    What Is a Full-Day Private Nagasaki Cruise Port Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I had been in touch with the guests in advance through a messaging app, so we were able to meet smoothly at the Matsugae International Cruise Terminal. I knew the guests were coming from Europe, and we departed as planned at 10:00. This time, I wanted the guests to get an overall sense of Nagasaki, and since one of the group used an electric wheelchair (they were able to stand and walk for short distances), we discussed it together and decided to visit the barrier-free Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture. This is truly an excellent facility for understanding Nagasaki's history and culture in one place. It has a good selection of videos with English subtitles, and I believe the guests came to understand Nagasaki well. Although the guests followed a particular faith, they watched and listened with interest to the explanations and video presentations related to Christianity. Next, we went to Mount Nabekanmuri, where the guests could see the whole of the Nagasaki city area laid out before them. On the way down from Mount Nabekanmuri, there is the Second Gate of Glover Garden. To reduce the physical strain of moving around, we entered from the Second Gate, which only requires walking downhill through the grounds, and the guests enjoyed the beautiful views and the historic buildings. Along the way, they took a break at an outdoor café. After explaining the episode of the "Discovery of the Hidden Christians" in front of Oura Church, we headed to the Atomic Bomb Museum. Before entering, I showed the guests a copy I carry of the photograph "The Boy Standing by the Crematorium," which appears at the end of the exhibition, and asked them to look at it carefully. It seems everyone did view it, but since photography of the actual photograph on display is prohibited, after finishing the exhibition several of the guests asked to take a photo and photographed the copy I was carrying. Normally, except in bad weather, I have guests walk to Peace Park by way of the hypocenter, but this time we traveled from the Atomic Bomb Museum to Peace Park by car. At Peace Park, the guest using the wheelchair and one other guest who was tired viewed the Peace Statue from the car window and waited in the vehicle. I guided those who were up for it not only to the Peace Statue but also to the monuments donated by various countries and the Fountain of Peace nearby. After leaving Peace Park, we passed near the hypocenter monument and in front of the one-legged torii gate before heading to Dejima. At Dejima, I guided the guests to the miniature Dejima, the archaeology hall, and the Kapitan's Room, and we returned to the Matsugae International Cruise Terminal at 16:00, the scheduled ending time. This was actually my first time guiding a guest in a wheelchair. I took on the challenge hoping it would be a valuable experience, and I managed to complete it without any problems. The day was clear and sunny, and the Peace Statue, in the same blue as the deep blue sky, looked truly striking. We were blessed with good weather, and I believe the guests enjoyed themselves.

Next, in Asakusa, after explaining an overview of the area at the culture and tourism center, we walked from Kaminarimon through the Nakamise shopping street, where the guest enjoyed sampling kibi dango, buying souvenirs, and strolling around, and we paid our respects at the main hall. After lunch, we moved to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, where I talked about the Edo shogunate, the feudal lords, and Edo Castle as we walked, and in the end the guest was deeply impressed by the wonderful scenery of the Japanese garden. After that, we moved to Nihonbashi, took photos at the foot of the bridge, and ended the tour.

At Tsukiji, they chose to skip the sashimi and sushi and instead enjoyed grilled wagyu beef skewers. After the tour, they wished to stroll around Shibuya a little, so we ended the tour there. The tour was relatively short, but the weather was fine, and I believe they enjoyed themselves.

    What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Akihabara The guests were a close and friendly group from North America. It was their third day in Tokyo, and they planned to continue on to Hakone, Osaka, and Hong Kong. They got along so well that it was sometimes tricky to find the right moment to speak, but once we started talking they listened attentively and, given their interest in investing, asked some excellent questions related to the economy. Today was a "Taian" lucky day, and as I had hoped, we were able to see a long wedding procession, which made the guests very happy. In front of the "Meoto Kusu" camphor tree, they had fun striking various poses for photos. Since before arriving in Japan, the guests had wanted to eat sushi at Tsukiji, so I took them to a well-known main sushi restaurant, which turned out to be a great choice. In Asakusa, to avoid the crowds, we walked along less touristy streets to Senso-ji Temple, giving them a taste of the real old-town atmosphere. In Akihabara, the guests already had a specific photo composition in mind, so I guided them to the spot and they were satisfied to get the photos they wanted. The guests wanted to stay in Akihabara to shop and play games, so the tour ended in front of the Radio Kaikan building. Since the guests preferred tap and go over Suica, we used the subway for the entire itinerary.

    What Is a Private Hakone Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Owakudani and Mount Fuji The guests were a group visiting from North America. The tour began with an unexpected situation: due to some mix-up, a planned two-night stay at the same inn could not be arranged, so they had to check in again at a different inn. Because some of the guests used a cane and a walker, I chose a route that relied on elevators and avoided stairs as much as possible. For the guests, this trip was the realization of a long-held dream to visit Japan. Today they were especially moved to see Mount Fuji from Owakudani, and they seemed truly delighted.     Title: What's a Private Kyoto Tour Like With a Licensed Guide? A Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America on their first trip to Japan. The original plan included Sanjusangendo, Kinkaku-ji, and Fushimi Inari, but we ended up visiting only Sanjusangendo and Kinkaku-ji, as time ran short after searching for supplies at a pharmacy and taking shelter from a thunderstorm at Kinkaku-ji. At Sanjusangendo, the guests were deeply moved and enjoyed it very much. Just as we entered Kinkaku-ji, a thunderstorm broke out, and we took shelter for about 45 minutes. Even during that time, there was no shortage of topics to discuss, such as the writing of the Japanese language, and the guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves. At the end, they told me they had a wonderful time.

    What Does a Private Nikko Day Tour Look Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. Their interests were Japanese history, culture, and gardens, and they asked me to choose the actual places to visit. Since they did not mind walking and kept a brisk pace, I first guided them to the Tamozawa Imperial Villa and explained Japanese residential architecture. After having lunch at the tea house there, we went to Toshogu Shrine, the highlight of the day. Having first shown them the simple beauty of Japanese architecture, I then showed them the lavishly decorated Toshogu Shrine, so the guests were very moved by the contrasting beauty. Here I focused on the period from the Edo era to the Meiji era, and also spoke about ways of thinking unique to Japan. As we still had time, we were also able to visit Taiyuin. At the herb garden, they greatly enjoyed the corner where personality is judged by which scents one likes and dislikes. In the Kitano Ijinkan foreign residences area, they savored a soft serve ice cream that had once been selected as the best in Japan by a newspaper, and were very satisfied. They also visited with great interest a Starbucks located in the same Kitano Ijinkan area, which is said to be the only shop in the country housed in a building designated as an Important Cultural Property. I presented them with a handmade drawstring pouch, which they were delighted to receive.     I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
    and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
    foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.
