    What Is a Private Tour of Shibamata and Taishakuten in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report At the start there was a slightly cautious atmosphere between us, but gradually more smiles appeared, and by the time we parted the guests were very pleased. Among the places we visited this time, the guests said the wood carvings in the paid area of Daikyoji Temple (Taishakuten) left the strongest impression. When visiting Taishakuten, I always recommend the paid area as well, and overall it seems to be well received.

    Title: What Is a Private Tour of Tokyo's Tsukiji Market Like Before the Shinkansen to Kyoto? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. Since they planned to head to Kyoto on the Shinkansen after 4:00 p.m., I arranged for an Alphard vehicle to meet the group at the Hotel at 3:00 p.m. On the way, we stopped at Shibuya Station to purchase Suica cards for some of the guests, which made travel much smoother. At the Tsukiji Outer Market, the group showed great interest in the many kinds of ingredients, purchased a pack of strawberries, and strolled through the market while enjoying them. Although one of the guests did not care for raw fish, they chose a tempura menu at a long-established sushi restaurant, and everyone was able to enjoy authentic sushi and tempura.

    Title: What Is a 4-Hour Private Family Group Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a large group visiting from Oceania, including several younger members of the group, two of whom used strollers. Because it was a short four-hour tour with many young children, I planned an itinerary with as much flexibility as possible. We started at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building near the Hotel. Being indoors, it was warm, and since some of the guests were hungry and wanted to have lunch, it turned out to be a good choice. After that, the guests wanted to exchange their Japan Rail Pass and also purchase Suica cards, so we went to the ticket counter at Shinjuku Station. Fortunately, the counter at the south exit was open, and they were able to exchange the Japan Rail Pass, purchase reserved seat tickets for the Takayama, Kyoto, and Osaka route, and buy Welcome Suica cards, which put the guests at ease. Afterward, we went to Shibuya, where in front of the Hachiko statue they happened to be interviewed for a television news program (unfortunately, it was cut when the segment aired). After that, since some of the group wished to stay in Shibuya, I introduced them to Nintendo Tokyo, and since others had a Mario Kart reservation, I guided them to Kanda, where we parted ways.

    What's a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like from Tsukiji to the Imperial Palace? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. The main purpose of this trip was to take part in the Tokyo Marathon. For that reason, one of the guests was under strict dietary management, while another had a strong interest in food. We did not have a meal during the tour, but I introduced Tsukiji Market and recommended several dining spots located along our route. Saying "This is important information," one of the guests checked the restaurant names and locations on their smartphone. At the Imperial Palace, we spotted foreign runners who appeared to have come to Japan for the same purpose, the Tokyo Marathon. One of the guests commented, "The sportswear that runner is wearing is from a certain event, and the one over there is from another event." In the latter half of the tour, the guests seemed a little tired due to jet lag. Wishing them the best of luck in the Tokyo Marathon, we said goodbye in front of a department store in Ginza near the Hotel.

    What Is a Private One-Day Osaka Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The travel agency acting as an intermediary between the guests and [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) had recorded the wrong messaging app number, and the email on file belonged to the agency itself, so despite being the intermediary they never sent any communication. As a result, I suddenly had to meet the guests directly at the hotel, but I was relieved that they appeared in the hotel lobby right on time. They had just arrived at Shin-Osaka from Tokyo, and if the timing had been off, we might have missed each other. The guests were traveling in Japan and were aware that their registration information with the travel agency was incorrect. Since they would spend only one day in Osaka and were heading to Kyoto the next day, we first went to Osaka Castle. I borrowed their smartphone and took many photos of them. They also asked other tourists to take photos that included me, saying they would keep them as memories. The weather in Osaka today was warm and pleasant, and since it had been cold in Tokyo, they were very happy. They come from a region where the seasons are the reverse of Japan's, so the warmth was a nice change. At Dotonbori, I realized they liked traditional Japanese things, so we went to Hozenji Yokocho, which delighted them, and they took many photos there as well. They also poured water over the Fudo statue and made a wish. We had talked about stopping by the Umeda Sky Building on the way back, but as we came near Ebisubashi, they spotted a restaurant serving cuisine from their home region and were drawn to it with a sense of nostalgia. They did not have much cash, but since the place accepted cards, they decided to have a meal there. It was just past 17:00, so after that I gave them directions and guidance on which trains and transfers to take, and they planned to visit the Umeda Sky Building on their own before returning to their hotel near Shin-Osaka. When I mentioned that [Japan Guide Agency](https://www.j-g-a.org/) might use their photos for promotion, the guests said they would send me some good ones and sent several. They thought the photos with me were nice too, but asked that I use the ones where they appeared slimmer rather than fuller. (laughs)

    If you stay in Osaka for 3 days, you can go to Koyasan for one day, or even for a day trip, so I recommend sightseeing at Koyasan.
    If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city, the nature of Koyasan will relax you.

    What's a One-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Shibuya, and Meiji Shrine Haneda Airport had been designated as the meeting point, but I suggested meeting at the exit of Asakusa Station on the Toei Asakusa Line, thinking that moving a little closer to the city center would allow for more efficient use of time. The guests were only spending this single day in Tokyo, and since they found it convenient to travel between Asakusa and Haneda Airport without transfers, we ended up finishing the tour in Asakusa as well. The thing I struggled with most this time was where to have lunch. Due to the itinerary, we ended up having lunch in Shibuya, but because it was during a holiday period, everywhere was crowded, so I was relieved when I found a miso ramen restaurant I had used before that was relatively empty. Thanks to the guests being willing to make the trip, we had plenty of time throughout the tour, and before returning to Asakusa I was able to take some time to briefly show them Akihabara. Including Meiji Shrine, I think it was a day where we were able to efficiently visit the popular spots.

    What Can You See on a Private Tour of Nezu, Asakusa, and Akihabara in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. At their request, I guided them through Nezu, Asakusa, and Akihabara, and we said goodbye in Shibuya. Nezu Shrine had almost no tourists, so we were able to enjoy the row of torii gates at a relaxed pace. Some of the guests seemed to really like the old buildings in the Nezu area. In Asakusa and Akihabara, some of the guests did quite a bit of shopping along Nakamise Street. One of the guests was quite shy, kept a mask on the whole time, and stayed out of the photos, but seemed to be enjoying the shopping, which was a relief. One of the guests remarked with surprise that they usually never buy anything when traveling, yet had bought so much starting from the second day. They also said they were happy to see the shy guest acting so actively, since that guest usually tends to stay within their own shell. This was their first trip to Japan, and they were sightseeing only in Tokyo as a trial. I hope they will come back and visit other parts of Japan as well.

    What Is a Private Kyoto Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kodaiji and the Philosopher's Path The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. It was their first family trip together in a while. Since I myself had once undergone two weeks of training in North America, the place brought back fond memories. All of the guests listened attentively and responded well to my explanations. The tour had originally been planned for an earlier date, but at the guests' request we shifted it to avoid a snowy day, which turned out to be the right decision. The weather during the tour was mild, warm enough that gloves were not even necessary. Around Kodaiji Temple, there were many foreign tourists sitting in front of shops and on the steps taking photos. Many of them appeared to be from Asia. After Kodaiji Temple and Entokuin, we had planned to visit Nanzenji Temple, but since one of the guests seemed tired, possibly due to jet lag, we skipped Nanzenji and headed to the Philosopher's Path instead. Afterward, we shared a taxi back to the Hotel, and the tour came to an end. The photo was taken in the bamboo grove within Kodaiji Temple.

    What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Before the tour started, I asked the guests about their wishes and guided them accordingly. Although it was a little cold, we were blessed with good weather and were able to complete the planned itinerary. The guests were visiting Japan for the first time and planned to stay for about two weeks, having arrived in Tokyo the day before. During the tour, they asked many questions about Japanese culture, history, and customs, and seemed very interested in Japan. For lunch, since they had eaten sushi the day before, they requested ramen, so I took them to Naoyu in Shinbashi, and they were very pleased. They also asked the shop manager what kind of broth was used and were surprised (Naoyu uses a chicken bone-based broth). The guests were very friendly and easy to guide.

    What Is a Private Day Tour from Kobe Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, Nunobiki Herb Garden, and Kitano Today's guests were visitors from Oceania who came to Japan to attend an international academic conference being held in Kobe. Although the tour was originally scheduled for just one participant, the guests contacted me the night before the tour, and it became a tour for the group. The tour route was arranged at the guests' request, covering the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden, a hike to Nunobiki Falls, and the Kitano area. Perhaps because today was a weekday following a three-day holiday weekend, there were few tourists everywhere we visited. One of the guests, who keeps chickens at home, was very keen on birdwatching during the hike, while another was enthusiastic about taking photographs, so the tour tended to run long. Also, although I thought I had been careful, there were a few small missteps, such as becoming separated from the guests at a curve in the hiking trail (we did, of course, reunite). Even though there were only a small number of guests, guiding them was surprisingly demanding. It was a tour where it felt almost mysterious that we finished on time. From what I could observe, the guests seemed to have enjoyed themselves reasonably well.
