What's a Private Bus Day Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. I had expected a microbus, but a full-sized sightseeing bus arrived instead. The guests were surprised to see a 50-seat sightseeing bus. As a result, I think they were able to enjoy the tour in a relaxed and spacious setting. Today it was 33 degrees in Kyoto, which was hotter than what they were used to, and they were quite tired. Because it was the school excursion season, the roads were congested, so we were only able to visit three locations, but I believe the guests enjoyed their Kyoto tour.

What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Shibuya, Meiji Shrine, and Shinjuku Gyoen The guest was a person visiting from South America. They had traveled around Japan and joined this tour in Tokyo as the final part of their trip. In Asakusa, the guest showed interest in the traditional architecture of Senso-ji Temple and the Japanese sweets and crafts lined up along Nakamise. At the large incense burner in front of the main hall, we lit incense and offered a prayer at the main hall. We then moved to Shibuya, where we took photos in front of the Hachiko statue and at the scramble crossing, and had lunch. Next, we headed to Meiji Shrine, and after talking about Japanese history and the origins of Meiji Shrine, we passed through the torii gate and made our way to the main hall while offering explanations along the way. The guest was deeply impressed by the forest located within the city. At Shinjuku Gyoen, we strolled through the Japanese garden, and the guest was delighted by the beautifully maintained scenery. We exited through the Sendagaya Gate, took the JR to Shimbashi Station, and finally saw the guest off at the Hotel, ending the tour.

Title: What's a Private Tokyo Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Imperial Palace, Senso-ji, Akihabara, and Meiji Shrine The guests were a group visiting from Europe, and this was their first visit to Japan. Before arriving in Tokyo, they had already visited Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Lake Kawaguchi, and after sightseeing in Tokyo and visiting Tokyo Disneyland, they planned to return to Europe at the end of the week. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo Shogunate. At Senso-ji Temple, they were interested to hear about the differences between temples and shrines, as well as about Kaminarimon Gate. In Akihabara, one of the guests showed interest in Pokemon cards and similar items. At Meiji Shrine, the guests seemed impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere, which was very different from Shibuya. I responded to the guests' requests as they wished, so I believe they were satisfied. In addition, since the guests' accommodation was a hotel near Tokyo Disneyland, which was outside the pickup area, we had agreed that the meeting point would be at the Marunouchi Central Exit of Tokyo Station rather than at the guests' hotel. However, it seems it took them some time to find the meeting point within Tokyo Station, and the guests arrived 15 minutes later than the scheduled meeting time. For this reason, the tour started at 10:15. Also, at the guests' request, the tour was conducted without lunch.

The guests were visitors from North America. During the tour we discovered a shared connection, which made the atmosphere even more friendly and relaxed. They had been looking forward to visiting Japan, as people close to them had traveled here before, and they thoroughly enjoyed Japanese culture, food, and customs. They asked many questions about the atomic bomb and about the architecture of shrines and temples, and they listened attentively. Daisho-in Temple on Miyajima was relatively uncrowded and had a quiet atmosphere, and the guests were delighted to be able to avoid the crowds and enjoy nature.

Hi, I’m Emiko. Until March 2025, I worked as a school teacher, and now I’ve started guiding visitors in Hiroshima. I’ve traveled to about ten different countries, and each journey has given me wonderful memories. I was deeply impressed by the breathtaking nature, delicious food, rich history, and diverse cultures in each place. Meeting kind and welcoming local people was also a highlight. The friendships I formed during my travels have turned into lifelong connections, and we sometimes visit each other. Having friends across the globe is one of the greatest joys of traveling.
If I can help visitors to Hiroshima experience the same sense of warmth, connection, and discovery, I would be truly honored.
I have lived in Hiroshima City, Saijo, and Fukuyama for several years each, which allows me to guide you not only to Hiroshima’s two World Heritage Sites—the Atomic Bomb Dome and Miyajima—but also to places like Saijo, Fukuyama, and Fukuyama’s neighboring city, Onomichi. If you’re able to explore beyond the Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima, I would love to introduce you to many other fascinating places across Hiroshima Prefecture.
Most visitors to Hiroshima include the Peace Memorial Park in their itinerary, where the Atomic Bomb Dome is preserved alongside the Peace Memorial Museum, and the Peace Memorial Museum. We all hope for a peaceful world, and simply visiting these places is a meaningful step toward that vision. At the same time, it reminds us how fortunate we are to live in the present and spend time with loved ones. This site not only tells a tragic story of war but also inspires hope and courage to move forward in life.
Another must-see destination in Hiroshima Prefecture is Miyajima. Since ancient times, this island has been considered sacred, believed to be the dwelling place of the gods by local people. The stunning Itsukushima Shrine and its iconic torii gate, both appearing to float on the sea, create a breathtaking contrast with the blue Seto Inland Sea and the lush primeval forest behind them. Miyajima also holds traces of Japan’s unique religious history—the fusion and separation of Shintoism and Buddhism—something visible in only a few places across Japan. If you love nature, you can hike or take the ropeway to explore the island’s scenic beauty. Miyajima also offers a variety of delicious local specialties, including Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, maple-leaf-shaped pancakes, conger-eel rice bowls, and Japanese matcha tea tastings. The island is packed with historic shrines and temples with fascinating stories, cultural experiences, outdoor activities, and amazing food.
I would be delighted to make your visit even more enjoyable and memorable! I am very much looking forward to exploring interesting places in Hiroshima with you!

Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Arashiyama and Kiyomizu The guests visited from North America. I had sent a tentative itinerary in advance, but there was no reaction until the day before. After meeting them today, the guests said they wanted to visit the Sagano bamboo grove, so we skipped Kennin-ji Temple and went to the bamboo grove instead. For shopping, along Kiyomizu-zaka they bought nama yatsuhashi, furikake from Ochanokosaisai, and an incense set from Shoyeido, and did not enter any other souvenir shops. Today again the sunlight was very strong like midsummer and the temperature was high, so I encouraged them to stay hydrated. Since we started early, I think the tour went relatively smoothly.

I’m Ryoichi Kazuma and my nickname is “Kazz”. I live in Kyotanabe city next to Kyoto city. I want guests to enjoy Kyoto by seeing and experiencing not only from outside but also from inside. I offer various information from daily matters to traditional cultures. Most destinations in Kyoto are located on the eastern side or the western side. As I want to guide guests to as many destinations as possible, I make an efficient itinerary and recommend a taxi use to save time. Additionally, I take pictures at various spots and finally share the link to my storage. By doing so, guests can download their favorite pictures from my storage. Please enjoy Kyoto night and day!

What's a Private Walking Tour from Shibuya to Asakusa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. We walked from a hotel in Shibuya to Meiji Shrine, passing the Hachiko statue, the Shibuya Crossing, Omoide Yokocho, Miyashita Park, and Cat Street. In front of the Hachiko statue and the "Anywhere Door" at Miyashita Park, the guests showed great interest in the background stories, and at Meiji Shrine everyone drew omikuji fortunes. Each of the guests was curious about a variety of things, which made it enjoyable to explain. We took a break at Kofukudo on Takeshita Street and headed toward Omotesando Station while cheering at various animal cafes and shop displays. At Omotesando Station, I explained how to use the subway and gave an overview of Tokyo's transportation system. After arriving in Asakusa, we had only about 20 minutes, so I explained the history of Senso-ji Temple and Asakusa Shrine, helped with taking photos at Kaminarimon Gate, and ended the tour.

What Are the Costs of a Private Taxi vs. Subway Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They were traveling around Japan by cruise ship and returning home the following day, so they wanted to see the highlights of Tokyo by taxi as much as possible to avoid walking. Since the distance from Shibuya to Asakusa is considerable, I suggested traveling by subway, but they preferred to go by taxi. However, the taxi fare came to 6,500 yen, which seemed higher than they had expected, and they became a little displeased. I explained that Tokyo is very large and that traveling from the west to the east takes both time and money, and they understood. On the way back, they said they wanted to use a taxi again, but I explained that a taxi from Asakusa to Shinjuku would cost more than 8,000 yen, so we returned by subway instead. The subway turned out to be more comfortable than they had expected, and they were in good spirits, which I was glad about. For taxi travel in the future, I plan to ask about the budget in advance.

At the East Gardens, they showed great interest when I explained episodes from the Edo period. At Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, they also listened with interest to my explanations of the historical background. They mentioned that their reason for coming to Japan was to eat authentic sushi, so I introduced them to a favorite restaurant of mine with 100 years of history. I am certified as a Top Guide by the JGA.
Drawing on my past experience as a guide, where I have consistently received positive feedback from guests, I will focus on the following key points in my guiding:
Explain the historical transition from Edo to Tokyo through engaging episodes and stories.
Offer a cross-cultural perspective on why concepts such as honji suijaku (the idea of local deities being manifestations of Buddhist figures), as seen at places like Meiji Shrine, represent a worldview that Japan can be proud of.
Provide warm and humorous interaction, incorporating the spirit of hospitality I learned while studying at Columbia University in the United States.
Use my experience working at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to explain Tokyo’s present-day situation with the support of statistical data.

What Is a Private Food Tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time. Since they said they loved eating and asked for recommendations, I suggested grilled oysters, momiji manju, and lemon soda in Miyajima, and they tried all of them and were delighted with how delicious everything was. After returning to Hiroshima, we enjoyed okonomiyaki together. They added toppings such as oysters, shrimp, and squid, and they were very pleased with that as well. As they live in North America, we had an enjoyable lunch while they told me about where they live.

Title: What Is a Private Day Tour of Hakone Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. They had already traveled through Tokyo and Kyoto, and Hakone was their final destination. First, we stopped by Gora Park so they could enjoy the rose garden, which was in full bloom, and they admired the wonderful scenery. At Owakudani, the weather was perfectly clear and Mount Fuji was beautifully visible, so they took many photographs. At Hakone Shrine, I focused my explanation on the background of Shinto and its influence on Japanese culture. They asked many enthusiastic questions about the similarities and differences with their own beliefs, and were impressed by the distinctive customs of Japan. As for their overall impression of Japan, they felt that everything — the scenery, history, food, and culture — was wonderful, and they expressed a wish to return and spend more time visiting regions they were not able to see on this trip.

    Hello and welcome to Tokyo!

I have been working for business with American companies for many years. I have many experiences guiding customers from around the world in Japan and taking Japanese customers to the USA and Europe.

I now have a national license as a guiding interpreter, and I want to introduce the unique gigantic city of Tokyo and the traditional Japanese culture, which is not shown in the guidebooks, to people worldwide who are interested in it. In addition, I want to introduce various Japanese foods you can enjoy only in Japan.
Unique experiences such as the Sumo Training Viewing and Tea Ceremony are optionally available.
Depending on your preference and itinerary, I can guide you in Tokyo, Kamakura, and Hakone so that you can enjoy your time in Japan.
