wanted to eat ramen, so after retrieving the bags from the luggage storage service, I took them to a ramen restaurant near Himeji Station, where the tour concluded. The guests were very happy with today's tour.

Title: Can You Do a Private Day Trip from Osaka to Naoshima? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Some of the group were friends, and one had lived in Japan for about ten years and could speak a little Japanese. They were staying at a luxury hotel in Osaka and had risen early for a day trip from Osaka to Naoshima. It was unclear exactly what time they would arrive on Naoshima; based on the information from the previous day, the only indication was that they might arrive around 10ish. As on my usual Naoshima route, I took the ferry departing Takamatsu Port at 8:12, arriving at Naoshima Miyanoura Port at 9:02, and waited for their messaging-app contact and their uncertain arrival time. Before we met, I inquired about their location roughly twice. I received replies each time and could tell they were steadily heading toward Naoshima. In my advance communication, I had emailed an itinerary stating "Ferry departing Uno Port at 12:15, arriving at Naoshima Miyanoura Port at 12:35, then meet" (naturally, I had assumed they would read that content carefully). However, they did not get off the 12:35 ferry, which left me puzzled. Shortly afterward, I received a message on the messaging app from one of the guests and learned that they had arrived at Naoshima Honmura Port (12:15) and were waiting there. Following the itinerary, I boarded the bus departing Miyanoura Port at 12:40, met the guests at the Honmura Port bus stop at 12:47, and as a result we were able to head to Tsutsujiso on the bus exactly as originally planned. There are both ferries and high-speed boats to reach Naoshima from Uno, and since the itinerary I had sent said "ferry" and listed the ferry timetable, I had assumed they would come by that route. In the end we were able to meet successfully, but I felt rushed and I think one of the guests was confused as well. Going forward, I felt that a little more confirmation is needed as to whether guests will choose the ferry or the high-speed boat. All three of the guests were friendly people, and after we met I believe I was able to guide them enjoyably. For guests on a Naoshima day trip from Osaka, care is required so that they do not miss the ferry, as they must smoothly use the JR local line between Uno and Okayama and catch the Shinkansen from Okayama, so this always requires attention and consideration. The weather was fine, and I believe they enjoyed the Naoshima day trip. Since the meeting time was still unclear as of the previous day, I consulted with Mr. Hirabayashi of [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/). I am grateful that we were able to complete the tour without any trouble.

Hello. My name is Hisao Kaji. I was born in 1945. I was raised in Takamatsu City from 3 years old. So, I have been living in Takamatsu for around 75 years. I believe I know Takamatsu City and the Kagawa prefecture area very well. If you come to Takamatsu, Kagawa I think you can enjoy your tour with me. I started a Government Licensed Guide in 2019. So, I have been a licensed guide for about 5 years. My favorite destinations are Naoshima, Teshima, Ritsurin Garden, the top of Mt. Yashima and so on. I always show you an itinerary about one month before your tour date, and I will accept any questions, other favorite places you want to visit. Communicating with you, I would like to accommodate your request for your tour. I always listen to NPR on the internet to know how the world is moving and improve my English. I like conversation based upon it with my life. I stayed in the USA for 8 months for a Power Systems Engineering Course conducted by General Electric in New York State when I was 28 years old. I sometimes talk about my memory of those days with the guests. I am very happy to guide tourists because I can see the guests become happy and enjoy themselves when I am guiding better. Nothing is more wonderful than that. I welcome your visit to Takamatsu City and Kagawa Prefecture. I believe you will have a pleasant time through my guide.

Title: What Is a Private Kamakura Tour from Yokohama Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was a visitor from North America. They had arrived that morning at a hotel in the Kannai area from a cruise ship. Because the Yokohama Line was significantly delayed, I took an alternative route, contacted the guest along the way, and arrived about 10 minutes late. The guest mentioned that when trying to register Suica on their iPhone, only Japanese instructions were available, so I showed them how to do it through the Apple Wallet, and since everything could be done that way afterward, they experienced how convenient it was. The guest was very talkative, sharing many stories about themselves and their family, and also listened attentively to what I had to say. Since they were full from the meals on the cruise, we did not stop for food or tea along the way. They were not interested in shopping, and the only purchase they made was a miniature of the Great Buddha at Kotoku-in. As we were ahead of schedule, I suggested Yuigahama, and although a very strong wind was blowing, we walked along the beach. The guest seemed satisfied, so I saw them off at the station near their hotel and ended the tour.

They came to Japan mainly to visit an international expo, and booked this Kyoto tour before their expo visit. One of them was visiting Japan for the first time, while the others had been to Japan several times before. I took them to the Philosopher's Path and Nijo Castle, and then saw them off to a samurai sword-dance theater they had reserved for after this tour. One of the guests kept up impressively well with the walking tour, which surprised me. This guest said they especially enjoyed the Philosopher's Path, where cherry blossoms were falling. The others said they liked Nijo Castle. One of them had visited Nijo Castle in the past, but commented that this time the guide's explanation helped them understand Nijo Castle much better.

Title: What Is a Private Family Day Tour of Kamakura Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Kamakura. It was a day where it was difficult for the parents to relax, as the group required constant attention. Personally, I had no trouble at all — some of the guests even held my hand and were very sweet — but I could sense that the parents were anxious about possibly disturbing others. At the tea ceremony at Hokoku-ji, they would have liked to savor the atmosphere more, but they left their seats early, which felt a little unfortunate (one of the guests was very fond of the rakugan sweets and seemed to want another serving). Even so, to bring a little joy to the guests, I had them press the bus stop button twice (which delighted one of them), feed the carp in the Genji Pond at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, draw a pigeon-shaped omikuji fortune, and pass through the chinowa ring. One of the guests drew a "great curse" fortune, which almost seemed to match the day, but by placing it in the great-curse box and having them grasp the golden part of the arrow, I hope their fortune turned to great luck. Since the group was traveling with young ones, I tried to keep the schedule relaxed, but we ended up hurrying from place to place because it was hard to settle down anywhere, and we had time to spare. When I suggested visiting the Great Buddha, the guests said they wanted to rest at their hotel (they truly seemed tired), so after visiting Komachi Street, we ended the tour one hour early. The guests apologized for the commotion, but I felt it was I who should apologize, so I told them not to hesitate to ask me anything about Kanazawa (where the guests plan to visit next and which is my hometown). The guests were also very grateful for the seaside playground I recommended as a morning play spot, and for the restaurant where we met.

Nice to meet you. I am delighted to introduce myself. My nickname is Danda. I live in Saitama prefecture next to Tokyo, but I was brought up in Kanazawa, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan. My favorite things are bonsai and hiking. Also, I have been a big fun of history and sumo since my childhood. As for the guide, I have enjoyed making communication with foreign visitors since 2019. I have taken more than 30 private groups to not only major scenic spots but also their favorite places such as tea ceremony, maid cafe, sumo tournament, bonsai village, fire ritual and so on. I can arrange the original tour based on your requests and curiosity. It will be only for you. I look forward to meeting you soon. Thank you.

title: What Does a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and Shinjuku Gyoen The guests were a group visiting from Europe, and it was their first time in Japan. After sightseeing in Tokyo, they planned to visit Hakone, Hida-Takayama, Kyoto, and Osaka. At Meiji Shrine, they seemed impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere, which was very different from Shibuya. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to the historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo Shogunate. At Senso-ji Temple, they were interested in the explanation about the differences between temples and shrines. At Shinjuku Gyoen, they appeared impressed by the beautiful cherry blossoms and the Japanese garden. Although it was unfortunately rainy today, I responded to all of the guests' requests, so I believe they were satisfied.

Tokyo in Half a Day: SHINJUKU Golden-gai & IMPERIAL PALACE

    Tour Itinerary

    • 10:30 meet at the 18fl lobby of BELLUSTAR TOKYO
    • 10:45 1. SHINJUKU Golden-gai
    • 11:15 2. MEIJI JINGU SHRINE
    • 12:15 3. KOISHIKAWA KORAKUEN
    • 1:00 4. THE IMPERIAL PALACE
    • 2:15 See off at the Akasaka-mitsuke Station
    • (When taking them to the hotel, they offered that it would be fine just up to boarding the Marunouchi Line,
    • so we parted earlier than scheduled at Akasaka-mitsuke Station)

What's a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided the guests from Europe on a private tour. As we set off from the hotel in Shinjuku's Kabukicho area, the guests expressed a wish to see Golden Gai, so we visited it. They mentioned they would like to come back at night. The guests were deeply impressed by the air, water, and plants at both Meiji Shrine and Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, and I was very glad to be able to show them around. The Imperial Palace grounds are vast and require a lot of walking, so after leaving through the Sakurada-mon Gate and continuing on foot, the guests said their legs were hurting and that they wished to return to the hotel. As a result, we cut the final stops of Hibiya and Tokyo Station, and headed back from Sakuradamon Station via the subway toward the Marunouchi Line.

Welcome to Japan. I hope you are going to enjoy your stay.

    Who am I?
I am a Licensed Guide Interpreter at an age of 61.
I got an early retirement from 36 yrs of the employment in a Japanese financial sector.
I hope I can attend to you with the Japanese politeness, hospitality and smile.

    What can I be expected?
I would like to introduce the photogenic sites, the indigenous experiences
and good Japanese local food around Tokyo, Hakone/Mt Fuji.
I might be able to show you the features of shrine and temple with a religious manner if you’d like.
As a matter of fact, I don’t have a specific religion to believe, though.
I love Japan and that’s why I started a new career as a guide.

    What do I love?
Most of all, my family. I have a wife 56 yrs old, a son 28 yrs old and a daughter 25 yrs old.
I like eating raw fish and sushi, buckwheat noodles and curry rice.

How do I spend my spear time?
I run for 5 km in the morning listening to my favorite music.
I might have a chance to go to a studio program in the fitness club nearby once a week.

I look forward to meeting you soon.
    Thank you.

What's a Private Tokyo Tour Like for First-Time Visitors to Asia? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting Japan from Europe. They were very cheerful people, and as everyone in the group was grown up, they were extremely well-mannered. First, I took them to Asakusa. Since it was their first time in Asia, they said everything was fascinating and memorable, and they truly enjoyed themselves. The whole group drew omikuji fortunes together and shared in the ups and downs of the results. When I recommended ningyo-yaki, they tried it and were delighted, saying it was simple and something you don't find in Europe, yet had a nostalgic flavor. Next, we visited Ameyoko in Ueno, and I introduced it as a shopping street that developed from a post-war black market and still carries the atmosphere of that era. They remarked how very Asian and lively it felt, and mentioned that in Europe there are fish markets with a similar kind of shopping street. Finally, I took them to Tokyo Tower, where we parted ways.

【Tour Report】 – Tour date: April 2025 – Destinations visited: Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park – Guests: The guests (from North America) – Weather: Cloudy, later rain – Activities: ・Guidance on worship etiquette at Itsukushima Shrine ・Kaidan-meguri experience at Daisho-in Temple ・Stroll along Maple Road ・A moment of silent tribute at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park [Details] [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guided the guests from North America on a private tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima. Although I had tried to contact them beforehand through the website, email, and a messaging app, I received no reply, so I headed to the Hotel for the pickup as scheduled while feeling slightly uneasy. When I checked the accommodation details at the Hotel, the reservation name did not match, so I contacted the company just to be sure. Shortly afterward, I was able to meet the guests without any trouble, and I sincerely apologize for any concern this may have caused. The guests enjoy cycling as a hobby and showed interest in the cycling jacket I was wearing. I therefore guided them to the support vehicle and gave them one of the jackets.

Originally, I’m a cycling guide doing cycling tours all over Japan.
But, already done Hiroshima & Miyajima tour more than 400 times.
I traveled many countries in my younger days. I traveled Europe, US, China, India, US, Mexico, Peru Australia, NZ, and so on.
I decided to use this experience to become a guide.
I’m afraid but no tipping required, because cycling guides are not allowed to have tipping in my association. And you do not need to pay for my lunch, because my lunch is prepared by our group.
Please do not hesitate to ask me anything, I’ll change the plan according to your requests.
Thank you for your understanding and please stay connected.
