Title: What Is a Private One-Day Garden and Cherry Blossom Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. They mentioned that the day after this tour, they would meet friends who were also arriving and join a tour visiting the Nakasendo, Kyoto, and Osaka. That tour, they said, is limited to a maximum of seven participants, accompanied by a specialized Japanese guide who walks the Nakasendo with the group, and offers many opportunities to experience Japanese culture, such as staying at traditional ryokan and enjoying a tea ceremony. The guests seemed to place great importance on appreciating gardens, and their accommodation was a hotel with a magnificent garden, Chinzanso. Having arrived the day before this tour, they appeared to have thoroughly enjoyed the garden both at night and on the morning of the tour day. When we met and exited the grounds of the hotel through the back entrance on the Edogawa Park side, the cherry blossoms along the Kanda River had begun to fall, and they were so moved by the beauty of the petals floating on the water that they took many photographs. We took the subway to the Imperial Palace. Walking from Sakuradamon and admiring the pines of the Imperial Palace Outer Garden, they marveled at the beauty of the pines as well. At Tokyo Station, since the friends who would join them the next day were scheduled to stay at a hotel and wished to have breakfast together, I helped confirm with the staff before guiding them to the platform for the Shinkansen bound for Kyoto. At Hamarikyu, the cherry blossoms were blooming beautifully, which delighted them greatly, but they also paid attention to many other things. They had extensive knowledge, noticing pines, maples, plum blossoms, rapeseed flowers, and daffodils, and even when I introduced a wisteria trellis that had not yet bloomed at all, they imagined the wisteria flowers and were moved — it seemed they had planted various plants and trees in their own garden at home. For lunch, they wanted something simple and chose soba, but ordered it as a set with oyakodon, which they seemed to enjoy very much. Even after finishing the soba, one of the guests savored the broth lovingly, saying it was delicious. At Shinjuku Gyoen, we entered through the Sendagaya Gate and viewed mainly the cherry blossoms, including the cherry orchard, as well as the azaleas that had begun to bloom, and here too they took many photographs. I was a little worried they might be tired, but they wished to extend the time and also visit Meiji Shrine, experiencing a shrine visit for the first time. Furthermore, just as we came out of Meiji Shrine, we encountered some very cute dogs out for a walk. In the morning, the guests, who keep dogs, had said that they "had not seen a single dog since arriving in Japan," but by the end of the day, they ended up meeting many dogs.

Title: What Is a Private Chartered-Car Day Tour of the Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi Area Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Originally the tour was planned to include a visit to Shiraito Falls, but the day before, we received notice that it was outside the designated area, so we changed it to a visit to Oshino Hakkai instead. We were told that any additional cost could be paid afterward, but to avoid complicating things, I did not mention that. At the start, I apologized for any inconvenience caused, and the guests said there was no problem. We did not touch on the matter again after that. Because of the five-minute rotation system for the observation deck at the Chureito Pagoda, which began in April, we waited about 15 minutes before being able to go up to the viewing deck. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and although the very top of Mount Fuji was partly hidden, we were able to see it, and the guests were satisfied. At Oshino Hakkai, they were moved by the beauty of the spring water. At Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, they were impressed by the rows of cedar trees on both sides from the entrance of the approach. I explained various things about Shinto and about climbing Mount Fuji, and they listened enthusiastically. Afterward, at an udon restaurant introduced by the driver, they were surprised to learn that the meat udon used horse meat (so they ordered something else), but everyone said it was delicious as they ate. I believe they were also very interested in and enjoyed the ice cave, the Aokigahara forest trail, and Oishi Park. In the Lake Kawaguchi area (and another area where I guide, Hakone), the bus network is well developed but service runs infrequently, so it is always a struggle; having a chartered vehicle arranged makes things vastly easier. I would also like to add that the driver from the transportation company was very considerate in many ways, which I greatly appreciated as a guide.

I have worked as a diplomat for 48 years until last year(2024), so I think I am good at explaining anything about Japan in English. Though I’m a novice as tour guide, l promise that I will make detailed and thorough preparations for guiding you and to make your trip smooth and enjoyable. I myself like to experience various means of transportation and interested in local culture, history and food. You may be a bit concerned about my age(71 years old), but I am quite fit for work. Just to prove this I wish to say that I played 5 rounds of golf this summer month of August, 2025.

What Is a Private Full-Day Tour of Arashiyama and Kyoto Temples Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe. The day before, they had explored Kifune and Kurama-dera, and today they wished to take their time strolling through Arashiyama and Sagano. At Tenryu-ji, they entered not only the garden but also the buildings, and we walked through slowly while I explained the highlights. The bamboo grove was especially beautiful, with the greenery glowing after the rain. What they looked forward to most was Otagi Nenbutsu-ji, where they photographed many of the uniquely expressive rakan statues. The moss at Gio-ji was also lovely, and they took many photos there as well. The final stop, Kinkaku-ji at dusk, was exceptionally beautiful, and they were deeply moved by it. I believe they truly enjoyed the day.

What Can You See on a 4-Hour Private Yokohama Tour from the Cruise Terminal? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided a lively group visiting from North America on a private tour of Yokohama. It was a 4-hour tour scheduled between the ship's morning arrival at Osanbashi Pier and its afternoon departure from the same pier. At the meeting point, the guests were not sure what time they needed to return to the ship, so we checked and confirmed that they had to be back by 2:00. Since taking a bus to Sankeien Garden would have left time for only about one other stop, I suggested using a taxi, and they agreed. Although it was a windy and chilly day, the clear skies made the flowers and greenery of Sankeien Garden very beautiful, which the guests greatly enjoyed. One of the guests was an artist, so many photos were taken. The Old Yanohara House was still under repair, so it was not possible to go inside or even see its exterior. Because I had heard beforehand that they wanted to see works by local artists, I took them to a gallery in Motomachi that I had found during my advance scouting; they did not make a purchase, but they were very pleased. Afterward, we passed through Chinatown and went to Yamashita Park, where a horticultural exhibition happened to be taking place, and again many photos were taken. The guests liked the handmade glass earrings I was wearing, so I took them to a shop at the Red Brick Warehouse, where a birthday gift was purchased as a present. Blessed with fine weather, the guests said they were very satisfied, and I believe it turned out to be a wonderful tour.

Hello!! I’m Takako. Thank you for seeing my page. I’ve been showing guests around Tokyo, Yokohama and Kamakura for over six years. There are various things from historic sites, shrines and temples to cultural spots, good restaurants and anime shops in Japan.
I love watching sumo wrestling, Japanese traditional sport.
My favorite place is Tsukiji food market. It’s really exciting and you can enjoy a variety of delicious foods.
I also like visiting Japanese gardens such as Hama-rikyu Gardens and Rikugien Gardens.
Please let me know what interests you.
I would be happy to make a suitable tour for you and help you stay in Japan comfortably.

Title: What's a Private Cruise Excursion to Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Park Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests joined the tour from Europe, arriving in Japan by cruise ship. Since they did not particularly enjoy waiting in lines, we focused mainly on less crowded spots during the sightseeing. They especially liked Daisho-in Temple, where they added candles on which wishes are written. As they did not need lunch, I instead guided them to a café on Miyajima. Title: What Is a Private Miyajima and Peace Memorial Park Tour in Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, traveling in Japan and combining a cruise into their itinerary to also enjoy the flavor of Japan's regional culture. At the morning meeting, I was informed that the tour might need to be shortened that day. Based on the guests' wishes, we decided to first visit Miyajima and then return to the Peace Memorial Park. Since one of the guests was clearly not feeling well and had a persistent cough, I guided them at a relaxed pace on Miyajima. After that, we had a café break and lunch, and at the Peace Memorial Park we wrapped up early, finishing the tour considerably earlier than originally planned.

What Is a Private Kyoto Maiko Dinner Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America, and since it was a very cold day, they preferred to travel by taxi. As we could not find a six-seater taxi, we went by train and arrived just in time at 6:25 pm, where the proprietress welcomed us. The guests were satisfied with the meal and told me that although they had tried many foods since arriving in Japan, they had come to love Japanese cuisine even more. They watched the maiko's dance with great interest and recorded a video, kindly assuring me that they would not post it online. They also enjoyed playing games with the maiko. Title: What's a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Before a Cruise Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Body: [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guides led a private one-day tour of Kyoto for guests visiting from North America. In the taxi, the guests had a lively conversation about topics such as Kobe beef, sports, sightseeing in Tokyo, and more. At the first stop, Fushimi Inari Taisha, there was some light rain, but fortunately the rain stopped by the time we reached Nijo Castle and continued to hold off afterward. For lunch, the guests ordered tempura udon and a tempura rice bowl. We admired the beautiful flowers in bloom at Tenryu-ji Temple. The driver mentioned that leaving Kinkaku-ji at 17:00 could lead to traffic congestion and a late return, so he requested that we depart by 16:40 at the latest. I explained the possibility of traffic congestion to the guests, and they kindly agreed. In the end, there was no congestion at all, we were able to drive smoothly along the expressway, and we arrived at the port terminal by 18:00.

Title: What Is a Full-Day Private Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America who had been longtime friends. Since we started at 8:00, we were able to enter the Peace Memorial Museum during the early-morning reserved time slot, and the guests took their time viewing the exhibits in a quiet, calm atmosphere. They told me they had come to Hiroshima because they wanted to learn about the city's history and to see how Hiroshima has moved forward toward peace, which I found very meaningful. For lunch, the guests enjoyed okonomiyaki and oysters on Miyajima. Afterward, I guided them to Itsukushima Shrine at high tide. As one of the guests was tired and had some pain in their foot, we all sat down to rest, and once they felt better, we returned to Hiroshima City. I then guided them to Shukkeien Garden. They told me it was their favorite garden, which made me very happy.

Hello, and thank you very much for choosing Hiroshima for your visit!
My name is Naomi Ueno, and I am a licensed English-speaking guide based in Hiroshima. I was born and raised here. I now live in the northern part of Hiroshima City with my husband, as my children have become independent and married. Please leave everything about Hiroshima to me—I’ll be happy to show you my hometown and share its stories, culture, and spirit with you.
Hiroshima has two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Atomic Bomb Dome in Peace Memorial Park and the scenic Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island. Both are very impressive and well worth visiting. The city also has many other wonderful places to explore, and Hiroshima is known for its delicious local foods. Our most famous specialty is “okonomiyaki,” often described as a savory Japanese-style pancake or pizza. I hope you will enjoy Hiroshima—its beautiful places, nature, and flavors.
I became a licensed Hiroshima Prefectural Interpreter Guide in 2022 and passed the National Government Licensed Guide Exam in 2023. I began working professionally as a guide afew years ago. Before that, I worked for many years as an English teacher at junior and senior high schools. I truly enjoy communicating with people and explaining things in a clear and easy-to-understand way. I still teach part-time twice a week at a local school, which allows me to stay active in education and continue connecting with younger generations.
My friends and fellow guides often tell me that I have a friendly personality and can connect easily with guests. I love hearing about their countries, families, and travel experiences. Having gone through various stages in life—career, parenting, and family events—I find it natural to understand and relate to people from different backgrounds.
Traveling has always been one of my greatest passions. I enjoy exploring new destinations both in Japan and abroad, and I often share travel stories with guests that make tours lively and personal. Studying for the guide exams gave me a deeper appreciation for Japanese history, culture, and traditions, and I enjoy sharing these topics in a warm and engaging way.
When I was a student, I studied in the United States, and have also traveled to several other countries. During those experiences, I received great kindness and hospitality from local people. Those memories inspired me to give something back by helping visitors enjoy their time in Japan.
As a guide, I hope to create enjoyable, comfortable, and memorable experiences for each guest by offering warm hospitality and accurate information. Although I’m still a relatively new professional guide, I am passionate about this work. Let’s create your ideal trip together—a journey designed just for you. I look forward to meeting you and guiding you through Hiroshima.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Kanazawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from Europe. They travel abroad every year, and this was their first trip to Japan. Despite the cherry blossoms being in full bloom for spring, the tour took place under the worst conditions, with a high temperature of only 9 degrees and occasional rain. Nevertheless, we were able to visit all the planned locations and the guests enjoyed themselves. When the rain grew heavier partway through the tour, we took a tea break at a Japanese sweets shop serving fruit mochi in the Higashi Chaya District, and the guests appreciated being able to relax there. We ended the tour in the Nagamachi samurai district when time ran out.
