What Is a Private Day Tour of Nara from Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, and it was a pleasure to guide them. I met them at Kintetsu Nara Station, near their hotel in Osaka. We met shortly after 10:00, and right away purchased a one-day bus pass, boarded the bus, and headed to Yakushiji Temple. When I explained that the number of buses was limited, they were very cooperative. As animal lovers who keep two dogs at home, the guests greatly enjoyed interacting with the deer at Todaiji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine. They also requested to visit Yoshikien Garden, so we stopped there before Todaiji Temple. They especially loved the moss garden. Overall, the guests thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

What Is a Private Day Tour of Hakone Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Hakone. One of the guests enjoyed vehicles, so we made an effort to secure the front row on the cable car. We also secured the front position on the ropeway, but heavy fog meant zero visibility and Mount Fuji could not be seen; even so, the guests enjoyed the famous black eggs. On the pirate ship there was fairly good visibility, and we took photos on the upper deck. At Hakone Shrine, I introduced the basics of Shinto and Buddhism beforehand, which made the visit more meaningful. One of the guests wanted to go quickly to the puzzle box shop I had introduced earlier and also wanted to have ice cream, so we agreed to go after finishing lunch properly. We enjoyed a meal at a local eatery and got the ice cream, then had a fun presentation at Maruyama, obtained a puzzle box, and ended the tour.

What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. They had traveled to Osaka and Kyoto beforehand. Some of the group hoped to see koi carp, some wished to visit a temple, and others wanted to go to Shibuya. Unfortunately it was a Monday, so the East Gardens were closed and Senso-ji Temple was being cleaned, so I took them to the Kyu-Shiba-rikyu Gardens instead, but there was only one colorful koi carp there, which was a bit disappointing for them. I recommended the East Gardens for the next day, but fortunately the koi carp at Senso-ji Temple had returned. Perhaps it was thanks to one of the guests drawing an excellent fortune. Since they had signed up for a tea ceremony experience after the tour, we parted ways at Senso-ji Temple.

Hyogo in Half a Day: Himeji Station & Kokoen Garden

    Tour Itinerary

    • 10:30 Himeji Station
    • 11:00-12:45 Himeji Castle, Nishinomaru
    • 13:00-14:15 Kokoen Garden
    • 14:20 Tour ends

What Is a Private Himeji Castle Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. They showed great interest in Himeji Castle and listened attentively to the explanations. We entered through the Hishi Gate of Himeji Castle and climbed to the top floor as usual, and I introduced sights visible from the windows, such as Ieshima. Since it was a larger group, it took some time to keep everyone together, but we proceeded as planned to the Nishi-no-Maru and the Senhime Palace and went inside. Along the way, we were able to see a cormorant's nest up close, and everyone was captivated, taking photographs. After walking around Koko-en Garden, we concluded the tour. Since the guests had mentioned going to Mount Shosha afterward, I ended the tour a little earlier, but as they wanted to return to Himeji Station by 5:00, I suggested that rather than pushing themselves, they might enjoy coffee or local food within Himeji City instead, and so they decided to skip Mount Shosha.

On the day of the tour it was a humid day with a break in the rainy season, but we visited Sumiyoshi Taisha, Osaka Castle, and Dotonbori. The guests were very curious not only about Japanese history and culture but also about the unusual things they saw along the way, asking many enthusiastic questions, and the enjoyable four hours full of conversation passed in no time. What Is a Private Tokyo Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Tsukiji Market, and Yanaka The guests were a group visiting from North America, and they told me they normally live in different places. At the first stop, Meiji Shrine, they looked at the plants and greenery in relatively fine detail. At Tsukiji Market, they wanted to try many different kinds of food, so they adopted a style of buying just one item and sharing it among everyone, sampling a truly wide variety of dishes such as meat sushi, octopus crackers, and sweet potato chips. At the final stop, Yanaka, they loved the atmosphere very much, and when I introduced a shop serving lemon sour, they shared a single glass among the whole group as well.

What Is a Private Nagasaki Cruise-Port Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour began at the international cruise terminal in Nagasaki. I had been waiting in front of the terminal exit from 11:00 for an 11:30 meeting, but the guests had disembarked a little earlier and were in a different spot, so they came over to me and we were able to meet without trouble. The reservation was for the group. We first traveled by streetcar from Ourakaigandori to Ishibashi, then used the Skywalk and other routes to reach the second gate of Glover Garden, where we entered. At Glover Garden, I introduced the modernization of Japan during the Meiji era and the achievements of Mr. Glover, who was involved in it. After leaving Glover Garden, we soon arrived in front of Oura Cathedral, where I explained the episode of the "Discovery of the Hidden Christians." When I asked the guests, they said they were happy to have lunch, so I made a reservation at a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown and we headed there. I joined them as well, and we spent about an hour over lunch. After leaving the Chinese restaurant, we strolled through Chinatown and then took the streetcar to the Atomic Bomb Museum. At the Atomic Bomb Museum, I explained about the photograph "The Boy Standing by the Crematory" displayed at the end of the exhibition, telling them to be sure to see it, and then they viewed the exhibits. After visiting the museum, we saw the exposed ground layers from the time of the bombing and passed through the hypocenter on our way to Peace Park. In Peace Park, I also explained about the Fountain of Peace and the monuments donated by various countries. As we were leaving Peace Park, the guests said they had gotten sunburned and wanted to buy some lotion at a drugstore, so I decided to guide them to a drugstore inside the Hamanomachi arcade, which is also close to the Matsugae International Cruise Terminal. After traveling by streetcar and finishing their shopping at the drugstore, we moved to Ourakaigandori streetcar stop, the closest to the terminal, and from there I guided them to a nearby cat-themed teahouse where they purchased souvenirs. After shopping, we walked to the Matsugae International Cruise Terminal, and the tour came to an end. This time it was a family group, and I believe the guests were able to enjoy the tour without becoming bored and were satisfied with it.

Hello, my name is Junichi Matsumoto.
I will be your guide on this occasion. With warm hospitality, I will do my best to help you fully enjoy and appreciate the charm of Japan.

Before becoming a guide, I worked for the Kumamoto Prefectural Government and retired in March 2023. From 2003 to 2005, I was stationed in Montana, USA, which has a sister-state relationship with Kumamoto. During that time, I actively interacted with the local community together with my family, which gave me valuable cross-cultural experiences.

I am an easygoing person who quickly builds a friendly relationship with international guests. With a sincere smile and attentive care, I always strive to provide tours that are warm, enjoyable, and memorable. What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, and Kinkaku-ji The guests were a group visiting from North America. Breakfast took some time, so the departure was delayed by about 20 minutes. At Fushimi Inari, one of the guests drew an omikuji fortune, while another purchased a torii-shaped ema plaque as a souvenir. At Kiyomizu-dera, some of the guests enjoyed shaved ice at a tea house within the temple grounds. Along the approach, the guests enjoyed shopping, stopping at a pottery shop, a shop with small accessories, and a store selling konnyaku soap. Since breakfast had been late, we skipped lunch and finished at Kinkaku-ji. The grounds were relatively uncrowded, so it did not take much time to take photos. There were pots of lotus, and the lotus flowers were beautiful. On the taxi ride back, I provided information such as recommendations for dinner spots.

I’m Ryoichi Kazuma and my nickname is “Kazz”. I live in Kyotanabe city next to Kyoto city. I want guests to enjoy Kyoto by seeing and experiencing not only from outside but also from inside. I offer various information from daily matters to traditional cultures. Most destinations in Kyoto are located on the eastern side or the western side. As I want to guide guests to as many destinations as possible, I make an efficient itinerary and recommend a taxi use to save time. Additionally, I take pictures at various spots and finally share the link to my storage. By doing so, guests can download their favorite pictures from my storage. Please enjoy Kyoto night and day!

What Can You See on a 4-Hour Private Kyoto Tour from Osaka Port? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from Oceania. They were cruise ship passengers who came to visit Kyoto from Osaka Port. Initially there was a request for a pickup at Osaka Port, but since it was a 4-hour Kyoto tour, the guests came to Kyoto Station on their own, where we met and started the tour. I took them to Fushimi Inari, Sanjusangendo, and Nijo Castle. Because it was a short 4-hour tour and the guests moved very slowly, there was concern about running over time, so I explained the situation to the group's leader and, with their cooperation to move a little faster, we managed to finish the tour on schedule. Sanjusangendo in particular was packed with school excursion students. There were about three times the usual number of buses parked there. Since it was a tour for a large group, I gave as much explanation as possible before we entered each site.

What's a Private Day Tour of Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle, Shitennoji, and Dotonbori The guests were a group visiting from North America. Because of concerns about walking, there was some worry about visiting Osaka Castle, but the flat areas posed almost no problem, and by using the elevators for the stairs as much as possible, the group managed to reach the main keep, which they were very pleased about. Afterward, we moved to Shitennoji Temple, where many street stalls were set up because the 22nd is the monthly memorial day of Prince Shotoku, and the group enjoyed shopping and purchased a kimono. Since there was some time before lunch, we stopped by Namba Yasaka Shrine and took commemorative photos at its unique lion-head stage. After that, the group enjoyed takoyaki and okonomiyaki for lunch in Dotonbori, and seemed to thoroughly enjoy the tour.
