    What Is a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shibuya, the Imperial Palace, and Asakusa The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from Europe. They mentioned that after sightseeing in Tokyo, they planned to visit Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima. In Shibuya, they were fascinated by the lively scramble crossing. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo Shogunate. At Senso-ji Temple, they listened with interest to explanations about the difference between temples and shrines, as well as the Kaminarimon Gate. Since they said they could return to their hotel on their own after doing some shopping in Asakusa, we parted ways in Asakusa.     Title: What Can You See on a 6-Hour Private Tokyo Tour Before a Cruise Departure? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America on their first trip to Japan, doing some sightseeing in Tokyo just before departing on a cruise from the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal. When I met the guests at their hotel in the morning, the itinerary that had been provided to them by the cruise company (which had not been shared with me as the guide) was impossible to cover within six hours no matter how we tried, so I explained this, and they said, "We trust you, so we'll leave it to you." Partway through, a wish to do some shopping came up, and I guided them as much as time allowed. In the end, we finished without any time problems and were even able to stop by Yodobashi Akiba, where the guests had wanted to go, so they were very satisfied. At Meiji Shrine, although it was crowded with tourists, the guests were delighted by the solemn atmosphere. After viewing the Imperial Palace, since they had not yet had breakfast, we decided to have a very early lunch at Tokyo Station. It was around 10:30, and the restaurants at GRANSTA Yaesu North were not yet open, so I guided them to a soba restaurant in the basement. They had kakiage and shrimp tempura soba, and although it was very casual soba, they were pleased and said it was "very delicious." After that, rather than the stop in Ginza that one of the guests had been interested in, priority was given to a wish to buy a new digital camera, as one of the guests enjoys photography, so I suggested Yodobashi Camera. It happened to be on the way to Asakusa, so there was plenty of time to shop. However, the desired camera was a newly released and very popular model and was sold out. The store staff kindly inquired at all their branches, but due to its popularity, it was sold out at every store. The guest understood, and after a little window shopping at the watch section, we headed to Asakusa. After visiting Sensoji Temple, the guests wanted to buy a Japanese knife as a souvenir, so I guided them to the Seisuke Knife shop. Because of the price, they decided it was too expensive as a gift and did not buy it, but at another shop, some Shiseido cosmetics were purchased. After that, we strolled through Sumida Park, and the guests enjoyed the unique Asahi Beer object. After the tour, the guests had an appointment to meet a relative who had lived in Japan for a long time and whom they had not seen in decades, so after seeing everyone safely reunite in front of the Park Exit ticket gate at Ueno Station, we said our goodbyes.

    What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, Harajuku, and Shibuya Today's guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. We first visited Asakusa. Since it was early in the morning, it was relatively uncrowded, so we were able to look around at a leisurely pace. Next, we moved on to Tsukiji and strolled through the Tsukiji Market. As it was getting close to noon, it started to become crowded and walking was a bit difficult. We enjoyed a sushi lunch at a sushi restaurant I had reserved, and the guests said it was extremely delicious. Next, we strolled through Harajuku and Omotesando. When I told them that this was the Champs-Élysées of Tokyo, they agreed that it was very similar. After that, we walked through Meiji Shrine, and finally the guests experienced the Shibuya Crossing. They were amazed, saying it looked just like Times Square in New York.

    What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Rikugien, Harajuku, and Meiji Shrine The guests were visitors from Europe. It was their first time in Japan, and they were looking forward to their trip. At first I suggested using taxis, but since the guests were all in good spirits, they preferred to travel by subway as much as possible. Initially they had hoped to visit the Imperial Palace and the East Gardens as well, but since these are closed on Mondays, I informed them of this and we chose the itinerary described above. In Asakusa, they listened intently to explanations about the historical background. Rikugien Garden was not very crowded, so we walked around at a relaxed pace. They were moved by the explanations given as we rested from time to time. In Harajuku, they wanted to eat ramen, so I introduced them to a popular shop. At Meiji Shrine, I explained Shinto in detail. I saw the guests off at their hotel. They were very pleased and expressed their deep gratitude.

    What Is a Private Walking Tour of Tsukiji, Hama-rikyu, and Yanaka in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan. On the morning of the tour, trains on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line were stopped due to an accident, so even though I left home more than two hours early, I arrived 15 minutes late. However, the guests welcomed me warmly, which was a great relief. Starting from Iidabashi, we visited the requested spots of Tsukiji, Hama-rikyu, and Yanaka. At Tsukiji, they enjoyed a sushi lunch. Wanting to try something they don't usually eat, they savored conger eel. At Hama-rikyu, the cosmos flowers were in full bloom and they took many photos. In Yanaka, there happened to be a television filming, with sumo wrestlers present, and the guests were delighted by the impressive size of the wrestlers. The tour ended at Sendagi Station. I believe they enjoyed themselves.

    Title: What Does a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, Yanaka, and Meiji Jingu The guests were visitors from North America. It was their first visit to Japan. The purpose of this trip to Japan was to board a cruise ship departing from Yokohama Port for a voyage around Japan. Yesterday, after finishing the cruise, they traveled from Yokohama Port to Shinjuku by taxi. Last night, they said they had joined a "food tour" in Shinjuku. Tomorrow they plan to watch morning sumo training, and the day after they plan to return home by air. On the cruise, they said they particularly liked the city of Kagoshima and the sand steam bath. The tour took place under cloudy skies with occasional glimpses of sunshine. They mentioned that something they ate on yesterday's food tour seemed to have upset their stomach, so we proceeded while making frequent stops at restrooms along the way. First, we went to Asakusa. As always, it was extremely crowded. We started from in front of Kaminarimon Gate. I explained about "Sensoji Temple and the history from Edo to Tokyo," "what the five-story pagoda is for," "what Buddhism is," and "the difference between Buddhism and Shinto." We took commemorative photos at Kaminarimon, in front of the five-story pagoda, and at various other spots. We strolled slowly through the Nakamise shopping street. There were questions such as "What are the major religions in Japan?", "How many Buddhists are there in Japan?", "Besides Buddhism, what other religions do people believe in?", and "Are there any Catholics in Japan?" After this, we went to Tsukiji. This too was as crowded with tourists as ever. We strolled through "Tsukiji Uogashi" and then went to the "outer market." I explained about "the history of Tokyo's fish markets since the Edo period" and "the difference between Toyosu Market and the Tsukiji outer market." There were also questions and comments such as "Do all Tokyo residents come here to buy fish?" and "It's crowded, but it seems like there are a lot of tourists." Since they said they were getting hungry and wanted to eat something light, we went to Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. They both had warm soba noodles. They said they wanted to see an old part of Tokyo, so we went to Yanaka Ginza. They said, "Even though it's narrow, it was nice to see the atmosphere of an old town." We moved to Harajuku. I explained about "Shinto," "torii gates," "Emperor Meiji," "why sake barrels are displayed," and "why wine barrels are displayed." There were questions such as "What kind of religion is Shinto?", "It's completely different from Sensoji Temple," and "How do Buddhism and Shinto differ?" We took a break at the café terrace at Meiji Jingu. They commented, "Japanese people are all quiet and polite," and "There are no hand dryers or paper towels in the public restrooms." I saw them off at Shinjuku Station, and we parted ways.

    In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.

    Guest was a visiting group from North America. It was their first visit to Japan. They had arrived at Haneda on a direct flight the previous day and took a taxi to their Hotel. They said they had strolled around the Hotel area the previous evening. This was an approximately two-week trip to Japan. After staying in Tokyo, they planned to visit Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and Hiroshima, then return to Tokyo before heading home. It was quite a hot and humid day for the tour. They requested to meet and start the tour not at their accommodation, but in the lobby of the Hotel at Tokyo Station. However, I received a call saying, "We don't know which exit to use from Tokyo Station," so it took quite a bit of effort before we managed to meet up. We strolled slowly on foot through Marunouchi, Gyoko-dori Avenue, and in front of Nijubashi Bridge. We then moved to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. I explained about "Japanese history from the Edo period to the Meiji era," "the Meiji Restoration," "why Edo Castle became the Imperial Palace," and "the Great Tokyo Air Raid," among other topics. There were questions and comments such as "What happened to the shoguns and samurai after the Meiji Restoration?", "Does the current Emperor of Japan hold political authority?", and "The pine trees are beautiful and wonderful." We passed from Hirakawa Gate to Takebashi Station and headed to Mitsukoshimae Station. We strolled through shops such as "Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi," "Kiya," "Ninben," and "Yamamoto Noriten." By chance, a "Niigata Prefecture products fair" was being held, and here they experienced "sake tasting," which they seemed to enjoy very much. They also seemed to especially like the basement food floor of the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi store, saying, "We'll come back again tomorrow." From here, we moved to Shinjuku. I explained about "the origins of Shinjuku," "the differences between the east and west sides," and "the history of Kabukicho." They seemed to particularly like the "Godzilla Head" and the "cat billboard," photographing them enthusiastically. They said, "The atmosphere is different from Shibuya." After that, we moved to Harajuku. I explained about "Shinto," "torii gates," "Emperor Meiji," "why sake barrels are displayed," and "why wine barrels are displayed." There were questions such as "What kind of religion is Shinto?", "It's completely different from Sensoji Temple," and "How do Buddhism and Shinto differ?" We took a break at Cafe Terrace Meiji Jingu. From here, we moved to Shibuya. We actually crossed the Scramble Square. There were questions like "Why do so many people gather here?" and "Why did it become famous?" We also took photos in front of the Hachiko statue. There were comments and questions such as "Japanese people are all quiet and polite," "I felt the public safety is very good," "The streets are clean and there's no litter," and "Why aren't there trash cans on the streets?" We parted ways in front of Shibuya Station.

    Self-introduction:
    In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
    Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
    I am a certified CPA in the United States.
    In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
    Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
    My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
    Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
    One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

    What's a Private Day Tour of Tokyo Like? Asakusa and Tsukiji with a Licensed Guide The guests were visitors from North America who spoke Spanish with each other. They preferred not to fix a detailed itinerary in advance, wishing instead to decide on the day after discussing options. From the destinations they had requested, we omitted Skytree and carried out the tour according to the planned route. At Senso-ji Temple, they enjoyed experiencing omikuji fortunes, incense, and the purification fountain. In Tsukiji, they preferred a sit-down meal rather than eating while walking. I initially guided them to the food court at Tsukiji Uogashi, but since they wished to pay by credit card rather than cash, we had lunch at "Sushizanmai Annex." After the tour, the guests mentioned that they were meeting a friend in Shinjuku, so I saw them off at the East Exit of Shinjuku Station, which was their meeting point, and concluded the tour.

    Can You Do a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Including Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, Ginza, and Asakusa? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from Europe on a trip of about three weeks in total. For their Tokyo sightseeing, they had already booked activities such as go-karting and teamLab. After Tokyo, they planned to travel to Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima, and then continue on to sightseeing in Asia before returning home. This private one-day Tokyo tour was arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/). At Meiji Shrine, the guests actively took part in the experience of worship. At Takeshita Street, which we visited next, they were amazed by a pig café. At the NISSAN showroom in Ginza, one of the guests actually got into a car on display and looked very happy, and they also took commemorative photos. For lunch we went to Kamatake Udon, where one of the guests ordered bukkake udon topped with chikuwa and egg tempura, while another, wanting to try wagyu, ordered beef udon; they said it was very delicious and finished every bit. At Asakusa, one of the guests tried drawing an omikuji fortune, but drew "kyo" (bad luck). The fortune happened to advise against something they were currently planning, such as buying a home, but they laughed and said, "This means saying goodbye to bad luck," and tied the fortune to the designated rack. Since one of the guests, who had studied photography at university, wished to buy a digital camera, I guided them to Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara. After explaining an easy way to return to their hotel, we said goodbye there.

    What Is a Private Day Tour of Shizuoka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nihondaira, Kunozan Toshogu, and Sumpu Castle The guests were a group visiting from North America. As one of them had difficulty walking, we proceeded slowly throughout the day. At the Nihondaira Yume Terrace, Mount Fuji was visible all the way to its summit — a rare sight for this time of year — and the guests were delighted. We then took the ropeway to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine. Since Tokugawa Ieyasu is familiar to visitors from North America through a Disney television drama, the guests were deeply moved to see this National Treasure shrine. Next was Sumpu Castle, also associated with Ieyasu, and as it was apparently their first time seeing a Japanese castle, they were very impressed. For lunch, they enjoyed seafood rice bowls, tempura rice bowls, an assorted tempura platter, and local Shizuoka craft beer, all of which they found delicious. By then Mount Fuji was hidden behind clouds and no longer visible, so at Miho no Matsubara I briefly introduced the story of the Hagoromo Pine, and the guests found it fascinating.

    My name is Shuji, meaning “Excellent Manager” in English. I was born in Hiroshima 1952. I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
    After graduating Kyoto Univ. I joined Mitsubishi-UFJ Bank, Osaka Branch where I met my wife who was a master of Englsih, so I started studying English.
    The bank allowed me to go to Columbia Graduate business school in New York and got MBA Degree there. I worked in London and Manchester Branch.
    During staying in U.K., I was introduced by BBC and Financial Times News Paper about my achievement there. I was selected as a personal assistant and interpreter for the President of the Bank.
    I made many business trips with him to overseas countries. I experienced as an interpreter for meeting late Henry Kissinger and the President of Citi. Corp.
    I changed the job to ORIX corporation, there I was promoted to a Board Member. When the company had acquired Dutch company, I was a member as an accountant to check the Dutch company’s statements of accounts.
    My hobbies are cooking, singing a song, playing tennis & golf, enjoy seeing arts especially opera & musical, travel. I am also busy with taking care of grandchildren. I passed Government Licensed Guide Exam. in 2016. After I retired in 2017, I started guide job as a part timer. So far, I accomplished guide job more than 500 times.
