What Is a Private Walking Tour of Hamarikyu Gardens and Tsukiji in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests had originally requested Meiji Shrine and Tsukiji, but since they were going to SHIBUYA SKY the next day, they decided to skip Meiji Shrine and asked me to choose one more spot near Tsukiji. I decided to guide them to Hamarikyu Gardens first. It was a bit far from the Hotel, and there was no direct train, but I judged that the guests would be fine walking, so we made the move on foot. However, since it was a cold day, we did not overexert ourselves and took the subway to Tsukiji after strolling through Hamarikyu Gardens. Since one of the guests was fond of bonsai, Hamarikyu Gardens was even more popular than expected. Because the walking distance was short and we had time to spare, at Tsukiji I also carefully explained Namiyoke Shrine, which I usually skip. As the guests wished to stay a little longer in Tsukiji, I showed them the location of Tsukiji Station on the Hibiya Line before we parted ways.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.

What Does a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report from Meiji Shrine to Asakusa We started by purchasing a 24-hour Tokyo Metro pass at Nishi-Shinjuku Station. The guests were very interested in Japanese history, and were especially fond of Shogun. At Meiji Shrine I spoke about the Meiji Restoration, and since they were quite knowledgeable about history, they asked several sharp questions. They were delighted by the beauty of the man-made forest. On Takeshita Street we briefly stopped at an animal café, but they came out right away. They stopped at various shops and seemed to be enjoying themselves. At the Imperial Palace, I explained that it was a castle built by Tokugawa Ieyasu, and again received many questions. We had lunch at a tonkatsu restaurant, which they enjoyed and found delicious. I guided them through Akihabara on foot from the Hibiya Line station to Suehirocho, and here too I received many questions. Toward the end, we were running short on time and finished in Asakusa. They saw the Skytree and remarked on how very beautiful it was.

Title: What Is a Private Day Tour of Kyoto Like for a Solo Guest? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was visiting Japan for the second time, from Europe. The guest had come to Japan many years ago but did not remember much of it, perhaps because it had been a group trip. Since the private vehicle assigned was a large van, I had wondered whether it was suitable for a single guest. As expected, the guest had not realized that it was possible to choose a vehicle designed for between two and seven passengers. The guest's native language is German and can also speak French. English was still a foreign language for the guest, so there were some points that were difficult to convey. The guest was quiet, so during visits to various sites, I did most of the talking and answered questions when asked. In the car, the guest sometimes took a short nap, likely due to fatigue. The autumn foliage was beginning in various places, and it looked like it would reach its peak in about another week. The main keep of Nijo Castle is open to the public. I asked a staff member, and they said that in the morning it may be possible to enter with a same-day ticket (an additional payment of 1,000 yen). The photo was taken at the bamboo grove in Arashiyama.

I was born and grew up in Kyoto and now live near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I used to be a schoolteacher of English and welcome a lot of students from foreign countries. I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people. I myself enjoyed several sports, such as soccer, judo, and marathon when I was young. I’m much interested in baseball and sumo. My motto as a tour guide is to let my guests learn about our tradition and culture precisely and really enjoy themselves. I strongly hope you will enjoy the tour in Japan with me.

What Is a Private Tokyo Day Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. Rain had been forecast from the start, and although it turned out to be lighter drizzle that occasionally stopped, the temperature stayed low throughout, making it a rather cold tour. I made an effort not to go on too long about history, and since expressions were not always easy to read, I was a little unsure whether the guests were enjoying themselves. Toward the end, around when we reached Takeshita Street, smiles began to appear, which was a relief. Since we were moving faster than planned, I made an effort to keep a good rhythm by visiting Harakado and using a Toei bus to get to Shibuya.

Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Walking Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Oceania. It was their first time in Japan, having arrived the day before, and starting the next day they were scheduled to join an approximately 10-day group tour visiting the Fuji Five Lakes, Nagano, Takayama, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and other destinations. This [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) private one-day tour of Tokyo covered Meiji Shrine, Harajuku (Takeshita Street), Shibuya (the Scramble Crossing and the Hachiko statue), and the Toyokawa Inari Tokyo Betsuin. The guests listened attentively to my explanations and clearly enjoyed themselves, taking photos at each spot. As animal lovers, they visited a mipig cafe in Harajuku, took photos with the Hachiko statue in Shibuya, and bought fox-shaped fortune slips and votive tablets at the Toyokawa Inari Tokyo Betsuin. For lunch they requested tonkatsu, so we went to a tonkatsu restaurant in Shibuya, and they were delighted with how delicious it was. After the tour, the guests wanted to explore Shinjuku on their own, so I explained places such as the Godzilla Head and how to get back to their accommodation, then walked with them to the 3D billboard in Shinjuku before parting ways.

Can You Do a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour from a Cruise Stop at Osaka Port? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from Europe. The meeting point was Kyoto Station, and since I had heard they would be coming from Osaka on the morning of the tour, I assumed they were staying at a hotel in Osaka, but in fact they had arrived on a cruise that docked at Tempozan in Osaka Port. This had not been mentioned by the group in our prior email exchanges, so I was a little caught off guard when, in the latter half of the tour, I learned that they had to return to the ship by 9:00. Since they came from Europe, there were moments when English was a little difficult to convey, but I believe they understood in the end. The guests all loved Japanese culture and took plenty of time at each site to fully appreciate the cultural properties, so the schedule kept running later and later. By the time we reached Gion, we had already exceeded six hours, so I gave them only the basic information and let them explore the rest on foot on their own. What left an impression on me was that they said that although Germany, like Japan, was a defeated nation in World War II, it turned out well for them. The photo was taken at Kinkaku-ji.

What Is a Private Kyoto Tour Like for Guests Visiting the Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe who, after retiring, have been enjoying world travel by cruise ship, arriving in Japan this time via Asia and touring various parts of Kyushu before reaching Kyoto. The entire itinerary was arranged according to the guests' wishes, and at the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle in particular, they were most eager to learn first about how the Japanese imperial system has changed over time and how the shogun was involved. Whenever I explained Japanese history and culture, the guests would constantly draw comparisons with life and culture in their home region, saying things like "we have something similar," and often asked how things are done in Japan compared with their own customs. For example, they asked why jet air hand dryers are found in some Japanese toilets but not others, and why it isn't consistent, noting that this can be inconvenient because your hands don't dry. They said such dryers are always present back home. I explained that in Japan, from the first year of elementary school, children are checked every morning during assembly by their homeroom teacher on whether they have trimmed their nails and whether they have a handkerchief and tissues, so even as adults it becomes second nature to carry a handkerchief and tissues when going out, and that perhaps this is the underlying reason why jet air dryers are not always found in toilets. The guests found this very amusing. The whole day went along in this manner. They tried okonomiyaki, which apparently is not available at the Japanese restaurants back home, and they were delighted to enjoy a taste and atmosphere they could not have experienced on their own.

Title: What Is a Private Day Tour of Eastern Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from Europe. As part of the planning, I recommended Saihoji Temple in advance, and they made their own reservation for a visit the following day. Because of this, I decided to guide them through the eastern part of Kyoto today, following the itinerary described above. I had been a little concerned about their dietary preferences, but for lunch at a sub-temple of Tofukuji Temple, they ordered a set meal of fresh yuba udon and matsutake rice along with amazake, and they were very satisfied. One of the guests purchased a "haori" jacket, though a secondhand one, at a kimono shop in front of Tofukuji Station. We took a taxi from Tofukuji to Yasaka Street. On Sannenzaka, one of the guests happily bought five solar-powered nodding dolls as souvenirs. After sightseeing at Kiyomizu Temple, since they had a dinner reservation at six, we parted ways when they boarded a taxi from Higashioji Street at the bottom of Gojozaka to head to their accommodation. I believe they were satisfied.

I am an experienced guide, who live in Osaka. I have been a Government-Licensed Guide in English since 2018. I have already guided a lot of tourists overseas in Kansai Area, that is, in the vicinity of my prefecture, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, and Himeji. I am especially good at guiding in Kansai Area with sufficient knowledge of history, culture and transportation. I have guided people ranging from a small group of one or two to a group of 20-50 people in a big bus, that is, a coach. I like delicious food, because Osaka is a city of Kuidaorre, which means that people in Osaka love to eat and never spend too much money on food. Therefore, as an Osakan, I will do my best to explore restaurants which serve most delicious foods in wherever I take to my guests.

Title: What's a Private Day Trip from Kyoto to Hiroshima and Miyajima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests came from Oceania and arrived in Japan for their trip. They had woken up at 4 a.m. and traveled by Shinkansen from Kyoto to Hiroshima Station, where we met as planned at 8 a.m. Since they were returning to Kyoto the same day, they had left their luggage at their hotel and were traveling light, so we quickly discussed and decided on a plan before setting off. Because we introduced ourselves and worked out the specific plan on the train, everything went very smoothly afterward. When we arrived at Miyajima, the weather was sunny, and the guests were both moved by the scenery. They laughed at the stories about the deer, and enjoyed the anecdotes about Taira no Kiyomori, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Since one of the guests follows a plant-based diet, we ordered okonomiyaki without meat, and both guests repeatedly said how delicious it was. On the train to the Peace Park, the guests folded paper cranes for the first time. One of the guests was surprisingly enthusiastic, and helping each other, they completed the cranes successfully and offered them at the Children's Peace Monument. It was memorable how earnestly they listened to the guide within the Peace Park and studied the explanations inside the Peace Memorial Museum, reading and observing with great attention. I saw them off safely at Hiroshima Station and we said goodbye. They asked me for recommendations for Tokyo, which they were visiting next, so I suggested places such as teamLab.

Hi! I am Kazuha from Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture. Please call me Kazu chan. I was a teacher for 37 years, and retired last year. After that, I traveled a lot, and met a guide who made my travel much more interesting than other travel. It has become a life-time memory. So I decided to be an interpreter guide to help foreign tourists. I would love to help you to make your travel more interesting and exciting!
I have guided Onomichi, and two World Cultural Heritage sites :Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, and Miyajima. Onomichi is my hometown and the starting point for the Shimanami-kaido to Shikoku Island. It prospered from the 12th century to the 19th century, and was not bombed during the war. So we can still enjoy finding unique Japanese culture while walking. Let’s explore Hiroshima and make your travel special!

Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Koyasan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report We met smoothly at Koyasan Station and took a bus to Daimon Gate. On the bus, the guests told me they had come to Koyasan after traveling the Kumano Kodo, and shared some background about their connection to Japan. After seeing Daimon Gate, we walked to the Garan complex. The guests seemed to enjoy walking, and we savored the townscape of Koyasan while stopping at temples to view the gardens. The autumn foliage was at its peak today, and they took many photos while enjoying the red of the maples and the yellow of the ginkgo trees. In front of Daimon Gate and the Konpon Daito pagoda, I also took photos of the guests. Although it was a four-hour tour, since they had taken the time to come all the way to Koyasan, we also visited Kongobuji Temple and went around Okunoin, finishing at 3:00 p.m. At that point, if we had headed back, they would have been able to return to Osaka by 5:00 p.m. However, due to the effects of a railway accident involving a person, the train was delayed, and we arrived at Hashimoto at 5:00 p.m., about an hour behind schedule. On the return train, the guests showed me photos on their smartphone of places they had traveled to in Japan so far.

Hi! I’m an official English guide in Wakayama prefecture. I’m also a national guide as well. I’d like to expand my guide area to help tourists.
The town of Osaka offers a different atmosphere than Tokyo. I like both exciting Osaka and nature-filled Wakayama Prefecture.
If you stay in Osaka for 3 days, you can go to Koyasan for one day, or even for a day trip, so I recommend sightseeing at Koyasan.
If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city, the nature of Koyasan will relax you.
I will introduce you to the unique culture, history and must-see sights.
