The itinerary and map that had been exchanged with the guests' travel agency had not actually reached the guests. The day before, they had reportedly visited the Higashiyama area, including Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Yasaka Shrine. Today, rather than focusing on the history and culture of Kyoto, the highlights were the green moss of Gio-ji Temple, the bamboo grove, the monkeys at the monkey park, and the gold of Kinkaku-ji. The guests were especially fond of the monkeys and spent a long time enjoying the monkey park. A notable stop on the tour was Kinkaku-ji Temple in Kyoto. Kinkaku-ji, also known as the Golden Pavilion, is a Zen Buddhist temple whose top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf. Originally built in the late 14th century as a retirement villa for a shogun, it was later converted into a temple. The pavilion is set beside a reflecting pond and surrounded by a traditional Japanese garden, making it one of Kyoto's most iconic and frequently visited landmarks.

Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Hamarikyu Gardens, Tsukiji, and Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. Acquaintances of this group also joined as a separate group, handled by another guide, and both groups started from the same hotel at the same time. While each group proceeded separately at the individual sites, they coordinated their timing during transfers and lunch. First, in front of the gate of Hamarikyu Gardens, I gave a brief explanation of Japanese history and the history and features of Hamarikyu before we entered. The cosmos flowers were in full bloom, which delighted everyone, and they took many photographs. Afterward, I guided them to the tidal pond and the duck hunting grounds, where they listened to my explanations with great interest. We walked to the Tsukiji Outer Market, where, while strolling through the area, they purchased sweets and sashimi and seemed to enjoy exploring the market. For lunch, at the food court in the Odawarabashi building of the Tsukiji Fish Market, each person chose a meal to their liking and appeared very satisfied. We took the subway to Kudanshita and proceeded to the main hall of Yasukuni Shrine, where I explained the shrine and especially the origins of Yasukuni Shrine, and we paid our respects. Since guiding is not permitted inside the Yushukan museum, the guests entered on their own. As there were English explanations throughout, the guests seemed able to understand the exhibits. After providing a rest break at a café where everyone relaxed, we strolled through the Japanese garden within the grounds. Although small in scale, it is a strolling pond garden, and they were delighted by the scenic landscape with a waterfall and the large colored carp. Finally, I escorted the guests, who were unfamiliar with Tokyo's subway, to their next destination, and the tour came to an end. At first, I was a little concerned, but the guests walked very well. There was a brief light rain that soon stopped, and with temperatures not too high, the tour proceeded smoothly.

Title: What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya We met at the planned place and time, but the SUICA card bought at Haneda Airport the previous day could not be found, and it was still missing after a return to the room, so a PASMO was eventually purchased at Tawaramachi Station. This delayed our start. The group had apparently taken an early morning stroll through Asakusa before anyone was around, so this time we walked through Asakusa together with my explanations. Since they had just arrived the previous day and were about to begin a long trip, they did not buy any souvenirs and simply looked around. At Tsukiji, they observed the fish, vegetables, and sweets with great interest. They did not know the original form of wasabi, so when I explained it, they were impressed. For lunch, based on our earlier email exchange in which they mentioned wanting a quiet place with a good view, I avoided the inside of the Tsukiji Outer Market and we ate at a restaurant in the grounds of Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple, which was well received. At Meiji Shrine, they were especially impressed by the torii gate and the camphor trees. At Shibuya, the last stop, they took photos of the Scramble Crossing from a window near the Inokashira Line entrance, then actually crossed the intersection and took many photos. Due to time, we did not go all the way to the top of Miyashita Park, which they had shown interest in during our earlier email exchange, but I explained it from below, and they seemed satisfied. Finally, they wanted to print tickets for the next day's baseball game at Tokyo Dome at a convenience store, so I helped them at a convenience store inside Shibuya Station, and they were relieved to have the tickets in hand. We ran slightly over time, but we parted ways in front of that convenience store.

What's a Private Kyoto Tour of Arashiyama and Gion Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. The previous day they had explored the Higashiyama area, and today we headed to the Arashiyama area. Since one of the guests had difficulty walking long distances, we took a taxi to Arashiyama. We took a leisurely stroll through the bamboo grove near the Okochi Sanso villa and also walked through the Tenryu-ji Temple garden. After that, we took a taxi toward Kinkaku-ji, but as walking was too difficult, we decided against it, and since the guests wished to see Gion, we headed there instead. We strolled a little around Tatsumi Bridge and Hanamikoji Street, then took a break at a nearby cafe before returning to the accommodation and parting ways. I believe the guests enjoyed themselves. A notable stop on the tour was Tenryu-ji Temple in Arashiyama. Tenryu-ji is one of Kyoto's most important Zen temples and is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded in the 14th century, it is renowned for its Sogen Pond garden, designed by the famous Zen master Muso Soseki, which beautifully incorporates the surrounding mountains as borrowed scenery. The garden is considered one of the finest examples of a traditional Japanese landscape garden and offers striking views throughout the seasons.

What Does a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Look Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Shibuya, Tsukiji, and Asakusa The guests were a group visiting from North America. Before the tour, they had no particular requests and simply replied to confirm and accept the proposed itinerary. I had also informed them in advance to arrive at the hotel ten minutes before the meeting time, along with easily recognizable details to help them identify their guide. At the meeting, I reconfirmed the itinerary with the guests and we started the tour on time (the guests had already purchased a SUICA card in advance). Before arriving at Meiji Shrine, I guided them around East Shinjuku, including Golden Gai, the Godzilla Head, and the 3D cat on the screen in front of JR Shinjuku Station. Meiji Shrine already had many visitors from group tours, but a visit around 9:00 is generally easier to guide than usual. In Shibuya, we crossed the famous scramble crossing, strolled briefly through Center Street, and then took a break at a coffee shop. Under cloudy skies, the Tsukiji market was as crowded as usual, and the guests enjoyed taking out street food, shopping at a Japanese tea shop, and dining in at a long-established ramen restaurant. With time to spare, we also explored Akihabara and Kappabashi before arriving in Asakusa. In front of the main hall of Senso-ji Temple, I shared the photos I had taken, the day's itinerary, and the route back to their accommodation, and we parted ways with smiles. A notable stop on the tour was Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. Senso-ji is Tokyo's oldest temple, founded in the 7th century and dedicated to the bodhisattva Kannon. Visitors enter through the iconic Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) with its massive red lantern, then pass along Nakamise-dori, a lively shopping street lined with stalls selling traditional snacks and souvenirs, before reaching the main hall and its five-story pagoda.

What Is a Private Harajuku Tour Like for Kawaii Culture Fans? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided guests visiting from North America on a private tour of Harajuku. Since the requests included a Sanrio shop, gashapon machines, an animal cafe, and a ring-making experience, I chose Takeshita Street, selected and reserved the shops myself, and built the day around making the experience as enjoyable as possible. At the purikura photo booth, we struggled with the operation but finally managed to create the photos. At the Samoyed cafe the dogs were fluffy, very gentle, and charming, and the guests were delighted to take a photo while holding one. At KAWAII the show was great fun, and the brightly dressed dancers were very kind; when I told them it was a birthday that day, they sang Happy Birthday, which moved the guests greatly. At Sanrio, the main destination, several character items were purchased, and we also stopped by the cafe I had reserved in advance. At the cafe, guests can take photos with plush toys and panels. At GALAXY we took photos with digital art flowers, and then rested a little on the rooftop of Harakado. At that time, one of the guests was a little tired and dozing off, so as I chatted with the group about various things, I learned that they had come to Tokyo as the heartfelt wish of someone who had overcome and recovered from three years of illness treatment. I was shown some photos taken during the hospital stay, and the sight of such perseverance nearly brought me to tears. Finally we visited NANE TOKYO for the ring-making experience. The staff were extremely attentive, and the guest who had been sleeping woke up and concentrated fully on the work. We went well over the originally planned time, but the guests were extremely satisfied. At the end, when a bangle was spotted, one of the guests became even more excited, saying, "Can I make this too? I'd love to. We're still in Tokyo, so maybe we'll come again." Having gone through such a hard experience, the group was powerful and cheerful, doing their utmost to enjoy this time together, and I was able to see them smiling with joy at their wish coming true. When I heard the guests say, "Today was the best day," I was truly happy myself. In terms of content it was a slightly high hurdle for me to guide, but I was glad to be able to help a little with the support of a wish-granting organization.

A Licensed Guide's Report on Hokoku-ji, Inamuragasaki, and the Great Buddha When we reached the Enoden ticket gate, we learned that the line was suspended due to an accident just before our arrival, so we changed the itinerary on the spot and visited Hokoku-ji instead. This turned out to have a completely different atmosphere from the previous day's sightseeing, and it was very well received. The guests took many photos from the very start. Unlike the poor weather of the preceding days, we were blessed with a beautiful clear autumn sky, and by changing the route again, I was able to offer a view of Mount Fuji from Inamuragasaki. This too was almost like a happy accident, an unexpected treat that the guests were delighted with. Most of the visitors in the area were from overseas, and Japanese eateries can feel difficult to enter, so we went to an eel restaurant near Hase-dera, which was not crowded. Here as well, the guests could enjoy their meal slowly and calmly. As the final highlight, we visited the Great Buddha. It was a short tour of four hours, but it was fulfilling and enjoyable. A notable stop on the tour was the Great Buddha of Kamakura. Located at Kotoku-in Temple, this monumental bronze statue of Amida Buddha stands over 11 meters tall and dates back to the 13th century. Originally housed inside a temple hall, the statue has stood in the open air for centuries after the surrounding building was destroyed by storms and tsunamis, making it one of Japan's most iconic and enduring cultural landmarks.

Title: What's a Private Kyoto Taxi Tour Like for Guests with Limited Mobility? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group of three visiting from Oceania. When we met, one of the guests let me know that they were experiencing back pain and had difficulty walking. I asked whether they would prefer to use a taxi, and they said that would be best. To avoid crowds as much as possible, we first took a taxi to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Because we arrived early, Gojozaka was quiet and we were able to go up smoothly to around the bus parking area. At Kiyomizu-dera, one of the guests went as far as the Seiryu Plaza but did not wish to go onto the main stage, so I guided the other two onto the stage. They hurried down the stairs from the stage toward Otowa Waterfall out of consideration for the guest who was waiting, and then rejoined. After that, we visited Sanjusangendo, which has a flat sightseeing route, and all three enjoyed seeing the one thousand statues of Kannon and the garden. At Fushimi Inari Taisha, we used the wheelchair ramp and the elevator so they could see the Senbon Torii. They each enjoyed themselves in their own way. I asked whether they would like to have lunch near Fushimi Inari Taisha, but they wished to return to the Hotel, so I accompanied them back to the Hotel. A notable stop on the tour was Fushimi Inari Taisha. Fushimi Inari Taisha is one of Kyoto's most famous Shinto shrines, dedicated to Inari, the deity of rice and prosperity. It is best known for its Senbon Torii, thousands of vermilion torii gates that form winding pathways up the sacred Mount Inari. Visitors from around the world come to walk through the tunnels of gates and to see the many fox statues, which are considered messengers of the deity.

Private Tokyo Day Tour Report from a Licensed Guide: What's a Full-Day Itinerary with Imperial Palace, Koishikawa Korakuen, and Asakusa Like? The guests were visiting from North America on their first trip to Japan and were scheduled to board a cruise two days later. They came down to the lobby about 15 minutes before departure, so I confirmed the itinerary and gave a briefing on Japanese history before we set off. One of the guests, who enjoyed photography, began taking many pictures right away from the Imperial Palace Outer Garden. At the ticket counter of Koishikawa Korakuen, they were asked to present documentation proving their age, and when I explained that it was because the staff could hardly believe they were over 65, they took it to heart and were delighted. Korakuen had few visitors, allowing them to enjoy a sense of tranquility within the city. At Nezu Shrine, there were many visitors for first-shrine visits and early Shichi-Go-San celebrations, so I explained Shinto customs and the tradition of the first shrine visit. As the guests were elderly, we skipped Snake Road and moved by car to Yanaka Ginza. Since they keep a Shiba Inu, they spotted an apron printed with a Shiba Inu and bought it immediately. In Asakusa, when I explained the Tokyo air raids, one of the guests, who had spent childhood years in Europe, reflected on the bombing of Dresden. We were fortunate to get into a well-known restaurant without a wait, and they finished a tendon bowl with a fork. Overall, I believe it was a tour the guests were satisfied with. A notable stop on the tour was Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. Senso-ji is Tokyo's oldest temple, founded in the 7th century, and is one of the most visited religious sites in Japan. Visitors pass through the iconic Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) with its massive red lantern and walk along Nakamise, a lively shopping street leading to the main hall. The temple is dedicated to Kannon, the Buddhist goddess of mercy, and its historic atmosphere makes it a memorable highlight of any visit to the Asakusa district.

What Is a Private Tokyo Orientation Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe, arriving in Japan for the first time late the previous night. They planned to stay in Tokyo for about a week, then travel to places such as Kyoto and Kanazawa before returning to Tokyo and departing two days later. Originally, they had planned to come earlier in the year with others in their group, but the trip was cancelled due to conditions in the Middle East affecting their route via Istanbul. In Shinjuku, I explained Kabukicho and took them to Omoide Yokocho, suggesting they might have dinner at one of the two. In the end, they decided to visit both. A notable stop on the tour was Omoide Yokocho in Shinjuku. Omoide Yokocho is a narrow network of alleyways near Shinjuku Station lined with small eateries and yakitori stalls, many dating back to the postwar era. It offers a nostalgic, retro atmosphere and is a popular spot for enjoying grilled skewers and local drinks in a lively, intimate setting. The area is especially atmospheric in the evening, when lanterns light up the tightly packed lanes and the smell of grilling fills the air.

Travelling along the JR central line where guests can stopover at major animation studios (it is not accepted to visit the inside). The majority of animation studios such as TMS Entertainment, SUNRISE, A1 Pictures etc. are located in this area. Suginami Animation museum, Studio Ghibli and Ghibli Museum are also located.
Guests can feel old houses in the Spirited Away scene in the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum.

I can also provide a pilgrimage to the sacred place (shooting location) for the Shinkai Makoto animation movies such as Your name, Weathering with you, and Suzume.

Another interesting feature is to visit authentic Japanese style pub meals such as Yakitori, Karaage, and Sushi etc.
Asakusa Hoppy Street, Ameyoko Street, Yurakucho, Shimbashi, Shinjuku Golden gai, Shinjuku Omoide Yokocho are nice to visit.

A Sake tasting at Sake Cellar can be an option.

In addition to the above, I am available in the neighboring cities.

Kawagoe is an old town developed in the 17th century. It has very close relationship with the Edo central government. Kawagoe castle ruins, Kitain temple and 500 Buddha statues will welcome the guests.
These areas are renovated and provide an old days atmosphere.
Japanese style sweets food stands will fascinate the guests.
Kawagoe is about 1 – 1.5 train trip from Tokyo.

Kamakura is the first Samurai worriers government established in the late 12th century.
The Buddhism are introduced to Japan in the 6th century, and flourished at Nara and Kyoto later. A newer Buddhism sect such as Zen has well developed at Kamakura area.
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Gigantic Buddha statue at Kotokuin Temple and the flower temple Hasedera Temple are must-see.
Kamakura is about 1 – 1.5 train trip from Tokyo.
