Tour Itinerary
- 9:15 Meet up @ Shin-Kobe Station (arriving by Nozomi)
- 9:40-10:30 Nunobiki Herb Garden sightseeing
- 10:50-10:52 Shin-Kobe → Sannomiya, 210 yen, subway
- 11:05-11:26 Sannomiya → Maiko, 320 yen, JR
- 11:30-12:10 Maiko Park Maritime Promenade & Maiko Park sightseeing
- 12:20-12:40 Maiko → Motomachi, 320 yen, JR
- 13:00 Disband @ Kobe Beef Eikichi (support until seated)
What Is a Private Day Tour of Kobe Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Herb Garden, Maiko Park, and Chinatown
The guests were visitors from North America. At the herb garden, they repeatedly exclaimed how wonderful the views of Kobe and Nunobiki Falls were from the ropeway. We also strolled through the herb garden, enjoying the variety of plants and fragrances. After that, we moved to Maiko Park. They listened with great interest to stories about the creation of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. They were very fond of Kobe, where both the mountains and the sea are at a comfortable distance from each other. Finally, we went to Nankinmachi and strolled through Chinatown, and the tour ended when I saw them off at the restaurant they had reserved.

Andy(Atsushi) was great and communicated with us beforehand about our itinerary. He was flexible with changes we requested. Andy was very informative during the tour. He also was willing to take our family’s pictures. We were able to stop and check out shops as we pleased along the way. He also accommodated lunch requests(as our daughter has food allergies).
One thing I wish we realized was that there is quite a bit of walking. We were fine but for people who are perhaps older or with young children you may want to consider taking a cab between different sites.

Great tour!
Andy Murao was an amazing and wonderful tour guide. He reached out to us with some ideas for our private tour. He worked with us as we made the tour perfectly suited to our needs. He met us on time. He navigated the crowds and the sites perfectly. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. He even put together a nice photo collection of photos he emailed us after. Highly recommend.
