    Title: What's a 6-Hour Private Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. They walked quickly and were very cooperative in carrying out the tour, so during the 6-hour tour we were able to visit five locations as planned, including lunch. They said they wanted to visit the popular sightseeing spots farther away that they had long wanted to see today, because tomorrow they plan to enjoy food walks and shopping in areas such as Gion and Nishiki Market. At the end, they thanked me as we parted, and it was a very enjoyable and pleasant tour to guide.

    What Is a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report On the morning of the tour, light rain was falling, so Shukkeien Garden was removed from the itinerary (the footing was judged to be poor). We walked about 12 kilometers on foot, but I was relieved that the guests remained in good health throughout. From the Hondori shopping arcade to the Peace Memorial Park and the Peace Memorial Museum, the guests listened attentively to my explanations everywhere we went, which was truly rewarding as a guide. At the Orizuru Tower, they seemed to greatly enjoy not only the origami experience but also the panel vision and the slide. At Hiroshima Castle, the air conditioning was weak and there was no elevator, so I suspect it was actually quite tiring, but the guests never showed any displeasure and always behaved politely. Thanks to them, I was also able to spend an enjoyable time together.

    What Is a Private Walking Tour of Kanazawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was a visitor from Europe who was enjoying traveling around Japan alone after attending an academic conference in Kyoto. In the morning, a band of heavy rain was reported over Ishikawa Prefecture, so I was concerned about the weather, but we were lucky not to be caught in the rain during the tour. Before joining the tour to Myoryu-ji Temple, I recommended trying shuriken throwing at the ninja weapons museum in the Nishi Chaya district, and the guest enjoyed it. In the Nagamachi area, the guest also enjoyed some sweets at a chocolate shop and a Japanese confectionery shop. Since the guest planned to take the 14:00 bus to Shirakawa-go, the tour ended at Kanazawa Station.

They had already booked the tour course to visit Toyosu Market and came fully prepared. After visiting Toyosu Market, they wished to have sushi as a combined breakfast and lunch, even though they had also eaten sushi two days earlier. They use Japanese kitchen knives at home and wanted to buy knives to take back for family, so at the Tsukiji Outer Market we visited four knife shops to compare options; they planned to go around again to make their purchases, but as time was up we parted ways.     What Is a Private Guided Day Tour of Nara Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. I had told them the meeting point was the east ticket gate of Kintetsu Nara Station, but they were waiting at a different location, so we started about 30 minutes late. When I met them, I was worried about how things would turn out, but they did not seem to mind much, and the rest of the tour proceeded smoothly. On my part, I had intended to convey the meeting point correctly. However, since there are many different situations, I once again realized that I must be thorough in reconfirming such details. As a personal observation, quite a few guests, like these guests, do not do much shopping in Nara. Most people probably visit Tokyo or Kyoto before coming to Nara. As a result, they have often already bought plenty of souvenirs. Also, at lunchtime, when I suggest, "Would you like to go get a hamburger?", a fair number of guests take me up on it. This, like the shopping, seems to be the result of having eaten a range of Japanese food at other destinations, leaving some people a little tired of Japanese cuisine.

    Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo's Nezu and Yanaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe. Since they already had Suica cards, we used the subway and JR lines depending on the route. Both were able to walk quite well, so we kept a steady and comfortable pace throughout the day. They seemed to prefer relatively quiet places, so I adjusted the itinerary at the last minute, removing Sensoji Temple and allowing more time in the Nezu and Yanaka areas. The onigiri cafe we used for lunch can sometimes get crowded and require a wait, but on this day there happened to be open seats, so we were able to take our lunch break right away. I had assumed the Sumo Museum in Ryogoku would be open ahead of a tournament, but it turned out to be closed that day. I worried that ending the tour there had been a mistake, but by coincidence a sumo association gathering and the health check-ups for juryo-ranked wrestlers were being held at the Kokugikan. As a result, the guests were able to film videos of real sumo wrestlers, which turned into a delightful surprise. Finally, I saw them off at Akihabara, where we parted ways.

    What Historical Sites Can You See on a Private Tokyo Day Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report This tour was originally scheduled for early September, but as a typhoon was approaching and the guests were concerned about rough weather, they requested a date change. As my schedule happened to be open the following day, I accepted the tour with a one-day postponement. The guests were a group visiting Japan. They appeared to be using a private lodging, and since they wished to meet at Tokyo Station, I set the Marunouchi North Exit as the meeting point. As they were interested in historical spots, I mainly guided them around Nezu Shrine, the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, and Senso-ji Temple. Since it was still too early to visit the East Gardens at 08:30, I took them to Nezu Shrine first. Matching the guests' pace, the time spent at each spot ran somewhat longer than usual. As they wished to visit Tokyo Skytree after the tour, I guided them to Oshiage Station, explained how to get back to Tokyo Station, and then we parted ways.

A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America who were very knowledgeable about Japan and asked a variety of questions throughout the tour. They seemed particularly interested in Japanese history, asking many questions about emperors and shoguns, Buddhism and Shinto, and the Meiji Restoration. The temperature was still quite high, but compared to one or two weeks earlier the humidity was lower and there was a bit of a breeze, so we were able to get around without worrying too much about heatstroke. I hope it continues to cool down like this… As for the tour itself, the guests seemed satisfied and commented that it was very enjoyable and also a great learning experience.

    Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. It was their first visit to Japan. They had arrived the day before and planned to stay in Tokyo for a few days before boarding a cruise. They intended to travel around Japan by cruise ship and then continue to another destination in Asia. Originally the meeting point was set at one hotel, but while discussing the itinerary, it turned out that their accommodation was at a different hotel, so the meeting point was changed accordingly. On this private one-day tour, [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide showed the guests Asakusa, Yanaka, Nezu Shrine, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya. Since the forecast called for an extremely hot day, we proceeded carefully to avoid heat exhaustion. Fortunately, the temperature did not rise as much as forecast, and the guests were able to complete the itinerary without any problems. They looked around with great interest while listening to the explanations. After visiting Meiji Shrine, we went into Forest Terrace Meiji Jingu, but the guests said they did not have much appetite due to the heat. They did not have lunch and instead took a break with drinks at the cafe. After the tour, since the guests were heading to Ginza near their accommodation, we went to Shibuya Station on the Ginza Line, where I explained how to get to Ginza, and we parted ways.

    • Completed in 1611, the castle was occupied by generations of the Tsugaru clan. The castle keep was rebuilt in 1810 and has now been turned into a small historical museum.
    • It dominates the 121-acre / 49ha public park, which is very famous throughout Japan for the flowering of its 2,600 cherry trees, from the end of April to mid-May.
    • The botanical gardens in the park are worth strolling through to see the many styles of garden in different seasons.

    • Let's experience Hirosaki's unique summer time festival within the Neputa-Mura Village!
    • Here you will see:
    • Neputa Float: Containing some of the highly decorative festival floats with illuminated screens or gigantic fans used during the Famous Hirosaki festival, the Neputa Matsuri Festival.
    • Did you know that the word neputa derives from nepute or “drowsiness” in the
    • local dialect? This allegedly refers to the farmer’s custom of placing giant lanterns along the riverbank in order to keep them awake when they were returning home from a hard days work.
    • The museum also offers free live performances featuring:
    • ● Shamisen: Japanese traditional 3 stringed musical guitar.
    • ● Neputa Festival Music where you can try hitting the gigantic drums

    Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Hirosaki, Aomori Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided the guests, who came from North America, around Hirosaki (Saishoin Temple, Hirosaki Apple Park, Zenringai, Hirosaki Castle, and Tsugaru-han Neputa Village). This visit was part of a journey from Tokyo to Sendai, Aomori, Hakodate, Noboribetsu, and Sapporo. One of the guests was very fond of sports, had experience playing American football, and enjoyed watching the NHK BS grand sumo broadcasts. They knew many of the sumo winning techniques. The domain of the Tsugaru clan was 100,000 koku, while the Kumamoto domain was 500,000 koku. What is a "koku"? One koku is equivalent to about 150 kilograms of rice, the amount an adult eats in one year! The last lord of the Tsugaru clan, "Tsuguakira," was the son of the lord of the Kumamoto domain! What a remarkable connection! For lunch, we had a set meal of Aomori's soul food, "scallop grilled with miso" and "kenojiru," which I was taught is called "comfort food" in English. The guests were moved, saying it was the first time in their life to be surrounded by so many apples, and they were impressed by the wonderful taste of the apple pie. *For reference: Hirosaki Apple Park has 2,300 apple trees of 80 varieties planted there.
