    What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided a group visiting from Europe. First, they mentioned that the Suica app was difficult to understand because it was in Japanese, so I told them they could obtain it through Apple Wallet, which worked well. One of the guests bought a PASMO card at the station. The cherry blossoms at Shinjuku Gyoen were in full bloom and the weather was wonderful, so the guests were delighted. We were able to enter through the Sendagaya Gate without much of a wait. The guests responded very warmly, expressing admiration at each point of the tour. In Asakusa, they bought bean snacks, socks, and mascots, and received a charm and a fortune slip (omikuji) at Sensoji Temple. They were very pleased with the udon restaurant we visited for lunch. Shibuya and Harajuku were included at the request of one of the guests, and they went shopping at Don Quijote. Since Takeshita Street was extremely crowded, we took a side route partway through. I guided them to all the places they had requested, and they were very happy with the tour.

    What Is a Private Hakone Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Ropeway, Pirate Ship, and Hakone Shrine On the day of the tour, the guests were checking out, so they came down to the hotel front desk about ten minutes before the meeting time, allowing us to meet smoothly. In addition, thanks to the kindness of the hotel, we were given a ride to Sounzan Station, making for a very good start. The ropeway from Sounzan was relatively uncrowded, and we moved smoothly to Owakudani. The weather was cloudy and Mount Fuji was not visible, but there was no heavy rain, and there were no major problems with visibility or operation. The guests were able to enjoy the scenery from the ropeway. We boarded the pirate ship from Togendai as scheduled, and after arriving at Motohakone Port, we visited Hakone Shrine. On the return trip, being able to use the special cabin (first class) allowed us to avoid the long line for the general seating area, making for a very smooth journey. I strongly felt that, unless the guests specifically say they do not need the premium seating, actively making use of first class during tours is very effective. The day fell within a period when crowding is a concern in the Hakone area, and the weather conditions were also unstable, so I recognized this as a high-difficulty tour. However, thanks to two prior site visits and careful preparation in advance, the tour overall ran very smoothly. The return ropeway (departing from Togendai) had a long line as expected, so at the guests' request, an Uber taxi was arranged. After picking up their luggage at the hotel, they proceeded directly to Odawara Station, and the tour ended earlier than scheduled. The guests were very friendly and cooperative, contributing greatly to the smooth progress of the tour throughout. Also, although I initially purchased the ropeway and pirate ship tickets together with the guests, I was informed that a ticket for the guide was not required when using the special cabin, and I later received a refund, so in the end no transportation cost was incurred during the tour.

    My name is Yuka Yoshida. I am a Hiroshima Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. I was born and raised in Tokyo. I lived in the U.K. and the U.S. for 10 years, when I had chances to travel different cities in those countries, as well as India, Ghana, Canada. I used to work in an elementary school for 13 years as an English teacher. It was a wonderland where classroom atmosphere changed every year so much. As a guide, I frequently visit monuments in the Peace Memorial Park, including the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Museum, and the magnificent Itsukushima shrine on Miyajima Island.

    Let me tell you briefly about Hiroshima. Hiroshima prefecture is located in western Japan, facing the Seto Inland Sea to the south. There is a famous Japanese garden, Shukkeien Garden in the middle of the city. It was built as a garden for the villa of Nagaakira Asano, the lord of Hiroshima Castle during the early Edo period (1603-1868). You will be surprised to see how peaceful and relaxing the garden is when you browse there. It’s not a huge garden, but it presents a wonderful landscape of a traditional Japanese garden and different beautiful colors every season.

    Hiroshima prefecture is unique, having two World Heritage Sites.

    One of them is the Atomic Bomb Dome. As you can see, Hiroshima is a city of many attractions today, but it is also the place where the world’s first atomic bomb was used on August 6, 1945, near the end of the World War II. The atomic bombing destroyed Hiroshima City completely, killing approximately 140,000 people that was about 40 percent of Hiroshima’s population at that time by the end of 1945. You will be amazed at how the city of Hiroshima has been rebuilt since then. Our tour will visit the monuments in the Peace Memorial Park and provide you with rich information that you cannot find in any guidebook.

    By joining this visit, I am sure that you will better understand why the people of Hiroshima hope for the peaceful world so fervently.
    The other World Heritage Site is Itsukushima Shrine. The entire island of Miyajima is one of the three most beautiful scenic spots in Japan. It is a very popular tourist attraction in the Seto Inland Sea area which is also designated as a national park for its beauty. Itsukushima Shrine has a long history going back to the 6th century. It is very unique and outstanding architecture which attracted people from the ancient time. The shrine and the Big Gate, O-torii, are must-sees.

    Regarding food, Hiroshima offers delicious oysters. On Miyajima Island, you can enjoy shopping on the Omotesando street (a main street) which gives you opportunities to eat out, not only grilled oysters but also some local sweets, such as Momiji-manju (that is like a sponge cake sweets with a shape of maple leaf), lemon beverages and so on. Another delicacy is Okonomiyaki, savory pancakes with a lot of vegetables with your choice of numerous toppings which you should definitely try.

    What Can You See on a Private Nagoya Day Tour with a Licensed Guide? A Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Asia. Since one of the guests could not walk very much, a private vehicle was arranged, which allowed smooth transfers between sites. The highlight of the day was the cherry blossoms in full bloom at Nagoya Castle, and the guests were delighted to take many photos against the backdrop of the blossoms. They also viewed the vast collection of swords and armor at the Nagoya Touken World (Sakae Main Building) with great interest. The guests enjoyed shopping at the sword museum shop and at Osu Shopping Street, where they made many purchases. Partway through the tour, due to one of the guests experiencing discomfort, the tour was ended earlier than planned in accordance with the guests' wishes, but the guests enjoyed the tour as a whole.

The weather was very nice and the flowers were at their peak, which made for a wonderful day. Some of the guests collected goshuin (temple and shrine seal stamps), while others enjoyed shopping. The weeping cherry blossoms at Maruyama Park were already just past their peak, but they were still in a state that could be appreciated. The temperature rose today, and the guests dressed lightly toward the end of the day. At the vending machines near Yasaka Shrine, the water had sold out.

    Bye bye smart phone!! Let’s enjoy Japan without bothering to check up your phone all the time with not AI but a local guide like me. Hi, my name is Mimmy. You may think this sounds like a kitten’s name.
    I use this nickname because it sounds cute and easy to remember. However,
    I actually look rounded, a middle aged woman more like a yellow character of M&Mchocolate, which reminds you of my name easily when you see me.
    I was born in Osaka, went to school in Kobe, went to work in Kyoto and married but still live in Osaka. I am a local, native Osakan. My 3 children are all grown up and live separately except one son. Now I live with one son and a husband in suburbs of the Osaka city.
    I like travelling, walking around the town and anything new.
    I got my guide license in 2017 and started guiding after that. I wasn’t able to work during Covid period but start guiding in 2022 again. I guide Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe and have experienced more than100 tours including bus tours.
    I would like to tell you about the itineraries I usually have in each area.
    In Osaka, we usually go to Osaka castle, Shinsekai and Dotonbori Namba area.
    I think most important part you should see is Dotonbori Namba in Osaka.
    This place is vibrant , energetic, full of 3D signs and different from any other place in Japan.
    In Kyoto, we cannot see all famous sightseeing spots in one day.
    It will be better to visit each area respectively. I recommend guests who come to Kyoto first time to visit East area, Kiyomizu Temple>Sannenzaka>Ninenzaka>Ishibeikouji>Yasaka shrine> Gion area. This area has an atmosphere of traditional old Kyoto. The most Kyoto like places which suit Kimono. You can rent Kimono in a lot of places around here.
    The second place I recommend you is West area: Golden temple and Arashiyama area where Bamboo forest , Tenryuji temple, mountains and a river. There are several nice gardens in this area. If you want to enjoy the nature quietly, you
    should come here when it is not crowded (Winter is the most quiet)
    In Nara which used to be a capital even older than Kyoto, we visit Todaiji Temple where a huge Buddha is sitting inside of one of the largest wooden hall and you can play with deer everywhere in Nara. Naramachi: a small town in this area is a local place where small interesting shops are.
    In Kobe, a port city, you can visit Japanese Sake breweries, Herb garden and the top of Mt.Rokko for viewing Kobe city. A small China town is there, too.

    Now I bet you want to leave home to explore somewhere else you do not know.
    Not only going to somewhere else, we can help you to do several experiences: making tea, making Japanese sweet, making Takoyaki(food), wearing Kimono, making food samples, attending a tea ceremony, throwing Shriken like Ninja, Using bow and arrow like Samurai, , , ,

    Title: What Can You See on a Private Cherry Blossom Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. Before their trip to Japan, I presented three itinerary options designed for first-time visitors, and the guests chose the one described here. Tsukiji Fish Market was not crowded, and they seemed to genuinely prefer it—not merely as a polite remark—over the fish market back home. At the market they bought chu-toro (medium fatty tuna) and salmon and enjoyed them on the third floor. The outer market area and Asakusa left them simply overwhelmed by the crowds. Ueno Park offered perfect weather for cherry blossom viewing. Since Sakura-dori is wide, it did not feel as crowded as Asakusa, and they enjoyed it. They also experienced Japanese culture by watching groups starting picnics under the cherry trees and feeling sympathy for the lone person left to save a spot. At Koishikawa Korakuen, although the cherry trees were few in number, they stood out beautifully against the garden and were very moving. It was quiet and uncrowded, and the guests remarked how nice it was to end the tour in such a peaceful place.

As it was the first day of their first trip to Japan, the tour began with practical topics such as how to use a Suica card and how to ride escalators. Meiji Shrine was crowded with tour groups. The guests listened closely to explanations about Shinto and asked many questions. At Azabudai Hills, they enjoyed the view of Tokyo Tower and the high-rise buildings from the observation deck, gaining a good overview of Tokyo. At Zojoji Temple, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and they took many photographs. Asakusa was very crowded, and it was difficult even to walk along Nakamise Street, with a long line forming in front of the offering box at the main hall as well. Since the guests appeared tired, we stopped at a nearby cafe for a light lunch. They found the onigiri delicious and enjoyed eating them. As they were returning to their hotel in Shinagawa, we parted ways at the Asakusa Line ticket gate.

    Title: What Can You See on a Private Cherry Blossom Tour of Kyoto? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Kyoto was in full cherry blossom everywhere they went, making it a wonderful trip that the whole group was delighted with. The itinerary was as follows. First, we visited the Arashiyama Monkey Park. They worked hard to climb the mountain path, and it seemed to be a truly enjoyable activity for the entire group. Next, we went to Tenryu-ji Temple. They were moved by the beautiful views of Tenryu-ji Temple, the Sagano Bamboo Grove, and the scenery along the Katsura River. The mountain cherry blossoms were all in full bloom as well, and they were especially impressed by the view from the observation deck at Arashiyama Park. Finally, we visited Kinkaku-ji Temple. They were interested to hear that the admission ticket is designed like a paper talisman, and that placing it at the entrance of one's home is said to ward off misfortune. They were also deeply moved by the beauty of the Golden Pavilion seen across the pond.

    I play tennis and table tennis twice a week. I love traveling because I can see beautiful scenery and learn about Japanese history.
    I chose Kyoto and Nara prefectures as my guiding locations. Both were once the capitals of Japan.
    Kyoto was the residence of emperors from 794 to 1868 and was a stage for Japanese history.
    It has beautiful scenery, Japanese history, magnificent buildings and gardens, and delicious food.
    I would like to share the charms of Japan with foreign tourists as much as possible.
    I live in Amagasaki City, which is adjacent to Osaka. Kyoto is a little far from my home,
    but I would like to leave home early in the morning and enjoy traveling with my guests.

A Licensed Guide's Report **Body:** [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private tour of Tokyo focused on cherry blossoms for guests visiting from Oceania. The guests had long dreamed of visiting Japan during the cherry blossom season, and had realized that wish. Two days earlier, they had visited Mount Fuji and were delighted to have seen it in perfect condition. Although we started early at 8:00, in line with the guests' wishes, I designed the tour with a main focus on viewing cherry blossoms. First, we headed from Yurakucho Station near the hotel to Tokyo Station, where I explained how to use the Shinkansen, and then continued to the Imperial Palace and Nijubashi Bridge. Because it was early in the morning, there were few people around, and the guests were surprised by the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Next, we visited Shinjuku Gyoen, where the sight of cherry blossoms in full bloom moved the guests greatly, who exclaimed, "This is exactly the view I wanted to see." They spent nearly two hours walking around the garden and taking countless photos. At Meiji Shrine, I explained Shinto and its influence on Japanese culture, as well as how to worship. After actually trying the worship themselves, the guests appeared deeply moved. Finally, at Shibuya Crossing, the guests were overwhelmed by the crowds and vibrant scenery, an experience they could not have back home.

At Meiji Shrine they were also able to see a wedding ceremony, and at Tsukiji and Asakusa they enjoyed snacks and meals. However, one of the guests had only arrived in Japan the day before and seemed tired in the latter half of the day, leaving a little of the lunch. The guests also enjoyed some beer at Tsukiji and Asakusa.
