What Is an Early Morning Tsukiji Fish Market and Tuna Auction Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report 1. The tour and the guests' reactions on the day This became a large gathering of a group of guests residing in North America. Although they had only arrived in Japan the previous evening, everyone cheerfully joined the tour from 5:00 in the early morning. Today there were many fresh tuna up for auction, and I was able to let them observe the lively bidding. As everyone tried to read the hand signals of the intermediary wholesalers indicating the bid prices, they happily called out, "Ah, 5,000 yen, and this one is 6,000 yen." At the sushi breakfast after the auction, everyone ordered various different sushi sets and shared them while talking about which was the most delicious. In particular, they split into fans of lean tuna, medium-fatty tuna, and marinated tuna, and enjoyed a fun discussion about which was tastier. One of the guests was not fond of the smell of fish, so I informed the head chef in advance, and he prepared a "kanpyo roll" that is not usually on the menu, allowing that guest to enjoy sushi together with everyone. I am grateful for the head chef's spirit of hospitality. At Tsukiji, they viewed the seafood at the intermediary wholesalers' shops and enjoyed the atmosphere, which was different from markets in North America. After that, since they were interested in Japanese kitchen knives, I took them to a recommended knife shop, where they purchased a Japanese knife. Finally, we bought warm drinks at a café that John Lennon frequented, and the tour came to an end. 2. Other impressions It was a cold day with a snowfall forecast, so strolling around Tsukiji was a bit challenging. However, everyone joined the tour cheerfully and energetically until the end, which made it a joyful tour for me as a guide. The Tsukiji outer market in the early Saturday morning had fewer people, so we could stroll at a relaxed pace. I would have liked them to try more foods if possible, but since they had just arrived in Japan and were still jet-lagged, they wished to return to the hotel early. So, in response to their request, after guiding them to Japanese knives and strawberry daifuku, we strolled a bit around the market and concluded the tour. 3. Special notes and requests A guide from another tour company was handing out intercoms to the guests and explaining the auction to them by radio. This time, guiding a group of guests, it was a bit difficult to explain in a way that reached everyone, so I thought this intercom method was a good idea. I would like to consider whether something similar could be done using a smartphone. If [Japan Guide Agency](https://www.j-g-a.org/) has any ideas, please let me know.

What Is a Private Day Tour of Kagoshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Sengan-en and Sakurajima The guests were visitors from Oceania. They practice bonsai in their home region and are fond of Japan. They mentioned that it was summer where they came from, with temperatures reaching 43°C. At Sengan-en, the guests took a keen interest in the reverberatory furnace and were so eager to learn that they photographed all of the materials about the Shuseikan industrial project. They love flowers and even explained the flowers in the garden to me. They were impressed by the udon served on the Sakurajima ferry. At the Yunohira Observatory, they asked questions about the erosion control dam and why the pine trees had withered. They said that Japanese green tea is good for health and that they drink it every day to help prevent cancer, so I took them to a tea shop before we parted ways.

I’m a national government licensed tour guide. I moved to Kagoshima from Osaka four years ago because I was amazed by its perfect blend of stunning nature beauty and rich culture. We can see the majestic Sakurajima volcano from the city, which reminds us the powerful natural forces. Kagoshima was home to major Meiji Restoration figures, so history lovers will find plenty to explore. And of course, the food is incredible—famous for Kurobuta (Berkshire pork), Satsuma-age (fried fish cakes), and Shochu (a local distilled spirit).

I’m passionate about history and love visiting historical sites all over Japan. I also like outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, and camping. Kagoshima’s natural landscape is perfect for these adventures, so there’s always something new to discover.

I look forward to sharing wonderful Kagoshima with you and making unforgettable memories together!

What Is an Early-Morning Private Walking Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group from North America who had visited Tokyo and Kyoto and were about to enjoy skiing in Hakuba, Nagano. Since the meeting time was 7:30, we were able to visit Yasaka Pagoda and Kiyomizu-dera Temple during a quiet time with few people, which they were very pleased about. They enjoyed attractions such as the Tainai-meguri at Kiyomizu-dera Temple and took many photos. Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine was also relatively uncrowded, so they greatly enjoyed passing through the torii gates. Along the way, one of the guests wanted to purchase a JR limited express ticket, so I assisted with the purchase at Kyoto Station. I believe everyone had a wonderful time.

Tokyo in One Day: Meiji Shrine & Asakusa

    Tour Itinerary

    • 9:00 Meet at Hotel (one person felt unwell, so departure was slightly delayed to 9:10)
    • 9:25 Meiji Shrine
    • 11:05 Rikugien Garden, before which we bought medicine at a drugstore. After the visit, one person felt unwell and returned to the hotel from Komagome Station, so we saw them off
    • 12:20 Nezu Shrine
    • 13:10 Ueno Toshogu Shrine
    • 13:50 Asakusa (Skytree photo)
    • 15:40 Disband in front of Hotel

Title: What Is a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report It was slightly cloudy, but there was no rain, so the tour proceeded smoothly. The guests had already set up Suica cards, which allowed the tour to run smoothly. At first, one of the guests appeared and explained that another member of the group was not feeling well but still wanted to join the tour, asking me to wait a little while. We visited Meiji Shrine and Rikugien Garden, but since the guest who was unwell continued to feel poorly—stopping to buy pain relief medicine in front of Rikugien Garden—that person returned to the hotel partway through. After that, we continued as planned to Nezu Shrine, and since the guests expressed interest in the Shogun, we walked to Ueno Toshogu Shrine, where I gave an explanation, then toured Asakusa and saw them off in front of the hotel to conclude the tour. I received a tip.

What Is a Private Full-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Nijo Castle, and Sanjusangendo The guests visited Japan from North America, and it was the first visit to Japan for one of them. Since their accommodation was deep in the Higashiyama area, the start time was changed to 9:30 and we met at Fushimi Inari. It was good that we were able to meet earlier than planned. It was another warm day, and we did not feel cold at all. The guests were cheerful and asked many questions. One of the guests worked in a field related to architecture and was interested in the buildings of shrines and temples. They told me that their home city is the eighth largest by population among cities in North America, with a larger population than another well-known city there. When we finished the tour at Sanjusangendo, one of the guests said, "You Japanese must be proud to have so much history and cultural heritage." I felt that this was true. From the subway Nijo Station to Nijo Castle we walked, and I introduced the old townscape along the way. From the subway Higashiyama Station to Sanjusangendo we used a taxi. The photo was taken at Kinkaku-ji.

I was born and grew up in Kyoto and now live near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I used to be a schoolteacher of English and welcome a lot of students from foreign countries. I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people. I myself enjoyed several sports, such as soccer, judo, and marathon when I was young. I’m much interested in baseball and sumo. My motto as a tour guide is to let my guests learn about our tradition and culture precisely and really enjoy themselves. I strongly hope you will enjoy the tour in Japan with me.

On this day, I introduced the main highlights of Tokyo while also explaining how to use the public transportation system. At the end, I walked them through the actual route to reach Shinjuku, where they would board a limited express train from Shiomi Station, going along the reverse route so they could follow it in practice, and we concluded the tour at the Keiyo Line platform of Tokyo Station. Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? Asakusa and Kappabashi with a Licensed Guide The guests were a group of friends visiting Japan for the second time. After sightseeing in Tokyo, they planned to continue to Osaka, Nara, and the Tohoku region. At Kappabashi Kitchen Town, they asked the shop staff many questions about the types, sizes, and prices of cooking knives, and after testing the sharpness of numerous knives, they purchased two cooking knives and several food samples. For lunch, they enjoyed yakiniku (grilled meat). At Sensoji Temple, they listened with great interest to explanations about the differences between temples and shrines, as well as the Kaminarimon Gate. They also purchased T-shirts as souvenirs. Since they had a reservation at the Samurai Ninja Museum after this tour, we parted ways in Asakusa. I responded to all of the guests' requests, so I believe they were satisfied.

Title: What's a Private Hakone Day Tour with Mount Fuji Views Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The night before the tour, both the guest and the local travel agency contacted me about a change of hotel. When I confirmed the details on the day, the reason was that Japanese-style futon bedding was not suitable for one of the guests, so the accommodation had been changed. The group was a very family-oriented one. Mount Fuji was overwhelmingly impressive, and the guests forwarded photos to friends back home to share their delight. At the presentation of the secret puzzle boxes, the guests cheered with excitement, thoroughly enjoyed it, and did a lot of shopping. At a donburi teahouse, the master kindly prepared a rice bowl dish that was slightly off the regular menu, which pleased the guests, and everyone took photos together. At the Hakone Open-Air Museum, one of the guests was thrilled with the jungle gym, and it felt a little sad to have to bring that to an end. Although we went a little over time, the whole tour felt like it passed in the blink of an eye.

I am Hiroki Morikawa :Hiro:, English guide living with my wife ,just a hop skip and jump from Hakone, Kamakura, Tokyo and the Mt. Fuji.
I am a friendly grandfather of 4 grandchildren.
I would love to help you enjoy Japan, using my 3 strong points.
First: I am used to dealing with any kind of matters. I have experienced various situations in the 40 years of my working life.
Second: I am good at making a friendly atmosphere between you and local people to help you enjoy Japan. I was raised in western Japan, studied in northern Japan and now live in central Japan. So I know various local cultures and dialects to communicate with a wide variety of people.
Third: I can explain things from a technical point of view.
For example, how the Great Buddha was constructed, because I am a master of engineering graduated from Hokkaido University.
Please enjoy Japan with me. See you soon!!

What Can You See on a Private Full-Day Tokyo Walking Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests arrived in Japan the day before from Oceania. This time they planned to stay only in Tokyo for about a week. We first strolled through Omoide Yokocho in Shinjuku, admired the 3D cat billboard, headed to Shinjuku Station, and then went to Meiji Shrine. They were surprised to find such a beautiful place in the very center of Tokyo. After that, we walked along Takeshita Street, and they checked the locations of a micro pig cafe and a cat cafe, which they planned to revisit another day. In Shibuya, they experienced the Shibuya Crossing, and then we moved on to Asakusa. After enjoying the view from the observation deck at the information center, we visited Senso-ji Temple. They listened attentively to explanations about Shinto and Buddhism as well. For lunch, we went to Kura Sushi. They said they often eat sushi in Oceania too. They really liked the system where you order on the Kura Sushi tablet and the dishes are delivered on the lane, and they found the ingredients fresh and the variety wonderful. They also won a prize in the game and were surprised at how reasonable the prices were, so it seemed they had a great time. Afterward, they planned to walk to the Tokyo Skytree, so we went together as far as the Sumida River and said goodbye. It was a warm, spring-like day with fine weather, and I believe they enjoyed themselves.
