Title: What Can You See on a 4-Hour Private Kyoto Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visitors from Asia. They had been to Japan several times before and also had connections with a Japanese branch office through their work. Their arrival was delayed by 20 minutes, but since I had received several emails in advance, I was able to wait with peace of mind. After they arrived, they mentioned that they had not yet had breakfast, so I took them to a convenience store at the station where they bought some onigiri and other items. After that, I guided them to Nijo Castle and Kinkaku-ji Temple. Since this tour had a relatively relaxed schedule, they were able to enjoy the onigiri they had bought in the rest area at Nijo Castle. After visiting Kinkaku-ji, the guests had a reservation for a geisha dance show at 15:00 in Kamishichiken, so I took them to the venue and we said our goodbyes. Although it was a short 4-hour tour, I was able to explain, throughout the tour, about Kyoto's history and traditional industries, religion, Buddhist statues, gardens, and the tea ceremony. I believe they were satisfied. This private tour in Kyoto was arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides serving all 47 prefectures.
