A Licensed Guide's Report on Shukkeien Garden and the Peace Memorial The guests were friends visiting from Oceania, and they had already been enjoying their trip to Japan, having visited Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara. The weather forecast had predicted heavy rain, but on the day itself it was only a light drizzle, very cool and comfortable. I had been considering skipping Shukkeien Garden depending on the weather, so I was glad we were able to visit it after all. The guests enjoyed the scenery of Shukkeien Garden and took many photographs. They also took their time viewing the Peace Memorial Museum. They said the exhibits at the museum were wonderful and that people should see them. The guests were very friendly, and the atmosphere remained pleasant throughout. We visited the Cenotaph, the Children's Peace Monument, and the Atomic Bomb Dome, and I guided them to the tram heading to Hiroshima Station before saying goodbye. A notable stop on the tour was the Atomic Bomb Dome. The Atomic Bomb Dome, part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the few structures left standing near the hypocenter of the 1945 atomic bombing. It stands as a powerful symbol of peace and a reminder of the importance of a world without nuclear weapons, drawing visitors from around the world who come to reflect on its history.

    Title: What Is a 4-Hour Private Walking Tour of Sapporo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour was originally scheduled to start at 9:30, but at the request of the guests it began at 10:00 instead. The weather was not ideal, with occasional light rain, but we were still able to complete the entire planned itinerary.     Can You Do a Private Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Akasaka, and Meiji Shrine I guided a group visiting from Europe. Before the tour, I asked about their preferred destinations and replied with a proposed itinerary. When we met on the day, I reconfirmed the itinerary with the guests and started the tour on time (the guests had already downloaded the SUICA app in advance). While guiding at each location, during lunch, and on the train, we had a variety of conversations. The guests had a great deal of mountaineering experience, including the European Alps, mountains in Southeast Asia, and Mount Everest, as well as experience trekking a pilgrimage route from Portugal to Spain and trekking to Machu Picchu in Peru. During their stay in Japan, they planned to climb Mount Fuji and to visit Hakone, Kanazawa, the Chubu region, Kyoto, Nara, and Hiroshima. In Tokyo, they planned to watch morning training at a sumo stable and to experience a tea ceremony, and they also wanted to see a special exhibition of the Japanese art collection from the British Museum at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. They also shared some rare pieces of information about their home region, such as changes in local prices and details about a zoo, including a pair of pandas that had once been kept there but had already been returned to China, as well as the appearance of a well-known Tokyo hotel in a famous film. Compared to the start of the tour, humidity rose around lunchtime, and one of the guests seemed a little tired. Instead of Shibuya, we visited Akasaka, and after visiting Meiji Shrine we parted ways. Before the tour, the guests had requested information about izakaya as well as shops handling camera lenses and Godzilla goods, so I shared the names and related links of the pubs and shops I had researched by email, and we said goodbye with smiles and a hug at the taxi stand. A notable stop on the tour was Meiji Shrine. Meiji Shrine is a Shinto shrine in Tokyo dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, and it is surrounded by a vast forested area planted with trees donated from across Japan. Despite being located near busy urban districts, the shrine grounds offer a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere, and the large torii gates and tree-lined approach make it one of the most visited spiritual sites in the city.

After the tour, since they had reserved an eel restaurant in Kawagoe for dinner, we parted ways at the Ichibangai warehouse district. As I was able to respond to the guests' wishes as requested, I believe they were satisfied. A notable stop on the tour was Kita-in Temple in Kawagoe. Kita-in is a historic Buddhist temple with deep ties to the Tokugawa shogunate, and it is especially famous for its buildings that were relocated from Edo Castle, making them the only surviving structures from the original castle. The temple grounds also feature the Gohyaku Rakan, a collection of over 500 stone statues of Buddhist disciples, each with a unique facial expression and pose.

We visited a survival knife shop in Ameyoko, but it was closed for the day, so once again we had to give up. The guest gave a wry smile, saying today was "bad luck" (the omikuji fortune). [Fourth stop] Yanesen area From Yanaka Ginza we passed through Hebi-michi ("Snake Alley") to Nezu Shrine. We parted ways at Nezu Station. A notable stop on the tour was Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. Senso-ji is Tokyo's oldest temple, founded in the 7th century, and it is dedicated to Kannon, the Buddhist goddess of mercy. Visitors approach the temple through the iconic Kaminarimon Gate with its massive red lantern, followed by Nakamise Street, a bustling shopping arcade lined with stalls selling traditional snacks and souvenirs.     What Is a Private Chartered-Taxi Day Tour of Kochi City Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Chikurin-ji, Makino Botanical Garden, and Kochi Castle A [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private group visiting from Oceania around Kochi. The guests were all very cheerful, and the atmosphere within the group was wonderful, making it a relaxed and pleasant tour from start to finish. To keep walking distances as short as possible, we made use of a chartered taxi for transportation throughout the day. At Chikurin-ji Temple, we entered through the west gate to reduce the burden of moving around the grounds. At the Makino Botanical Garden and Kochi Castle as well, I guided the group while checking everyone's walking pace and condition. For lunch, since raw fish was not an option for the guests, instead of Kochi's signature dishes such as seared bonito (katsuo tataki) and other raw-fish dishes, everyone chose something they were able to eat. They ordered a fried chicken set meal and a minced chicken rice bowl, and everyone was very satisfied. They also enjoyed beer rather than sake. At the Obiyamachi shopping arcade, we set aside time for shopping, and the guests enjoyed their stay in the central area of Kochi City. This time I also brought a Polaroid camera, took photos of the group during the tour, and handed over the developed prints on the spot. This was very well received, and I was glad to be able to give them something tangible to remember the tour by. Even while accommodating the needs of the guests, we were able to progress through the itinerary at a comfortable pace by making use of the chartered taxi, and we finished the tour without any major trouble. Beyond sightseeing, including meals and shopping, I believe everyone was able to enjoy Kochi at their own pace.

    What Is a Nagasaki Cruise Port Private Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour started later than scheduled, at 9:30 a.m. First, we walked about five minutes from the Matsugae Cruise Terminal to the Tokiwa South parking lot, where we boarded the bus that had been arranged and headed to the Atomic Bomb Museum. Because it was an extremely hot day (37.8°C, the highest ever recorded for Nagasaki City), we normally walk about ten minutes from the Atomic Bomb Museum to Peace Park, passing the hypocenter and other spots, but after consulting with the guests, we moved by bus from the Atomic Bomb Museum parking lot to the Peace Park parking lot (stopping the bus at a point where the hypocenter monument was visible so I could explain it). After that, we went to Peace Park, where I explained the Peace Statue and set up photos, and then headed to Sanno Shrine. At Sanno Shrine, in addition to explaining the one-legged torii gate and the atomic-bombed camphor trees, I also explained the manners for visiting a shrine. Afterward, we went to Wakatakemaru Nagasaki Main Branch, where the guests enjoyed sushi. Of course they savored the delicious sushi, but they also watched with great interest as the ordered sushi was carried along on the conveyor lane. After lunch, we toured Dejima quickly for about 30 minutes (only the Archaeological Museum and the Kapitan's Room), then went to Amu Plaza adjacent to Nagasaki Station for about 50 minutes of shopping, after which we moved by bus to near the Matsugae International Cruise Terminal, ending the tour. This time the guests visited only the atomic-bomb-related sites and Dejima, but the atomic-bombed camphor trees left a strong impression, and they also enjoyed delicious sushi. I believe they returned to the ship feeling pleased.

    • 9:00 Meet. Walk to Togendai. 9:15 Take the ropeway from Togendai to Owakudani. Take the ropeway to Sounzan. 10:31 Take the cable car to Gora. 11:00 Take the bus from Gora to Kowakien. Walk to Chisuji Falls and stroll around. 12:00 Take the bus from Horaien to Moto-Hakone Port at 12:20. After the red torii gate of Hakone Shrine, take the bus to Sekisho-ato at 13:10. Have lunch at Donburi Chaya. Watch a presentation and shop at Maruyama Bussan. After stopping by the entrance of the checkpoint, 15:00 board the pirate ship at Hakonemachi Port. 15:15 Depart from Moto-Hakone and finish. Guests will return on their own from Togendai to the hotel (5-minute walk).

    What Is a Private Hakone Day Tour Like from Lake Ashi? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were very cheerful and easygoing. The natural scenery, so different from where they live in Oceania, was a real highlight. It made perfect sense that they chose Senjogataki Falls as one of their destinations, though to me, having grown up in the countryside, it looked like just a somewhat dense forest. Also, setting out early today paid off, as even a small glimpse of Mount Fuji was visible from Owakudani, for which they were very grateful. At Donburi Chaya, they enjoyed and finished the pork cutlet curry rice bowl they had requested, and at Maruyama Bussan they enjoyed the presentation before purchasing a puzzle box. From the pirate ship, Mount Fuji appeared once again. After confirming that they were comfortable returning on their own from Togendai along the same route as in the morning, I disembarked at Motohakone Port.

    Title: What's a Private Cruise Port Day Tour in Hakodate Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were arriving on a cruise ship, but since two ships were in port that day, I was unsure which one they were on. Because the docking pier differs depending on whether the ship is large or small, I sent an email to confirm the name of the ship. The weather was not good, and when we headed toward Mount Hakodate, it became hidden by clouds, so I showed the guests the live camera footage, and they decided not to go up. They had also been saying they wanted something light to eat, so I decided to take them to Ajisai, the most famous ramen shop in Hakodate, located near the Red Brick Warehouses. They ordered the salt ramen and both enjoyed it so much that they drank up all the soup.
