What Can You See on a 4-Hour Private Tokyo Walking Tour with a Licensed Guide? A Guide's Report The guest was a visitor from North America who had come to Japan several times before for travel. On this occasion, the guest arrived in Tokyo on the morning of the tour, having spent time elsewhere just beforehand. The guide met the guest in front of a sushi restaurant where the guest had been having lunch. I guided the guest to places that had not been covered on previous visits to Tokyo. At Meiji Shrine, it seemed to be the guest's first experience of worship at a Shinto shrine, and the guest engaged in it earnestly. During the 4-hour tour, the guest asked a wide variety of questions, including about the political relationship between China and Japan and public sentiment, and we visited the sights while conversing. The guest was also planning a future trip to Japan with family and repeatedly asked about the best time to travel and Japan's climate. The guest mentioned wanting to come to Japan, a country they had long been interested in, around the time one of the family members graduates from high school next year. After experiencing a tour that involved transferring between public transportation such as the subway, the guest remarked, "I could never do this kind of travel so confidently and efficiently on my own."

Title: What Is a Private Day Tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Park Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was a visitor from North America. On this private day tour, we visited Miyajima and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, experiencing the underground "kaidan-meguri" walk and strolling along Maple Road. The weather was cloudy. The guest is now retired. During the tour, conversation turned to current affairs, and since a national election was approaching in the guest's home region, this became a topic. As it was a very sensitive subject, I refrained from sharing my personal opinions and focused on listening. When the discussion touched on more centrist issues, it became clear that there can be considerable differences of opinion even within a single society.

Originally, I’m a cycling guide doing cycling tours all over Japan.
But, already done Hiroshima & Miyajima tour more than 400 times.
I traveled many countries in my younger days. I traveled Europe, US, China, India, US, Mexico, Peru Australia, NZ, and so on.
I decided to use this experience to become a guide.
I’m afraid but no tipping required, because cycling guides are not allowed to have tipping in my association. And you do not need to pay for my lunch, because my lunch is prepared by our group.
Please do not hesitate to ask me anything, I’ll change the plan according to your requests.
Thank you for your understanding and please stay connected.

Can You Visit Himeji Castle on a Private Day Tour in Japan? A Licensed Guide's Report At the guests' request, the plan was changed from Mount Koya to Himeji Castle on the day of the tour. Since the group had already visited many shrines and temples in Tokyo and Kyoto, they wanted to see a different kind of building, and so Himeji Castle was chosen. The guests were deeply impressed by the scale and grandeur of Himeji Castle, as well as the beautiful nishikigoi koi and the garden at Koko-en. They spent about four hours at Himeji Castle, taking their time to look around while resting on benches along the way. I guided the group to a restaurant that prepared a gluten-free lunch, which was very well received.

    • 3. UENO TOSHOGU SHRINE & World Heritage Sites
    • 4. SENSO-JI TEMPLE
    • 14:30 ending at the Tokyo Sky Tree

Title: What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Walking and Train Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from Europe who joked around throughout the day, making it a fun and lively tour. Since the tour started from a hotel near JR Mejiro Station, I suggested using the JR Tokyo Metropolitan District Pass. We traveled by JR to Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, the Imperial Palace, and Ueno, and then took the subway to Asakusa and the Tokyo Skytree, which the guests had requested. The guests showed no particular interest in the World Heritage building by Le Corbusier at the National Museum of Western Art in Ueno. Likewise, they did not show strong interest in the temples and shrines, so I assume their overall satisfaction with the tour was not very high. If [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/)'s booking platform were able to gather simple information about the guests' preferences, desired destinations, and areas of interest and pass it along to the assigned guide, I believe the customer experience and competitiveness against other companies would improve significantly.

Welcome to Japan. I hope you are going to enjoy your stay.

    Who am I?
I am a Licensed Guide Interpreter at an age of 61.
I got an early retirement from 36 yrs of the employment in a Japanese financial sector.
I hope I can attend to you with the Japanese politeness, hospitality and smile.

    What can I be expected?
I would like to introduce the photogenic sites, the indigenous experiences
and good Japanese local food around Tokyo, Hakone/Mt Fuji.
I might be able to show you the features of shrine and temple with a religious manner if you’d like.
As a matter of fact, I don’t have a specific religion to believe, though.
I love Japan and that’s why I started a new career as a guide.

    What do I love?
Most of all, my family. I have a wife 56 yrs old, a son 28 yrs old and a daughter 25 yrs old.
I like eating raw fish and sushi, buckwheat noodles and curry rice.

How do I spend my spear time?
I run for 5 km in the morning listening to my favorite music.
I might have a chance to go to a studio program in the fitness club nearby once a week.

I look forward to meeting you soon.
    Thank you.

Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Kanazawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The meeting point was originally at a Hotel, but since it was suddenly changed to a private lodging in Kanazawa, we moved the meeting point to the front of the Yasue Gold Leaf Museum. Since the guests were staying in Kanazawa, I made an effort to introduce recommended places to visit throughout the tour. The guests wished to visit Omicho Market, but as I had heard that one of the guests had quite particular dietary preferences (no fresh fish, beef, pork, or lamb), I was unsure how to proceed. After sampling a little sushi, I suggested a nearby okonomiyaki restaurant, which was very well received. It seems that okonomiyaki restaurants are not often seen in the guests' home area in North America. Finally, I introduced a department store with a food section and the cotton thread balls the guests had been looking for, and the tour came to an end.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Kyoto's Higashiyama and Gion Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. In our initial correspondence there was a wish to visit Kiyomizu-dera, but after learning that it had recently been extremely crowded, the plan was changed. Since the guests wished for quieter places, we strolled through the back streets of Gion and the Higashiyama area. We also passed through some popular spots (Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka), which turned out to be favorites as well (such as the Ghibli shop). At Nanzen-ji, although it was a Sunday, there were not many local visitors and it was not overly crowded, though it was a little lively.

What Is a Private Osaka Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kuromon Market, Shitennoji, and Osaka Castle On the day of the tour, it turned out that one member of the group had twisted an ankle and could not join, so the rest of the group went sightseeing. One of the guests was very curious and took many photos of things they found interesting. At Kuromon Market, they even went deep into a fish shop they would not normally enter, and saw unusual seafood as well as pufferfish and moray eels swimming in aquarium-like tanks. At Shitennoji Temple, they observed a monk chanting sutras and asked many enthusiastic questions about religion. The guests were very considerate of one another, picking up an English-language pamphlet for the member who could not attend, and at Shitennoji Temple they rubbed the foot of the "Binzuru-san" statue while praying for that person's injury to heal. We visited Osaka Castle last, since it tends to get crowded around midday. Because it was a Sunday with no school-trip students, the crowds were more manageable.

Hi! I’m an official English guide in Wakayama prefecture. I’m also a national guide as well. I’d like to expand my guide area to help tourists.
The town of Osaka offers a different atmosphere than Tokyo. I like both exciting Osaka and nature-filled Wakayama Prefecture.
If you stay in Osaka for 3 days, you can go to Koyasan for one day, or even for a day trip, so I recommend sightseeing at Koyasan.
If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city, the nature of Koyasan will relax you.
I will introduce you to the unique culture, history and must-see sights.

Title: What Can You See on a Private Family Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report on Skytree, Shibuya, Harajuku, and Asakusa Body: The guests were a group visiting Japan from Asia, though their nationality was European, as they had been living in Asia for many years. Some of the guests had visited Japan several times before, while the others were visiting for the first time. They had arrived at Narita Airport the previous night and traveled by train to their hotel. They were staying in Japan for a short period, spending time in Tokyo before continuing to Kyoto, with plans to return home from Kansai Airport. The guests requested a tour focused on the interests of the younger members of the group. The tour took place under cloudy skies. We first visited Tokyo Skytree. Although the view was not clear that day, the guests remarked, "We can really understand now how wide and large a city Tokyo is." From there, we moved to Shibuya. The guests experienced the Scramble Crossing and took commemorative photos in front of the Hachiko statue. They were impressed by the 3D screen imagery and asked, "Why are there so many people here? Are they mostly Japanese, or mostly travelers?" They bought a large number of plush toys at the Pokemon Center and the Nintendo store. Since the guests wanted to have sushi for lunch, we went to a sushi restaurant in Shibuya, where some of the guests ordered a large amount of cucumber rolls. From there, we moved to Harajuku. After strolling along Takeshita Street, we visited a café I had reserved in advance, which the guests said they greatly enjoyed. One of them commented, "Why are there so many animal cafés in Japan?" After this, we returned to Asakusa and visited a samurai and ninja museum I had reserved in advance. Afterward, the guests commented that the younger members of the group had greatly enjoyed it. We parted ways at Tawaramachi Station. The guests also shared several impressions: "The Japanese people are all so polite," "The streets are clean, with no litter anywhere," "There are no trash cans on the streets," "We don't see any homeless people," and "The public toilets are clean and pleasant to use."

    FY2022 results: 17 cases, FY2023 results: 97
Destinations: Various places in Tokyo, Hakone, Kamakura and Nikko
As a recent group travel record, in October 2023, we have a track record of guiding a group of 33 people from Singapore to Narita Airport transfer plus sightseeing in Tokyo.
    Self-introduction:
In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
I am a certified CPA in the United States.
In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

Title: What's a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shinjuku Gyoen, the Imperial Palace, Nezu, Yanaka, and Asakusa The guests were visitors from North America. In advance, they had requested Shinjuku Gyoen and the Imperial Palace. After confirming the itinerary at our meeting point, we started the tour. Since they had friends with experience visiting Japan, they asked about simple Japanese greetings, which I answered as we went along. Rather unusually these days, they also asked many questions about Japanese history. At Shinjuku Gyoen, we took our time exploring the Japanese garden and other areas. At Hanazono Shrine, I explained Shinto and we offered a prayer. While guiding them through Golden Gai, a young local resident of the metropolitan area who said they rarely had a chance to use English struck up a conversation, so we chatted together for a few minutes on the spot. At the Imperial Palace, after guiding them to the main gate, we had time to spare, so I gave them a quick tour of the East Gardens as well — though it ended up running about 40 minutes over. We made it to lunch in Nezu just in time. Although it was not Japanese cuisine, the guests were very pleased with the restaurant's special menu of the day, after which we strolled through Yanaka. At a bamboo craft shop in the shopping street, the guests purchased a souvenir. They mentioned that they each enjoy their own training routines. Finally, I guided them through the main hall of Senso-ji Temple, and they tried drawing omikuji fortunes (both of them drew wonderful results). We took photos and videos in front of Kaminarimon Gate. For their dinner that evening, I made a reservation at a shabu-shabu restaurant in Ginza, confirmed the reservation details with the guests by email, and we parted ways. They were light on their feet, cheerful, and full of curiosity, so I am sure they will be welcomed wherever they go.

Hi! I’m a local guide in Tokyo and have been working as a licensed tour guide for almost 10 years. I love helping guests discover the “real Japan” beyond the guidebooks. I enjoy showing guests both famous sights and places that many tourists miss. My tours are based on your interests and can include not only famous sightseeing spots, but also local neighborhoods, culture, history, and everyday life in Japan. I also help guests enjoy Japanese cultural activities and make communication easier. If you’d like vegan or gluten-free meals, let me help you find suitable restaurants in Tokyo. If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please feel free to let me know in advance. I look forward to showing you around Tokyo!

What Is a Private Guided Tour of Arashiyama in Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group of four visiting the popular Sagano-Arashiyama district in Kyoto. They had already explored other areas of Kyoto on their own, so they wished to see the Arashiyama area with a guide. They thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful gardens of Tenryu-ji Temple and Okochi Sanso Villa. The group was very friendly, and I could constantly hear laughter, which I was occasionally invited to join in as well. It was a very enjoyable day. Thank you very much.
