At Nezu Shrine, they thoroughly enjoyed passing through the row of red torii gates, though Yanaka did not seem to capture their interest as much. Since they had requested a local, typical Japanese restaurant for lunch, we went to a traditional restaurant. There was a wait of five parties and it took about 20 minutes to be seated, but as always the staff were courteous, the atmosphere was excellent, and they were satisfied to enjoy a delicious meal for the first time in Japanese style on tatami with a low table (they especially praised the stir-fried vegetables). At Yanaka Ginza, at a kimono shop priced at one yen per gram, they purchased one item, which weighed 956 grams and came to 1,052 yen including consumption tax, which also pleased them. As it happened to be the Nezu Festival today, we returned to Nezu once more at the end to see the mikoshi being carried. However, when heading from Nippori to Nishi-Nippori, the JR Yamanote Line was stopped due to an accident and the Keihin-Tohoku Line was also delayed, so we waited nearly 15 minutes on the platform. Back around Nezu Station, they were pleased to film video up close of the lively scene of the mikoshi being carried. Having arrived in Japan two nights earlier via Dubai, and after the demanding schedule of the previous day, one of the guests was tired throughout and rather quiet due to drowsiness, while the other was energetic and enjoyed sightseeing and shopping, chatting with me about various things.

Title: What's a Private Family-Friendly Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, and Nintendo Tokyo The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from Oceania. Everyone was calm, friendly, and full of humor, and it turned out to be a fun tour filled with laughter from start to finish. Based on our correspondence beforehand, I chose spots matching interests such as Super Mario, space, and animals, and since many of the locations were indoors, we were fortunately only slightly affected by the rain. At Meiji Shrine, a Shinto-style wedding ceremony happened to be taking place, which the guests watched with great interest, and they also enjoyed drawing omikuji fortunes. On Takeshita Street, some of the group purchased dolls and squishies. At the Cosmo Planetarium, they were moved by the production of the Japanese planetarium and the whole group enjoyed it together. After a satisfying meal at a sushi restaurant, we headed to the highlight of the day, Nintendo Tokyo. The group carefully searched for goods related to their favorite character, Princess Peach, and were very pleased to successfully purchase souvenirs. Finally, everyone enjoyed ice cream together before heading back, and I saw them off to the Hotel and took my leave.

What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Park Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe who knew each other. From the very beginning the atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly, and everyone shared many stories with me. It rained all day, but they cheerfully said it always rains where they come from, so it was no problem at all, which was a great relief to me. Beforehand, I had received a request to visit Miyajima to coincide with high tide, so I arranged the itinerary accordingly. It happened to be a spring tide with a very high water level, and they were delighted that the misty, rainy scenery looked mystical and wonderful. A wedding also happened to be taking place at the shrine, and a newly married person in a kimono and their family passed right in front of us, which the guests were very pleased to see. Since the footing was poor in the rain, I checked on everyone several times along the way, but they always answered with a smile that they liked walking so it was fine. They were taking many photos, so while asking about their preferences, I took group photos of everyone together at scenic spots. They were also very pleased that the okonomiyaki for lunch had a lot of vegetables, and they told me they try to eat healthily and had come to really like Japanese food. They also showed me photos of festive dishes and of cooking at home, and taught me how to make them. At the Peace Park, they listened to the explanations very seriously, and told me politely how, given the current state of the world, they felt it was very important to be able to learn here and to hear from a local person, thanking me sincerely. Finally, since they had expressed a wish to try yakiniku, I introduced a restaurant on the way back to the hotel and ended the tour. It was a very relaxed and warm tour throughout, and I was relieved that they enjoyed it even in the rain, and grateful to have met such wonderful guests.

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama, and Sanjusangendo I guided a group visiting from Oceania. We enjoyed conversation, including a memory shared by one of the guests, and toured Fushimi Inari and Arashiyama. They listened attentively to my explanation about the syncretic relationship between Shinto and Buddhism. For lunch, they enjoyed udon, which they had requested, at a set-meal restaurant in Arashiyama. Afterward, we decided to skip the planned Nishiki Market and instead headed to Sanjusangendo, located next to the hotel, where they listened with great interest to explanations about Buddhist worldviews such as the concept of the Latter Day of the Dharma. A notable stop on the tour was Fushimi Inari Shrine. Fushimi Inari is one of Kyoto's most iconic Shinto shrines, dedicated to Inari, the deity associated with rice, prosperity, and business. It is especially famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates that form winding pathways up the sacred Mount Inari. Visitors can walk through these seemingly endless gates, which create a striking tunnel effect, and enjoy views over Kyoto as they ascend the mountain trails.

In the pre-tour messages, they requested occasional breaks and expressed a wish to see distinctly Tokyo spots that cannot be found just by walking around casually, so I replied with a suggested itinerary. On the day, we reconfirmed the plan at the meeting point, waited for the guests to finish getting ready, and then began the tour. Since the guests did not have cash on hand, I paid in advance for the Tokyo Metro 24-hour pass (700 yen per adult); during the tour they withdrew cash at a convenience store in Harajuku, did some shopping before we parted, and reimbursed me. As we visited Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street in Harajuku, Ura-Harajuku, and Omotesando, I tried to accommodate the group's walking pace and the crowds as much as possible. At each stop we took time for questions and answers, a matcha takeaway break, and a break in front of an animal cafe. The guests had seemed concerned about the weather (rain) during the tour up until the previous day, but it was only light rain, which was fortunate. We crossed the Shibuya Scramble Crossing and parted with smiles. A notable stop on the tour was Meiji Shrine. Meiji Shrine is a Shinto shrine in Tokyo dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, and it is surrounded by a vast forest of around 100,000 trees donated from across Japan when the shrine was established. A Licensed Guide's Report on Zojoji, Tokyo Tower, Tsukiji, Shibuya, and the Imperial Palace The guest, who had arrived in Tokyo the day before by cruise ship from North America, thoroughly enjoyed today's tour. During our email exchange beforehand, the guest requested a change to the destinations I had originally proposed. Because Senso-ji Temple, Meiji Shrine, and Harajuku were already planned for another tour I would guide the following day, the guest asked to avoid overlap and instead visit Zojoji Temple, Tokyo Tower, Tsukiji Market, Shibuya, and the Imperial Palace. I arranged and carried out the tour exactly as requested, and the guest was very pleased. Although it unfortunately rained in the morning, the guest took many photos at each spot, including the dignified atmosphere and history of Zojoji Temple, the view over the city from Tokyo Tower despite the rain, Tsukiji Market, Ginza 4-chome, the Shibuya Crossing, and the Imperial Palace. The guest also enjoyed eating sushi at Tsukiji Market. During the tour, we had a pleasant conversation about the climate, food, culture, and sports of Japan and North America. In addition, we visited Zojoji Temple and Namiyoke Shrine, where I explained the difference between temples and shrines, as well as how to pass through a torii gate, and the guest learned these customs.

After graduation from the university, I started working at American Life Insurance Company, Japan (Alico, Japan), which is a group member company of AIG, now MetLife Insurance Company. I could have a chance to visit the head office and the field offices of U.S.A., Wilmington in Delaware, New York, Boston, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale in Florida, Los Angeles, while I was working for Alico, Japan (Now, MetLife Insurance company).
I had been working for MetLife Insurance Company for about 38 years, in total.
After retiring from the life insurance company, I started working as a tour guide, because I wanted to become a tour guide to introduce culture, history, and manners and customs of Japan in English. It’s so different between my previous job and the guide business, but I like guide business a lot.
I can meet so many people from all over the world and the guide business has been thriving after the pandemic.

Not only Tokyo, but I have experienced touring around Nikko, Kamakura, Mt. Fuji & Hakone area, Takayama, Kanazawa, Nagoya, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Hiroshima, etc. which are all very famous as a tourist spot in Japan.
If you go on a tour in Tokyo, you must see and visit Asakusa Sensoji Temple which is the oldest Buddhist Temple in Tokyo with histories and Nakamise Shopping Street where you can buy the souvenirs and try to taste Japanese sweets, such as doll cake which is the sponge cake in various shapes filled with red bean paste and Japanese powdered tea ice cream. Another my recommendation in Tokyo to visit is Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, and Shibuya. Meiji Shrine is one of the biggest shrines in Japan with quiet and peaceful atmosphere and magnificent site.
Harajuku and Shibuya are both fun to visit for shopping and experience the Shibuya Crossing.
I usually propose my tentative itinerary and ask if my plan is all right with the customer or not. My hobby is traveling around Japan and foreign countries and going to the gym for exercise.
I would like to work as a guide as long as possible if I’m in good health and my legs are strong, because I love this job.
I put my importance on the mind of OMOTENASHI which means sincere hospitality, though safety during the tour takes precedence, number one priority, before anything else.

Title: What's a Private Osaka Food and Shopping Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were older visitors from North America who arrived in Japan by cruise ship after a voyage of more than twenty days. They seemed to be great admirers of Japan, and one of them had studied Japanese beforehand and spoke a little of the language. When the guide arrived at the meeting point more than thirty minutes early, the guests were already waiting, so we started ahead of schedule. The main goals of the tour were to enjoy local Japanese food and to shop for souvenirs requested by family members. At the first spot, they purchased Japanese anime character goods requested by the family. On Doguyasuji, they made a very large number of purchases, including chopsticks, a tea whisk for the tea ceremony, and knives (seven or eight of them). At Kuromon Market, they enjoyed roasted chestnuts, black soybean tea, pickles, dried wakame, fatty tuna, and takoyaki, and said they were very satisfied. Since they had eaten so much, they passed through Dotonbori rather quickly, but they stopped at a drugstore and bought some cosmetics. They interacted very warmly with the staff there and even gave them a small gift. We then headed to the final spot, Shinsaibashi. At the Studio Ghibli shop inside "Parco," said to be the largest in the Kansai region, they again bought a great many goods for their family. (They frequently exchanged messages with their family in North America on their phone.) After that, they took a break at the food court in the basement of a department store before returning to the hotel. The guide presented them with a handmade drawstring pouch made by the guide's sibling, which delighted them greatly. On this occasion, the guests' main purpose seemed to be purchasing knives, a tea whisk, and Ghibli goods. (One of them mentioned already owning several Japanese-made knives.) They were able to shop almost exactly as they had hoped and said it was a very satisfying tour, adding a comment that they would love to visit Japan again. Once again, the guests were kind and warm-hearted, and it was a genuine pleasure to guide such friendly people.

Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Shibuya, and Meiji Shrine Although there were some light showers, they did not interfere much with the tour, and everything proceeded smoothly. We arrived a little ahead of the meeting time, but once the guests arrived, we started. At Tsukiji, in addition to the outer market, I guided them to various shops, but they only had a little of the Shine Muscat grapes that I had bought to try, so we progressed faster than expected. At the Shibuya crossing, they simply took a commemorative photo in front of the Hachiko statue, commenting that they had "just wanted to come and see it." Since they walked quickly, we headed to Meiji Shrine via Cat Street. There were two wedding ceremonies taking place, and they seemed delighted to take photos. Allow me to introduce myself. I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter of Japan and an expert in Japanese history and culture, and also in nursing and health. I usually work as a Public Health Nurse (PHN) at a Public Health Center in Tokyo, and I hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Additionally, I have a Ph.D. in medical science.
Born in 1957 and raised in Tokyo, I have worked for 33 years mainly in the research and development area for some pharmaceutical companies. Then, I changed my career to nursing and entered a university to obtain a PHN and RN license. I took the Licensed Guide for preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and volunteered in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2021.

What Can You See on a Private Tour of Asakusa and Shibuya in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a bright and friendly group. Since they had not yet been anywhere in Tokyo and asked me to take them to recommended places, I suggested visiting Asakusa for its old-town atmosphere and Shibuya for its modern-city atmosphere, and we visited both. In Asakusa, we looked at souvenirs, drew omikuji fortunes, and enjoyed soft-serve ice cream and candied strawberries. We also stopped by a character goods shop, where a member of the group considered souvenirs for friends. In Shibuya, we took photos in the middle of the famous crossing and strolled through the shopping street. We had planned to visit the Pokemon Center, but along the way the group said they were hungry and wanted ramen, so I recommended a ramen restaurant. At that point it was 17:50, and since they said they could eat ramen and then go to the Pokemon Center on their own, we ended the tour. The approach to the temple, known as Nakamise-dori, is lined with shops selling traditional snacks and souvenirs, making it a lively place to experience old-town Tokyo. The temple's iconic Kaminarimon, or Thunder Gate, with its enormous red lantern, is one of the most photographed sights in the city.
