Can You Do a Private Day Tour of Kyoto's Fushimi Inari and Arashiyama? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America, who had been to Tokyo several times before but were visiting Kyoto for the first time. They planned to see Kyoto today and Osaka the next day. They were bright and cheerful people. One of the guests was at an age where things like taking photos or choosing meals and sweets could be a bit tricky, which reminded me of a certain period in my own family life. Even so, after spending the whole day together, by the end they were laughing and chatting with me warmly. The original plan was to visit Fushimi Inari Taisha, then move to Arashiyama to see representative spots such as the bamboo grove, Jojakko-ji, and Tenryu-ji. However, when we met first thing in the morning, the wishes had changed — some of the guests wanted to go to the monkey park, while another wanted to visit the Philosopher's Path, and we could not settle on where to go. In the end, a decisive word from one of the guests set the plan: Fushimi Inari, then lunch in Arashiyama, then the Togetsukyo Bridge and the monkey park, with everything after that to be decided as we went. At Fushimi Inari, the shopping for torii and fox-themed goods went on endlessly, and in Arashiyama they lined up at a sweets shop, so in the end we only visited two spots. Since it was a private tour, my attitude was: please spend the day exactly as you like, and I will follow you wherever you go — and we had a wonderful time. I love teaching guests the word "ookini," and today's guests took a real liking to it, saying it everywhere in shops and being delighted when the staff smiled. It was funny to see one of the guests, who I had expected to be quite reserved, enthusiastically repeating "ookini." At the monkey park, they enjoyed the baby monkeys and the spectacular view of Kyoto from the summit. In the end, we said goodbye with "ookini" at JR Kyoto Station. I made sure to remind them not to use "ookini" once they returned to Tokyo. After this, they headed to TeamLab BioVortex Kyoto.

Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report For this walking tour, no transportation costs were incurred. During the tour, we walked while I introduced Hiroshima's local foods and the industrial products for which the city holds a top market share. The nijuyaki (a type of filled griddle cake) that I mentioned soon after we met turned out to be sold at the same shop we found at SOGO partway through the tour, so the group enjoyed tasting it together, along with a baumkuchen that originated in Hiroshima. Since the guests also wanted to try okonomiyaki, I introduced several places for it during the tour. Although we were not able to buy the Andersen bread during the tour, the guests were very interested in it and talked about buying it at the station. After visiting the Fukuromachi Elementary School Peace Museum, the guests said, "Thank you for bringing us here."

    Dear guests,
Hello! My name is Miki. I was born and brought up in Hiroshima. I enjoy traveling around Inland Sea areas and I enjoy chatting with guests from overseas!

In Hiroshima, you can see many beautiful rivers and old bridges. Lately, I often take photos of Hiroshima city including bridges and rivers. There are not many tall buildings here, but I know some places you can visit and see the view for free. By the atomic bomb dome, there is a building called Orizuru(paper crane) Tower. You need to pay to go up to the top floor but you can see the view of Hiroshima city and the Miyajima Island(Itsukushima).

Many tourists from overseas as well as Japan want to visit Miyajima Island. You can see a beautiful shrine from Heian Period which is around 12th century and a huge Torii gate in front of the shrine and it is in the water. There are several ways to visit the island from Hiroshima city. If you are going to stay near JR Hiroshima Station, we will visit the island by JR train and JR ferry. If you are staying in the city area, we can go there by streetcar and ferry, or there is a high-speed boat from Peace Memorial Park pier directly to the island and vise versa.

Hoping to see you in the near future!

Title: What's a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour with a Car Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests had switched to a plan with a vehicle in advance of their trip due to a foot injury. I had planned to adjust the itinerary flexibly depending on their condition on the day, but they had recovered more than expected and were able to keep walking at a slow pace, so they were able to enjoy the tour to the fullest. We saw the azalea festival at Nezu Shrine, enjoyed street food and shopping in the Yanaka shopping street, walked the entire Nakamise, and took a tea break at Sumida Park while looking at the Skytree. At their request we also visited the East Gardens, and we were able to see everything without any trouble, so the guests seemed to feel a real sense of accomplishment. They told me many times how much they had enjoyed it, which was a great relief to me as well.

One of the guests wished to visit a shopping mall and left the group at the Peace Memorial Museum, so I guided the remaining guests to Miyajima. The guests seemed to particularly enjoy shopping, and they made a large number of purchases at an anime shop in Miyajima. What Does a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and Senso-ji The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from Europe. After sightseeing in Tokyo, they were planning to go on a cruise tour. At Meiji Shrine, they seemed impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere, which was very different from Shibuya. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with interest to historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo shogunate. At Senso-ji, they listened with interest to explanations about the difference between temples and shrines, as well as the Kaminarimon Gate. The weather was fine today, and since I accommodated the guests' wishes as requested, I believe they were satisfied.

From the moment we met, they were very friendly and conversation flowed naturally. Some of the guests were interested in Japanese culture and others in history, so I received many questions, and while also learning about the culture and language of their home region, it became a warm and enjoyable tour. Since it was a special trip, I took many photos of the guests at scenic spots. As their stay in Hiroshima was only for the day, they wished to see the Peace Memorial Museum as well, so I saw them to the museum entrance and ended the tour there. It was very memorable that one of the guests noticed and picked up litter on the beach at Miyajima. It was an honor to guide these wonderful guests on their special trip.

What Is a Private Miyajima Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group of three visiting from North America. One of the guests had lived in Japan for six years and spoke Japanese well. Since one of the guests could not walk quickly, we moved at a slow, relaxed pace. As soon as we arrived at Miyajima, the guests wanted to try a rickshaw, so I contacted the rickshaw company and waited for the vehicle while the guests looked around the shopping street. I told them I would follow behind, but they kindly said there was an open seat and invited me to ride along, so I got to experience a rickshaw for the very first time in my life. The rickshaw driver was very entertaining and guided in English, and I interpreted for the historical parts when cued. The guests loved photography, and they were delighted to be able to take photos on the rickshaw and to not have to walk. The weather was fine, and they enjoyed the view of Itsukushima Shrine. When I guided them to a less crowded spot, they were pleased and took many photos. They wanted to try various Japanese dishes, so I guided them to a restaurant offering Miyajima specialties and a variety of set meals, which they enjoyed. Since walking to Daishoin was difficult, they decided to skip it this time and instead explore the shopping street, and they seemed to have a wonderful time shopping. In the evening they had a dinner cruise booked from Onoura, so we waited for the train together at Miyajimaguchi and ended the tour. Everyone was very close, and they welcomed me into their circle, making it a day I thoroughly enjoyed together with them.

Can You Do a Private Day Tour of Tsukiji and Asakusa in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was a visitor from North America making a second trip to Japan. I proposed an itinerary focused on two places: Tsukiji, which they had not yet visited, and Asakusa, where they wanted to return because it had been too crowded to shop the previous time. The guest was very interested in Japan and Japanese people, and we chatted throughout, including during travel between locations. They seemed more interested in personal opinions and impressions than in standard guiding commentary. Since it was a Wednesday, Tsukiji was not very crowded, so the guest was able to leisurely purchase souvenirs such as tea and sweets. In Asakusa, we took a coffee break at a Showa-era retro coffee shop and had a parfait set. The guest commented that it was far better than a chain coffee shop.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from Oceania. We were blessed with wonderful weather, and it was a perfect day for exploring the city on foot. During our itinerary discussions beforehand, the guests had said that viewing Japan's beautiful cherry blossoms was one of their life goals, so I was very concerned about whether the cherry blossoms at Shukkeien Garden would still be holding on. Although they were past their peak, the beauty of the cherry blossoms here truly is a special beauty that is second to none. The guests were delighted, and because we visited early in the day, they were able to fully enjoy the garden in a wonderful, uncrowded setting.

    Welcome to Hiroshima.
My name is Hiroshi Tsuji, a licensed guide based in Hiroshima and Miyajima. My family has been connected to Miyajima for more than 300 years, and I am pleased to share the history, culture, and daily life of this unique island with visitors from around the world. Please feel free to call me Hiroshi.
With a background in outdoor sports—including rock climbing, scuba diving, and long-distance triathlons—I have completed several Ironman races abroad. I studied in Kyoto and later worked in management at a publicly listed company, which allowed me to live in many different regions of Japan and develop a deeper understanding of the country’s diverse culture and history.
In Hiroshima, I guide guests through the Peace Memorial Park, including the Atomic Bomb Dome, and share perspectives on the history of Hiroshima and modern Japan.
In Miyajima, I introduce Itsukushima Shrine, Mount Misen, the island’s beautiful scenery, and its local cuisine. As someone whose family has been connected to Miyajima for generations, I also enjoy sharing local insights and experiences that offer a more personal connection to the island’s culture and way of life.
I look forward to welcoming you to Hiroshima and Miyajima.
