    Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Sightseeing Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Zojoji, Chidorigafuchi Cherry Blossoms, and Shibuya The guests were visitors currently living in Oceania. They appeared to be seasoned travelers, having come to Tokyo directly from their previous stop in Asia. One of the guests had visited Japan many times before, while the trip marked a first visit to Japan for another in the group. The group was joining a golf-focused tour, with a friend from North America also taking part. Following this Tokyo sightseeing day, they planned to stay in Tokyo while enjoying seven days of golf at courses in nearby Kanagawa and Ibaraki Prefectures, and afterward to spend about four days in Kyoto. Shortly after the tour began, one of the guests asked me for help purchasing some specific cosmetics. At the first destination, a large drugstore near Zojoji Temple, we found the items and purchased two. One was bought duty-free, and the other, intended for use during the stay in Japan, was purchased without the tax exemption. In any case, one of their goals was achieved right away, and they seemed very pleased. When I introduced the Himalayan cedar planted by General Grant at Zojoji Temple, it turned out that the guests had a particularly deep connection to General Grant. The group shared that, having grown up in North America, they had often visited the general's birthplace and childhood home in their youth, as well as places associated with the general when traveling to a neighboring area. They took many photographs, including the scenery combining the temple with Tokyo Tower, the Jizo statues, and the cherry blossoms in full bloom in front of them. When I guided the group to Chidorigafuchi for cherry blossom viewing, they were amazed by the fully blooming cherry trees, and even asked me to confirm the name of the spot and mark it on a map so they could recommend it to their friend arriving from North America the next day. So I marked it on a map I had on hand and gave it to them. As is typical of famous cherry blossom spots, it was quite crowded, though not as much as on weekends. We walked through the path from the Kudanshita side to the Hanzomon side, and headed to our next destination, Shibuya, boarding the Hanzomon Line at Hanzomon Station.

    Before becoming a tour guide, I worked for a major steelmaking company as an engineer for many years. During my career, I lived and worked in both Germany and the United States for a total of five years.     I currently live in Tokyo, but I was born and raised in Kobe, near Osaka, and my family roots are in Kyoto. As a result, I have extensive knowledge not only of Tokyo but also of Kyoto, Osaka, and many other parts of Japan. I enjoy introducing both famous landmarks and hidden local gems that many visitors might otherwise miss.

    What Is a Private Kawagoe Day Tour Like from Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe on an extended independent trip, and they had researched their itinerary very thoroughly, visiting one lesser-known spot after another. Since a vegan option had been requested, I had scouted the only place offering it beforehand and shared the information, and I even made a reservation by phone in the morning. However, the restaurant was so crowded that we were never shown to a table, and the reservation was effectively meaningless. When the guests said a simple café would be fine, I cancelled it. We then looked for restaurants along the way and were able to have lunch without any trouble. One of the guests found walking a little difficult, so they seemed tired toward the end, but they very much enjoyed chatting with me. Because they had reserved train tickets back to their hotel in Tokyo, the morning timing had shifted, and since the return ticket from Omiya was for a 19:00 departure, they said they would stroll around the Kurazukuri (warehouse-style) street before heading back to the station, so we parted ways there. It was extremely crowded, and even the buses were full. I later received a message via a messaging app saying they had been able to switch to an earlier return service, so it seems they made it back safely. I did not take any photos with my own camera, so I am sorry that I cannot upload any.

    What Is a Private Guided Tour of Naoshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. During their stay in Japan, they planned to travel around Tokyo, Naoshima, Takamatsu, Miyajima, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, and Okinawa. They had found Naoshima through an internet search, looking for wonderful local places in Japan. After arriving in Naoshima from Tokyo, they walked about 50 minutes from Miyanoura Port to their hotel, and I was surprised to hear there were some ups and downs along the way. They were a very considerate group, and it was heartwarming to see how close they were. Because they were able to stay at the Benesse hotel, there were many aspects that helped make the tour go smoothly, such as being able to use the shuttle bus reserved for guests (with no worry of being left behind) and being able to walk from their accommodation to the Benesse museum to leisurely explore it at their preferred time in the evening. They were pleasant guests, and I was able to guide them enjoyably throughout the day. The guests also seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

So, I have been a licensed guide for about 5 years. My favorite destinations are Naoshima, Teshima, Ritsurin Garden, the top of Mt. Yashima and so on.     Can You Do a Private Day Trip to Osaka from Kyoto? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests traveled from North America and met me today after taking the JR line from Kyoto to Osaka Station. We first went to Osaka Castle Park. Since they had also visited Nijo Castle in Kyoto, we talked a little about the history of the Tokugawa family along the way, and as we approached Osaka Castle, they were very impressed by the vast castle grounds and the enormous stone walls, outer moat, and inner moat. The cherry blossoms within the castle grounds were also in full bloom, and with the warm temperatures, the guests kept saying how pleasant it felt. They took many photos. At Shitennoji Temple, we discussed the history of Osaka, the introduction of Buddhism, and its relationship with Shinto. At Kuromon Market, they enjoyed eating grilled wagyu beef skewers. After that, we passed through Dotonbori and I saw them back to Osaka Station, where we parted ways.

    Title: What's a Private Shizuoka Cruise-Port Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Miho no Matsubara, Nihondaira, and Cherry Blossoms We met successfully at the port and headed to Miho no Matsubara. After explaining the Path of the Gods, the Hagoromo (feather robe) legend, and the Elena monument, we made our way to Nihondaira. The ropeway was very crowded, but we managed to get on, and we climbed all the way up to Ieyasu's grave at the Toshogu Shrine, where the guests took many photos of the cherry blossoms, the worship hall, and more. Then we visited the Yume Terrace and the statue of Kimi-chan, and returned toward the station through a tunnel of cherry blossoms. Having heard that Funakoshi Park was a famous spot for cherry blossoms, I took the guests there. This place, too, is a hidden gem, and although it was very crowded, the guests thoroughly enjoyed the cherry blossoms in nearly full bloom. Since the guests wanted to eat delicious sushi unique to Shimizu, we went to a sushi restaurant at the Kashi no Ichi market, enjoyed a late lunch, and returned to the port.

    Title: What Can You See on a Private Walking Tour from Akasaka to Meiji Shrine and Harajuku in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private walking tour for guests visiting from Europe. In the pre-tour communication, the guests had said they wished to visit Meiji Shrine and Harajuku (they planned to see Tsukiji and Shinbashi on a separate tour). Based on this, I prepared an itinerary in advance and presented it to the guests, who happily agreed. At the hotel meeting point on the day (note: the meeting point registered in the system, Hotel, had already closed, and the correct location is another Hotel built on its former site — I am very sorry for not updating the meeting point in the system!), we reconfirmed the itinerary and started the tour. The guests had already brought an ICOCA pass on the recommendation of an overseas agency. Touching on the history of Akasaka, I showed them a traditional restaurant associated with Akasaka geisha (exterior only), then guided them to Hie Shrine, where the cherry blossoms were in full bloom (we skipped the main grounds), and the thousand torii gates of Sanno Inari Shrine. It was not yet crowded, so we had plenty of room to take photos. After moving by subway, we took photos of the cherry blossoms at a park near Nogizaka. While introducing the background of the former Nogi Residence, we were captivated by the tranquility of Nogi Shrine. The walkway from the lawn plaza of Tokyo Midtown (today was its anniversary) to the National Art Center, Tokyo was sparsely crowded, and the guests were delighted by the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The cherry blossoms along the road running north to south through Aoyama Cemetery were also at their peak. In the morning the sky was hazy with a blossom-season overcast, but by late morning blue sky appeared and the temperature rose, warm enough to break a sweat while walking. Passing through stylish streets with the Nezu Museum, Yoku Moku Aoyama flagship store, and SunnyHills Minami-Aoyama, we made our way to Omotesando. The guests were puzzled to see a long line at the Jingumae intersection (I looked into it but could not determine its purpose). Takeshita Street in Harajuku, packed with animal cafes, sweets, and more, was as bustling as ever with families on spring break and international visitors, and the guests enjoyed the scene. At Meiji Shrine, the guests offered their prayers, and I introduced its history and religious perspective. After getting coffee to go at the forest cafe, I guided them to Harakado for a lunch recommendation, and we parted with smiles.

    What's a Private Toyosu and Tsukiji Fish Market Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors based in North America. They were traveling on a cruise around East Asian countries, with Tokyo as their departure point in Japan, so they arrived early in the morning at Haneda and headed straight to Toyosu Market, where we met to begin the tour. This was their third visit to Japan. On a previous trip they had visited Tsukiji but were unable to see the tuna auction, so they chose this tour specifically because they wanted to witness it. As one of the guests also enjoys fishing, the group observed the auction with great interest and asked many questions about the different types and structures of tuna. After watching the tuna auction, we toured the general fish auction, followed by the intermediate wholesalers' building. The guests then wished to have breakfast, and since Sushi Dai was already fully booked, we chose the neighboring sushi restaurant instead. They ordered an eight-piece omakase set, steamed clam, and beer, and enjoyed their meal in high spirits while watching the sushi chef prepare each piece right in front of them. We traveled to Tsukiji Market using a charter service arranged by the guests. At Tsukiji, after walking around the outer market, we enjoyed sake at a standing bar on the third floor of the fish market building. We visited Namiyoke Shrine to pray for a safe and healthy journey, had drinks at a matcha stand, and then parted ways at Tsukiji Hongwanji. The guests asked for advice on how to spend the rest of their day, so I recommended a whisky museum in Ginza where one can enjoy whisky tasting, as well as cherry blossom viewing at Chidorigafuchi. The guests were calm, cheerful, and highly intelligent. They told me it had been a wonderful start to their long cruise.

    Title: What's a Private Cherry Blossom Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shinjuku Gyoen and Ueno Park The guests joined this private tour from Oceania. They had arrived in Japan by cruise ship and were scheduled to depart the following day, so they made time to join the tour between their plans. They wished to see cherry blossoms, so I guided them mainly around Shinjuku Gyoen and Ueno Park. Since the guests preferred to move slowly and keep the walking distance short, and because of the heat that day, there were moments when they rested while inside Shinjuku Gyoen and during shopping in Ginza. I also needed to adjust the tour itinerary, such as canceling the originally planned visit to Shibuya, in consideration of the guests' condition. At the end of the tour, the guests told me that the transportation system was complex and it would have been difficult for them to get around on their own, so they were glad they had joined, and that they were happy to have finally seen the cherry blossoms they had longed to see. Their kind words made me very happy as well.

    Can You Do a Private Family-Style Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe, who had arrived in Japan two days earlier. After staying in Tokyo for several days, some of the guests planned to fly home from Haneda Airport, while the others intended to travel on to Kanazawa, Kyoto, and Osaka before returning home. In advance emails, the guests asked for recommendations beyond the planned itinerary. Since some of them were interested in vintage shops, I created and sent a map with a suggested route around Shimokitazawa, which they were very pleased with. On the day, an unplanned visit to an Otter Café was added to enjoy time with the otters, so we skipped Sensoji Temple and moved to Ueno Park instead. One of the guests, who enjoyed photography, happily took photos of the cherry blossoms in full bloom and of the group smiling beneath the trees, using a digital camera popular among young people.
