    • 15:00 Disperse at Koyasan Station

Title: What's a Private Walking Tour of Koyasan (Mount Koya) Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Since Kongobuji Temple is toured indoors and tends to get more crowded as the day goes on, we visited it first. I emphasized the fusuma sliding-door paintings depicting the life of Kukai, the Banryutei rock garden, and the temple kitchen, as these are unique highlights. Considering the timing for lunch, we moved on to Okunoin and had lunch partway along the approach path. We continued walking the approach path, and after covering about two-thirds of it and seeing the Ichiban-ishi stone marker, we moved to the bus stop in front of Okunoin. At Kongo Sanmaiin, I explained that the building donated by Hojo Masako has survived without ever suffering fire damage, and that it is located in a spot where it does not get struck by lightning, illustrating this through the topography of Kongo Sanmaiin. I also explained the wrathful expression of the temple's principal image, Aizen Myoo. We then visited the Danjo Garan complex by way of a back road, saw the guests off to Koyasan Station, and parted ways.

I grew up in the mountain village. I learned many things from my family, especially my grandmother. I can give you many interesting experiences in the wild nature. We eat wild strawberries or “Sukanpo ” the edible grass, fly ferns or cross a suspension bridge.
I walked all of Kumano Kodo, Koyasan pilgrimage roads and other ancient highways, total length is more than 600km ( 400 miles).
I want you to show the interesting spots beyond the guide book. Kii mountain range has old history as well as beautiful land scapes. I’ll take you the excellent places you can do Facebook bragging.
My experiences for guiding foreigners are, town of Koyasan, pilgrimage road to Koyasan, Kumano Kodo Nakahechi, hot springs, Shingu city and Nachi Katsuura town, Kushimoto area, Shirahama area so on.
I wish to meet you soon!

Title: What's a Rainy-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Asakusa It rained all day, sometimes heavily, which made it a challenging day for guiding. From the hotel, we headed to the Tsukiji Outer Market, where the guests bought packaged seafood rice bowls and enjoyed them on the rooftop. They had requested Ginza, but since the rain was strong, we visited the basement food hall of a department store in Ginza, along with Wako and Mikimoto, before heading to Meiji Shrine. At Meiji Shrine, I gave a general explanation of Shinto and there were many questions and much conversation. On Takeshita Street, there was some interest in an animal cafe, but we did not spend much time there and moved on to Shibuya. After that, I guided them through the Kabukicho area of Shinjuku, and since there was a little time left, I explained the history of Senso-ji Temple before taking them to the hotel, and the tour concluded.

What Is a Full-Day Private Kyoto Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from North America, visiting Japan for the first time. They had arrived in Kyoto the previous day and had already visited Nijo Castle, which was adjacent to their hotel, so today was effectively their first day of sightseeing. It rained heavily throughout the entire day, but I planned the itinerary so that we could cover the major attractions, focusing on requested spots such as Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion) and the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Sagano. With a lunch break at the Kyoto Imperial Palace Gardens, and including views from the car window in areas such as Higashiyama, the guests were able to see seven World Heritage sites. Some of the guests collected goshuin (temple seal stamps) at each temple, and everyone was thoroughly satisfied despite the rain.

What Can You See on a Private Cultural Tour of Osaka? A Licensed Guide's Report on Sumiyoshi Taisha, Shitennoji, and Shinsekai The guests were visitors from Oceania. They were staying at a hotel in the Umeda area, and since they wished to visit places recommended for learning about Japanese culture and history, I suggested Sumiyoshi Taisha, Shitennoji, and Shinsekai. When we walked from the hotel along the deck connecting Grand Green and Grand Front, they were delighted to discover such a route existed. (I often visit this area for work, so I know my way around, which was helpful.) At Sumiyoshi Taisha, I explained the history and Shinto beliefs as we visited each of the main shrine halls. The weather was fine, and a wedding ceremony and a first shrine visit for a newborn happened to be taking place, so the guests watched with great interest. When I explained that it is said to be good luck to collect the "Godairiki" stones at Goshogozen and keep them as a charm, they both searched earnestly for the small stones and seemed to enjoy it as a fun activity. At Shitennoji, they were impressed by the distinctive temple architecture, which differs from that of Kyoto. One of the guests refrained from climbing, but I guided the other to the top floor of the five-story pagoda. They were surprised to see so many memorial tablets neatly arranged on each floor and reported this back to the group. We walked from Shitennoji to Shinsekai and had lunch. Since there were dietary considerations, I took them to a kushikatsu restaurant, where we ordered cheese and vegetable skewers and fried chicken, which they enjoyed. Afterwards, as they planned to return to their hotel, I escorted them to Osaka Station. They kindly left a review right away. It was a four-star rating because there were still many places they wanted to see, which was personally a little disappointing for me (though it was not something within my control as the guide…), but in any case, I was glad they were satisfied with the tour.

“He was easy to talk to, friendly, and knowledgeable and even made sure we successfully navigated the public transit back to our hotel. If we are ever back in Kyoto, we’d love to book a tour with him again! ”

“At every side we got an indepth explanation to any minor detail and every question we asked was answered and explained really well. It felt like a relaxing and wholesome walk through Kyoto even while it was pouring rain. We can absolutely recommend choosing Nabet!”

“Nabet’s English is just perfect, he knows the way around sights, little streets and hidden secrets, he is very authentic…just a perfect tour!”

Here are just a few of the many kind reviews I’ve received from the more than 100 groups I’ve guided through Kyoto and other cities.

I’m deeply thankful for the chance to connect with my guests and contribute to a memorable tour experience!

Some of the guests had visited Japan many times before, while others were visiting Japan for the first time. They were traveling around Japan by car, and had left their vehicle in Osaka before coming to Hiroshima. Despite the unfortunate rain, we followed their wishes and visited the memorial monuments before entering the Peace Memorial Museum. They spent nearly two hours viewing the museum with great attention, which was very moving. On Miyajima, the guests happened to have the chance to interact with a local craftsperson whose work was featured in a Japanese traditional crafts exhibition, and they were delighted by this. I was glad to have been of help.

What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report Last week, [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guided a group visiting Japan from North America, who came to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, then took a day trip to Kyoto by bullet train before returning to Tokyo, with a departure planned for the following day. Today was their final day of sightseeing in Tokyo. I guided the group following an itinerary that had been planned in advance. Although it rained throughout the day, the guests showed great interest in the proper way to worship at Meiji Shrine, wrote their wishes on ema votive tablets, and purchased a goshuin seal. Despite the observation deck of Tokyo Skytree having almost zero visibility due to the poor weather, the guests strongly wished to go up to the observation gallery and enjoyed the view of the ground below from the Glass Floor.

Title: What's a Private One-Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Koishikawa Korakuen, Asakusa, and Meiji Shrine The guests were visitors from North America, both making their first trip to Japan and having arrived the day before. From the following day, they were scheduled to join a group tour of about a week, planning to visit Kyoto and Osaka in addition to Tokyo. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guided the group on a private one-day tour of Koishikawa Korakuen, Asakusa, and Meiji Shrine. Because it was raining, I made sure they walked carefully in places where footing could be slippery, such as Koishikawa Korakuen. They asked a wide range of questions at each location and enthusiastically enjoyed taking photos and shopping, so we gradually fell behind schedule. We had originally planned to visit Shibuya as well, but during lunch I consulted with the guests about whether to keep Shibuya in the itinerary or skip it. Since they preferred not to return to their accommodation too late, they agreed to skip Shibuya. As they wished to make their own way back, I explained how to return to the hotel from Meiji-jingumae Station on the metro, and we parted ways there. After the tour, before I could send a thank-you email, I received a thank-you email from the guests. I believe they enjoyed the tour.

    • 13:30 Do a gold leaf experience at Katani Gold Leaf
    • 14:20 Move from Katani to the Higashi Chaya District, a 10-minute walk away, where the tour ended.
    • From Kanazawa Station to Korinbo, we traveled by route bus, but at the customer's request, after that we traveled entirely on foot in the light rain.

What Is a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Kanazawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests had emailed a request to be picked up at Kanazawa Station at 10:03 (already shared with [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/)). At the guests' request, the tour was done entirely on foot from Korinbo onward. We walked through many of Kanazawa's back streets, and the guests were delighted to see a variety of old buildings, the daily lives of residents, and traditional culture living on in everyday life. The guests seemed deeply impressed by seeing so much: the Nagamachi samurai district and the buildings along the canal, the path from Oyama Shrine to Kanazawa Castle Park, the beauty of Kenrokuen Garden, the liveliness of Omicho Market, and a wide range of Japanese food. Then, during the gold leaf experience at a specialty shop, they felt firsthand the thinness of 0.1 microns. Each of them expressed the impressions they had gained of Kanazawa using gold leaf, and the finished works turned out wonderfully (please enlarge the photos to see them). Everyone was delighted, saying it made a splendid souvenir.

Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Koyasan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Blessed with unseasonal snow and clear skies, it turned out to be a perfect day for guiding. We visited the Mani Treasure Pagoda located right near Daienin Temple. While it may not seem academically significant, it is rich in points of interest, connected to Theravada Buddhism in Southeast Asia, the Japanese military invasion during World War II, and the setting of "The Bridge on the River Kwai." The pitch-black basement is also an interesting experience, like "finding the Buddha in hell." Since visitors walk while firmly gripping the handrail with the right hand, I prepared a plastic glove for the right hand. After walking a few blocks along the approach to the Okunoin inner sanctuary, we stopped at Tenpu Terrace for lunch. We chose a suitable meal for the guest. A variety of options were available here. After the meal, we returned to the approach and continued walking, then took a bus to visit the Danjo Garan and Kongobuji Temple. On the way back to Daienin Temple on foot, we visited Kongo Sanmaiin Temple. This place is surrounded by mountains, has no lightning strikes, and, rare for Koyasan, still preserves in its original form the Tahoto pagoda donated by Hojo Masako. It is designated as a World Heritage Site and is therefore important.

Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Koyasan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour began just 200 meters from the guests' accommodation, so we first visited the Tokugawa Mausoleum. We then crossed over the hill to the Danjo Garan complex. After seeing the lotus pond first, we toured the buildings in order, including the interior of the Konpon Daito pagoda. Next we moved to Kongobuji Temple and toured its interior. We took a bus to the entrance path of Okunoin, then stopped at a restaurant for lunch along the way. After lunch, we returned to the path and walked the entire course, then took a bus to Kongosanmaiin Temple. The Odawara-dori bus stop is the starting point of the Kohechi route of the Kumano Kodo. We viewed the buildings at Kongosanmaiin that date from its founding, as well as the principal image, Aizen Myoo. At the guests' request, we parted ways at Odawara-dori. The guests were active and energetic, and we spent an enjoyable day together.
