What Is a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. They had arrived the previous day, but they were very energetic and walked more than 15,000 steps. At Meiji Shrine, there were many children celebrating Shichi-Go-San, which the guests enjoyed very much. Asakusa was very crowded, but the guests were able to enjoy an atmosphere completely different from that of Meiji Shrine. In Ginza, we saw the food floor of the Mitsukoshi department store, Ginza Six, and the Kabukiza Theatre, and we had a sushi lunch. Since the guests would be staying in Tokyo for two more days, I recommended Ueno and Shinjuku, and we said goodbye at the Hotel.

This was a full-day private Tokyo tour using a chartered minivan. At first, the group was very curious about seeing things in Japan for the first time, and at Sensoji Temple they eagerly embraced the proper way to pray. At the Imperial Palace, they asked many questions about the existence of the imperial household. We joined the pedestrian paradise in Ginza and visited the Nissan showroom and Seiko House in Ginza 4-chome. The group had shown interest in the Tsukiji Outer Market beforehand, and we had ramen for lunch. They seemed surprised by the crowds at the Shibuya Crossing as we crossed it. Afterward, we stopped by Shibuya TSUTAYA and looked at manga, figures from American films, and the Pokemon Card Center. The group seemed excited by the Shibuya Crossing.

What Is a Private Osaka Day Tour Like? Osaka Castle, Sumiyoshi Taisha, and Kuromon Market — A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors to Japan. Since one of the guests preferred a slower pace and needed to rest along the way, we moved gradually with breaks. The guests also took photos frequently at every spot, which required extra time. They showed great interest at each location and asked many questions. Osaka Castle was extremely crowded, and although the admission tickets had been purchased in advance, the elevator inside involved a wait of about 30 minutes. Sumiyoshi Taisha was also very crowded with many visitors coming for shrine visits, but the guests experienced praying there, picked up the popular small "Go-Dai-Riki" stones, and purchased an amulet pouch. Finally, I guided them to the entrance of Kuromon Market, explained the transportation for their return, and we parted ways after exceeding the schedule by about 30 minutes.

I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
explanation for these three foods.

1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

Can You Do a Private One-Day Tour of Tokyo Covering Asakusa, Akihabara, and a Japanese Garden? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were first-time visitors to Japan from North America, and they were very active. Yesterday, they had visited the Imperial Palace on their own, and our planning session began with their question, "Can't we go inside?" Since the itinerary had not been finalized through our email exchanges beforehand, I listened to their wish to visit Japanese and historical places and built today's plan around that. At the same time, regarding a visit to the Tokyo Skytree observation deck, which could not be covered within the tour time, I explained how to make a reservation on the website. At places like the Nakamise shopping street in Asakusa, they were very excited and took many photos. At a tea shop, they were eager to try a set of Japanese sweets with matcha and enjoyed the experience with great satisfaction. By chance we passed a municipal park where a flea market was being held, and they looked at the items there with interest as well. Their enthusiasm for sightseeing was very high, to the point that they wanted to prioritize sightseeing even if it meant cutting into lunchtime. In Akihabara, I let them feel the overall atmosphere of the district from the main street, and to give them a firsthand experience inside a specific shop, we entered a large electronics store, which they enjoyed immensely. They wanted to buy a toy made of a curious clay-like rubber material, but the line at the cashier was too long, so they decided to come back another day. Some of the guests wished to buy cosmetics and matcha-related sweets as souvenirs, and since they would be coming to Tokyo Station the next day, I took them to a department store directly connected to Tokyo Station and showed them the relevant sales floors. At the final destination, Rikugien Garden, they fully savored the atmosphere of the Japanese garden, a complete change from the earlier bustle. Here too they took many photos.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Takayama Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests enjoyed the Miyagawa Morning Market and shopped in various spots. At Enako Yokocho and Takumikan as well, they purchased items such as woodblock prints and wooden kitchen tools. At Enako Yokocho, one of the guests left behind a single-lens reflex camera and, upon realizing it, returned to find that the camera was gone. We hurried together to the local police box, where a local resident had just arrived to hand in the camera, and it was safely returned. The guests were once again deeply moved by Japan's safety and the kindness of Japanese people. Because we spent too much time at the Miyagawa Morning Market, we ran a little behind schedule afterward, and it looked like we might not make it in time to pick up the woodblock prints kept at Enako Yokocho by 14:00. So while the guests shopped in the Sanmachi old town district, I went to collect the woodblock prints, which delighted them. After that, they viewed things such as the Takayama Festival floats with great interest and said they had thoroughly enjoyed Takayama.

What Is a Private Kyoto Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests had visited Japan several times before, but it was their first time in Kyoto. They were interested in Japanese culture and asked questions such as why Kyoto is considered the center of traditional Japanese culture. One of the guests seemed to enjoy photography and took many photos at each spot. Since they wanted to try authentic Japanese ramen, before the tour I recommended a ramen shop near Nishiki Market by email, and we went to eat there on the day. They seemed to like it, and both finished all of their soup. As they treated me to the ramen, I treated them to takoyaki at Nishiki Market, which they were very happy about. After visiting Kiyomizu-dera Temple, we stopped by a Ghibli shop, took photos with Totoro, and visited Yasaka Shrine. By then it was 15:30, so I asked how they would like to end the tour, and since they wanted to stroll around the area, we said goodbye there.

My son now works in Tokyo. I sometimes go to Tokyo to see him. Tokyo is a huge city, but too crowded, so it seems not to suit me. I seem to be better suited to a small city than a big one. Where do you live in ? How many families do you have ? If you like, please tell me about them. I worked in the quality assurance department of a pharmaceutical company and visited the factories of foreign affiliated companies, so I became interested in foreign cultures and obtained a qualification as an interpreter guide in 2015.

I have been a guide for about eight years. During that time, I have guided in Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Nara, Kochi and so on, although I could do little guiding work between 2020 and 2022 due to COVID-19. However, since last year, my guiding work has been back! So, I am happy to be able to meet different people again. My hobby is travelling, but sadly, I am not in a position to travel abroad easily at the moment due to the very weak yen, and I hope to travel abroad again when the situation eases a bit more.
How many countries have you been to so far ? Which countries have you liked so far? Another hobby is watching sports – baseball and football. Do you like the baseball ? Do you know Otani, Japanese baseball player ? He has joined Dodgers in Los Angeles this year. I look forward to another successful year for Otani.

By the way, what interests you in Japan? Food, history, scenery ? As far as tourist attractions are concerned, famous places are too crowded. If you like, I also would like to show you some less crowded places. Are you interested in experiencing something ? If you want to experience something, I can suggest an experience plan for you. If so, please contact me as early as possible. As for food, what kind of food do you like? There are many kinds of delicious food. Of course, you can get good food in fine restaurants, but you can also get good food in downtown restaurants. If you like alcohol, why don’t you try Japanese sake? It can range from light and fragrant to rich in flavor, so you’re sure to find a Japanese sake you like.

My motto is “Be content with life.” However, I find myself complaining all the time. If you like, please tell me your motto. I want to treat all guests who visit Japan with the spirit of “Treasure every encounter” and guide them so that they can enjoy themselves and have good memories of Japan.

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like for a Traveler Exploring Japan by Rental Car? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was a visitor now enjoying retirement and travel. Comfortable driving in other countries, the guest was touring by rental car. The itinerary I proposed was completed without any problems. In the afternoon, the guest planned to visit Katsura Imperial Villa. Having grown weary of the crowds at Kinkaku-ji and Kiyomizu-dera, the guest said the final stop, Sanjusangen-do, was the best because it could be viewed at a relaxed pace. The guest seemed to appreciate its understated, unshowy atmosphere. It might have been nice to take the guest to quiet places where one can feel wabi-sabi. Still, the guest was delighted to see the autumn leaves faintly turning red. Since the guest also planned to visit Osaka, I shared information about sights to see there.

Title: What Can You See on a Private Hakodate Day Tour from the Cruise Port? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe who had also enjoyed visiting a shrine and shopping along Sakaimachi Street near Otaru Port the previous day. This was essentially a first visit to Japan for the group, aside from a single trip to Tokyo more than fifty years ago. They had requested to visit Goryokaku Tower, and although their knowledge of Japan was very limited, they began to take great interest in the history and culture of Japan, Hokkaido, and Hakodate, asking many questions along the way. At Goryokaku Park, in front of the former magistrate's office, we were able to watch an iaido event, which they greatly enjoyed. As they had never visited a Japanese castle before, they mentioned they would like to go to a castle from the next port of call, Akita Port, if possible. They also loved Hakodate's famous salt ramen and purchased kombu for making dashi at the morning market. The weather was wonderful, the autumn foliage was beautiful, and the views were crystal clear, so they had a truly enjoyable time.

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like for First-Time Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan and Kyoto for the first time, coming from Europe. According to the booking details, the meeting point was listed as one branch of a hotel, but in fact the guests were staying at a different branch of the same hotel near Kyoto Station. We had to hurry over by subway, which caused a bit of frustration. The guests had a lively and outgoing personality, talking almost constantly. At the temples, they would end up photographing the Buddhist statues unless I said "No Photo!", and even when I tried to stop them, they ran after a maiko to follow her. At an okonomiyaki restaurant, they were completely absorbed in filming the entire cooking process from start to finish. While they generally did not listen closely to my explanations, they patiently listened whenever it came to topics they were personally curious about and asked me about — such as the relationship between Buddhism, Shinto, and the Emperor, House of Representatives elections, compulsory education, salaried workers' incomes, corporate overtime, and Japan's declining birthrate and aging population. They were the kind of charming and cheerful guests one occasionally encounters. At the end, when parting, they apologized for the confusion about the hotel earlier in the day, and I inwardly chuckled, thinking that they clearly did realize they had been mistaken after all. It was an enjoyable day.
