Title: What Can You See on a First-Day Private Tokyo Tour with a Licensed Guide? This was the first day of a two-week private Japan tour for guests visiting from North America, arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/). Because the meeting time was 8:30 in the morning, I chose Fukagawa Fudodo as a place we could visit right away. We arrived a little before the goma fire ritual began, and the guests were startled by the thunderous sound of the taiko drums as we experienced the full ceremony from the start. Next we visited Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine, and when I explained that it is the birthplace of modern grand sumo, the guests mentioned that they would be watching sumo at the Nagoya tournament on a later day. After the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, we headed to visit Meiji Jingu and got off at Yoyogi Station on the Toei Oedo subway line. Just as we were about to exit the ticket gate, one of the guests realized that an iPhone had been left on the train. When we asked a station attendant to look for it, it turned out to be at Tochomae Station. The guests were delighted that the iPhone was safely returned, and we parted ways on that happy note.

Tokyo Customized Private Tour by Car

    Tour Itinerary

    • 08:45 Meet at the lobby on the 38th floor of the Hotel. Since the guests had chosen the places they wanted to visit, we decided to follow that plan. Since the mother, Ms. Shew, had injured the sole of her left foot before the tour, we loaded a wheelchair that had been reserved in advance at the hotel into the taxi and departed. At each place visited, driver Ogawa kindly assisted by unloading and loading the wheelchair.
    • 09:20 Arrived at Sensoji Temple. Entered through the Nitenmon Gate and guided them to Asakusa Shrine, the main hall of Sensoji Temple, Nakamise-dori, and Kaminarimon Gate. Along the way, they purchased a parasol for the mother at Nakamise.
    • 10:30 Arrived at Nezu Shrine, then crossed the main street to guide them through the old streets of Yanaka. Walked and strolled for 35 minutes until 11:05.
    • 11:25 Visited the Nijubashi Bridge of the Imperial Palace, and explained the Imperial Palace and the imperial system.
    • 12:40 Arrived at the Tsukiji Outer Market, and after guiding them around the market for about 15 minutes, had lunch at Sushizanmai Main Store. Since they had walked in the heat, we took just under an hour for lunch.
    • 14:00 Arrived at Meiji Shrine. Driver Ogawa offered to the entrance guard, "Since the guest uses a wheelchair, I would like to drive up to the Kagura Hall," and the guard kindly accommodated this, so we were able to enter directly from the Kagura Hall to the main hall, which was very helpful. After finishing the guided tour of Meiji Shrine, we headed to the Hotel.
    • 15:10 Escorted them to the Hotel front desk (38th floor) and concluded.

Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Car Tour With a Wheelchair User Like? A Licensed Guide's Report On this vehicle-included tour, there were no out-of-pocket expenses for the guide. The assigned driver was extremely attentive and considerate, and the guests were very pleased. One of the guests used a wheelchair at every location visited, so I paid close attention to safety throughout. Moving around Tokyo by wheelchair made me realize just how many roads have significant steps and level differences. At places with considerable steps, another member of the group was fortunately present, so the guide and one other person assisted with the wheelchair as we proceeded, and the guests were very satisfied. As it was an extremely hot day with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees, I used a fan to send a breeze toward the guest in the wheelchair as much as possible, which seemed to be appreciated. The guests arrived at Haneda Airport at 4:20 a.m. after a 14-hour flight from North America, then took a taxi to their accommodation and rested in the lobby before starting the tour. I was concerned about the extreme heat as well as jet lag, but both guests were very energetic, and the tour concluded without any issues. I also heard that on this visit to Japan, the group planned to board a cruise ship from Yokohama, stopping at Kobe, Hiroshima, Busan, Hakodate, and Aomori, enjoying a 12-day cruise. Regarding the attached photo taken at Nijubashi Bridge, permission was granted for its use only on the strict condition that no names be disclosed. This concludes my report.

I acquired national guide license in 2014, and I have been doing guide work full fledged since 2016. In my career before starting guide work, I was a business man and made more than 1,000 business trips both abroad and in Japan, and that experience is my foundation as a guide because I came to know so many places both abroad and in Japan. I have been taking care of both group and individual tourists, and the number of foreign guests I have taken care is close to 2,500 so far. I am based in Tokyo, but I can cover guide work in many prefectures throughout Japan. When I take care of foreign guests, my major concern is to listen attentively to them, find out what they want to know and do in Japan, and give them appropriate guiding in accordance with what I heard from my guests. I would like to provide tailor made tour as much as possible for every precious guest who kindly chose Japan as the tour destination.

What Is a Private Day Trip from Kyoto to Nara Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were interested in Japanese otaku culture as well as temples and shrines. On the train between Kyoto and Nara, I asked them about what they had seen and enjoyed in Tokyo, what they were expecting in Nara, and what kinds of food they wanted to try. When I mentioned kakinoha-zushi (persimmon leaf sushi), they said they would love to try it, so I took them to my top recommendation, Hiraso. Unfortunately, the chef who prepares the rolled dishes was not available, so we could not order the menu item they wanted, but the head chef specially arranged an assortment of kakinoha-zushi beautifully on a large platter for us. It looked lovely, and the guests said it was delicious and finished it in no time. When I asked for their impressions at the end of the tour, they happily told me that the kakinoha-zushi and the bustling traditional townhouse in Naramachi were especially wonderful. They also thanked me for a meaningful day.

Hi! My name is YUKA. I’ve got the government license in 2018 and joined a half year traning to do the guide. But a half year later I started my carreer, Covid came. I should have given up guiding. During the Covid, I’ve read many books and made my own materials to explain Japanese culture, history, etc. I love guiding because the guests expand my horizon all the time and let me know their own country and culture, etc. It is really important for us all to know each other and respect each other to make this world peace. Thank you for coming to Japan! Let’s enjoy Japan together!

Hyogo in Half a Day: Kokoen Garden

    Tour Itinerary

    • 10:00 (changed) Meet at Himeji Station
    • 11:40 Walk through the shopping street to Himeji Castle, taking a break at Egret Himeji on the way
    • 13:00 Kokoen Garden
    • 14:30 Himeji Station, disband

Because the heat and humidity can be very draining, the group took a break at the air-conditioned Egret Himeji, enjoying some ice cream and resting for a while. The guests were very interested in Japanese history. Since some of the guests preferred to wait at the base of the castle keep, I guided them to a cool spot. It was a shaded area with a nice breeze and a place to sit leaning against a wall, so the rest of the group could climb up to the top of the keep with peace of mind. Even in the hot and humid weather, I believe they were able to enjoy the experience as much as possible.

What Is a Private Full-Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report from Meiji Shrine to Asakusa The guests were a group from North America visiting Japan for the first time. They planned to see Mount Fuji and Kyoto after sightseeing in Tokyo. They seemed impressed by the solemn tranquility of Meiji Shrine, which contrasted with the lively atmosphere of Shibuya. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to explanations about the Meiji Restoration and the Emperor. As they enjoy Japanese cuisine, they had sushi for lunch. In Asakusa, they showed interest in the bustling atmosphere of Kaminarimon and Nakamise Street. Since they had another appointment in the afternoon and could not spend enough time there today, they said they would like to visit Nakamise Street again another day to shop at a more leisurely pace. I responded according to the guests' wishes, so I believe they were satisfied.

Title: What's a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Covering Kiyomizu, Kinkakuji, and Arashiyama The guests were visitors from North America. During the tour, they purchased a frog figurine as a keepsake carrying wishes for safe travels. At the shops I took them to, they bought many souvenirs. Around Kiyomizu, they purchased a Kiyomizu-yaki sake cup in a paulownia wood box, along with a tea whisk and whisk stand. Around Kinkakuji, they bought a bracelet, a small accessory case, a handkerchief, and a bookmark. In Sagano, they picked up items such as a frog figurine and a beckoning cat. It was extremely hot, so we made sure to stay well hydrated, but the guests understandably became tired in the latter half of the day. After the tour concluded at Togetsukyo Bridge, they returned to their hotel by taxi.

I’m Ryoichi Kazuma and my nickname is “Kazz”. I live in Kyotanabe city next to Kyoto city. I want guests to enjoy Kyoto by seeing and experiencing not only from outside but also from inside. I offer various information from daily matters to traditional cultures. Most destinations in Kyoto are located on the eastern side or the western side. As I want to guide guests to as many destinations as possible, I make an efficient itinerary and recommend a taxi use to save time. Additionally, I take pictures at various spots and finally share the link to my storage. By doing so, guests can download their favorite pictures from my storage. Please enjoy Kyoto night and day!

What Is a Private Summer Walking Tour of Nara Park Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. They had originally hoped to start at 12:30, but since it was an extremely hot time of year, I persuaded them to begin at 10:00. It was an unusual case where the itinerary went from Toba in Mie Prefecture to Nara, and then on to Kyoto. Despite the burning heat, the group walked through Nara Park together. One of the guests had been born in Toba and now lived in North America. We talked about many things while walking together. Just after leaving the Great Buddha Hall, they said, "Let's call it a day here — we've reached our limit with the heat," so we took the bus back to Kintetsu Nara Station and parted ways on the bus. One of the guests said they would come back again soon to see the deer. They mentioned that in their home region the smoke from wildfires had made it impossible to go outside, so traveling abroad was the best option this season. It truly was a burning summer.

Hello! Thank you for choosing Nara! I bet you’ll love Nara. I specialize in Nara because Nara is the unique place where in one day you can cover the history and religions of Japan from the ancient times to the post war era while enjoying rambling in the UNESCO World Heritage park, having communication with lovely deer, surrounded with the beautiful nature.
I grew up in Nara, went university in Kyoto, enjoyed teaching at high schools and a university in Osaka. The three former capitals of Japan are home to me.
After retiring from teaching I began guiding so that I can meet various people from various corners of the world with a variety of cultures and backgrounds. Each time I guide, I find it hugely rewarding because I learn a lot from my guests sharing the history, culture and all that I know about Nara, Kyoto and Osaka.
I used to be a marathon runner, mountain climber and skier though I am not much of them anymore.
What I especially recommend is to stay in Nara a couple of days and enjoy communicating with friendly deer while visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Nara in early morning, temples and shrines at night are well worth experiencing.

    • 16:00 See off in front of Nijo Castle
    • (At the customer's request, we used taxis for transfers, which saved quite a lot of
    • time, and due to the extreme heat, the customer said it was OK to end the
    • tour early, so the tour finished ahead of schedule)

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like in Summer? A Licensed Guide's Report This was a Kyoto tour in intense heat reaching 37°C. The guests requested to travel by taxi, so we moved from Kinkaku-ji to Ryoan-ji, and from Ryoan-ji to Nijo Castle by taxi, which saved a considerable amount of time. At Nijo Castle, the Ninomaru Palace was closed for renovation and could not be entered, so I showed the guests reference materials I had brought and explained. On this point, the guests may have felt disappointed. One of the guests had traveled around Japan quite a bit and was very knowledgeable about Japan, and during the visit to Ryoan-ji, when I explained Zen Buddhism, there were also questions about Confucianism and Taoism. (I believe they enjoyed the rock garden at Ryoan-ji.) In the latter half of the tour, the heat seemed quite hard on one of the guests, and since the guests had also commented that ending the tour early would be fine, we wrapped up the tour a little earlier than planned.

A Private Kyoto Day Tour: A Licensed Guide's Report on Kiyomizu-dera, Arashiyama, and Nishiki Market The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. It was their first trip to Japan, but they seemed familiar with Japanese culture through anime and other media. One of the guests appeared to have an injured leg, and on the way to Kiyomizu-dera, they mentioned that their leg hurt around Gojozaka, so we took a break sitting on a bench for a while. Thanks to the early morning start, the approach to Kiyomizu-dera was uncrowded and easy to stroll through, though it was a little disappointing that a staff member was vacuuming on the Kiyomizu stage. At Otowa Waterfall there was no line, so I demonstrated and explained how to drink the water, but only one of the guests actually tried it. At Jojakko-ji, the guests climbed to the top of the grounds, where the whole of Kyoto city can be seen, and enjoyed the magnificent view. On the way from Jojakko-ji to Gio-ji, the guests bought drinks at a vending machine near the entrance of Nison-in and took a short break. On the way to Randen Arashiyama Station, while two of the guests were buying souvenirs at a shop, the rest of the group had to wait outside in the blazing sun. At one point, one of them crouched down, so I quickly took that person to a shaded place where they could sit, and we managed to avoid any trouble. After arriving at Nishiki Market, since it was just about time, we parted ways at the entrance.
