Title: What Can You See on a Private Full-Day Walking Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report on Inokashira Park, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, and Shinjuku The tour began with a pickup at the hotel. I showed the guests where to catch the Shinkansen on the JR line, and since the requested course left us with plenty of time, we made an unusual choice to visit Inokashira Park. I explained the geography of the Musashino Plateau, the origins of the Tamagawa Aqueduct, the history behind the name Inokashira and the Kanda River, and why the area is ranked among the top five most livable neighborhoods. I explained that the Benzaiten shrine was depicted in ukiyo-e woodblock prints during the Edo period, and that people had settled in this area since the Jomon period. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, which the guests greatly enjoyed. After that, we took the Inokashira Line to Shibuya, took photos at the Hachiko statue, crossed the famous scramble crossing twice, and headed to Harajuku. At Meiji Shrine we prayed and drew omikuji fortunes, then had a light lunch on the terrace. Afterward, we saw Takeshita Street, Togo Shrine, and other sights, passed through Omotesando, and took the Fukutoshin Line to Shinjuku-sanchome. I had considered Shinjuku Gyoen as well, but the guests felt they had seen enough parks, so we walked through and I explained Golden Gai and Kabukicho before parting ways at Shinjuku Station. One of the guests was collecting stamps, and I assisted with that as well. Overall, the guests were very appreciative. The review card file was left at home, so please obtain the customer feedback through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/).

title: What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like for Older Guests? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from North America and had traveled to Japan about 40 years earlier. The day before, they had toured Kyoto and arrived at their accommodation late at night. Since their lodging was not a hotel but a private rental, I searched for it using the address, but had a hard time finding it. It turned out to be a good decision to arrive a little early. One of the guests had difficulty walking, so we covered the entire itinerary while taking several breaks along the way. At Tokyo Tower, some of the guests chose not to go up and waited at the bottom, and I stayed at the bottom together with the guest who had trouble walking. The guests were interested in history and showed great interest in stories about Edo culture and religion.

I am certified as a Top Guide by the JGA.
Drawing on my past experience as a guide, where I have consistently received positive feedback from guests, I will focus on the following key points in my guiding:
Explain the historical transition from Edo to Tokyo through engaging episodes and stories.
Offer a cross-cultural perspective on why concepts such as honji suijaku (the idea of local deities being manifestations of Buddhist figures), as seen at places like Meiji Shrine, represent a worldview that Japan can be proud of.
Provide warm and humorous interaction, incorporating the spirit of hospitality I learned while studying at Columbia University in the United States.
Use my experience working at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to explain Tokyo’s present-day situation with the support of statistical data.

Title: What Is a Private Cherry Blossom Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nijo Castle, the Imperial Palace, and Arashiyama The guests joined the tour as part of the group, and the trip was arranged as a birthday gift. Because there were several possible destinations, I prepared two itinerary options and let them choose. The cherry blossoms happened to be at their peak, which was an unexpected delight for them, and they were very happy about it. At Nijo Castle and the Kyoto Imperial Palace, they were overwhelmed by the beauty. They repeatedly remarked that these were things they did not have back in North America. At the Imperial Palace, a special opening was being held until today, and they were thrilled to see the kemari costumes and the Shishinden hall up close. In Arashiyama, they thoroughly enjoyed the cherry blossoms and the bamboo grove.

Hello, my name is Mizuho Yoshikawa. Please call me Mizu and my name means rice and water in Japanese.
I’ve been a tour guide more than 200 times since the spring of 2023 in Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Wakayama and Kochi. My tour is always original and new, depending on the guest’s preferences, encounters, seasons and weather.
In Kyoto, one of my tours is to climb Mt. Kurama. It is about 1 hour from the city of Kyoto by train, it is a very quiet and beautiful mountain.
In Osaka, which is called the kitchen of Japan, I am also in charge of food tour.
In Nara, in addition to the Great Budda Hall, I guide guests to the temple with a really great view and Japanese wine, sake tasting.
Every city has a unique charming point.
The motto of my guiding is ” Ichigo Ichie” Once in a lifetime or seize the day. I learn this concept that the moment will never be the same again through tea ceremonies.
I like a tea ceremony that is part of the traditional Japanese culture and embodies the spirit of “omotenashi” or hospitality. Through the tea ceremony, we can feel the spirit of “omotenashi” that has been passed down to us from ancient times.
And I like to travel abroad and domestically, and I have been to 13 overseas countries and most of the prefectures in Japan. Traveling always gives me a new perspective, which is exciting and thrilling. Nowadays, we can learn a lot from the Internet, but traveling teaches us that it is important to have direct experience. When I travel, I feel that my five senses are infinitely expanded, and through my tour, I help all guests to have the same feeling in Japan.
I was born and raised in Kanagawa Prefecture, which is next to Tokyo Prefecture in eastern Japan. When I was little, I could see Mount Fuji from my backyard. There was also a rice field nearby, and I grew up listening to the croaking of frogs. Listening to the frogs and seeing the mountains made me feel very calm.
I moved to the city of Kobe, one of the Kansai areas in western Japan, which includes Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and so on. I’m not from the Kansai area of western Japan, but I think that makes me sensitive to the differences between that area and the Kanto area, Tokyo, where I grew up.
Speaking of Kobe, you might be thinking of Kobe beef. Of course you do. There are also other sake breweries in Nada in Kobe. You can also go from Kobe city to Himeji Castle, also known as the White Egret Castle, which was the first in Japan to be listed as a World Heritage Site in 1993.
Let’s meet and enjoy Japan together!

What Is a Private Day Tour of Hakone Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a family visiting Hakone. When I introduced the traditional puzzle boxes, they mentioned that their guide in Tokyo had told them Hakone had such things, and the group was delighted, saying they had really wanted to visit. Unfortunately, at Owakudani the summit of Mount Fuji was only faintly visible for a moment before it became hidden by clouds. Since it was crowded today, there was an announcement advising visitors to move through the itinerary a little earlier, so we took the pirate ship down earlier than planned. It was also full, but we enjoyed the scenery out on the open deck. At Maruyama Bussan, the president gave a presentation, which delighted everyone, and they did a lot of shopping. At Hakone Shrine, I talked about Shinto, Buddhism, and how these relate to our daily life, which may have served as a little preparation for their upcoming visit to Kyoto.

Can You Do a Private Himeji Castle and Kokoen Garden Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting Japan from Oceania. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private tour of Himeji for the group. After meeting at a hotel near Himeji Station, we visited Castle View, Himeji Castle (the West Bailey and the Hyakken Roka corridor of the Long Passage, and the Main Keep), the Otemon Chaya (for a break), and Kokoen Garden, ending the tour at Kokoen Garden. The guests had purchased a digital ticket covering both Himeji Castle and Kokoen Garden in advance, so entry into Himeji Castle went smoothly. However, because it was a sunny Sunday when the cherry blossoms were in bloom, the Main Keep of Himeji Castle was extremely crowded, and sightseeing took a long time. After touring Kokoen Garden, the tour concluded within Kokoen Garden at the guests' request, and the guests appeared to have thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan while traveling by cruise ship, and I guided them around Yokohama. After meeting them as scheduled at the Osanbashi Cruise Terminal, I led the tour according to the plan arranged in advance. The tour was based on a storyline centered on the history of the opening of the port of Yokohama, and I explained each location while weaving in the role Yokohama played and how it developed after the country opened up, including the roles of the three historic towers of Yokohama and the growth of Chinatown. In Motomachi, the guests went into a local supermarket to purchase items they needed for the ship. From Harbor View Park and the Marine Tower, they enjoyed panoramic views of Yokohama Port, and the tour ended as scheduled.

Title: What Is a Private Cherry Blossom Season Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. They were difficult to reach right up until just before the tour, and I met them at the Hotel this morning. We first confirmed that my proposed itinerary above did not overlap with the two other tours the guests were joining, and then set off. The guests moved at very different paces — some pressing ahead quickly, others taking their time. Amid the crowds of this cherry blossom season, I found myself going back and forth like a shepherd to keep everyone together. During lunch, which was also crowded, the group split up as well, and I waited outside the restaurant. I guided the group who finished eating early to Onitsuka Tiger, then reunited them with the others and led them along Omotesando to the end. I explained about the site of Edo Castle and the Imperial Palace, sent them off by taxi to the Imperial Palace East Gardens, and we parted ways there.

Hello! My name is Hideki Maruyama. I was born in Osaka and raised in the Greater Tokyo area. I obtained my National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter Certificate in February 2016.
I spent 23 years working at a leading Japanese automotive company, including 7 years posted overseas. I then worked for a German premium automotive manufacturer for 13 years, followed by 6 years as an advisor to a British energy company. Through these roles at global corporations, I developed and refined key skills such as:
    1. Cross-cultural communication
    2. A deep understanding of business elites and affluent customers
    3. The ability to deliver impactful and impressive presentations in English
In addition to my regular duties, I often served as an interpreter for top executives during meetings with foreign government officials. I also had opportunities to introduce aspects of Japan—such as our national character and consumer preferences—to leadership teams in both the German and British companies.
As a tour guide, I’ve had the pleasure of guiding guests from a wide range of countries especially after the pandemic, including the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Romania, Slovenia, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Laos, Turkey, Jordan, Kenya and Israel.
When guiding, I always keep in mind to go beyond what guests can find on social media or ChatGPT. I believe my professional background allows me to offer unique insights, and I am encouraged when guests mention this in their reviews

The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and the weather was clear, so many places were quite crowded. The guests were very curious about Japanese culture, traditions, religion, history, the imperial system, and everyday life, exploring enthusiastically and asking many questions. We talked at length about views on religion and about Buddhism and Shinto. Wanting to see as much as possible, the guests chose to eat while walking rather than sitting down at a restaurant, and since they planned to go shopping in Ginza afterward, we parted ways in Ginza.

I have been working as a tour guide for 5years mainly around Tokyo, Kanagawa, for example, Hakone, Kamakura, Yokohama and Kawasaki. I have had an experience of attending a lot of foreign visitors from all over the world in both private and group tours for sightseeing and business in one to multi-days. I’m able to arrange the tour for you, so please feel free to ask me your favorite plan in Japan as to spot, food and some activities. I like to see Buddhist statues in temples so I’d like to introduce our history and culture. Also because I like Japanese animation and character, and animals, I can take you to some shops for the animation and animal cafes that are so popular among tourists. Looking forward to seeing you soon and share wonderful time in Japan! Thank you.

What Is a Private Hiroshima and Miyajima Cherry Blossom Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided a group visiting from Oceania. It was a Sunday with wonderful weather, making it a perfect day for cherry blossom viewing. As crowds were expected, I proposed in advance that we use a shopping center food court if the wait at restaurants was long, and the guests kindly agreed. In the end, we were able to find a restaurant with open seats on Miyajima, but as it was an upscale establishment, lunch took longer than expected. While attending to the guests without rushing them, I adjusted the itinerary by making use of shortcuts, and we were able to reach the Peace Memorial Park without any trouble. Overall, it turned out to be a tour handled with flexibility.

Originally, I’m a cycling guide doing cycling tours all over Japan.
But, already done Hiroshima & Miyajima tour more than 400 times.
I traveled many countries in my younger days. I traveled Europe, US, China, India, US, Mexico, Peru Australia, NZ, and so on.
I decided to use this experience to become a guide.
I’m afraid but no tipping required, because cycling guides are not allowed to have tipping in my association. And you do not need to pay for my lunch, because my lunch is prepared by our group.
Please do not hesitate to ask me anything, I’ll change the plan according to your requests.
Thank you for your understanding and please stay connected.

What Does a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Look Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Covering Meiji Shrine, Tsukiji, and Asakusa The guests were visitors from Europe. The contact details originally provided belonged to a travel agency, and the agency staff shared the guests' messaging app number, after which we communicated directly through the messaging app. Since Omotesando was among their requested spots, we walked to Omotesando Station after visiting Meiji Shrine. As we had time to spare, we also included Takeshita Street. The sushi at Tsukiji was very well received. From Tsukiji we walked to Higashi-Ginza, and I gave a brief explanation of the Kabukiza Theatre. After guiding them through Asakusa at a slightly more leisurely pace, we had nearly reached the scheduled end time, so we parted ways in front of the station.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.
