They also planned to join a tour of knife-making in Sakai City, Osaka, where they intended to buy a high-quality Japanese knife. When they found an eel restaurant in Toyosu, they immediately requested unaju (grilled eel over rice) for breakfast, and they found it delicious. Although we spent a longer time in Toyosu and had less time at the Tsukiji Outer Market as a result, the guests thoroughly enjoyed this morning food tour of Tokyo.

    Title: What's a Private Full-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Meiji Shrine, and Shopping The guests were visitors from North America who had already spent about ten days in Kyoto, Osaka, and Hakone, with two more days remaining in Tokyo. They followed the itinerary described above as they had hoped. Since they mentioned they had not yet received a systematic explanation of Japanese history, I explained it using a timeline before departing from the hotel. By the time we arrived in Asakusa, the temperature had risen, and in summer the covered Shin-Nakamise arcade is a welcome relief. The guests purchased souvenirs there. They seemed to enjoy Meiji Shrine even more than Asakusa, repeatedly saying "pretty." I took a photo of them at the Meoto Kusu (the couple camphor trees). One of the guests said they wanted a pair of Onitsuka Tiger shoes as a treat for themselves, so we made an impromptu visit to the flagship store, where they were able to buy a pair and were very pleased. I also gave advice on how to spend their remaining two days, introducing teamLab Planets, Shibuya Sky, the Pokémon Center at Shibuya PARCO (for souvenirs), and the water bus from Asakusa to Hamarikyu, which is next to the Hotel.

    What Is a Private Day Trip from Kobe Port to Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report We met at Kobe Port Terminal at 8:10 and headed to Kinkaku-ji in heavy rain. Despite the rain, the guests all took photos at Kinkaku-ji, and since I had given most of the explanations in the car, I only described the key points on site. At Nijo Castle, there were questions about ninjas and Tokugawa Yoshinobu. There was also a question about what a shogun is, and we enjoyed viewing the Japanese garden. For lunch, I took them to a nearby Kura Sushi and explained how to place an order. They had a lot of fun with the Bikkura-pon game and commented that the food was delicious. In the heavy rain, I guided them to Fushimi Inari Taisha and taught them the Japanese way of praying. Everyone prayed accordingly and was delighted by the Senbon Torii. They also prayed at the "Neagari no Matsu" pine and happily passed under its roots. Thanks to the experienced driver, even the traffic congestion caused by an accident was kept within the schedule, and the guests were very pleased.

    What Is a Private Kyoto Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizu-dera The guests joined the tour after viewing the Yamahoko floats of the pre-festival for the Gion Matsuri in the morning. To avoid getting caught in the crowds of spectators, we moved quickly to Sanjo Keihan Station and headed to Fushimi Inari. Although it was raining very heavily, the guests wished to follow the planned tour course, and they seemed to be thoroughly enjoying Japan. We then headed toward Kiyomizu-dera, but the rain did not stop. It finally cleared up just as the tour ended at the entrance to Shijo Street near Pontocho. Even though we got soaked, the guests appeared to have enjoyed themselves fully, which put me at ease as well.

    Can You Do a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Covering Asakusa, Tsukiji, and the Imperial Palace? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from Europe. It was everyone's first visit to Japan. This trip to Japan was only a two-day stay in Tokyo during the course of a longer holiday. They had arrived at Haneda the previous evening on a direct flight and taken a taxi to their hotel, and they were scheduled to depart late at night for their next destination. It was the group's first overseas trip since retirement. The tour took place in hot and humid conditions, and we were caught in the rain many times along the way. From Tochomae Station near the metropolitan government building, we first headed to Asakusa. Despite the bad weather, the area was crowded with large numbers of people. We started from the front of the Kaminarimon Gate. I explained about "Sensoji Temple and the history from Edo to Tokyo," "what the five-story pagoda is for," "what Buddhism is," and "the difference between Buddhism and Shinto." We took commemorative photos in front of Kaminarimon and strolled slowly along the Nakamise shopping street. There were questions such as "What are the major religions in Japan?", "How many Buddhists are there in Japan?", and "Besides Buddhism, what other religions do people follow?" We went to the Tsukiji Outer Market. I explained about "the history of Tokyo's fish market since the Edo period" and "the difference between Toyosu Market and the Tsukiji Outer Market." Everyone was a big fan of sushi. There were also questions and comments such as "Do all Tokyo residents come here to buy fish?" and "It's crowded, but there seem to be a lot of tourists." We moved on to the Imperial Palace and walked around the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. I explained about "the history of Edo," "the history from the Edo period to the Meiji era," "the Meiji Restoration," "why Edo Castle became the Imperial Palace," and "why the capital moved from Kyoto to Tokyo." There were questions such as "What happened to the shoguns and samurai after the Meiji Restoration?" and "Does the current Emperor of Japan hold any political power?" Since everyone wanted to have sushi for lunch, we went to a sushi restaurant in the Hibiya area. There were comments such as "Extremely fresh, and one-fifth the price of sushi restaurants in Europe." We moved on to Shinjuku Gyoen (there was a request to see a Japanese garden). Within the Japanese garden, they took photos in many places. There was a comment that "In Japan, there is so much greenery that you can feel at ease." There were also questions and comments such as "Tokyo feels clean and extremely safe," "Why aren't there any trash cans on the streets?", "I think Tokyo's subway system is very well made," and "The public restrooms are wonderful." I saw the guests off at Tochomae Station, and we parted ways.

    In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
    Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
    I am a certified CPA in the United States.
    In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
    Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
    My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.

    What Is a Full-Day Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report It was a day with no rain, though at times strong sunshine beat down. We departed on time, but the guest had no cash at all, so we had some trouble buying the 24-hour subway pass. I lent 1,000 yen in cash and we moved on. At the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, there were many questions about history. The guest also asked about feelings toward the Imperial Family. We used the ATM at the convenience store in the Palace Building, bought some snacks, and ate them at the station. At Meiji Shrine, there were many questions about religion. In Asakusa as well, there were many questions about religion and wartime damage. We went considerably over time, and the tour ended after seeing the guest off at the Hotel.

    Can You Do a Private Nara Day Trip from Osaka on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from Asia. Unfortunately, it rained all day, so I guided them while trying to keep the walking distance under umbrellas as short as possible. In the heavy rain at Todai-ji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine, the guests were able to interact with the deer, but we did not get as far as buying deer crackers to play with them. Most of the deer were sitting under the trees in the rain. One good point was that there were very few tourists. In particular, it was the first time I did not see a single school excursion group. There was also no line at the pillar with the hole in Todai-ji's Great Buddha Hall, so the two younger members of the group could pass through the hole at a leisurely pace. Some of the guests enjoyed sweets, so after lunch they had shaved ice and soft serve ice cream together in the shopping street. They also enjoyed watching the mochi-pounding performance at Nakatani-do. Partly because of the younger members of the group, our visit to the "Nigiwai no Ie" ended more quickly than usual, while at the "Karakuri Omocha-kan" (mechanical toy museum), they enjoyed spinning tops for a long time. Despite it being their first time, one of the younger members of the group was very skilled at spinning tops. The photo was taken at the "Karakuri Omocha-kan." As mentioned above, we were able to return to Osaka earlier than planned, so the tour ended quite early. During the tour in the heavy rain, the guests wanted to return to their hotel early.

    What Is a Private Kobe Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nunobiki Herb Garden, Kitano, and Nankinmachi The guests were a group visiting from North America. Although heavy rain hit us during the day (a heavy rain warning was issued in the early afternoon), we were able to move smoothly. Since the group gathered earlier than the original meeting time, we started 15 minutes ahead of schedule. At Nunobiki Herb Garden, the bad weather meant there was no view at all from either the ropeway or the observation deck, but on the way back the sky cleared a little, and from inside the ropeway the group was able to see the passenger ship they had arrived on, which they seemed very pleased about. Afterwards, we visited the Kitano Ijinkan foreign residences district, but the "Moegi House," the former U.S. consul's residence, was unfortunately closed until today, so we could only see it from the outside. On short notice, I guided them to the nearby "Kitano Tenmangu Shrine." For lunch, at a restaurant I had recommended and which the guests had reserved in advance, "Mouriya," they enjoyed authentic Kobe beef and were very satisfied. Next, at the guests' request, we visited a "Sanrio shop," where they did a lot of shopping. Afterwards, at "Kobe Harborland," based on information from the driver, there was also a "Sanrio shop," so we visited and they shopped again. There is also an official standing statue of "Elvis Presley," said to be one of only three in the world, and one of the guests, being a big fan, was delighted. Finally, at "Nankinmachi," the guests sampled "butaman" (steamed pork buns) at "Roushouki," said to be the shop where butaman originated. They complimented us on what a fun tour it had been, and we parted ways. One of the guests told me it was the most fun tour they had ever had, which I was grateful for. This time as well, the driver's attitude and driving were very courteous, and they were very knowledgeable about the information for each spot. Special note: I felt very sorry to the guests that the "Moegi House" in the Kitano Ijinkan district was closed today, which I consider to be due to my insufficient prior research. However, even searching the website again, I could not find that information. Upon investigation, it was posted on the website of the "Tourism Bureau," an affiliated organization of Kobe City. When I asked the person in charge why such related information was not posted on the website of the "Ijinkan district" itself, they said, "We are not the organization that directly manages the Ijinkan, but indeed our response was insufficient, so we would like to consider this going forward." I got a slight impression of bureaucratic red tape.

    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
    and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
    foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
    Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

    Title: What Is a Private Kobe Tour from the Cruise Port Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were visitors from North America on their first trip to Japan. Originally the plan was for a group of guests, but some of them did not join, as one was resting in the room and another had fallen ill in Osaka and was receiving treatment. Although it rained today, we met at the Kobe Port Terminal and then went to Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens. When we arrived at the summit station of the herb gardens by ropeway, it was pouring rain, so we spent time enjoying the "Forest of Healing (Light)" event at the "Forest Hall," which was not affected by the rain, and searching for favorite scents at the "Fragrance Museum." When the rain stopped, we headed to the Glass House, and along the way the guests took photos and videos of the various herbs. Because one of the guests had difficulty walking, moving around took some time, but the guests enjoyed shopping and viewing the various plants, and were pleased to have visited the herb gardens. After the herb gardens, we had planned to visit Ikuta Shrine, but the guests said they would like to skip sightseeing at Ikuta Shrine and eat ramen instead. So we ate ramen at a restaurant on Ikuta Road, then called a taxi to return to the Kobe Port Terminal, ending the tour. The guests were very pleased with the tour.

    What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like in the Rain? A Licensed Guide's Report on Arashiyama, Ryoanji, and Kinkakuji The guests were a group visiting from North America. The tour took place in the rain. It was everyone's first visit to Japan. I took them to Arashiyama (Togetsukyo Bridge, the garden of Tenryuji Temple, Nonomiya Shrine, and the bamboo grove), Ryoanji Temple, and Kinkakuji Temple. At Kinkakuji in particular, we experienced a downpour unlike anything I had encountered on a tour before, and everyone got soaked, to the point where partway through there was a request to wrap things up early. Some of the guests commented that they liked Ryoanji best, one preferred Kinkakuji, and another said Kinkakuji if the weather had been good. Everyone understood English, and the reason they had requested an English-speaking guide was simply that an English-speaking guide was easier to find than a Spanish-speaking one.
