At Nezu Shrine, our first stop, we saw three sets of families bringing their babies for their first shrine visit. While strolling through the Yanesen area, the guests immediately enjoyed freshly baked anpan at a handmade bakery. At shops selling chiyogami paper and paulownia boxes, they purchased several souvenirs, and we had a delicious lunch at a craft beer brewery restaurant before strolling through Ameyoko. The tour ended in Asakusa.

    Title: What Is a Private Kanazawa Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was visiting from North America and especially enjoyed the calm atmosphere of Kanazawa, particularly from the first half of the tour at Higashi Chaya District. Since the guest had arranged in advance to join a Myoryuji Temple tour booked for 3:00 p.m., we decided to end the tour course at Nagamachi. Although it was a sunny Sunday, there were surprisingly few tourists. The plum blossoms at Kenrokuen were still in bud, which was a bit unfortunate, but the guest enjoyed the visit nonetheless. Kanazawa Castle Park was not originally part of the plan, but since we had the chance, we entered through the Ishikawa Gate just to take some photos. On the way from below Kenrokuen to Korinbo (Nagamachi Samurai District) by bus, a loop bus happened to arrive, so even though it was a longer route, we deliberately boarded it, and I pointed out the bus stop near Myoryuji Temple and the location in the Nishi Chaya District where lunch had been booked, which put the guest at ease.

A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America and had arrived the previous night, planning to stay for about a week (including two days in Kyoto). They were staying at a hotel in the Odaiba area, and I arranged a route covering their requested destinations of Tokyo Tower, the Imperial Palace, Akihabara, and the Asakusa area. From Asakusa, I planned a route to return to Odaiba by water bus, allowing them to enjoy a Sumida River cruise along the way. We had originally planned to board the 14:10 water bus, but unfortunately it was fully booked, so we took the 14:40 departure instead, 30 minutes later. As a result, we arrived at Odaiba 30 minutes over the six-hour schedule, but I did not charge any extension fee. Blessed with warm, fine weather throughout the day, the guests were very satisfied that we were able to efficiently visit many sightseeing spots. They were also pleased with the various suggestions I offered for their Tokyo sightseeing from the next day and their Kyoto sightseeing, saying it was very helpful.

    What's a Private Yanaka and Ueno Walking Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe. Before meeting them, I had a different impression of their relationship, so I was a little surprised. They had no specific requests and, since it was their first visit, asked me to plan everything, which was a bit challenging at first. I had initially been considering the classic spots such as Asakusa, Meiji Shrine, and the Imperial Palace. Later I received an email explaining that they had arrived in Japan on the day the tour was booked through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), with the tour set for two days later, and that the day after their arrival they had joined a bus tour. When I asked where the bus tour had taken them, they mentioned Meiji Shrine, Asakusa, the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Skytree, Hamarikyu, and more, so I quickly reworked the plan. Fortunately, they wanted to see old Japanese townscapes, so I proposed Yanaka, Nezu, and Ueno, which became the plan for the day. Since they had received little information on the bus tour, they said they were looking forward to hearing explanations today. The guests were sincere and listened very attentively to topics such as Japan, Tokyo, the "kimon" (unlucky direction), and religion, asking many questions. At the end, I guided them to the East Gardens, which they had not visited the day before, and we parted ways. They told me they had a wonderful time. Unlike the previous day, the weather was fine, which I was also grateful for.

    What's a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour Beyond Temples and Shrines Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests came from North America and were on a five-week trip that had taken them through other parts of Asia before arriving in Japan, where they traveled through the Kansai region and Hiroshima before reaching Tokyo. Since they would be returning home the following day, today was their final Tokyo tour, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. In our correspondence beforehand, they mentioned that they had already visited many temples and shrines, so they asked me to plan something different. I arranged an itinerary that included Takeshita Street in Harajuku, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku, Godzilla Road in Kabukicho, and Yanaka. They took many photos at each location and were delighted to sense how completely different the atmospheres of Takeshita Street, Godzilla Road, and Yanaka were, even within the same city of Tokyo. They also seemed to greatly enjoy the ramen I introduced them to for lunch on the second floor of a hall in Kabukicho, which served regional ramen from various parts of Japan.

    My name is Nobuo Kokure, and please call me Nobby for short, if you want.
    Let me introduce myself. I was born in Hayama, a beach resort area, Kanagawa prefecture, south of Tokyo. And I’m now living in Saginuma, Kawasaki city.
    When I was a university student, I had the opportunities of doing a home stay with a family In U.S.A., Australia, and England, as a youth exchange student.
    After graduation from the university, I started working at American Life Insurance Company, Japan (Alico, Japan), which is a group member company of AIG, now MetLife Insurance Company. I could have a chance to visit the head office and the field offices of U.S.A., Wilmington in Delaware, New York, Boston, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale in Florida, Los Angeles, while I was working for Alico, Japan (Now, MetLife Insurance company).
    I had been working for MetLife Insurance Company for about 38 years, in total.
    After retiring from the life insurance company, I started working as a tour guide, because I wanted to become a tour guide to introduce culture, history, and manners and customs of Japan in English. It’s so different between my previous job and the guide business, but I like guide business a lot.
    I can meet so many people from all over the world and the guide business has been thriving after the pandemic.
    I have implemented the tour over 240 times, introduced Japan to more than 4300 tourists from 53 countries.

    Not only Tokyo, but I have experienced touring around Nikko, Kamakura, Mt. Fuji & Hakone area, Takayama, Kanazawa, Nagoya, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Hiroshima, etc. which are all very famous as a tourist spot in Japan.
    If you go on a tour in Tokyo, you must see and visit Asakusa Sensoji Temple which is the oldest Buddhist Temple in Tokyo with histories and Nakamise Shopping Street where you can buy the souvenirs and try to taste Japanese sweets, such as doll cake which is the sponge cake in various shapes filled with red bean paste and Japanese powdered tea ice cream. Another my recommendation in Tokyo to visit is Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, and Shibuya. Meiji Shrine is one of the biggest shrines in Japan with quiet and peaceful atmosphere and magnificent site.
    Harajuku and Shibuya are both fun to visit for shopping and experience the Shibuya Crossing.
    I usually propose my tentative itinerary and ask if my plan is all right with the customer or not. My hobby is traveling around Japan and foreign countries and going to the gym for exercise.
    I would like to work as a guide as long as possible if I’m in good health and my legs are strong, because I love this job.
    I put my importance on the mind of OMOTENASHI which means sincere hospitality, though safety during the tour takes precedence, number one priority, before anything else.

    Title: What Is a Family-Friendly Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tokyo Skytree and Solamachi This was a private Tokyo tour for a group visiting Japan. The tour included the view from Tokyo Skytree, the Plarail and Tomica toy shops at Solamachi, and a cat-shaped serving robot at a family restaurant, all of which the group seemed to enjoy very much. There were plenty of favorite spots along the way, and the group rested during some parts of the tour. While the tour was tailored to be family-friendly, the group also enjoyed uniquely Japanese treats such as ningyo-yaki cakes and Japanese-style pasta, and I was able to take many photos for them throughout the day.

Both were strong walkers, so we were able to move around smoothly. At Osaka Castle, although we viewed it only from the outside, they were very impressed by its grandeur and beauty, especially the view from the rooftop of "Miraiza" nearby. In front of the castle, they kindly and warmly responded to interviews by elementary school students learning English. They also toured Shitennoji Temple with great interest and enthusiasm. As one of the guests had studied religious studies at university, I received many related questions. They tried the "taiyaki" inside Tennoji Station and commented that it was very delicious. At our final spot, Shinsekai, they wanted to try the local specialty "kushikatsu," so I introduced a restaurant to them and we parted ways there. Throughout the tour, they listened attentively to my explanations, responded quickly to my jokes, and even returned jokes of their own, which made it a very enjoyable tour to guide, and I was grateful for that.

    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
    and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
    foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
    Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

    Can You Do a Private One-Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America who had arrived in Japan a couple of days earlier. The day before, they had visited Sensoji Temple and Nakamise in Asakusa, as well as Nezu Shrine. This morning, at the meeting point, they had a friend who visits Japan every year email them recommended spots for the day, so I created an itinerary based on those suggestions, presented it to the guests, and we set off. They were both strong walkers and never seemed to tire. We were able to cover all of the recommended spots within the time available, and they appeared very satisfied with the tour. Throughout the tour, they kept in touch by message with family back in North America, and on Takeshita Street they bought several gashapon capsule toys of a character requested by their family. Since they had a reservation for teamLab Borderless starting at 15:30, I explained the route from in front of the ticket gates at Shinjuku Station (JR Yamanote Line to Ebisu Station, then Hibiya Line from Ebisu to Kamiyacho), and we parted ways there.

    Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, on their first trip to Japan, who came to Kyoto after staying in Tokyo. Since we had not decided on specific destinations in advance, we planned the route after meeting and then started the tour. The guests were quite devout, bowing when passing through the torii gates and lighting candles to pray at the inner shrine. At Fushimi Inari Taisha, they bought a torii-shaped ema as a souvenir. After strolling through the Arashiyama bamboo grove, they said they would like a coffee break, so we rested at a cafe along Nagatsuji Street. After visiting Kinkaku-ji, they purchased a framed metal engraving decoration priced at around ¥16,500 and several handkerchiefs at a souvenir shop. I had intended to show them the bus from Kinkaku-ji to Kyoto Station and then part ways, but as they seemed a little uneasy, I boarded the bus with them, saw them off at Kyoto Station, and then said goodbye. The weather was very nice, and the guests seemed delighted.

    Title: What's a Private Tokyo Day Tour Like for First-Time Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were active senior travelers from Europe visiting Japan for the first time, though they had previously traveled to many other countries in Asia, including China, India, and Southeast Asia. They decided to visit Japan after hearing how much a member of their family had enjoyed traveling here the previous year. After Tokyo, they planned to visit Kyoto and Osaka, and then continue on to Hong Kong, where they had once lived. They seemed to be enjoying their time exchanging updates about their trip in Japan with a family member currently staying in India. Based on this, I arranged the itinerary so they could visit the places their family member had recommended. At the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, they experienced crossing it themselves. For Kappabashi, I advised them to visit it on another day when they would be sightseeing in Asakusa. They also wanted to stop by Yoyogi Park even if it meant skipping Meiji Shrine, and while strolling there we were able to admire Kawazu cherry blossoms that happened to be in full bloom. They were aware that Somei-Yoshino cherry blossoms were not yet blooming at this time of year, and were delighted, saying, "Being able to see these beautiful Kawazu cherry blossoms is a bonus for us!" For Omoide Yokocho in Shinjuku, we arranged for them to go on their own during dinner time. Regarding their wish to enjoy street food, I guided them to Tsukiji, but since one of the guests was not fond of fish, we decided to have ramen for lunch so everyone could enjoy it together. Starting with buying a meal ticket in Shibuya, they tried tsukemen-style ramen this time and thoroughly enjoyed it, finding it delicious. As for the shops they came across in areas such as Ginza (such as UNIQLO, Ito-ya, and Kyukyodo), one of the guests expressed enthusiasm about coming back to do some shopping.
