What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a calm and pleasant group. To make the most of their time on Miyajima, they changed the meeting point to Miyajimaguchi. Today there were many tour groups and it was very crowded, so we quickly visited the shrine and then took the ropeway up to Mount Misen. By the time we came back down, there was a longer line stretching out from the ticket office than I had ever seen before. Along the way, the guests shared stories about their family, and we had a very enjoyable time together. After the tour, they wanted to visit Shukkeien Garden on their own, so I assisted them with purchasing tickets to Hiroshima Station and then we parted ways. They also asked me to recommend a place where they could eat oysters, so I sent them directions to a Japanese restaurant within walking distance from Hiroshima Castle.

Hi, I’m Kahori, a nationally licensed tour guide, and delighted to show people around this area. For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors.
Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called “art islands” which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival “Setouchi Triennale”. In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. Personally, I am very passionate about modern art and enjoy sports like stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) on our rivers.
I look forward to meeting you, interacting with you, and also, learning from you!

Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Tour Like With a Licensed Guide? A Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. There was a request to exchange a Japan Rail Pass for a travel ticket, so we went to Tokyo Station, but since the passport had not been brought along (I had felt reassured because they had said before departure that they would have it), they decided to come back again the following day. They had apparently planned to go to Nikko the next day, but since nothing had been booked, they changed it to the day after, which was quite a flexible schedule, so I felt relieved.

Your tour guide Kappa is my nickname. Kappa is a traditional, imaginary creature who came into being in Japan over 300 years ago. She is good at swimming, like me, for I like swimming. I would like to make our tour operated smoothly as Kappa does when she swims in the river or pond. It is my pleasure to introduce many aspects in our tour, especially cooking, for it is my hobby and I went to the professional cooking and SAKE school, respectively. If you have any questions or requests about Japanese cooking, of course our tour, I am very delighted to answer to you anytime!

What Can You See on a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led them to the Kyoto Imperial Palace, Arashiyama (the Togetsukyo Bridge, the Sogenchi Garden at Tenryu-ji Temple, and the bamboo grove), and Kinkaku-ji Temple, finishing at Shinkyogoku, a place where they could buy Japanese souvenirs. The guests were very gracious throughout the tour. One of the guests said the Kyoto Imperial Palace and the Sogenchi Garden were the highlights, and especially liked the concept of the rock garden's waterfall rock formation. Another of the guests said Kinkaku-ji Temple was the favorite. Although this was a one-day stay in Kyoto, I believe the guests enjoyed it very much.

What Is a Private One-Day Tour of Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle and Dotonbori The guests were visiting Japan, and everything went smoothly. This was their second visit to Japan, and I felt they were fond of Japan with considerable knowledge about the country. They viewed each spot with great interest and listened attentively to the guide's explanations. Although Osaka Castle was viewed only from the outside, they took many photos, which showed their high level of interest. At Dotonbori, they enjoyed a soft-serve ice cream from a popular performance stand and seemed very satisfied. I was able to hear very interesting stories about various countries they had visited, which was very meaningful for me as a guide. They also had a great sense of humor, and jokes between the guests and the guide kept us laughing throughout the tour. After the tour, they requested "okonomiyaki," so I guided them to a recommended restaurant, where we parted ways. They mentioned they would be joining an Osaka food-walking tour that evening.

    Dear my guests,

This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
and pleasant time with you today. I hope I can come here again and name you as our guide”, which is my great pleasure. Moreover, I would be
great honored if they say “I like Japan now thanks to you”.

Looking forward to meeting you soon here.
    Doomo Arigato Gozaimasu!

Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Koyasan (Mount Koya) Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests arrived at Senjuinbashi at the scheduled time. As we walked toward the Garan temple complex, we talked about their stay in Japan. We toured Konpon Daito, Miedo, Kujakudo, Saito, Shisho Myojin, and the Rokkaku Kyozo, and since it was noon, we moved to a restaurant for lunch. They enjoyed udon and sushi, and remarked that all the Japanese dishes were delicious. After that, we moved to Kongobuji and I guided them through the temple. They were deeply moved by the fusuma paintings and the Japanese garden. Afterward, though it is not usually part of the tour, we stopped by the Nestorian Stone Monument and the grave associated with a well-known figure. Walking along the Okunoin approach, the guests said the special atmosphere was wonderful. At the mausoleum, I handed them the candle they had brought so they could offer prayers. On the way back we took a different path, viewing various graves and taking photos. We ended the tour in front of the Nakanohashi parking area. The guests said that although Koyasan was a bit of a detour, they were truly glad they had come.

Hello, my name is Kiyoko. I have been a local English guide since 2016. I have studied the history and folklore at a local guide club and have an experience of guiding guests from various countries. I am good at Takijiri Oji-Takahara Jinja, Hosshinmon Oji-Hongu Taisha and Daimonzaka-Nachi Taisha, Seiganto-ji, Nachi Fall. Besides Kumano, I can guide Koyasan, Okunoin, Kongobu-ji, Danjo Garan, Niutsuhime Jinja and Jison-in. I have been to Koyasan 30-40 times . My aim is sharing a great time with guests while guiding. See you in Kumano or in Koyasan.

Since they were staying at a hotel in Odawara, we arranged to meet at Hakone-Yumoto Station. Based on their prior requests, we toured Hakone Shrine, Lake Ashi, the ropeway, and Owakudani using the Hakone Free Pass. As it was a Saturday and I anticipated crowds, we first took the bus from Hakone-Yumoto Station and traveled clockwise. Since it was cloudy all day, it was not particularly crowded. What Can You See on a Private Tokyo Day Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shiba, Nihonbashi, Tsukiji, and Asakusa The guests were a group from Europe and North America, and they spoke to each other in English. Both were very interested in Japan and asked many questions about Japanese history. The itinerary was proposed by the guide, but Zojoji Temple and Nihonbashi were added at the guests' request. They enjoyed a moderate amount of shopping as well, buying Toraya yokan in Nihonbashi, fresh oysters in Tsukiji, and a knife in Asakusa. For lunch, we went to "Tsukiji Yabu Soba" in the food court of the Uogashi Market in Tsukiji, where they had a tempura set meal and a tempura rice bowl. After sightseeing at Sensoji Temple, the guests expressed a wish to visit a pottery shop, so we also went to Kappabashi Kitchenware Street. I explained how to get back to their hotel from Asakusa, and the tour concluded at Kappabashi Kitchenware Street.

What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like for Senior Guests? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe, traveling around Japan on a well-planned itinerary. They stayed at a temple lodging on Mount Koya and visited hot spring towns such as Kinosaki and Arima. They mentioned that other members of their group were also in Japan at the time. In the evening they planned to enjoy high-end sushi, so during the day they savored street food such as curry bread and croquettes in Asakusa. At Meiji Shrine, we happened to encounter a bugaku performance and many wedding ceremonies. To reduce walking, instead of going all the way to Shimbashi on foot, we used a one-day subway pass from Shiodome. Since we also used it to access restrooms, purchasing the one-day pass proved worthwhile.

Private Tokyo Tour Report from a Licensed Guide: A One-Day Itinerary Covering Ueno, the Imperial Palace, and Meiji Shrine The guests were visitors from Europe, and it was their first time in Japan. The main part of their trip was a 14-day cruise from Asia arriving in Japan. They had arrived at Yokohama Port the previous morning and taken a taxi to their hotel in Tokyo. They planned to stay in Tokyo before flying home from Haneda Airport. The day before, after arriving, they had gone to Asakusa for a tea ceremony experience. The guests requested, "Even if the time at each location is short, we would like to visit as many sightseeing spots as possible." The tour took place under mostly cloudy weather. After meeting at the hotel, we traveled from Shinagawa Station to Ueno Station. First, we visited the Tokyo National Museum. The guests were knowledgeable about Japanese history and viewed the "kimono" and "tea ceremony utensils" with particular enthusiasm. They asked questions such as, "Where did the Japanese people come from?" and "Around what time did the samurai emerge?" We then moved on to the Imperial Palace. I explained "the Edo period and the Meiji Restoration," "why Edo Castle became the Imperial Palace," and "the current challenges facing the Imperial Family." They also asked, "Does the Emperor really live inside here?" and "Does the Emperor hold any political authority?" The guests requested lunch, so we went to Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. They mentioned, "We are fond of Japanese soba." Next, we moved to Hamarikyu Gardens. The guests said, "We love Japanese gardens, and we have built a small 'Japanese garden' in our own yard at home." They commented, "It's wonderful that there is such a beautiful Japanese garden in the middle of the city center." We then moved to Harajuku. At Meiji Shrine, I explained "what Shinto is" and "the difference between Shinto and Buddhism," as well as information about "Emperor Meiji." They remarked, "It's wonderful that there is such a green place here as well." They also commented, "The subway is far more advanced than the one in London," "The city is clean and there is no litter on the streets," "There are no trash cans on the streets," and "The public restrooms are clean and pleasant, quite different from London." I saw them off at Shinagawa Station, and we parted ways.

    Guiding career:
Guide work started in July 2022. A guide focused on FIT compliance.
    FY2022 results: 17 cases, FY2023 results: 97
Destinations: Various places in Tokyo, Hakone, Kamakura and Nikko
As a recent group travel record, in October 2023, we have a track record of guiding a group of 33 people from Singapore to Narita Airport transfer plus sightseeing in Tokyo.
    Self-introduction:
In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
I am a certified CPA in the United States.
In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

A Private Kumano Hayatama Taisha Shrine Tour Report: What Is "Our Four Soul"? A Licensed Guide's Experience The guest asked many sharp questions, which kept me on my toes, and the staff at Kumano Hayatama Taisha Shrine also did their best to explain. At the amulet counter, there was an expression, "our four soul," and the guest asked what it meant. Even the shrine staff were unsure, so a senior person came out from the back and kindly explained it. It was something I myself did not fully understand, so it was difficult to explain, but somehow we managed to reach an understanding. It was a good learning experience for me as well, so I told the guest to feel free to keep asking questions, and our conversation afterward became quite lively. When we parted, the guest said, "You did a great job today. Thank you."

Hi! My name is YUKA. I’ve got the government license in 2018 and joined a half year traning to do the guide. But a half year later I started my carreer, Covid came. I should have given up guiding. During the Covid, I’ve read many books and made my own materials to explain Japanese culture, history, etc. I love guiding because the guests expand my horizon all the time and let me know their own country and culture, etc. It is really important for us all to know each other and respect each other to make this world peace. Thank you for coming to Japan! Let’s enjoy Japan together!
