Can You Do a Private Kyushu Day Tour on a First Visit to Japan? A Licensed Guide's Report This was the group's first visit to Japan, and they were about to travel from Kyushu all the way to Hokkaido. Since it was their first time in Japan, they were delighted by everything they saw. The tour had been arranged entirely by one of the guests without going through a travel agency. They had booked one-day tours to Mount Aso the next day and to Yufuin and Beppu the day after, giving the impression of guests who arrange everything online these days. We skipped lunch and focused on the trip. I explained and demonstrated how to find the Shinkansen platform for going to Hiroshima, as well as how to use the buses and subway, which they said would make the rest of their travels much easier. One of the guests loved taking photos. It began to rain heavily in the afternoon, but I made an effort to take underground passages and similar routes as much as possible to avoid the rain.

Title: What's a Private Walking Tour of Meiji Shrine and Shinjuku Gyoen Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Oceania. We began at Shinjuku Station, where I assisted with purchasing Shinkansen tickets. At Meiji Shrine, I explained Japanese history, the differences between shrines and temples, and the significance of Meiji Shrine as we made our way to the main hall. The guests were delighted to see a wedding procession that happened to be taking place. After the visit, we strolled along Takeshita Street, took in a view of the city from the rooftop garden of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku "Harakado," and then traveled by subway to Shinjuku-sanchome. Although the rain began to fall heavily, the guests were deeply impressed by the Japanese garden within Shinjuku Gyoen, and after our walk they enjoyed matcha at a rest area before we left the grounds and ended the tour.

The guests had just arrived in Japan by plane the day before, and although it was their first visit to Japan, they showed no signs of fatigue, walking a considerable distance and moving up and down between floors at subway stations without any difficulty. Since it was their first time in Japan, I received many questions from the group and answered each of them appropriately. They mentioned that they usually do not eat heavy lunches, so on this day they only had a diet cola at a cafe in Asakusa. The guests took many photographs, and I believe they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were satisfied with the tour.

I have worked as a diplomat for 48 years until last year(2024), so I think I am good at explaining anything about Japan in English. Though I’m a novice as tour guide, l promise that I will make detailed and thorough preparations for guiding you and to make your trip smooth and enjoyable. I myself like to experience various means of transportation and interested in local culture, history and food. You may be a bit concerned about my age(71 years old), but I am quite fit for work. Just to prove this I wish to say that I played 5 rounds of golf this summer month of August, 2025.

Title: What Is a Private Nagasaki Tour Comparing Hiroshima and Nagasaki Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe. Since they had already visited Hiroshima and wanted to understand the differences between Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I tailored my guiding accordingly. Even though they had already seen Hiroshima, they examined the Atomic Bomb Museum very carefully. They paid particular attention to the Peace Statue. At Dejima, which was historically a hub of exchange with Europe, they took their time exploring, and it was memorable how proudly they spoke about having previously visited related ceramics and the Siebold House in Europe.

Hello, I’m Rikako, but please call me Coco. It would be my absolute pleasure to show you around my hometown of Nagasaki. Having performed in the Nagasaki Kunchi Festival in my childhood, I developed a deep interest in history and cultural exchange. This motivated me to become a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter during my university years. Since then, I have gained valuable experience—from assisting ambassadors at the Nagasaki Peace Memorial Ceremony to handling a wide variety of tours, including private and coach tours, site inspections, international conference support, and VIP hospitality.
Explaining about Nagasaki’s history and culture is the most important to me. It is not only about this. I would love to provide genuine care so that your time in Nagasaki remains in your heart forever.
I’m truly looking forward to guiding you in Nagasaki 🙂

What Is a Private Osaka Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group of visitors from Asia. The booking was made through a travel agency. No information other than the guests' names was provided by the travel agency, and the itinerary, arranged at the travel agency's request, was set to quickly cover five highlights of Osaka, with the same itinerary communicated to the guests. However, what the guests actually wanted was to visit Osaka Castle and to shop for second-hand brand-name bags, so a lot of time was spent shopping. Because the items were expensive, they were unable to make their final selections during the tour, so I ended up accompanying them for shopping again the following day before concluding the tour.

Title: What Is a Private Two-Day Tokyo Tour With the Same Guide Like? A Licensed Guide's Report This was a private tour continuing from the previous day, guiding the same group along with an acquaintance. In advance, I informed the guests that we would first visit the Tsukiji Outer Market, and that they could enjoy fresh seafood and other local specialties there. The guests requested that we move the departure time one hour earlier, and the driver was able to make the adjustment just before we parted ways on the previous day. Having the same guide assigned for both October 3 and October 4 was helpful; however, the driver was not the same on both days, which caused some inconvenience. When placing the order with the taxi cooperative association, I believe both days should be specified with the same driver, just as is done with the guide.

Welcome to Japan. I hope you are going to enjoy your stay.

    Who am I?
I am a Licensed Guide Interpreter at an age of 61.
I got an early retirement from 36 yrs of the employment in a Japanese financial sector.
I hope I can attend to you with the Japanese politeness, hospitality and smile.

    What can I be expected?
I would like to introduce the photogenic sites, the indigenous experiences
and good Japanese local food around Tokyo, Hakone/Mt Fuji.
I might be able to show you the features of shrine and temple with a religious manner if you’d like.
As a matter of fact, I don’t have a specific religion to believe, though.
I love Japan and that’s why I started a new career as a guide.

    What do I love?
Most of all, my family. I have a wife 56 yrs old, a son 28 yrs old and a daughter 25 yrs old.
I like eating raw fish and sushi, buckwheat noodles and curry rice.

How do I spend my spear time?
I run for 5 km in the morning listening to my favorite music.
I might have a chance to go to a studio program in the fitness club nearby once a week.

I look forward to meeting you soon.
    Thank you.

What Is a Private Kanazawa Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from the Middle East, on a repeat visit to Japan. They mentioned they had been to Japan several times before. At Oyama Shrine, they showed great interest in the cast bronze statues and metalwork sculptures, sharing that they create art in that field. Since I had heard beforehand that walking might be difficult, I made a point of planning the tour to minimize physical strain by including rest breaks along the way, yet we were still able to visit all of the planned sites, which the guests were very happy about. The weather forecast had been poor, but it managed to hold up, which was a great help.

What Is a Private Car Tour of Tokyo Like Before a Yokohama Cruise? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided a group visiting from North America. It was their first day in Japan, and they were departing on a cruise from Yokohama the next day. We traveled by car to the places the guests requested. It started to rain, but the driver kindly lent umbrellas to the guests, which was a great help. For lunch, they chose noodles, so we went to an udon restaurant, and they were delighted, saying it was very delicious. At Senso-ji Temple, they received an omamori charm. Since the itinerary progressed faster than planned, we strolled around the Yanaka Ginza area as they wished. One of the guests liked cats, so they bought an umbrella at a shop selling cat goods, and were also very satisfied to purchase cat-themed plates and other items at a tea-utensil shop. After the itinerary ended, there was still a little time, so I asked whether there was anywhere else they would like to go. They preferred to return to the hotel, so we finished a bit early. The tourist spots were very crowded, but since it was a Saturday, the roads were clear. The guests were on the quieter side, but they gave me words of gratitude at the end, which was a relief.

Hello!! I’m Takako. Thank you for seeing my page. I’ve been showing guests around Tokyo, Yokohama and Kamakura for over six years. There are various things from historic sites, shrines and temples to cultural spots, good restaurants and anime shops in Japan.
I love watching sumo wrestling, Japanese traditional sport.
My favorite place is Tsukiji food market. It’s really exciting and you can enjoy a variety of delicious foods.
I also like visiting Japanese gardens such as Hama-rikyu Gardens and Rikugien Gardens.
Please let me know what interests you.
I would be happy to make a suitable tour for you and help you stay in Japan comfortably.

Can You Do a Private Day Tour of Asakusa, Fukagawa, and Tsukiji in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour was originally planned for two guests, but since one of them ended up returning home that day, only one guest joined the tour. This guest had extended their stay in Japan and planned to travel to the Kansai region later that day. The guest's late grandparent was Japanese, so they had some familiarity with Japanese cuisine, and the sukiyaki I took them to for lunch in Asakusa was especially well received. I was told that, had the colleague who had accompanied them the previous day also been present that day, this dish would not have been chosen out of consideration for that person's preferences, so I was glad the guest could fully enjoy it. Afterwards, we had originally planned to visit Meiji Shrine, but taking into account the time of the Shinkansen to the Kansai region, I reorganized the itinerary so that we could arrive near the Hotel around 2:00 p.m., and I took the guest to the Fukagawa Edo Museum and the Tsukiji Outer Market.

Hello, my name is Yui, and I am a licensed tour guide interpreter.

I mainly guide visitors in and around Tokyo, where you can experience both the excitement of modern city life and the charm of traditional culture. Japan is a country where history and the present exist side by side, and this unique balance makes every visit full of discoveries. I believe there is always something that will capture your heart, whether it is food, fashion, history, or daily life in Tokyo.

Since I also work as a Japanese language teacher, I can help you learn a few simple phrases during the tour if you are interested. Using Japanese to greet or chat with locals will surely make your trip even more enjoyable and memorable.

I hope you will take home wonderful memories, and I sincerely wish you enjoy your stay in Japan.

What Can You See on a Private Weekend Tour of Tokyo's Ueno and Imperial Palace? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were traveling together and had come to Japan at the end of a three-week trip, so they appeared quite tired, but when I took them for a sushi lunch in Ueno, they told me it was delicious and that it gave them a boost of energy, which was wonderful to hear. Since one of the guests had a strong interest in samurai and wanted to see Japanese history and culture, and since they had also booked a tour for two consecutive days including the following Monday, I incorporated the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace and the Tokyo National Museum—both closed on Mondays—into the Sunday itinerary.
