    Tour Title: What's a Private Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Takeshita Street Day Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were senior travelers visiting Japan from North America. One of the guests enjoyed photography and took time at every stop to capture many photos. At the Tsukiji Outer Market, I guided them to a sushi restaurant where a young chef prepared sushi right in front of them, and they enjoyed both the sushi and taking many photos of the chef at work. In the car, there were questions throughout about the differences in the cityscapes between North America and Tokyo. Since I previously worked in a construction-related field, I was able to explain Tokyo's earthquake-resistant structures and urban development regulations, which they appreciated. They were surprised by the crowds in Asakusa, but still enjoyed taking many photos even among the crowds. They drew a "good fortune" omikuji and happily tucked the lucky slip into their wallet. On Takeshita Street, they were amazed by the many animal cafes (featuring ferrets, capybaras, piglets, cats, and more). The guests were very fond of conversation, so we were able to talk a great deal both in the car and while strolling, making it an enjoyable tour for me as a guide as well. A notable stop on the tour was Asakusa. Asakusa is one of Tokyo's most historic districts, home to Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, founded in the 7th century. The approach to the temple, known as Nakamise-dori, is lined with traditional shops selling snacks and souvenirs, and the iconic Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) with its giant red lantern is one of Tokyo's most recognizable landmarks.

    Title: What Is a Private Peace Park and Shukkeien Garden Tour in Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report This was my first time guiding guests from Africa. The guests were very warm-hearted and intelligent, with a particularly strong interest in peace. I was impressed by how much they loved Japan and how thoroughly they had researched it beforehand. We were lucky that the Peace Memorial Park was only moderately crowded, though they were surprised by how busy it was inside the museum. They had also enjoyed Kenrokuen Garden in Kanazawa and Kyoto, but they seemed especially fond of Shukkeien Garden, saying it was "the best they had ever seen," which both surprised and delighted me. It was a very happy time for me as well. Thank you so much! A notable stop on the tour was Shukkeien Garden in Hiroshima. Shukkeien is a historic Japanese garden whose name means "shrunken-scenery garden," reflecting how it recreates miniature versions of famous landscapes and natural scenes within its grounds. Originally created in the early 17th century, the garden features a central pond, winding paths, arched bridges, and carefully arranged plantings that change beautifully with the seasons. Visitors can stroll along the circular route to enjoy teahouses, koi-filled waters, and tranquil views that make it one of the most beloved traditional gardens in the region.

    Title: What's a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo's Asakusa, Yanaka, and the Imperial Palace Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from Europe who had arrived in Japan the day before and were on a trip of about two weeks, planning to visit Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and other places after Tokyo. It was the first visit to Japan for everyone in the group. I guided them around Asakusa/Senso-ji Temple, Yanaka, Nezu Shrine, the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, and the Imperial Palace Outer Garden. They were a very friendly group, and we were able to enjoy pleasant conversation with some jokes along the way. They listened attentively to the explanations at each spot and asked a variety of questions, mainly about history and culture. The weather was good, and they seemed satisfied with all of the places we visited. For lunch, I offered several options, and since they preferred udon, we went to Kamachiku in Nezu. We arrived after 1:00 p.m., and since it was a public holiday it was crowded, so we had to wait a little. However, the turnover was quick, so the wait was not very long, and they were delighted that the food itself was very delicious. The plan was to finish by going around Yurakucho, but once we arrived in Yurakucho, the guests mentioned that they wanted to go have a drink and that it was fine to end the tour there. They agreed to finishing earlier than the scheduled time, and the tour came to an end.

    Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Tour of Kinkaku-ji and Ryoan-ji Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a friendly group. While the meeting was delayed, I explained the tour itinerary to one of the guests, and when I asked what they would like to do after visiting the final stop, Ryoan-ji Temple, they said they wanted to buy souvenirs and do some other shopping. So I suggested returning to Shijo Kawaramachi after Ryoan-ji. At the first stop, Kinkaku-ji Temple, the guests were both delighted by its beauty. After the visit, souvenirs were purchased at a shop. Next we went to Ryoan-ji Temple, and one of the guests seemed to prefer the calm atmosphere of Ryoan-ji over Kinkaku-ji. After the visit, one of the guests asked whether they could have a meal in the area, and I mentioned that there were nearby restaurants serving soba and tempura, but since the preference was for beef and yakitori, we decided to return to Shijo Kawaramachi. I took the guests to the Shinkyogoku Arcade and the Teramachi Arcade, introduced the many restaurants and various shops there, and mentioned that Nishiki Market was also nearby, and we said goodbye in front of the arcade. It seems the guests enjoyed the tour. A notable stop on the tour was Ryoan-ji Temple, a Zen temple in Kyoto famous for its rock garden, one of the most celebrated examples of Japanese dry landscape gardening. The garden consists of fifteen stones arranged on a bed of white gravel, and it is designed so that not all of the stones can be seen at once from any single viewpoint. The temple is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is admired for its tranquil and contemplative atmosphere.

    My name is Hiroki Muramoto, please call me Hiro.
    Hiro in Japanese means large or big. Although I’m neither large nor big, you can call me Hiro. How are you doing ?
    I lived in a city nearby Kobe city. Do you know Kobe ? Kobe is famous for Kobe beef and pearl. If you have not yet had Kobe beef, you should taste the authentic Kobe beef. It is very satisfying taste. But I have recently moved to a city in Kyoto prefecture, so I can be in Kyoto city in about one hour. By the way, I am a family of four. I have a son and a daughter. My son now works in Tokyo. I sometimes go to Tokyo to see him. Tokyo is a huge city, but too crowded, so it seems not to suit me. I seem to be better suited to a small city than a big one. Where do you live in ? How many families do you have ? If you like, please tell me about them. I worked in the quality assurance department of a pharmaceutical company and visited the factories of foreign affiliated companies, so I became interested in foreign cultures and obtained a qualification as an interpreter guide in 2015.

    I have been a guide for about eight years. During that time, I have guided in Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Nara, Kochi and so on, although I could do little guiding work between 2020 and 2022 due to COVID-19. However, since last year, my guiding work has been back! So, I am happy to be able to meet different people again. My hobby is travelling, but sadly, I am not in a position to travel abroad easily at the moment due to the very weak yen, and I hope to travel abroad again when the situation eases a bit more.
    How many countries have you been to so far ? Which countries have you liked so far? Another hobby is watching sports – baseball and football. Do you like the baseball ? Do you know Otani, Japanese baseball player ? He has joined Dodgers in Los Angeles this year. I look forward to another successful year for Otani.

    By the way, what interests you in Japan? Food, history, scenery ? As far as tourist attractions are concerned, famous places are too crowded. If you like, I also would like to show you some less crowded places. Are you interested in experiencing something ? If you want to experience something, I can suggest an experience plan for you. If so, please contact me as early as possible. As for food, what kind of food do you like? There are many kinds of delicious food. Of course, you can get good food in fine restaurants, but you can also get good food in downtown restaurants. If you like alcohol, why don’t you try Japanese sake? It can range from light and fragrant to rich in flavor, so you’re sure to find a Japanese sake you like.

    My motto is “Be content with life.” However, I find myself complaining all the time. If you like, please tell me your motto. I want to treat all guests who visit Japan with the spirit of “Treasure every encounter” and guide them so that they can enjoy themselves and have good memories of Japan.

    Private Tokyo Tour Report: What Does a Full-Day Walking Tour of the East Gardens, Koishikawa Korakuen, and Meiji Shrine Look Like? The guests were visitors from North America, visiting Japan for the first time. They were highly knowledgeable and curious, which meant I made full use of my guiding knowledge throughout the day. Although they did not appear to be used to walking much on a regular basis, they walked the entire day and enthusiastically explored each destination. At the East Gardens, I was impressed by the depth of plant knowledge shown, and the guests clearly chose exactly what they wanted to see. At Koishikawa Korakuen, they admired the beauty of the garden and took many photographs. At lunch, they watched the hand movements of the sushi chef at a casual restaurant and seemed very pleased. They took one break at a coffee shop before and one after our final stop at Meiji Shrine. I believe they were very satisfied with the day. A notable stop on the tour was Meiji Shrine. Meiji Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in central Tokyo, dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Surrounded by a large forest of around 100,000 trees donated from across Japan, it offers a peaceful retreat from the surrounding city. The shrine is one of the most visited in Japan, particularly during the New Year period, and its spacious grounds and towering torii gates make it a popular destination for visitors seeking to experience traditional Japanese culture.

After meeting at Himeji Station, they stored their luggage at a nearby facility and walked along Otemae Street toward Himeji Castle. Today's guests requested an explanation in a Q&A format rather than a lecture style, so we walked to Otemae Park while asking questions such as "Why was a castle needed in Himeji?" and "How would enemies attack this castle?" There was an antique market there, and the guests suddenly came to a halt. It turned out to be a tour that took more time than anticipated, but the guests were delighted. In Akihabara, one of the guests showed great interest in the anime shops. After doing some shopping in Shinjuku, the guests mentioned that they could return to their hotel on their own, so we parted ways in Shinjuku. Since I accommodated the guests' wishes as requested, I believe they were satisfied. A notable stop on the tour was Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. Senso-ji is Tokyo's oldest temple, founded in the seventh century, and it is one of the most visited Buddhist temples in the world. Visitors pass through the iconic Kaminarimon Gate, with its enormous red lantern, and walk along the lively Nakamise shopping street leading to the main hall, where traditional crafts and snacks have been sold for centuries.

    What's a Private Day Tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They were a very lively group, and we had plenty to talk about from the moment we met. We first went to Miyajima, but because of the high spring tide, we could not enter Itsukushima Shrine, so we visited Daisho-in Temple first. By the time we returned from Daisho-in, Itsukushima Shrine had become accessible, but there was a very long line to buy tickets. Since the guests said they did not need to go in, they enjoyed beer and grilled oysters along the main shopping street instead. They were also very pleased with the okonomiyaki we had for lunch. At the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, they listened earnestly to the explanations. Although the museum was very crowded, they took their time to look around thoroughly. At the end, they told me they had a wonderful time, which was a great relief. A notable stop on the tour was the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The park was established in memory of the victims of the atomic bombing of 1945 and stands as a symbol of the hope for lasting peace. It is home to the Atomic Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the Peace Memorial Museum, which preserves records and belongings that convey the events of that day to visitors from around the world.

    Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Gion, Sushi, and Kinkaku-ji The guests were visitors from North America. The originally planned visit to the Fushimi sake breweries had already been done by the guests themselves the day before, so they requested Gion instead, and I adjusted and changed the plan on the morning of the tour. They enjoyed shopping at various places, and I guided them to shops they wished to visit for items such as tea and kitchen knives. For lunch they requested sushi and enjoyed ordering a variety of toppings. Because we walked quite a lot and the temperature was high, they seemed a little tired toward the end. For that reason, after finishing at Kinkaku-ji, they returned to the Hotel by taxi. A notable stop on the tour was Kinkaku-ji Temple in Kyoto. Kinkaku-ji, also known as the Golden Pavilion, is a Zen Buddhist temple whose top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf. Originally built in the late 14th century as a retirement villa for a shogun, it was later converted into a temple and remains one of Kyoto's most iconic landmarks, beautifully reflected in the pond that surrounds it.

Since we would be walking quite a long distance before taking the subway, I thought a break along the way might be needed, but the guests said they were fine and kept walking. Located in Maruyama Park in Sapporo, Hokkaido Shrine is one of the most important Shinto shrines in northern Japan, enshrining several deities along with the spirit of Emperor Meiji. The shrine grounds are surrounded by nature and are especially known for their cherry blossoms in spring, making it a peaceful and scenic place to experience Japanese spiritual culture throughout the year.
