    Title: What Is a Private Family Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Skytree, and Shibuya The guests were a group visiting from South America, most of whom were in Japan for the first time. One member of the group was a big fan of Japan. The person who took the lead in engaging with me as the guide was one of the guests, who was especially enthusiastic. In fact, more than fifteen years earlier, one of the group had stayed in Japan for three months as a JICA trainee, and having grown up hearing stories about Japan, the guests developed a strong interest in the country, with a longstanding promise to travel here one day. They had already visited Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Mount Fuji, and the day before they had been to Tokyo Disney Resort. Although they had come from a place with a reversed day-night cycle, their jet lag had already resolved. However, since it was going to be an extremely hot day, we took heat-stroke precautions by avoiding walking outside as much as possible and paying careful attention to staying hydrated as we proceeded with the tour. With a 1:00 p.m. reservation for Tokyo Skytree in mind, we began with sightseeing in Asakusa. Along Nakamise Street they enjoyed ningyo-yaki and matcha, and for souvenirs they purchased items such as a maneki-neko and chopsticks. At Solamachi, they also enjoyed shopping for cute character goods that they loved. From the observation deck, they were delighted to be able to identify the location of Tokyo Disneyland, which they had visited the previous day. After sightseeing in Shibuya, they continued to enjoy shopping there before heading back to the hotel. As they had wanted to buy Japanese wine as a souvenir, I guided them to a shop where they could purchase it, and we said our goodbyes there.

    What Is a Private Castle Tour in Japan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests came to Japan very much looking forward to the trip. I guided them around, giving detailed explanations of the most interesting spots. They listened attentively, even memorizing many family crests. The heat and humidity were intense, but I guided them over time while adding jokes and taking breaks along the way. During the tour we enjoyed ourselves, including taking photos with a ninja performer. They asked many insightful questions, and I believe they were able to get a real sense of the era of the castle.

    What Is a Private Koyasan Day Trip from Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report 1. The group gathered and it was decided that three taxis would depart at the same time, with six of the guests riding in my taxi. 2. In the taxi I introduced Koyasan as a sacred site of Buddhism, but the guests did not seem to be familiar with Koyasan at all. 3. After arriving at the Danjo Garan complex, the three groups were guided separately. 4. At the guests' request, all of the group had lunch together (at a restaurant called Hanabishi). 5. We started to head toward Okunoin, but since some of the guests did not feel comfortable walking through a cemetery, we turned back partway and decided to return to Osaka. Some of the guests from another group also joined, and eight of us headed to the hotel. 6. After arriving at the hotel, some of the guests wanted to go shopping, so I guided them to the Daimaru department store in Shinsaibashi, and the tour ended.

    What's a Private Kyoto Sightseeing Tour Like for First-Time Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan from South America. Since a young child was part of the group and was sometimes carried in a stroller, moving around took some extra time, though it was not particularly difficult to manage. Some of the guests understood English while others spoke very little English, so those who understood English often helped by interpreting for the rest of the group. Rather than learning about Japanese history in depth, they preferred to see the main sightseeing spots at a relaxed but efficient pace. After visiting Nijo Castle, the guests wanted to do some shopping in an air-conditioned area, so I guided them toward the Shinkyogoku area, which has many department stores and souvenir shops, where the tour ended. The photo was taken at the sushi restaurant where we had lunch.

    What Is a Private Full-Day Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya The guests were visitors from Europe who were traveling in Japan. They were very interested in Japanese culture and history, listening attentively to the explanations and asking many questions. We discussed the destinations in advance by email and centered the itinerary around Asakusa and Meiji Shrine. Walking outside in the heat was demanding, but Tokyo Tower and Azabudai Hills were a great help as places to cool off. At Azabudai Hills, there were many lunch spots in Garden Plaza B and on the third floor of Tower Plaza, so the guests were able to choose a restaurant they liked. At the end, the guests wanted to visit the Shibuya crossing, so I explained how to get there and we parted ways at Harajuku Station.

    Title: What Is a Private Hakone Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Lake Ashi and Owakudani The meeting-point hotel appeared to allow only guests inside, but the guests came to the parking area before the scheduled time, so we were able to meet up without any trouble. I had been told in advance that one of the guests could not walk long distances, and another member of the group constantly used a cane and seemed to find walking difficult. This time the guests had arranged a vehicle themselves, which was a great help. When there were sections where we had to walk, I made sure not to let too much distance open up within the group. Because the hotel was right next to Motohakone Port, we were able to board the first pirate ship of the day and I could guide everyone with plenty of time to spare. However, the group turned out to love shopping more than I expected, and we spent quite a lot of time at the souvenir shops in Hakone-Yumoto and Owakudani. On a normal tour without a vehicle, managing the schedule might have been a challenge. For lunch I chose a popular soba restaurant, and we were able to get a table without much of a wait. To let the guests enjoy the views, we took the pirate ship on Lake Ashi and rode the ropeway between Owakudani Station and Sounzan Station. I have attached the receipts for the pirate ship and the ropeway.

    Private Family Kyoto Day Tour with a Licensed Guide: Fushimi Inari, Gion, and Nijo Castle Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Since they did not use IC transit cards, we bought individual tickets each time we moved between locations. Because we started early in the morning, Fushimi Inari Taisha was pleasantly uncrowded, though the sound of the cicadas was quite loud. Here, the guests purchased souvenirs including a festival lantern and torii-shaped ema plaques. Around the time we strolled through Gion, it gradually began to get hotter. There was little shade, and some of the guests grew tired and started sitting down on the road, so we wrapped things up promptly and headed to Nijo Castle. At Nijo Castle, one of the guests had apparently watched a documentary about the castle on a streaming service and already knew many things about the Ninomaru Palace. At the guests' request, we skipped the Ninomaru Garden. Since I had been informed of the guests' dietary requirements, for lunch I guided them to a restaurant specializing in chicken dishes and we parted ways in front of the restaurant.

    What Can You See on a 4-Hour Rainy-Day Private Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report Because it was rainy that day, I first took the guests to the indoor Fukagawa Edo Museum. Since the guests had expressed an interest in Japanese history, I brought them to this museum, which recreates the everyday life of ordinary people during the Edo period, and they showed great interest as I explained it. The guests were very pleased to imagine what life was like in the 17th century by touching Japanese houses and furniture that was actually used at the time, and by experiencing hands-on the weight of an iron kettle, the weight of a rice pot lid, and the weight of a mallet used for pounding mochi. In Asakusa, the guests seemed to enjoy the ningyo-yaki cakes. After visiting the temple, they also found the Shinto-style worship at a shrine very interesting and took part in it. Afterwards, I took them to the East Gardens, where the tour concluded. It was a 4-hour tour, and I believe the guests were very satisfied.

    Tokyo Private Tour Report: What Can You See on a Custom One-Day Tokyo Tour with a Licensed Guide? The guests were visitors from North America. Based on our advance communication, we had planned to visit Asakusa, the Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, and Harajuku, but when we met, they told me that they had joined a bus tour the previous day and had already been to Asakusa and the Imperial Palace. Instead, since they enjoyed plants, we decided to visit Hamarikyu Gardens, and since one of the guests was interested in art and crafts, we also planned to visit the Traditional Crafts Aoyama Square. At Hamarikyu Gardens it was between flowering seasons, but they were able to see a little wisteria and iris. Moving along the fine gravel paths presented some difficulty, though they managed. They viewed the tidal pond and the tea house, and enjoyed some ice cream at the flower and tree garden. When I brought up Meiji Shrine while on the platform at Shiodome Station, they said they had been there the day before and kindly showed me their itinerary. Since it was just about lunchtime, we decided to see the market at Tsukiji before having lunch, so we headed to Tsukiji Market. Unfortunately, it seemed difficult to fully enjoy the Tsukiji shops. As they wanted to have tempura, we went to Tsukiji Uogashi, where one of the guests had a tempura rice bowl and the other had tonkatsu. When we discussed the afternoon plans, they said they were tired and wanted to return to the hotel early to rest, so I took them back to the hotel earlier than scheduled and ended the tour. As it was hot and getting around had been demanding, I was concerned that they both seemed tired, but once we arrived at the hotel they said they wanted to take a photo with me in the lobby and seemed to have recovered their energy, which was a relief.     Title: What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Cruise-Port Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were very pleased with the sightseeing at Miyajima. They repeatedly remarked how beautiful and peaceful everywhere was. They also thoroughly enjoyed the oysters and momiji manju. Some of the guests had long wanted to come to Japan, and this cruise tour made a dream come true. Some of the guests had also visited Japan 15 years earlier and were amazed at how much it had changed. It was everyone's first visit to Hiroshima this time. At Miyajima, the timing coincided perfectly with the low tide and the incoming high tide, so on the way there we were able to walk out to the torii gate, and on the way back, as the seawater came in, we could see the torii gate floating on the water. The guests were deeply moved by that sight. Please note that there was an error in the meeting point listed in the tour information. It was not Ujina Port but Itsukaichi Port.
