What's a Private Tokyo Sightseeing Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Japanese Gardens, Fukagawa Fudo-do, and Tsukiji The guests were visitors from Europe. They were planning to board a cruise ship afterward. Since they would sightsee in Tokyo again in the future, they said the itinerary could be left to the guide's choice this time. I guided them to a Japanese garden and the goma fire prayer ritual at Fukagawa Fudo-do. They seemed to enjoy Tsukiji, but did not do any particular shopping, and we spent a relaxed time at a coffee shop chatting about topics such as John Lennon. Fukagawa Fudo-do appeared to leave a deep impression on them. We took the Tozai Line to Otemachi, took commemorative photos in front of Tokyo Station, and I explained the restaurants in the Marunouchi Building and the Imperial Palace, then told them the route back before we parted ways. Afterward, I received a report that they had returned safely to their accommodation, which was a relief.

A Private Group Tour of Tokyo with Two Licensed Interpreter Guides: A Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) arranged a private group tour of Tokyo led by two licensed interpreter guides for a group visiting from the Caribbean. Although the meeting point had been set in front of the hotel front desk, some of the guests were waiting outside the hotel and in the lobby away from the front desk, so it took some time to meet everyone. Most of the guests were visiting Japan for the first time, so we began the tour by purchasing SUICA cards for everyone at Hamamatsucho Station. At Shinjuku Gyoen, my group toured from the large greenhouse to the Gyoen Museum and the Japanese garden, and they were able to enjoy the wonderful scenery of this splendid park.

What's a Private Tokyo Tour of Toyosu Fish Market and Tsukiji Outer Market Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided the guests from North America around Toyosu Market and the Tsukiji Outer Market. They had already been traveling in Japan for some time and had enjoyed plenty of local Japanese food at Nishiki Market in Kyoto and Dotonbori in Osaka. They said that sushi and sashimi were their favorites, so after enjoying the tuna auction viewing at Toyosu Market, they savored fresh cuts of tuna at the Tsukiji Outer Market. They enjoyed the differences between otoro, chutoro, and akami, and the freshness was something they had never experienced before — they told me it was the best thing they had eaten in Japan.

Hi friends, I’m Seky, a tour guide in Tokyo, but I cover all over Japan, namely from Hokkaido to Kyushu. I have lived overseas for more than 15 years in total, such as US, UK, Singapore and others, and enjoyed local culture there. Back in Japan, I wish I could help travelers to Japan enjoy Japanese culture, and this is why I became a tour guide.
In Tokyo, my favorite places are Shibuya, Harajuku, Asakusa, and if you are interested in fish market, I’d love to take you to the world largest Tuna auction and/or if you are sports lovers, I’ll go to ball games (baseball) too.

Title: What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shibuya, Harajuku, Ueno, and Asakusa The guests visited Japan from North America. In Shibuya, they first purchased a Welcome Suica card and experienced the Scramble Crossing, then went to Meiji Shrine. They were delighted by how beautiful the forest of Meiji Shrine was. We were also able to see a first-visit blessing ceremony taking place. For lunch, they wanted ramen. Both of the guests said they loved spicy food, so they ordered the spiciest ramen and said it was very delicious. We walked along Takeshita Street and then headed to the National Museum in Ueno. They took an interest in Japanese art as well, saying that the kimono and folding screens were beautiful. Finally, we went to Senso-ji Temple and the Nakamise shopping street in Asakusa, and since they were going to join a sushi-making experience in Asakusa from 16:00, we parted ways there. There was hardly any rain, and the weather was relatively cool, making it a comfortable day.

What's a Private Tour of Matsushima and Sendai in Tohoku Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was a cheerful and energetic visitor from North America, visiting Japan for the third time. After climbing Mount Fuji, the guest traveled from Sapporo to Sendai using a Japan Rail Pass. Although the sky was cloudy, patches of blue sky began to appear from time to time, and the guest enjoyed the sightseeing boat, Zuiganji Temple, and Entsuin Temple. The guest took many photos, especially in the garden of Entsuin Temple. Unlike Kyoto and Tokyo, Tohoku has fewer international tourists, and the guest seemed to appreciate this, mentioning a wish to visit the Sea of Japan side of Tohoku and Shikoku next time. As the guest was also a fan of local craft beer, I guided them to "Iroha Yokocho," a nightlife spot in Sendai.

What Is a Private Tokyo Food and Culture Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. One of them had previously traveled to several Southeast Asian destinations, while the other was experiencing Asia for the first time and wanted to encounter a different culture. Both were interested in trying various foods on the go, and the items they had mentioned in advance — mitarashi dango, melon pan, and taiyaki — were all found and enjoyed in Asakusa. Their preferences split between mitarashi dango and melon pan, and for the taiyaki they seemed to prefer custard filling over red bean paste. They also spotted gyoza at the basement food hall of a department store and, wanting to try it, purchased some and enjoyed it while sitting on a bench in the underground concourse. After that, at a rice cracker shop just before the entrance to Yanaka shopping street, they purchased one traditional zarame soy sauce senbei and shared it to taste together. At a coffee shop just past Yanaka Ginza, they showed interest in the coffee of the day, which was advertised as fruity, and ordered it. Along the way, I also recommended various restaurants for their future reference. This tour was full of pleasant and surprising unexpected moments. First, as we got off at Nippori Station and were about to board an escalator, we encountered Mr. Toshiyuki Mimaki, a representative of Nihon Hidankyo, which received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2024. He had attended the award ceremony that was broadcast many times on television, and I recognized his face at once, but to avoid being rude I first confirmed politely before greeting him on the escalator. In fact, when I turned around to check that the guests had boarded the escalator right behind me, I ended up making eye contact with him. I later learned that the guests had let him go ahead of them in line. When I explained about the Nobel Prize, they were excited, saying, "Wow, we just let a Nobel Prize laureate go ahead of us on the escalator!" Also, while strolling from the front of the Nijubashi Bridge at the Imperial Palace toward Tokyo Station, we happened upon a festival rehearsal (Tokyo Wasshoi 2025), where people were practicing their central dance around magnificent mikoshi and a festival tower, and we were able to watch and enjoy it briefly.

The tour started at Ginza subway station, where the guests purchased a PASMO card. Since they wanted to see the Imperial Palace, we headed to the Imperial Palace Plaza rather than the East Gardens, which were closed that day. Just as we arrived at Nijubashi Bridge, it began to rain, so after taking some photos we moved on to the Sakuradamon Gate. After a short rest, we made our way to the Tsukiji Outer Market. We had lunch at a long-established sushi restaurant, and the guests were delighted by how delicious it was. When I explained the goma fire ritual at Fukagawa Fudodo Temple, they said they would love to go. The guests were able to fully enjoy Japanese culture and history.

What Is a Private Tokyo Day Tour Like with a Licensed Guide? A JGA Guide's Report Rain had been a concern, but although there was a light sprinkle at one point, it stayed mostly cloudy. Since the guests were coming from a hotel in the Maihama area, I had considered meeting inside Tokyo Station, but as they do not usually ride trains in daily life, they felt unsure about whether they could get to Tokyo Station on their own, so they decided to come by taxi. I waited at the taxi drop-off area and we met without any trouble. One of the guests loved taking photos and videos and enjoyed filming at each location. Since I had heard that one of the guests was a big fan of Hello Kitty, I guided the group to the Kitty corner at Tokyo Tower, where they purchased items such as a bag and an umbrella and started using them right away. At the Shibuya scramble crossing, one of the guests remarked that it looked like a big city overseas. After that we walked from Shibuya to Harajuku, and by the time we arrived in Harajuku, one of the guests had grown tired and a little bored, so I made a reservation at a mini pig cafe. Since there were about 20 minutes until the reservation time, we rested on a bench in front of the Uniqlo in Harajuku, then I took the group to the mini pig cafe, confirmed their check-in was complete, and we parted ways. One of the guests had mentioned wanting to purchase original custom sneakers at Onitsuka Tiger, but since the group did not seem able to walk that far, I sent the location by smartphone with an explanation to finish up. They plan to visit Disney the next day, Mount Fuji the day after, and then travel to Osaka. What Can You See on a Private Day Tour of Shizuoka? A Licensed Guide's Report on Miho no Matsubara, Nihondaira, and Mount Fuji The guests were a cheerful group from North America. We first went to Miho no Matsubara, where we walked along the God's Path, saw the Hagoromo Pine, the Élène monument, and Hagoruma Shrine, then went out to the beach and even played in the water. Mount Fuji was surprisingly clearly visible, which made the trip well worth it. After that, we headed to the ropeway station, but decided against it since the climb up to Toshogu Shrine looked strenuous. Instead, we went up to the Yume Terrace right in front of us, and although Mount Fuji was no longer visible, the guests were moved as they looked down over Suruga Bay, the city of Shizuoka, and all the way to the Southern Alps. They also had fun putting on tea-picking costumes at the Tea Museum. After that, they suddenly wanted to see bonsai as well, so we headed to Koku-sei-en, which I had discovered on a previous tour. They marveled at the very professional works, had a meal at a restaurant inside Parche at Shizuoka Station, and then returned to the port.

I have been teaching high school students for 40 years as an English teacher and guiding for 10years including a volunteer guide .Now I am a national government licensed guide. I have been dreaming to introduce Japanese culture including tasty Japanese food and history , our society and also some problems in it. It is a great moment of joy and excitement to be with you from all over the world. I love traveling around Japan and abroad myself. I visited East Germany ,too that does not exist any more. I am looking forward to guiding you in and around Shizuoka!

What Is a Private Day Tour of Matsushima and Sendai Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was found after assignment to follow a vegan diet, and after the tour requested to visit a restaurant near the Shiogama wholesale fish market that the guest had researched, asking how to get there. I explained that the restaurant had limited opening hours for a post-tour visit, so I looked into various options within Matsushima Town and suggested having lunch in Sendai City instead. At first the guest said they were not particular about it, but after seeing the menu they clearly wanted something satisfying. Since there are few restaurants in Sendai City that accommodate this dietary need, I was glad to be able to introduce Ohisama-ya near Sendai Station. The guest had also researched on their own the day before and said, "This is the same place I visited yesterday," so I suggested a fruit cafe behind the station instead, but they replied, "The menu at Ohisama-ya is good, so I don't mind visiting again." In Matsushima, we made good use of our time by starting with Entsuin Temple, then the Matsushima sightseeing cruise, and Zuiganji Temple. The highlight of Matsushima is undoubtedly the sightseeing cruise. Recently I have been using Marubun Matsushima Kisen, which allows free access to the second-floor deck for the same price, and it has been well received by guests. Best of all, it is not crowded, and one can relax until boarding time without worrying about departure schedules. Throughout the tour I aimed for a stress-free itinerary and chose routes that avoided the crowds. Since the guest planned to stay in Sendai for another two or three days, I introduced the Jozenji Street Jazz Festival held in Sendai City and gave them an event map. My friend from North America, who works at the tourist information center inside Sendai Station, also spoke with them and explained the jazz festival to the guest. Since my friend had also assisted the guest when they visited the information center the day before, I told them to visit my friend if they needed any information during their stay in Sendai.
