Title: What Is a Private Day Tour of Shizuoka and Mount Fuji Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests visiting from North America met with me in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Before heading to Sunpu Park, we decided to look at the area around Shizuoka City from a high vantage point, so we went up to the 21st-floor observation deck of the prefectural government annex. We could even see the statue of Ieyasu in Sunpu Park, which gave a great overall view of the park. Afterwards, at the tea house in the Momijiyama Garden inside the park, we enjoyed tea and had many refills of specially provided water, which helped ease the heat and humidity. After leaving the Japanese garden, which represents all of nature such as the sea, mountains, and waterfalls, we took a break at an ice cream shop and then headed to the Mount Fuji World Heritage Centre. Mount Fuji, which we had almost given up on seeing, appeared clearly outside the window just as we were arriving at Fujinomiya Station, and it was truly moving. Thanks to this, our steps were light inside the Mount Fuji World Heritage Centre and we took many photos. The long trip was truly worthwhile. Although the heat was intense along the way, the train was cool and comfortable as we returned to Shizuoka Station, where I guided the guests to the restaurant district and we said our goodbyes.

I have been teaching high school students for 40 years as an English teacher and guiding for 10years including a volunteer guide .Now I am a national government licensed guide. I have been dreaming to introduce Japanese culture including tasty Japanese food and history , our society and also some problems in it. It is a great moment of joy and excitement to be with you from all over the world. I love traveling around Japan and abroad myself. I visited East Germany ,too that does not exist any more. I am looking forward to guiding you in and around Shizuoka!

What Is a Rainy-Day Private Tour in Japan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. It rained all day, with the damp, muggy conditions typical of Japan's rainy season, and at times there was heavy rain, making for rather unpleasant weather. Even so, since they were scheduled to return home the day after next, they seemed determined to experience as much of Japanese culture as possible, especially shrines and temples, and they attentively observed the Buddhist statues. They appeared to grow tired from walking, and once all the planned activities were finished, they said they wished to return to the Hotel, so we parted ways a little earlier than scheduled.

    Tour Itinerary

    • 0900 Meet at Hiroshima Ujina Port
    • 0910 Taxi to Peace Memorial Park
    • 0940-1040 Tour of the Peace Memorial Museum
    • 1040-1140 Tour of the various memorials and monuments within the Peace Memorial Park
    • 1140-1200 Tour of the Atomic Bomb Dome and Ground Zero
    • 1200-1300 Lunch, they enjoyed Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki
    • 1330 The father returned to the cruise ship, and the rest of the family said they would go shopping on their own, so the service was concluded.

Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima Peace Memorial Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were picked up in fairly heavy rain, and while I was unsure how to begin the tour, I suggested taking a taxi, which they kindly agreed to. We entered the Peace Memorial Museum, and the guests were rather quiet and a little tense. They appear to have left a comment at the exit. In the Peace Memorial Park, they visited the various memorial monuments. Seeing the Children's Peace Monument and the many strings of paper cranes seemed to bring home to them the tragic events that had taken place. They were also very surprised to learn that some people survived even at very close range. For lunch, we went to an okonomiyaki restaurant. It seemed to be their first time trying it, and although there were many specific requests, all of them were accommodated, and the guests were very pleased. After lunch, the group planned to go shopping on their own and told me it was fine to finish there, so I concluded my duties.

Title: What's a Private Scenic Day Tour of Matsushima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. Their reservation had been made the previous October, and after all the correspondence since then, I was very glad to finally meet them. It was their second visit to Japan; on their first trip they had traveled the Golden Route, including Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nikko. Since they felt they had already seen enough temples and shrines, this time we skipped Zuiganji Temple and made it a tour focused on enjoying the scenery. Looking at the cave clusters and the memorial monuments, they recalled Angkor Wat in Cambodia and Mount Koya, which they had visited before, and seeing the animal carvings at Godaido Hall reminded them of Nikko, so the tour overlapped with their happy travel memories. They asked many questions, actively inquiring "What is this?" and "How old is it?" about the things they saw. They took many photos, and I was relieved that they seemed to enjoy the meals and the wagashi sweets served with tea. Regarding the guests' reactions: – For lunch, local specialties would have been nice, but since I had heard that one of the guests was not fond of raw fish, I suggested a restaurant specializing in oyster dishes, which was welcomed. Both said it was very delicious and were pleased. – Also, when the topic of the twelve zodiac signs came up at Godaido Hall, I brought out a visual aid chart of the zodiac and pointed to mine, saying "This is my zodiac sign." The guests then found their own zodiac signs based on their birth years and found it very amusing. Other impressions: – It was very helpful that the guests brought a folding umbrella and a bottle of water. – The morning was sunny and hot, but around noon it began to rain and the sun disappeared. In addition, with the air conditioning inside the sightseeing boat and their sweat cooling down, the guests mentioned feeling cold in the afternoon. Even if it is hot before departure, I thought it would be good to prepare for temperature changes, such as putting a light cardigan in one's bag. The visual aid was very useful this time. As mentioned above, the zodiac chart got everyone excited, and since we did not enter Zuiganji Temple, I was able to use the diagram to explain it. It was a great help, thank you very much. I look forward to new materials being published in the future.

Hello. I’m Mikiko Shiga, a licensed guide interpreter.
I live in Iwaki, Fukushima, about 200km northeast from Tokyo.
I was born in Sendai, the capital of Tohoku or the North East area of Japan.
I ‘ve belonged to a volunteer guide group, I experienced walking tours in Asakusa, and other places in Tokyo.

Meanwhile, the area I was born and live in is relatively uncrowded.
Tohoku is blessed with beautiful nature, delicious food and fresh air.
It is recommendable for tourists who want to avoid busy places.
It would be wonderful if I could share the attractions in Tohoku or Ibaraki areas with my guests.

What Is a Private Kyoto Tour Like with Kinkaku-ji and Nijo Castle? A Licensed Guide's Report The group required extra time for moving around the city. On the subway, since it was daytime and elevators were available, they were able to travel without any issues. For the bus from Kitaoji Terminal to Kinkaku-ji, however, I recommended taking a taxi instead, which allowed us to finish visiting Kinkaku-ji within the tour time. (At Nijo Castle, we visited only the Ninomaru Palace and the Ninomaru Garden, and at Kinkaku-ji, since the standard course is not accessible, we turned back at the Rikushu Pine.) I believe the group thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

What Is an 8-Hour Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Ueno, Asakusa, and Meiji Shrine I guided the guests from Europe on a private tour. They were quiet and reserved, and mentioned that their flight had been delayed the previous day, arriving late at night and leaving them tired. Despite the very heavy and uncomfortable humidity, they completed the full 8-hour tour as scheduled without any complaints. As one of the guests had recently graduated from university and was going to become a designer of stage costumes, they looked very intently at the kimono and other items at the Tokyo National Museum. I handled the JR ticketing at the Asakusa exit of Ueno Station. For lunch, they wanted to try something new in Asakusa, so we went to a monjayaki restaurant, where we shared two okonomiyaki among three of us, which filled them up. They seemed to enjoy it reasonably well. At Sensoji Temple, both of them drew "dai-kichi" (great blessing) fortunes, and when I told them this was quite rare, they were delighted. Since they said they liked Kitty, we stopped by a Sanrio character goods shop. I had hoped that visiting Meiji Shrine in the evening would offer some relief from the heat, but the humidity was severe and it was quite difficult. As one of the guests was going to get a driver's license, they purchased a traffic safety charm. When we tried to activate the Hakone Free Pass at the Odakyu boarding area at the south exit of Shinjuku Station, we found that the location was actually in the basement of the west exit, and moreover it had already closed at 4 o'clock. When I went to check the location, I could not find it right away, so I asked a man wearing a helmet who was directing people, and managed to reach it. After that, the guests said they wanted to go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building observation deck, so I guided them to the entrance of the underground passage, and the tour ended there. They lived near a city in Europe, and the accent of one of the guests was strong, making it difficult to catch some words. When I could not understand "aipou" and asked again, it turned out to be "April." Even so, both of them were modest and dependable, and I was able to proceed smoothly.

Title: What Is a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Odaiba, Toyosu, and Asakusa The guests were a cheerful group visiting from North America, and it was a pleasant tour throughout. We met as planned at their accommodation and started from there. Our first designated destination was Odaiba. On the Yurikamome line, the guests enjoyed the scenery from the very front car. After a walk around Odaiba along with a story about Perry, we headed to Toyosu Market. At the Tsukiji Outer Market, the guests enjoyed sampling and purchasing sesame, menchi-katsu, and snack kombu. As some of the guests were fond of matcha, they were very satisfied with a break at the Itoen tea stand and Kaminari Issa near Sensoji Temple. This private full-day tour was arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides serving all 47 prefectures.

What Is a Private Chartered-Car Kyoto Tour to Arashiyama and Kiyomizu-dera Like? A Licensed Guide's Report On a family tour from North America, we headed toward Arashiyama by chartered car. On the way there was such heavy rain that going outside seemed impossible, and I wondered what we should do, but afterward the rain never became strong enough to prevent us from walking, so we were able to carry out the planned tour itinerary as scheduled. At the final stop, Kiyomizu-dera, the chartered car took us as far up Chawanzaka slope as possible, but since the stairs and slopes of Kiyomizu-dera were difficult for one of the guests, that person waited at the gate while the others did the sightseeing. The guests thoroughly enjoyed the tour itself. The tour ended at Sannenzaka near Kiyomizu-dera.

What Is a Private Hakone Day Tour Like from Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private day tour of Hakone for a group visiting Japan from North America, following their earlier stay in Tokyo. The guests were traveling in Japan to celebrate a special occasion, and had already enjoyed their time in Tokyo before coming to Hakone, where they were staying at a high-end ryokan and enjoying the open-air baths. At the first stop, Gora Park, the guests were delighted by the rose garden and hydrangeas that were in full season, and they purchased many glass crafts as souvenirs at the craft shop inside the park. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy, so we could not fully enjoy the views at Owakudani, but the guests seemed to appreciate the ropeway ride along the way. At the final stop, Hakone Shrine, the guests purchased many good-luck charms and mentioned that they would keep them close at all times. I had originally planned to take the guests to the Hakone Open-Air Museum at the end, but because it was raining and the guests wished to return to the ryokan early to enjoy the open-air baths, we headed back to the Hotel without visiting it, ending the tour.

    Hello and welcome to Tokyo!

I have been working for business with American companies for many years. I have many experiences guiding customers from around the world in Japan and taking Japanese customers to the USA and Europe.

I now have a national license as a guiding interpreter, and I want to introduce the unique gigantic city of Tokyo and the traditional Japanese culture, which is not shown in the guidebooks, to people worldwide who are interested in it. In addition, I want to introduce various Japanese foods you can enjoy only in Japan.
Unique experiences such as the Sumo Training Viewing and Tea Ceremony are optionally available.
Depending on your preference and itinerary, I can guide you in Tokyo, Kamakura, and Hakone so that you can enjoy your time in Japan.

Title: What Does a Private One-Day Tour of Tokyo's Main Sights Look Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led this private one-day tour covering Tokyo's main highlights. The night before, they had arrived at Haneda Airport and taken a taxi to their hotel. This trip was a two-week visit to Japan, staying in Tokyo before continuing on to Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara, then returning to Tokyo before flying home. The following day, they were scheduled to take a one-day trip to Mount Fuji and Hakone. They expressed a wish: "Today we would like to see only the main spots in Tokyo." The tour took place under cloudy skies but in hot and humid weather. From Tokyo Station, we first headed to Komagome and Rikugien Garden. We moved to Komagome and Rikugien Garden, as the guests had said, "We would really like to see a Japanese garden." They made comments and asked questions such as, "What a beautiful garden. I'd love to create one in my own yard," "Do pine trees naturally grow with those curves?" and "Are these the same kind of trees used for bonsai?" Next, we went to Asakusa. As usual, it was crowded with large numbers of people, including many foreign tour groups and school excursion students. We started from in front of Kaminarimon Gate. I explained "Sensoji Temple and the history from Edo to Tokyo," "what the five-story pagoda is for," "what Buddhism is," and "the difference between Buddhism and Shinto." We took commemorative photos in front of Kaminarimon and strolled leisurely through Nakamise shopping street. There were questions such as, "What are Japan's main religions?" "How many Buddhists are there in Japan?" and "Besides Buddhism, what other religions do people follow?" For lunch, we moved to Hibiya. (I had received advance notice that everyone in the group avoided meat and fish entirely.) I took them to a restaurant in Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, but they didn't seem quite satisfied with it, so in the end some of the guests chose Vietnamese food while another chose spaghetti. We moved to Harajuku and visited Meiji Shrine. I explained "about Shinto," "about torii gates," "about Emperor Meiji," and "why wine barrels are displayed there." There were questions such as, "What kind of teachings does Shinto have?" "When did Shinto originate?" "How many shrines are there in Japan?" and "What is the difference between Buddhism and Shinto?" At the request of the group, we also strolled along Takeshita Street. They seemed to enjoy a cat café. We then went to Shibuya. We walked across the scramble crossing and took photos in front of the Hachiko statue. We also visited Tokyu Food Show. There were comments and questions such as, "I felt Tokyo is extremely safe," "Why are there no trash cans on the streets?" and "The Tokyo subway system is very well made." I saw them off at Tokyo Station, where we parted ways.

    Guiding career:
Guide work started in July 2022. A guide focused on FIT compliance.
    FY2022 results: 17 cases, FY2023 results: 97
Destinations: Various places in Tokyo, Hakone, Kamakura and Nikko
As a recent group travel record, in October 2023, we have a track record of guiding a group of 33 people from Singapore to Narita Airport transfer plus sightseeing in Tokyo.
    Self-introduction:
In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
I am a certified CPA in the United States.
In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.
