What Is a Private Hakone Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Owakudani and Mount Fuji
The guests were a group visiting from North America. The tour began with an unexpected situation: due to some mix-up, a planned two-night stay at the same inn could not be arranged, so they had to check in again at a different inn. Because some of the guests used a cane and a walker, I chose a route that relied on elevators and avoided stairs as much as possible.
For the guests, this trip was the realization of a long-held dream to visit Japan. Today they were especially moved to see Mount Fuji from Owakudani, and they seemed truly delighted.
At the end, I took them to the Hakone Glass Forest Museum. The weather was fine, and inside they were even able to listen to a concert. They highly praised the experience, saying the views and atmosphere exceeded their expectations.
By a remarkable coincidence, it turned out that one of the guests and I had once worked very close to each other in the same field, so the mood throughout the tour was warm and relaxed from beginning to end.

Highly recommend this tour for first time visit to Tokyo. Our guide Atsushi took great care to acclimate us with navigating through busy train stations efficiently with a group of eight family members. Along the way and at each site he explained various cultural practices and associated histories that made the tour very immersive and enjoyable. Atsushi-san was an incredibly well-researched and friendly tour guide. His knowledge allowed us to explore and get to the historical significance of the various locations we visited. His explanations were simple but comprehensive. The six hours flew by and included some off-the-beaten opportunities including coffee at a very austere but memorable location near the fish market. I would highly recommend him as well as this tour for anyone with limited time in Tokyo wanting see as much as possible

Our guide, Atsushi, was great! He met us at our hotel in Hakone and took us clockwise to tour all the sites. He was informative and taught us a lot. Our group was two adults and a 14 year old. We saw Mt Fuji from the rope way, but unfortunately the pirate ship was canceled because of high wind. We would absolutely use Atsushi again for this tour, or any other tour he provides.
