    Title: What Is a Private Nara Park Day Tour Like for Animal Lovers? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from North America who were great animal lovers and happily walked throughout the day. One of the guests enjoyed outdoor pursuits in nature and even showed me photos of exciting moments in the wild, including a dramatic scene involving a bear. Deep in Nara Park, the guests repeatedly spotted mother deer with fawns in the forest and pointed them out to me. It was the first time I had seen so many baby deer in a single day. One mistake was with the taxi from the Naramachi area to JR Nara Station. Using a taxi app, I intended to have the car come in front of the "Naramachi Information Center," but I entered "Nara Information Center" by mistake, which caused some confusion. Since both the "Naramachi Information Center" and the "Nara Information Center" are located very close to each other, this is something to watch out for.

    Hello! Thank you for choosing Nara! I bet you’ll love Nara. I specialize in Nara because Nara is the unique place where in one day you can cover the history and religions of Japan from the ancient times to the post war era while enjoying rambling in the UNESCO World Heritage park, having communication with lovely deer, surrounded with the beautiful nature.
    I grew up in Nara, went university in Kyoto, enjoyed teaching at high schools and a university in Osaka. The three former capitals of Japan are home to me.
    After retiring from teaching I began guiding so that I can meet various people from various corners of the world with a variety of cultures and backgrounds. Each time I guide, I find it hugely rewarding because I learn a lot from my guests sharing the history, culture and all that I know about Nara, Kyoto and Osaka.
    I used to be a marathon runner, mountain climber and skier though I am not much of them anymore.
    What I especially recommend is to stay in Nara a couple of days and enjoy communicating with friendly deer while visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Nara in early morning, temples and shrines at night are well worth experiencing.

    My name is Tomoko Nakayama. I am 60-year-old and live near Hiroshima station with my husband. I am a pharmacist.
    I like travelling, and I have visited about 20 countries so far.
    I was impressed by the vast nature of Canada. The lakes formed by water flowing from glaciers were emerald green and very beautiful.
    What I felt most in Europe was the difference between Japan and Europe over the ancient architectural styles. In Japan, wooden structures are the norm, but in Europe, there are many marble buildings, and I realized the difference in lifestyle and culture that comes from the difference in climate and topography.
    When I saw the musical Aladdin on Broadway in New York, I was painfully aware of the lack of my English skills.
    I think visiting different places has really helped me to broaden my horizons.
    Currently, I work as a English volunteer, guiding Peace Park, Shukkeien Garden, Miyajima island, and Hiroshima Castle.
    I am studying English hard so that I can more fluently explain the good things about Japan in my own words.

    What's a Private Kyoto Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Oceania, enjoying their first trip to Japan. They ran a business together and remained active in it. Both were in good health and strong walkers, so we proceeded with the tour as planned. However, since they had apparently already visited Kiyomizu-dera the previous day, we switched to a stroll through Pontocho with the guests' consent, ending the tour 40 minutes early. Both had a strong interest in shopping and food, and we had lively conversations along the way. They kindly treated me to lunch, and we enjoyed a good-value conveyor-belt sushi restaurant. They were very interested in Nishiki Market, and since they would be staying in Kyoto for two more days, they said they would come back again. They mentioned they hoped to sell their business soon so they could enjoy traveling.

    Before becoming a tour guide, I worked for a major steelmaking company as an engineer for many years. During my career, I lived and worked in both Germany and the United States for a total of five years. These experiences helped me understand different cultures and ways of thinking, which now helps me connect easily with guests from around the world.

    After retirement, I chose a second career as a tour guide because I truly enjoy meeting people from different countries and sharing Japanese culture, history, and daily life. I have been working as a guide for more than nine years and continue to enjoy every tour.

    I currently live in Tokyo, but I was born and raised in Kobe, near Osaka, and my family roots are in Kyoto. As a result, I have extensive knowledge not only of Tokyo but also of Kyoto, Osaka, and many other parts of Japan. I enjoy introducing both famous landmarks and hidden local gems that many visitors might otherwise miss.

    Title: What's a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Akihabara, and Shibuya The guests were visitors from North America, on a trip to Japan together. It was their first visit to Japan. They arrived at Haneda Airport by direct flight the previous evening and took a taxi to their hotel. This time they were visiting Japan for a short trip. They would stay in Tokyo for a few days, then travel to Kyoto and Osaka before returning to Tokyo and heading home. They told me, "We love Japanese food. We want to try many things and really enjoy it." It was a tour under clear skies, warm enough to feel a bit humid. First, we headed to Asakusa. Since it was early morning, it was not too crowded, but there were many tour groups and groups of school-trip students. We started from in front of Kaminarimon Gate. I explained the history of Senso-ji Temple and the transition from Edo to Tokyo, the purpose of the five-story pagoda, what Buddhism is, and the differences between Buddhism and Shinto. We took commemorative photos in front of Kaminarimon Gate and the five-story pagoda. There were questions such as, "How many Buddhists are there in Japan?" and "Besides Buddhism, what other religions do people believe in?" We moved on to Akihabara. Both were interested in anime goods and computer games, so they eagerly explored several shops. They purchased a small digital camera. They said, "Let's take a little break and have some coffee," so we rested at a café. We moved on to the Imperial Palace. We strolled through the Imperial Palace East Gardens. Here too, there were many overseas tour groups. There was a question: "When is the best time to see the cherry blossoms?" I explained the history from the Edo period to the Meiji era, as well as the Meiji Restoration, why Edo Castle became the Imperial Palace, and why the capital moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. They asked, "Are there no more samurai?" and mentioned, "We are interested in samurai and plan to visit a samurai museum in Kyoto this time." They also asked, "Does the current Emperor of Japan hold any political power?" We moved on to Harajuku, to Meiji Shrine. I explained about Shinto, the torii gate, Emperor Meiji, and why wine barrels are displayed there. There were also questions such as, "What kind of teaching is Shinto?" "When did Shinto originate?" and "How many shrines are there in Japan?" Afterward, we strolled along Takeshita Street, Cat Street, and Omotesando. They commented, "Takeshita Street is famous on social media, but it does not really suit our taste." We headed to Shibuya. First, we walked across the Scramble Crossing, and there was a question: "Why do so many people gather here?" We took photos in front of the Hachiko statue and strolled along Center Street. They commented and asked, "It's amazing that there's no trash on the streets." "Does no one litter in the city?" "This was my first time riding the Japanese subway, and it was very comfortable and convenient." "Why are there no trash cans on the streets? In New York, there are trash cans around the city, yet trash is still scattered everywhere." We parted ways in front of Shibuya Station.

    As a recent group travel record, in October 2023, we have a track record of guiding a group of 33 people from Singapore to Narita Airport transfer plus sightseeing in Tokyo.
    Self-introduction:
    In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
    Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
    I am a certified CPA in the United States.
    In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
    Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
    My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
    Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
    One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

    The guest tended to take modest photos, capturing scenery without appearing in the shots themselves. This was the guest's fifth visit to Japan, and the guest enjoys traveling solo, often hiring a guide at each destination. At the folk history museum, the guest took interest in an old illustrated map of Miyajima. The guest expressed sympathy with the relaxed principles of a religious tradition that does not restrict the actions of its followers (possibly confusing it with another). The guest was not particularly interested in dining spots. I recommended two or three places, but the response was that a convenience store would suffice. The guest had arrived in Miyajima the previous afternoon and had already explored the area beforehand. In the afternoon, the guest planned to climb Mount Misen alone, so the tour concluded earlier than scheduled.

    Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, the Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya The guests were part of a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. (Although the booking listed three, another member of the group, who was studying independently, chose to explore alone.) They had arrived at Haneda Airport on a direct flight the previous evening and taken a taxi to their hotel. This was a short visit to Japan, with a few days in Tokyo followed by Kyoto and Osaka, then returning to Tokyo before flying home. Their wish was simply to see as many places as possible, and they mentioned they loved Japanese food and wanted to try and enjoy many different dishes. It was a hot and humid day under clear skies. We started in Asakusa, beginning at the front of Kaminarimon Gate. I explained the history of Sensoji Temple and the transition from Edo to Tokyo, the purpose of the five-story pagoda, the basics of Buddhism, and the differences between Buddhism and Shinto. We took commemorative photos many times in front of Kaminarimon, the pagoda, and the torii gate of Asakusa Shrine. There were questions such as "How many Buddhists are there in Japan?" and "Besides Buddhism, what other religions do people follow?" We then moved to the Imperial Palace and strolled through the East Gardens. There was a question about when cherry blossoms are best viewed. I explained the history from the Edo period to the Meiji period, the Meiji Restoration, why Edo Castle became the Imperial Palace, and why the capital moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. There were questions such as "Are there no more samurai?" and "Does the current Emperor of Japan hold political power?" Next we went to Harajuku and Meiji Shrine. I explained Shinto, the meaning of torii gates, Emperor Meiji, and why wine barrels are displayed there. There were also questions such as "What kind of teachings does Shinto have?", "When did Shinto originate?", and "How many shrines are there in Japan?" Afterward, we strolled along Takeshita Street, Cat Street, and Omotesando. We then went to Shibuya. First we walked across the Scramble Crossing, then took photos looking down from the entrance to the Keio Inokashira Line platform. There was a question of "Why do so many people gather here?" We also took photos in front of the Hachiko statue and strolled through Center Street. There were comments and questions such as "It's amazing that there is no litter on the streets — it's completely different from home," "This was my first time on the subway, and it was very comfortable and convenient," and "Why are there no trash cans on the streets?" Since they found the way back to their hotel confusing, I saw them off at Suidobashi Station, where we parted ways.

    One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

    Title: What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from North America. Shortly after the tour began it started to rain, and we were caught in heavy rain throughout the tour. Partly to take shelter from the rain, we entered Itsukushima Shrine, and along the way one of the guests mentioned that a necklace had been lost. They said "300…" and laughed, so at first I thought they had bought a 300-yen necklace in Japan. After exiting, we explained the situation at the shrine entrance and were allowed back in to look, but we could not find it. When I asked in more detail, it turned out to be a Gucci necklace. On the off chance, I asked a Shinto priest who happened to be passing by about a lost necklace, and they said there might be something matching that description. I hurried to the window beside the main hall and was asked what kind of necklace it was. Since I had just taken a photo before entering the shrine, I showed it to them, and it was indeed the necklace that had been turned in as a lost item. The guests were very pleased and said it had cost 300 dollars and was purchased overseas, so I was truly glad it was found. On the way back, we walked through the back streets in heavy rain, but there was more traffic than usual, which made walking difficult. In Hiroshima, there had recently been a collision between a traveler and a streetcar, so I informed them of this and urged caution. Before boarding the Miyajima ferry, one of the guests said, "When I tried to close and fasten the umbrella borrowed from the hotel, the handle came off." I called the hotel but could not get through, so when we returned to the hotel I informed the front desk. There was no charge for compensation, and they kindly asked, "Were you injured?" We returned the umbrella and the tour ended. Since recommendations for dinner spots had come up during the tour, we walked together to places such as Minamoa, Ekie, and Fukuya at Ale-Ale A Building before returning to the hotel. That is all.

    Hello! My name is Miki. I was born and brought up in Hiroshima. I enjoy traveling around Inland Sea areas and I enjoy chatting with guests from overseas!

    In Hiroshima, you can see many beautiful rivers and old bridges. Lately, I often take photos of Hiroshima city including bridges and rivers. There are not many tall buildings here, but I know some places you can visit and see the view for free. By the atomic bomb dome, there is a building called Orizuru(paper crane) Tower. You need to pay to go up to the top floor but you can see the view of Hiroshima city and the Miyajima Island(Itsukushima).

    Many tourists from overseas as well as Japan want to visit Miyajima Island. You can see a beautiful shrine from Heian Period which is around 12th century and a huge Torii gate in front of the shrine and it is in the water. There are several ways to visit the island from Hiroshima city. If you are going to stay near JR Hiroshima Station, we will visit the island by JR train and JR ferry. If you are staying in the city area, we can go there by streetcar and ferry, or there is a high-speed boat from Peace Memorial Park pier directly to the island and vise versa.
