A Licensed Guide's Report Some of the guests were unable to join the tour due to tiredness, so the tour proceeded with the rest of the group. Since they had requested conveyor-belt sushi for lunch in advance, it was easy to incorporate into the itinerary, and I chose a place that serves delicious sushi. They had agreed to a late lunch, but unfortunately it rained, so travel took a little longer than planned, and we arrived about 30 minutes later than the scheduled lunch time. Even so, the guests were delighted, ordered cheerfully, and were very pleased, saying it was the best because it was cheap and delicious. Since some of the guests seemed tired, we decided to return to the Hotel by bus, which took longer but allowed them to sit comfortably. As we parted, they said, "Today's tour itinerary was very rewarding and the lunch spot was wonderful. This would not have been possible without our guide. We will never forget how much fun today was. Thank you."

    タイトル: What's a Private Day Trip from Kyoto to Hiroshima and Miyajima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report 本文: The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. They toured Osaka and Kyoto, and on this day made a day trip from Kyoto. Since they had said they wanted to visit Hiroshima Castle, I guided them to Hiroshima Castle and the Peace Memorial Park, and after lunch we headed to Miyajima. The group was very sporty, and one of them, who does triathlons, walked barefoot along the sandy beach and the water's edge, and when they asked me the distance to Miyajima and I answered, they surprised me by replying that they could easily swim there. We talked about sports the whole time and had a great time. They had also consulted me in advance about their return Shinkansen, so I made sure to head back to Hiroshima Station with a bit of time to spare to match that departure. However, the mobile Wi-Fi reception at the Shinkansen entrance was poor, and the QR code screen for the online reservation would not display, which caused a considerable delay at the ticket gate, so I hurriedly led them to the platform. I was truly relieved when I saw them off on the Shinkansen.

    Title: What Is a 4-Hour Private Kyoto Temple and Garden Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Kyoto for the first time from the Middle East, on a long-awaited vacation. They mentioned they wanted to see beautiful gardens and old Japanese temples, so after enjoying the lovely scenery at Kinkaku-ji, we visited Daisen-in, which can be considered the origin of wabi-cha tea culture. There I explained the karesansui dry landscape garden, the concept of wabi-sabi, and the religious outlook of modern Japanese people as influenced by the fusion of Shinto and Buddhism, including my own personal views, and we enjoyed a bowl of matcha prepared at the temple. It was a short tour of four hours, but I hope it became an interesting and memorable experience that felt like an entirely different world for the guests.

    What Is a Private Day Trip from Tokyo to Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided a group of guests from South America on a one-day trip from Tokyo to Kyoto. We began sightseeing in a light rain. First, I guided them through Fushimi Inari Taisha under umbrellas, explaining Shinto, shrines, and torii gates. After paying respects at the main hall, we moved toward the Senbon torii path, but as we passed through it, the rain grew heavier, so we quickly descended and took shelter in the car. Next, we headed to Kiyomizu-dera. The rain had eased, so we entered the grounds from the approach and I showed them the "Kiyomizu Stage" and the "Otowa Waterfall," walking down Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka to conclude our visit to Kiyomizu-dera. At that point the rain began to intensify again, so to avoid it and to have lunch, we moved to Nishiki Market. After a one-hour break at Nishiki Market, by the time we reached Kinkaku-ji it was already close to three o'clock, so I had to guide them through Kinkaku-ji at a brisk pace. At Kinkaku-ji, the guests took many commemorative photos and were very pleased. I had hoped to include Arashiyama if there was time, but there was no longer any time left, so we returned to Kyoto Station.

    What Is a Private Nara Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests came from Europe and had expected October in Japan to be much cooler. After arriving, they were surprised that it was warm enough to wear short sleeves and shorts, as shown in the photo. Because of the warm weather and consecutive days of touring, their fatigue had reached its peak. Even so, they kindly walked at a faster pace than many other overseas guests, which was very helpful. I had planned to drop them off at their hotel in Kyoto at 4:00, but since the guests said they could make their own way back from Kintetsu Saidaiji Station, we finished one hour earlier than scheduled.

    Title: What Is a Rainy-Day Private Tour of Osaka Castle and Dotonbori Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests appeared to be visiting more for observation and inspection than for sightseeing, seemingly connected to a travel company. The night before, a request came in to change the time from 10:30 to 13:30, and it was the first time I felt I was communicating with an actual person. Until then, only mechanical replies acknowledging receipt of my emails had come back, so I had no information about any particular places they wished to visit or any dining preferences. Still, the group took many photographs. After Osaka Castle, we rested at Miraiza Osaka, and since the rain would not let up, there was talk of taking a taxi to Dotonbori. However, since it would cost 300 yen to take the electric cart out to the street where a taxi could be caught, they decided instead to go either on a clear day or in the evening, so we walked back to the hotel and parted ways there. Along the way, the guests also frequently took work-related phone calls.

    Tokyo Private Tour Report: A Licensed Guide's Full-Day Itinerary of Ueno, Asakusa, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, and Shibuya The guests were a group visiting Japan. One of them had visited Japan before for work, but this was their first time sightseeing here, and it was the first visit to Japan for others in the group. Among themselves, the guests conversed in German and Spanish. Originally from different regions, the guests now reside in Europe. They wanted to hear guide explanations focused on historically significant places, so we visited Ueno Toshogu Shrine, Sensoji Temple, and Meiji Shrine as they had requested. During our travels, the guests continuously asked a wide variety of questions about history and Japanese society, and I explained as much as I could. For lunch, I took them to a casual, down-to-earth restaurant where you can enjoy a chanko set meal at a relatively reasonable price. They ordered the chanko set meal and a karaage set meal, and finished everything, saying "Delicious!" After visiting Meiji Shrine, on the way toward Takeshita Street in Harajuku, the guests showed strong interest in a soccer goods section that caught their eye, and one of the guests purchased a Japan national team jersey. Of course, on Takeshita Street, the whole group cheered with delight at a mini-pig cafe. After that, we first confirmed the location of a commercial facility in Harajuku where the guests were to meet a Japanese friend they had gotten to know in Europe, and then, to enjoy the roughly hour before the meeting time after the tour ended, I guided them to Shibuya, which we added to the original plan. They were thrilled at the Scramble Crossing, and one of the guests filmed video enthusiastically. It seems to have been an enjoyable day for the group's family trip to Japan.

    What's a Private Tokyo Tour Focused on Japanese Scents Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was visiting Japan for the first time from Europe, and joined a private Tokyo tour after their work had concluded. At Rikugien Garden, there happened to be a complimentary sencha green tea service taking place, and at Shinsentei — a teahouse not normally open to the public — a staff member gave a detailed explanation and demonstration of the tea in English, allowing us to enjoy delicious sencha. The teahouse also had tea flowers (fresh cut) arranged in a vase, and as the guest had a deep interest in plants and scents, they listened with great interest. The person who gave the explanation had also lived in Britain and explained everything clearly in fluent English, which was very much appreciated. After checking the aroma of the tea leaves, the guest carefully savored both the first and second brews, poured at the proper temperature, along with their fragrance. At the souvenir shop at Meiji Shrine, the guest compared the scents of different incense sticks. Also, when we had ramen for lunch, I introduced the black pepper on the counter, and the guest carefully checked its aroma as well. The guest mentioned, "Tomorrow I'd like to visit a botanical garden (referring to Shinjuku Gyoen) and find my favorite fragrant tree." During today's tour, we encountered this scent many times along the roadside. The favorite fragrant tree turned out to be the fragrant olive (kinmokusei). The blooming of kinmokusei in Tokyo had been later than usual this year, but it was fortunate that it coincided with the guest's visit. The guest was delighted with this fragrance. It became a tour that the guest enjoyed through the theme of "scent."

    Title: What Is a Private Yanaka and Asakusa Walking Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan, one of whom was a native English speaker. They had visited Japan before, and this time they wished to see areas that were less touristy, so I guided them around Yanaka. They seemed to enjoy its relaxed atmosphere. It was hot, but the weather was fine. On the way to Nezu Shrine, we stopped at a long-established sweet shop for monaka ice cream, and for lunch we had monjayaki and okonomiyaki, which the guests enjoyed very much. After visiting Senso-ji, they wanted to try matcha ice cream, so we all had some together and then strolled along the Sumida River. They seemed to enjoy spotting small crabs and watching the water buses. Afterwards, the group wanted to explore Asakusa a bit more on their own, so we parted ways there. I believe they had a good time.

    Can You Do a Private One-Day Tour of Tokyo Covering Asakusa, Tsukiji, and Harajuku? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group of three visiting Japan from North America, all visiting Japan for the first time. They were on a two-week trip to Japan, planning to spend three days in Tokyo before touring Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Hiroshima, then returning to Tokyo before heading home. The next day they planned a day trip to Mount Fuji. The day before, after arriving at Narita Airport, they took the train to their hotel, and in the evening they strolled around Ginza. Everyone was a little tired. We managed to avoid the rain, but the tour took place in hot and humid weather. First, we went to Asakusa. I explained about "Senso-ji Temple and the history from Edo to Tokyo," "the differences between Buddhism and Shinto," as well as "omikuji" (fortune slips) and "omamori" (amulets). There were questions such as "What kind of teachings does Buddhism offer?" and "Do all Japanese people believe in Buddhism?" At Asakusa Shrine, there was also a question, "How are Shinto and Buddhism different?" There was also a question, "Are there any Christians in Japan?" We moved on to Tsukiji. We took our time strolling through Tsukiji Uogashi and the Tsukiji Outer Market. I explained about "the history of Tsukiji Market" and "the differences between Tsukiji Market and Toyosu Market." The guests bought and sampled items such as fried sweet potato, ice cream, and tuna sashimi. They also bought a T-shirt as a souvenir. There was a question, "Is it always this crowded?" We moved on to Harajuku. At Meiji Shrine, I explained about the "Meiji Restoration," "Emperor Meiji," and "the Japanese Imperial Family." The guests remarked, "It's wonderful that there is such a green area in the middle of the city." After a rest at a cafe within the shrine grounds, we headed to Takeshita Street. The guests made comments such as "The city is so clean. There's no litter on the ground," "The public restrooms are clean and pleasant," "The subway is quiet and clean," and "Why are there no trash cans in the streets?" I saw them off at Ginza Station, where we parted ways.

    As a recent group travel record, in October 2023, we have a track record of guiding a group of 33 people from Singapore to Narita Airport transfer plus sightseeing in Tokyo.
    Self-introduction:
    In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
    Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
    I am a certified CPA in the United States.
    In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
    Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
    My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
    Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
    One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.
