    Title: What's a Private Tokyo Tour of Harajuku, Akihabara, and Nihonbashi Like? A Licensed Guide's Report At the meeting point at the first Hotel, there happened to be a wedding taking place in the lobby right around 1:00 PM, which made for a wonderful surprise for the guests on this tour. The number of participants was listed as "3 Adult," but the group actually consisted of the guests, including a child. Originally, I had planned to focus the tour on Harajuku and Akihabara, but after learning that one of the guests was fond of character goods, I added a character goods store in Nihonbashi, which was on the way to Akihabara, to the course. Since it was the weekend and quite crowded, we first took a numbered ticket, and after guiding them around Akihabara, we returned to Nihonbashi just in time, ending the tour in front of the store.

    I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.

    One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. Although it was a cold day with occasional snowfall, I think they were able to relax in the nature of Nikko after having toured around Tokyo.     What Is a Family-Friendly Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Shinjuku Gyoen The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from Africa. It was such a delight to spend the day with them, and I felt as fond of them as I would of my own grandchildren. At Tsukiji, I introduced Japanese food culture while they enjoyed sashimi and other dishes. In Asakusa, they had a wonderful time with swords, delicious ningyo-yaki, and drawing omikuji fortunes. Since it was a rather chilly day, we decided on ramen for lunch, and they were truly impressed by the flavor. At Shinjuku Gyoen we were short on time, so I took plenty of photos for them first, and we said our goodbyes in the Japanese garden. They enjoyed the day very much, and it made me happy too.

    What's a Private Cherry Blossom Tour of the Tokyo Imperial Palace Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was visiting Japan for the first time from North America. The guest mentioned having gained knowledge about Japan through the series "Shogun" and "Tokyo Vice." While touring the Imperial Palace grounds via Sakuradamon Gate, Nijubashi Bridge, and the Main Gate on the way toward Tokyo Station, we noticed that the Inui-dori passage through the Imperial Palace had just opened, and we could see the line of visitors waiting to enter. Since the weather was wonderful, I mentioned it to the guest, who said, "This is a once-a-year opportunity, so I'd like to go," and we slightly adjusted the original plan. We walked through Inui-dori and continued strolling through Kitanomaru Park toward Kudanshita Station, fully enjoying the various types of cherry blossoms blooming within the Imperial Palace grounds, the Somei-Yoshino cherry trees blooming toward the surface of the moat in front of Tayasumon Gate, and the cherry blossoms together with traditional Japanese architecture. For lunch near Tokyo Station, the guest ordered a sushi set meal and enjoyed it thoroughly. Afterward, at the basement food hall of the Nihonbashi Takashimaya department store, the guest focused on chocolate. Saying they were particular about chocolate, the guest purchased some made by a French chocolatier, remarking, "If it's this expensive, I'll have to enjoy it with the family." The best-before date was early November, which was reassuring. As a result, the tour ran longer than planned, but the guest commented that since the weather was reportedly not going to be good the next day, thanks to seeing so many places today, they could relax indoors tomorrow. At Roppongi Hills, I introduced the giant spider sculpture (Louise Bourgeois's work "Maman"), a similar one of which is also displayed at the Guggenheim Museum, and we parted as the guest boarded a bus bound for Shibuya Station at the nearby bus stop.

    Title: What's a Private Tokyo Tour with Asakusa and Cherry Blossoms Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were visitors from North America who had spent around 20 hours traveling to reach Tokyo. When I asked about the motivation for making such a long journey to Japan, they said they had a strong interest in cultural experiences. While confirming the tour details at the meeting point at the Hotel, one of the guests mentioned that their finger had been caught in a car door at the airport before departure, and hoped to have it looked at after visiting Asakusa. Soon after arriving in Asakusa, we checked at the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center about hospitals where English was spoken and insurance could be processed. We decided to do some sightseeing first and then head to a business clinic in Ueno afterward. The cherry blossoms at Sensoji Temple were about 70% in bloom and had become beautifully full. We enjoyed Sensoji, stopping for ningyo-yaki at Nakamise and visiting a dango shop on the way back, and walked as far as Sumida Park to check the blossoms, which looked to be about 50% in bloom there. After leaving Asakusa, we went to a hospital, which was not on the original itinerary at all, but since it was a priority, I decided to stay with them until it was finished. At the first hospital they were not able to receive full treatment and were referred elsewhere, so they were seen at an emergency clinic in Kanda. While waiting at the hospital, I was able to explain how to get around Hakone, which they were planning to visit, and we also talked about culture, religion, and other topics. The day ran considerably longer than planned, but it turned out to be a day for which the guests were very grateful.

I have been guiding throughout Tokyo (I was born and raised in Setagaya and went to elementary and junior high school in Aoyama, Minato-ku. I am familiar with sightseeing spots and gourmet food in this area, including Shibuya), and I now live in Kanagawa (Yokohama where I have lived more than 30 years, and Kamakura, Odawara, Hakone)
    I worked for the Japanese branch of an American advertising company for over 30 years and, thus, have deep knowledge of marketing and branding.
    My hobbies are travel (domestic and international) and bicycling (I have participated in the Tour de Okinawa citizens’ race every year since 2017. I ride approx. 7,000 kilometers a year). When traveling in Japan, I enjoy traditional crafts, local products, food, and sake from each region. I am also active in a band as a third hobby, performing live once a year for ten years.

    Title: What Are the Best Cherry Blossom Spots in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Private Tour Report of Shinjuku Gyoen and the Meguro River Body: [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private cherry blossom tour in Tokyo, taking the guests to Shinjuku Gyoen and the Meguro River Cherry Blossom Festival. When I sent a confirmation email two days before, I received a reply requesting a guide for the following day, and I explained that I was unable to accommodate that request. After there was no further reply, I consulted [Japan Guide Agency](https://www.j-g-a.org/) and received a helpful response from the staff, for which I was very grateful. In the end, the tour proceeded smoothly as planned. Both Shinjuku Gyoen and the Meguro River were requested after we met on the day of the tour, and the guests were able to enjoy cherry blossoms in full bloom at both spots, appearing very satisfied. They also requested to travel by taxi. The weather was cloudy, cold, and occasionally spitting rain, but it was light enough that umbrellas were not needed, and the guests said this level of weather was perfectly fine as they fully enjoyed the beautiful cherry blossoms. Shinjuku Gyoen features a spacious and beautiful Japanese garden with many varieties of cherry blossoms in bloom, while along the Meguro River the beautiful cherry blossoms seemed to continue endlessly. It was wonderful to be able to offer two different styles of cherry blossom viewing on this private tour.

    A Private Walking Tour of Yanaka and Asakusa in Tokyo: A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time, having arrived from Europe the previous evening, so I guided them while also explaining how to use the subway and the bullet train. At Yanaka Cemetery we were able to enjoy the rows of cherry trees in full bloom, though the temperature dropped to midwinter levels and it turned into a walk in the chilly cherry-blossom weather. While they showed interest in shrines and temples, at Yanaka Ginza they bought donuts at a local shop, and at Nakamise they also enjoyed matcha and ningyo-yaki. For lunch, there was a request for vegetarian options, so they had ramen and gyoza at a vegan ramen restaurant. At the final stop, Senso-ji Temple, they said they wanted to walk around Asakusa a little more, so after explaining that they could return to Kyobashi directly on the Ginza Line, we parted ways at the site.

    What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nijo Castle, Gion, and Arashiyama The guest came to Japan from Europe. The guest appeared to be retired and enjoying traveling. On this trip, the guest had also traveled through other parts of Asia before arriving in Japan. The guest seemed very interested in anything electrical and was busy photographing power lines around the city. Since the guest did not like being in photos, I was never asked to take pictures and could focus entirely on guiding. We used taxis several times. After finishing at Nijo Castle, the guest asked to end the tour one hour early, at 4:00 p.m. After I guided them around Gion, they headed back to the hotel by taxi. It was a day with a slightly cold wind, but sunny breaks made it a comfortable day for sightseeing. The cherry blossoms varied by variety, with some near full bloom and others still in bud. The photo was taken at a tempura restaurant in Arashiyama.

    I was born and grew up in Kyoto and now live near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I used to be a schoolteacher of English and welcome a lot of students from foreign countries. I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people.     What Is a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo's Koishikawa Korakuen, Ueno, and Asakusa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Just before entering Koishikawa Korakuen, our first stop, a staff member noticed that the guest's video camera was somewhat large and conspicuous, and treated it the same as a tripod or selfie stick, asking that it not be used inside the garden. We had no choice but to comply, but it was still only around 9:00 with very few visitors, and neither the guest nor I could understand the reasoning behind not being allowed to use it. The guest patiently accepted the situation, but while walking through the garden and seeing others using tripods and large cameras with telephoto lenses, they repeatedly tilted their head in confusion at this "rule." At Ueno Park, the guest seemed to have already grown a little tired of viewing the cherry blossoms, so I explained the history of Ueno Park, the National Museum of Western Art, the statue of Hideyo Noguchi, the National Museum of Nature and Science, the Tokyo National Museum, Ueno Toshogu Shrine, Kiyomizu Kannon-do Temple, the statue of Saigo, and more, satisfying the guest's curiosity. They appeared very pleased. In Asakusa, we enjoyed tempura together, and the guest seemed to really love the atmosphere of the restaurant. We visited Nakamise Street, Sensoji Temple, Asakusa Shrine, and the western approach, and the guest was so intrigued by goldfish scooping that they even went inside the shop to take a closer look. When we parted, the guest expressed great gratitude and we ended the tour. Since it was on my way home, I accompanied them as far as Kanda Station.

    Title: What Can You See on a Private Cherry Blossom Tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe whose main wish was simply to see the cherry blossoms. For that reason, on Miyajima we went as far as Omoto Park, a spot not often visited by tourists. There were few people, and they liked it very much. I also guided them to a blade and cutlery shop on Miyajima, which they enjoyed greatly, and they purchased some items. As they did not eat pork, they instead enjoyed a beef curry bread at a curry bread shop. Afterward, they took in the cherry blossoms at the Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima Castle, and Shukkeien Garden. At Shukkeien Garden in particular, they were delighted to be able to attend a nighttime illumination event held only during the cherry blossom season. I was glad to be able to show them cherry blossoms at every location.
