Title: What Is a Private Winter Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They said they had chosen to come during the quieter season in February to avoid the crowds, but since it was around 20 degrees back home, they were shivering in the cold winter weather of Kyoto. One of the guests was studying architecture at university and seemed amazed by the traditional building methods of shrines and temples, which use no nails and do not require digging into the ground. We said our goodbyes in Gion at the end, and the guests planned to explore Gion and Nishiki Market on their own afterward.

Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Sightseeing Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from Oceania and were spending three days in Tokyo after a ski trip in Hakuba. I guided them according to the requests they had given me in advance, but toward the end we ran short on time, and since the guests were a little tired and wished to return to their hotel, we skipped the Hamarikyu Gardens and I saw them off at Kokkai-gijidomae Station along the way, ending the tour there. For lunch, they had requested Japanese food, but since each of the guests wanted something different, I took them to Otto in Ueno, where they could choose from a variety of options, and they were very pleased. The purpose of this visit was to learn about Japanese history and culture and to become familiar with how to use public transportation, so I believe the guests were satisfied with the tour.

Title: What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like for First-Time Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests visited Japan from Oceania. Most of the group were visiting Japan for the first time, while one of them had been to Tokyo before. I had been told beforehand that one member of the group walked slowly, but they walked steadily and without falling significantly behind. Today was a pleasant day for a tour, with no wind and warm sunshine. The number of tourists at each site we visited was relatively small, which made guiding very easy. The guests asked almost no questions, but they listened attentively to my explanations and responded well. Due to a recent lack of rain, the water at the "White Snake Mound" of Kinkaku-ji had become very low. With little snowfall as well, water shortages are becoming noticeable in various places around Kyoto City. We took a taxi from Higashiyama subway station to Kiyomizu-michi. The photo was taken at Kinkaku-ji.

I was born and grew up in Kyoto and now live near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I used to be a schoolteacher of English and welcome a lot of students from foreign countries. I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people. I myself enjoyed several sports, such as soccer, judo, and marathon when I was young. I’m much interested in baseball and sumo. My motto as a tour guide is to let my guests learn about our tradition and culture precisely and really enjoy themselves. I strongly hope you will enjoy the tour in Japan with me.

Title: What's a Private Family-Friendly Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from Oceania. For most of the group, this was their first trip to Japan. The advance guest information listed four adults, but some of the group were younger travelers. In our email correspondence, there had been a request to visit Yanaka Ginza, but after meeting on the day and reviewing the itinerary, something felt slightly off, so while in the car I asked again why they had chosen Yanaka Ginza. It turned out they had confused it with the famous Ginza district, so we had to change the itinerary on short notice, but the driver kindly accommodated the change. Some of the guests loved animals so much that they were happy to skip the main hall of Meiji Shrine, and everyone enjoyed the animal cafe and shopping on Takeshita Street. I believe the whole group had a wonderful time.

Title: What Is a Private Family-Friendly Day Tour in Japan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour was for a group. Since some of the guests had dietary preferences, I chose a restaurant offering plant-based cuisine for lunch. I also introduced an okonomiyaki restaurant near the hotel that offered a plant-based menu for dinner after the tour. When one of the guests' phone battery charger did not work, I lent them mine, and they were delighted with the convenient magnetic type, saying they would buy one in Japan before returning home. Although it was the off-season, the weather was fine, so we were able to take the tour at a relaxed pace and the guests were very relaxed.

Hello, I’m Kyoko, a certified regional interpreter-guide for Hiroshima Prefecture. I was born, educated, and worked in Hiroshima while raising my children, and I absolutely love this city. I have a deep interest in learning about history and culture, and I enjoy exploring the city and trying out local foods. Meeting people from diverse backgrounds and chatting with them brings me great joy, so I’m really looking forward to helping make your trip to Hiroshima a wonderful and memorable experience.

Hiroshima is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Atomic Bomb Dome and Itsukushima Shrine. The Atomic Bomb Dome is a poignant reminder of history, standing gracefully within a beautiful park. Walking through the park together, we can reflect on the powerful message of peace it conveys. Itsukushima Shrine, famous for its red torii gate floating in the sea, is located on a picturesque island. It’s a place where you can enjoy a truly relaxing and serene time.

I can also guide you to other popular tourist destinations, help you enjoy Hiroshima’s local delicacies such as okonomiyaki, oysters, and conger eel, or assist you with shopping.

I will do my utmost to ensure that your trip to Hiroshima becomes a wonderful and unforgettable memory.

Title: What's a Private Nagasaki Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests, visiting from Asia, appeared to be enjoying the tour. At Peace Park, they attentively viewed the Fountain of Peace, the Peace Statue, and the memorial monuments donated by various countries. They also listened with great interest to the history of Urakami Cathedral, which is visible from Peace Park. At the Hypocenter Park, they listened attentively to how the hypocenter was identified and to the number of victims. At the Atomic Bomb Museum, they carefully observed the exhibits depicting the extent of the damage. At Meganebashi (Spectacles Bridge), they viewed with interest the reflection of the bridge on the surface of the Nakashima River. For lunch, I had originally planned Chinese cuisine in Chinatown, but since there was a request for Japanese food, I guided the guests to a wagyu beef restaurant also located in Chinatown. At Glover Garden, they listened with interest to the role Glover played in Japan's modernization. The tour concluded at Oura Cathedral, located at the exit of Glover Garden. As the guests wished to attend a service at Oura Cathedral, I explained how to return to the hotel and we parted ways.

What Is a Private Tokyo Sightseeing and Shopping Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided a group visiting from North America. A travel agency was involved as an intermediary throughout, and shortly before the tour I was given only a phone number. Despite my requests, I never received an email address, and when I tried messaging and calling, I could not get through. It later turned out the number was incorrect. I was relieved when we were able to meet safely at the Hotel. The guests were friendly and lovely people. At Hamarikyu Gardens, the plum blossoms were just beginning to bloom and looked beautiful. The guests enjoyed shopping, purchasing tableware in Tsukiji, woodblock prints in Asakusa, and glassware at Kappabashi. It took a while to decide on lunch, but we ended up at a monjayaki restaurant, where they enjoyed yakisoba and okonomiyaki. They asked me many questions, including about politics. The final planned stops, Takeshita Street and the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, ended up being seen from the car due to time constraints, but since the tour proceeded according to the guests' wishes, they appeared very satisfied.

Hello!! I’m Takako. Thank you for seeing my page. I’ve been showing guests around Tokyo, Yokohama and Kamakura for over six years. There are various things from historic sites, shrines and temples to cultural spots, good restaurants and anime shops in Japan.

My favorite place is Tsukiji food market. It’s really exciting and you can enjoy a variety of delicious foods.
I also like visiting Japanese gardens such as Hama-rikyu Gardens and Rikugien Gardens.
Please let me know what interests you.

What Is an 8-Hour Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe who were in Japan for the first time. Based on the requests received in advance, I guided them with a few added arrangements. They were cheerful and lively, and while it was wonderful that they enjoyed the tour, there were moments that kept me on edge over the 8 hours, such as when they started using an e-cigarette on the station platform or played YouTube out loud on the train. Each time I pointed it out, they stopped right away, so I understood that they simply were not aware and meant no harm, but I hope they avoid any trouble during their stay in Japan. As for the tour itself, at the end they told me "you've been great!", so I believe they were satisfied.

Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour in Summer? A Licensed Guide's Report It was a hot day, so I paid close attention to preventing heat exhaustion. The guests wished to see Asakusa first and meet there at 9:00, so we proceeded that way. At the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, the paved paths had become very hot, so I made sure the guests drank plenty of water. We moved on to Meiji Shrine, where we could take a break, but Takeshita Street was hot again. After seeing the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, it was time for lunch, and the sushi the guests had requested was available after a short wait to be seated. It was excellent sushi and was very well received. We visited Ueno Toshogu Shrine and then I guided the guests to the Tokyo National Museum, where the tour concluded.

My name is Eiji Kobayashi (Mr.), and I will be your guide during your stay in Tokyo.
    Please call me Koba.
Allow me to introduce myself. I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter of Japan and an expert in Japanese history and culture, and also in nursing and health. I usually work as a Public Health Nurse (PHN) at a Public Health Center in Tokyo, and I hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Additionally, I have a Ph.D. in medical science.
Born in 1957 and raised in Tokyo, I have worked for 33 years mainly in the research and development area for some pharmaceutical companies. Then, I changed my career to nursing and entered a university to obtain a PHN and RN license. I took the Licensed Guide for preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and volunteered in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2021.

Title: What's a Private Winter Day Tour of Sapporo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was a returning visitor from North America who had studied Japanese at a university in Tokyo years ago. This was their eighth trip to Japan, and although they had been visiting almost every year recently, it was their first time in Hokkaido. Since they said they had largely forgotten their Japanese, I guided entirely in English. We had originally planned to visit the Historical Village of Hokkaido, but due to delays on JR trains and buses caused by heavy snow, we switched to sightseeing within the city. After visiting the Clock Tower, the TV Tower, and Nijo Market, we toured the Snow Festival and had lunch at a soup curry restaurant near Maruyama Park. The guest loved curry but had never tried soup curry before and was delighted by it. Afterward, we visited Hokkaido Shrine, where the guest bought many charms. They also purchased original sweets at a Japanese confectionery shop on the shrine grounds. Since the guest wanted to do some shopping in the city, we got off the subway at Odori, where I showed them the department stores and the location of the ramen alley in Susukino before saying goodbye. The weather was clear and the temperature was not too cold, so it seems the guest was able to enjoy comfortable sightseeing.
