    Can You Do a Private One-Day Tour of Tokyo Covering Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Shinjuku? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) led a private one-day tour of Tokyo for a group visiting from North America, who were longtime friends. At Tsukiji Outer Market, the guests enjoyed eating their way through more dishes than expected, and with some drinks along the way, they were delighted with everything (they were seriously saying they wanted to come back). At Senso-ji Temple, before entering the main hall, we stopped at a specialty matcha shop for something to eat and drink. Lunch afterward was at a sushi restaurant of their choice, where they were all able to sit at the counter and seemed very pleased. At Kappabashi Kitchenware Street, one of the guests purchased a kitchen knife and ordered it with an engraved name. At Shinjuku Gyoen, it was a bit disappointing that, given the season, there were no prominent flowers in bloom, leaving the garden feeling somewhat quiet. Since the guests wanted to walk back from Shinjuku Gyoen to the Hotel, I walked partway with them and parted ways once we had confirmed the route to the Hotel. Afterward, I received a message of thanks from the group's leader, so I believe they were satisfied with the tour.

    Can You Do an 8-Hour Private Tokyo Tour Covering Tokyo Tower and Skytree? A Licensed Guide's Report The sun barely shone and there was almost no rain, so the tour proceeded smoothly. It was a long day of eight hours, and the guests walked a great deal, so by the end there was some fatigue. There was a specific request to visit both Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Skytree, which made for an unusual eight-hour course. At Tokyo Tower, the guests went up to the observation deck and were able to faintly make out the silhouette of Mount Fuji. At Tokyo Skytree, we talked about the structure and features of Skytree from the rooftop of Skytree Town. The guests seemed interested in the technical details. In Golden Gai, there was a request for a bar where draft beer could be enjoyed, and although it was a little before opening time, I confirmed their wishes and guided them there, bringing the tour to a close.

    What Is a Private Hiroshima and Miyajima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The group came to Hiroshima for the first time. They cheerfully said that everything in Japan was delicious and beautiful. They took their time viewing the Peace Memorial Museum. Although it was unfortunately rainy, some of the guests said they liked the rain and declined the umbrellas I had prepared, spending the whole time in rain jackets instead. One of the guests preferred a certain style of meal, and since they wished to try okonomiyaki, I took them to an okonomiyaki restaurant that could accommodate their request. On Miyajima, they tried oysters. While waiting for the boat, they stocked up on food at a convenience store, and altogether they were a group with a hearty appetite.

    Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called “art islands” which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival “Setouchi Triennale”. In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. Personally, I am very passionate about modern art and enjoy sports like stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) on our rivers.

    What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, Harajuku, and Shibuya The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. The group had relocated from Asia many years ago. They had arrived in Japan a few days earlier, and after staying near a theme park, they arrived at their hotel by taxi this morning. Their overseas trip was mainly to visit relatives in Asia. After staying there for a while, they stopped in Japan on their way home, saying they intended to enjoy a short vacation. They planned to enjoy shopping the next day and to fly home the day after. The tour took place under cloudy skies in fairly hot and humid weather. Throughout the entire route, we moved while pushing a stroller and using elevators. First, we headed to Asakusa. As always, we made our way through the huge crowds while pushing the stroller. We started in front of Kaminarimon Gate. I explained about "Sensoji Temple and the history from Edo to Tokyo," "what the five-story pagoda is for," "what Buddhism is," and "the difference between Buddhism and Shinto." We took commemorative photos at Kaminarimon, in front of the five-story pagoda, and at various other spots. We took a leisurely stroll along the Nakamise shopping street. There were questions such as "What are the major religions in Japan?", "How many Buddhists are there in Japan?", "Besides Buddhism, what other religions do people follow?", and "Are there Catholics in Japan?" After this, we headed to Tsukiji. As usual, it was extremely crowded with tourists. We strolled through the "Tsukiji Uogashi" and then went to the "Outer Market." I explained about "the history of Tokyo's fish market since the Edo period" and "the difference between Toyosu Market and the Tsukiji Outer Market." There were questions and comments such as "Do all Tokyo residents come here to buy fish?" and "It's crowded, but it does seem like there are a lot of tourists." Since they had not had breakfast, they wanted to eat sushi here, so we went to a sushi restaurant. After that, we moved to Harajuku. I explained about "Shinto," "torii gates," "Emperor Meiji," "why sake barrels are displayed," and "why wine barrels are displayed." There were questions such as "What kind of religion is Shinto?", "This is completely different from Sensoji Temple," and "How are Buddhism and Shinto different?" We took a leisurely break at a cafe near Meiji Shrine. From here, we moved to Shibuya. We actually crossed the scramble crossing at Shibuya. There were questions such as "Why do so many people gather here?" and "Why did it become so famous?" We also took photos in front of the Hachiko statue. There were comments and questions such as "Japanese people are all quiet and polite. It's quite different from New York," "The city is clean and there is no litter on the ground," and "Why are there no trash cans on the streets?" I saw them off at their hotel, and we parted ways.

    In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
    Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
    I am a certified CPA in the United States.
    In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
    Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
    My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
    Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.

    What's a Private Toyosu Tuna Auction and Tsukiji Market Food Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report 1. Tour Highlights and Guest Reactions This was a private guided tour for the guests. They thoroughly enjoyed the tuna auction, and when they heard that an average of 200 tons of tuna is auctioned off per day, they were amazed that such a large amount of tuna is consumed in Japan. After watching the auction, the guests enjoyed a sushi breakfast at a sushi restaurant inside the market. The course included eel sushi, and at first one of the guests was doubtful, saying, "Can you really eat eel?" But after trying it, they liked it very much. They also tried conger eel, and were satisfied, saying, "I've never eaten this kind of sushi in my own country." The guests enjoyed tuna, salmon, yellowtail, eel, seared fatty tuna, and conger eel, and in the end they told me the eel was the most delicious, which was a relief. At Tsukiji, since it was very early in the morning and the guests were not yet hungry, I introduced some of my recommended shops, marking each one on a Tsukiji map and handing it to them. Since the main shops open after 8:00, they planned to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the market after the tour. 2. Other Comments and Notes Nothing in particular. On this tour, the guests are always satisfied with the dynamic atmosphere of the auction and the fresh food at the market, and they finish the tour with smiles, so it is an enjoyable tour for me as a guide as well. I would like to keep thinking of interesting stories to share and continue to refine the tour content so that guests can enjoy it even more.

Their main request was, "First, please teach us how to use the transportation system in Tokyo." The weather was clear but hot and humid throughout the tour. We headed to Asakusa, which was extremely crowded as usual. We started in front of Kaminarimon Gate. I explained "Sensoji Temple and the history from Edo to Tokyo," "what the five-story pagoda is for," "what Buddhism is," and "the difference between Buddhism and Shinto." We took a short break at the cafe terrace at Meiji Jingu. From there we moved to Shibuya. First, we took photos looking down at Scramble Square from the entrance of a train platform, and then actually crossed the intersection.     Self-introduction:
    In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
    Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
    I am a certified CPA in the United States.
    In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
    Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
    My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
    Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
    One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

    What's a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. They had already been to Tokyo Disneyland and had moved to Shinjuku the previous night. We first headed to the Tsukiji Outer Market, where the guests enjoyed trying local seafood and various Japanese-style foods. At Namiyoke Shrine near the market, I explained Shinto beliefs and how to worship, and the guests actually performed the rituals themselves. They showed strong interest in customs unique to Japan and appeared deeply impressed by Shinto. From Tokyo Station to the Imperial Palace, I explained the history of Japan's imperial family, its ancient capital, and related customs, and the guests seemed surprised to learn that Japan is a country with such a long history. After the Shibuya crossing, we headed to Meiji Shrine, where the guests worshipped following the customs they had already learned, and they were delighted to purchase goshuin stamps and omamori charms. Finally, we went to Shinjuku Golden Gai, where the guests enjoyed the Godzilla head. Since they wished to continue shopping in the area, we ended the tour there.

    What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Park Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a lovely and warm group visiting from Europe. They arrived around 10:00 and had already seen the Atomic Bomb Dome and part of the Peace Park on their own. For their plans in Japan, they had arranged their itinerary to follow exactly the record of a trip that their family members had taken to Japan a few years earlier. On the ferry heading to Miyajima, they kindly showed me various photos of their family. It rained quite heavily in Miyajima that day, making the footing poor, so after leisurely enjoying Itsukushima Shrine, they skipped visiting Daishoin Temple and Senjokaku, and instead took their time exploring the Omotesando shopping street before heading to Hiroshima. After arriving at their hotel and taking a shower, they planned to go to Okonomimura, which had been recommended by their family. I thought that if the rain had been lighter, they would have been able to sightsee much more comfortably.

    What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from Oceania. As they were about to travel around various parts of Japan on a group tour for the next two weeks, I gave them an overview of Japanese history and started the tour from the observation deck of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Luckily, we were able to see Mount Fuji in its summer appearance, which made for a promising start. Next, we walked around Meiji Shrine while I explained about religion in Japan. After Harajuku's Takeshita Street, we went to Tsukiji, where the guests said they were hungry, so we had a sushi lunch. They were able to fully enjoy the taste of authentic sushi at a long-established restaurant.

    What Does a Private Full-Day Tokyo Tour Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, Yanaka, and Senso-ji The guests were a group from North America. Some of the guests had previously lived in Japan for a couple of years, while others were visiting for the first time. They planned to travel to Kyoto after sightseeing in Tokyo. At Meiji Shrine, the guests seemed impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere, which was very different from Shibuya. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo Shogunate. In Yanaka, the guests showed strong interest in the grave of Tokugawa Yoshinobu at Yanaka Cemetery. At Senso-ji Temple, they listened with interest to explanations about the differences between temples and shrines, as well as the Kaminarimon Gate. Since I responded to the guests' requests as they wished, I believe they were satisfied.
