Title: What Can You See on a Private Half-Day Kanazawa Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report During the itinerary discussion at the meet-up, the guests said they wanted to visit Higashi Chaya District, Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa Castle Park, and the Nagamachi Samurai District all in one afternoon. Considering the 13:00 start time and the location of the Hotel, I suggested first taking a taxi to Higashi Chaya District. (I explained that traveling by bus would take twice as long.) By shortening the travel time, we were able to cover each spot. In the end, since the Nomura Family Residence in the samurai district was overflowing with tour groups, I guided the guests to the Takada Family Residence and the Ashigaru Museum instead, and had the guests visit the Nomura Family Residence on their own, but they were very satisfied.

What Is a Private Tokyo Subway Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shibuya and Tokyo Tower The guests were visitors from North America. At Tameike-Sanno Station, they purchased a combined one-day pass for the Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway, and we traveled by subway. Since one of the guests found going up and down stairs difficult, I paid special attention at places that required using stairs, such as Komagome Station, to make sure we did not become too far apart. Originally I had planned to guide them around Senso-ji Temple, but since they told me they had visited it the previous day, I included Shibuya in the course instead. As they had requested Japanese cuisine for lunch, I looked for a restaurant in Shibuya, which offers many options. The restaurant I took them to this time is said to be affiliated with "Ginza En," and the reasonably priced grilled fish set meal was well received by the guests. I guided them to Tokyo Tower, which was near their hotel, as the final stop. Since one of the guests was already tired, I kept the explanations inside to a minimum, and as they wished to return to the hotel by taxi, we ended the tour at the taxi stand at Tokyo Tower.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.

Title: What's a Private Food-Focused Day Tour in Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. The day before the tour, a message came in asking to change the departure time to 9:30 and saying, "You can reduce the number of temples and shrines; we'd like to visit places related to food." On short notice, I swapped Ryoan-ji for Nishiki Market and rearranged the schedule. On the day of the tour, the rain had stopped before departure, and we proceeded with the itinerary as planned. However, the guests walked quickly and moved through the sights fairly briskly, so we ended up with extra time. That said, after the sightseeing they read the brochures and asked detailed questions, so it seemed they were genuinely interested. After lunch, we set aside time for shopping in the city, which they enjoyed, and we completed the itinerary as scheduled.

Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima and Miyajima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Hiroshima and Miyajima. One of the guests had been to Japan three times before, wore a cap with "Japan" written on it, and seemed quite familiar with the country. Another guest was visiting Japan for the first time, experiencing okonomiyaki, the Peace Park, and Miyajima all for the first time. It seemed to be the wish of one of the guests that the other guest would discover the appeal of Japan and enjoy the trip. Since one of the guests walked slowly and took some time, and another tended to tire easily, I guided them using elevators whenever possible and included breaks along the way. Both guests were very kind and considerate, and they thoughtfully expressed their satisfaction at every opportunity. Both guests had connections to universities and had studied by reading many materials and books in preparation. The Peace Park seemed to be their main goal. At the museum, they looked at the photographs on display and appeared deeply moved. They strongly expressed that the same mistake must never be repeated. They said they did not need to visit Hiroshima Castle and Shukkeien this time because they were tired, so I only gave a brief overview. Since they were tired, I hailed a taxi for them and they returned to their hotel. It was memorable to see them take many photos of the scenery in Miyajima and enjoy answering quizzes. They said that after the trip they would spend about two months creating a special album. They said they would like to continue our correspondence, and that if I ever came to visit their region, they would be delighted to show me around.

Hi! I am Kazuha from Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture. Please call me Kazu chan. I was a teacher for 37 years, and retired last year. After that, I traveled a lot, and met a guide who made my travel much more interesting than other travel. It has become a life-time memory. So I decided to be an interpreter guide to help foreign tourists. I would love to help you to make your travel more interesting and exciting!
I have guided Onomichi, and two World Cultural Heritage sites :Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, and Miyajima. Onomichi is my hometown and the starting point for the Shimanami-kaido to Shikoku Island. It prospered from the 12th century to the 19th century, and was not bombed during the war. So we can still enjoy finding unique Japanese culture while walking. Let’s explore Hiroshima and make your travel special!

What's a Private Walking Tour of Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. At Fushimi Inari, they wanted to go a little further up, so we climbed to a scenic spot just before Yotsutsuji. Many tourists were making their way up as well. On the way down, we descended via Mitsutsuji. Kiyomizu-dera was also crowded with many tourists. The guests did not draw fortune slips or buy souvenirs. Regarding lunch, they wished to skip it. Around Yasaka Pagoda, they wanted to see one more temple and finish the tour a bit early, so I guided them to Kennin-ji, Hanamikoji, and the Kaburenjo Theater, and we parted ways when we reached Shijo Street. The guests took a great many photographs.

I’m Ryoichi Kazuma and my nickname is “Kazz”. I live in Kyotanabe city next to Kyoto city. I want guests to enjoy Kyoto by seeing and experiencing not only from outside but also from inside. I offer various information from daily matters to traditional cultures. Most destinations in Kyoto are located on the eastern side or the western side. As I want to guide guests to as many destinations as possible, I make an efficient itinerary and recommend a taxi use to save time. Additionally, I take pictures at various spots and finally share the link to my storage. By doing so, guests can download their favorite pictures from my storage. Please enjoy Kyoto night and day!

Title: What's a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, and Nijo Castle The meeting point was listed as a hotel, but the guests were actually staying at a different hotel located on the opposite side of the street. Since their hotel was not listed on the booking page, they selected a nearby hotel to make the reservation. I was waiting at the front desk of the listed hotel, which caused some inconvenience for the guests, so I would be grateful if you could add more hotels to the company website's listings. The guests were visitors from North America. Today it was not too hot, and there were not too many school excursion students, so we were able to enjoy the tour in a very relaxed manner. They took many photos at Fushimi Inari Taisha and Kiyomizu-dera and were very pleased. In the Gion district, they wanted to buy matcha, so we went to Gion Tsujiri, but I was very surprised to find that the products were in short supply and the prices had risen sharply. When we had lunch at Nishio Yatsuhashi no Sato, they enjoyed the sweets that were served and purchased several as souvenirs at the shop next door. They had watched the drama Shogun, so they also greatly enjoyed Nijo Castle. I believe they were satisfied that we were able to visit all of their desired places within the allotted time. Afterward, when I recommended Sanjusangendo, they showed interest, so I explained an overview, took them there, and the tour concluded. I believe they were pleased.

Thank you very much for choosing JGA experience, and please allow me to briefly introduce myself. I’m Kaeko Tanigawa, your tour guide, and I have been showing tourists from abroad around mainly in Kyoto, Nara and Osaka areas. Every year I’ve guided my guests through those areas for over 80 times. I always try to do my best to help my guests explore and enjoy our unique and attractive locations, and I’ve been lucky enough to receive so many 5-star reviews from the guests I hosted. I’d like to help make your visit to Japan one of the most wonderful memories in your life. I’m really looking forward to seeing you soon. Thank you very much.

Title: What Is a Private Nara Park Day Tour Like for Animal Lovers? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from North America who were great animal lovers and happily walked throughout the day. One of the guests enjoyed outdoor pursuits in nature and even showed me photos of exciting moments in the wild, including a dramatic scene involving a bear. Deep in Nara Park, the guests repeatedly spotted mother deer with fawns in the forest and pointed them out to me. It was the first time I had seen so many baby deer in a single day. One mistake was with the taxi from the Naramachi area to JR Nara Station. Using a taxi app, I intended to have the car come in front of the "Naramachi Information Center," but I entered "Nara Information Center" by mistake, which caused some confusion. Since both the "Naramachi Information Center" and the "Nara Information Center" are located very close to each other, this is something to watch out for.

Hello! Thank you for choosing Nara! I bet you’ll love Nara. I specialize in Nara because Nara is the unique place where in one day you can cover the history and religions of Japan from the ancient times to the post war era while enjoying rambling in the UNESCO World Heritage park, having communication with lovely deer, surrounded with the beautiful nature.
I grew up in Nara, went university in Kyoto, enjoyed teaching at high schools and a university in Osaka. The three former capitals of Japan are home to me.
After retiring from teaching I began guiding so that I can meet various people from various corners of the world with a variety of cultures and backgrounds. Each time I guide, I find it hugely rewarding because I learn a lot from my guests sharing the history, culture and all that I know about Nara, Kyoto and Osaka.
I used to be a marathon runner, mountain climber and skier though I am not much of them anymore.
What I especially recommend is to stay in Nara a couple of days and enjoy communicating with friendly deer while visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Nara in early morning, temples and shrines at night are well worth experiencing.

My name is Tomoko Nakayama. I am 60-year-old and live near Hiroshima station with my husband. I am a pharmacist.
I like travelling, and I have visited about 20 countries so far.
I was impressed by the vast nature of Canada. The lakes formed by water flowing from glaciers were emerald green and very beautiful.
What I felt most in Europe was the difference between Japan and Europe over the ancient architectural styles. In Japan, wooden structures are the norm, but in Europe, there are many marble buildings, and I realized the difference in lifestyle and culture that comes from the difference in climate and topography.
When I saw the musical Aladdin on Broadway in New York, I was painfully aware of the lack of my English skills.
I think visiting different places has really helped me to broaden my horizons.
Currently, I work as a English volunteer, guiding Peace Park, Shukkeien Garden, Miyajima island, and Hiroshima Castle.
I am studying English hard so that I can more fluently explain the good things about Japan in my own words.
I would be happy if I could be helpful to you on your trip.

What's a Private Kyoto Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Oceania, enjoying their first trip to Japan. They ran a business together and remained active in it. Both were in good health and strong walkers, so we proceeded with the tour as planned. However, since they had apparently already visited Kiyomizu-dera the previous day, we switched to a stroll through Pontocho with the guests' consent, ending the tour 40 minutes early. Both had a strong interest in shopping and food, and we had lively conversations along the way. They kindly treated me to lunch, and we enjoyed a good-value conveyor-belt sushi restaurant. They were very interested in Nishiki Market, and since they would be staying in Kyoto for two more days, they said they would come back again. They mentioned they hoped to sell their business soon so they could enjoy traveling.

I am Naoki Nakatani. I live in Osaka.
I started tour guide from 2023 after 40 years
work experience in Japanese manufacturing company. I am currently teaching Japanese as volunteer staff to foreign residents who live in my community. I have 11 and half years work experience in overseas office and I had interacted with people of foreign countries for a long time enjoying business and friendship with them. My guide experience is still short but I will provide my best service to the guests. I am in a position to prepare the itinerary if guests request and to send any information for the guest to make plan before visit to Japan.

What Is a Private Day Tour in Japan Like for Overseas Guests? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a very friendly and warm group visiting Japan from North America. They were enjoying a special trip, and I was moved by how they were making the most of their time in Japan. We often ended up chatting enthusiastically about technical topics related to a steel manufacturer that I happen to know well, while the conversation stayed relaxed and pleasant throughout. It was a midsummer day with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, but we enjoyed sushi and sake for lunch, and each spot matched exactly what they had researched. They thanked me warmly, saying that my careful guiding had made it a memorable day and a wonderful part of their special trip.

    My name is Kris,
Before becoming a tour guide, I worked for a major steelmaking company as an engineer for many years. During my career, I lived and worked in both Germany and the United States for a total of five years. These experiences helped me understand different cultures and ways of thinking, which now helps me connect easily with guests from around the world.

After retirement, I chose a second career as a tour guide because I truly enjoy meeting people from different countries and sharing Japanese culture, history, and daily life. I have been working as a guide for more than nine years and continue to enjoy every tour.

I currently live in Tokyo, but I was born and raised in Kobe, near Osaka, and my family roots are in Kyoto. As a result, I have extensive knowledge not only of Tokyo but also of Kyoto, Osaka, and many other parts of Japan. I enjoy introducing both famous landmarks and hidden local gems that many visitors might otherwise miss.

I am energetic, friendly, and very sociable. I always try to create tours that are relaxed, flexible, and tailored to my guests’ interests.

Travel is one of my greatest passions, especially visiting hot spring resorts. I have visited more than 80 onsen destinations throughout Japan, giving me a deep appreciation of Japanese culture and regional traditions.

Whether you are visiting Japan for the first time or returning for another adventure, I would be delighted to help you discover the real Japan from a local perspective.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you create wonderful memories in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and beyond.

    See you in Japan!

    Kris
