What Is a 6-Hour Private Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. Although the climate in their home region is similar to Japan's, they were surprised by the cold in Japan even though it was March. In addition to the spots mentioned above, they had wanted to visit Fushimi Inari Taisha, but I explained that this would not be possible within 6 hours and asked them to consider going on a separate day. The rain that had continued over the past several days had completely cleared up, and I believe the guests were able to enjoy a comfortable Kyoto tour. In particular, they were amazed by the beautiful moss at Kinkaku-ji and Ginkaku-ji after the rain.

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Arashiyama, Gion, Nijo Castle, and Fushimi Inari Today I guided guests visiting from North America. They were traveling around Asia on this trip, visiting several destinations across the region before coming to Japan. Today we visited the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Tatsumibashi Bridge in Gion, Nijo Castle, and Fushimi Inari Taisha, and it was nice that there were still few tourists, allowing us to explore at a relaxed pace. At Fushimi Inari Taisha, I showed them the torii-shaped ema votive plaques and mentioned that visitors from North America sometimes purchase them as Christmas decorations. They showed interest and bought one. They said Fushimi Inari Taisha left the strongest impression on them.

Title: What's a Private Day Trip to Kyoto from Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe who traveled to Kyoto as a day trip from Tokyo. They were energetic and had no difficulty walking. To make sure we would meet without any trouble, I greeted them on the platform. One of the guests could speak English, while the other understood some English but preferred not to speak it, so the group communicated internally through interpretation in their own language. Since the guests had already purchased return Shinkansen tickets for the 16:01 departure from Kyoto Station to Tokyo, we planned our route to make sure we returned to Kyoto Station in time. When the bus from Nishiki Market to Kiyomizu-michi had just departed, I asked whether they would like to take a taxi, and they agreed, so we went by taxi. From Kiyomizu-dera we walked down Sannenzaka and Yasaka-dori, then took a taxi back to Kyoto Station via Higashioji-dori. As the guests wanted to buy sake at Kyoto Station, we got out of the taxi in front of the department store, but once we reached the basement floor they said they were worried about missing the Shinkansen and would head to the platform without buying anything. I accompanied them to the Shinkansen ticket gate and completed the interpreter-guide service. Since I had heard in advance that the guests wanted to do a tasting of Japanese food, I guided them to Nishiki Market. They looked at the products in Nishiki Market with great interest and seemed to like the noodles at a shop there, but the waiting line was long, so they gave up on it. As they wanted to try not only noodles but also other Japanese dishes, I guided them to a casual set-meal restaurant. The guests had a list of foods on their phone that had been recommended to them by a family member, and since one of the items on the list, soba, was available at the restaurant, they enjoyed soba. When I mentioned, looking around, that this place was reasonably priced and popular with local customers, they were pleased and felt it was a good choice. Regarding their home country, the guests mentioned that older generations had studied Russian at school in their childhood, but that nowadays children study English from the first year of elementary school, so younger people can speak English. They also kindly shared stories about their family and their home country. One of the guests had visited Japan three times before but was in Kyoto for the first time, while the other was visiting Japan for the first time.

Some of the guests had visited Japan before, while others were visiting for the first time. Based on the wish to show places that held special meaning from a previous stay in Japan, I arranged the itinerary, though it turned out to be a little busy. Even so, the guests completed the entire itinerary to the end, and we were able to finish the tour almost as scheduled. The weather was unstable with occasional showers, but since the intended goals were achieved, the guests were very pleased.

What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Temple and Arashiyama Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America who had come to Japan while traveling. When departing from the hotel, they asked how long it would take by bus versus taxi, and when I explained that it would be about 20 minutes by taxi and 40 minutes by bus, the guests chose the taxi without hesitation. At Kinkaku-ji, there happened to be a special opening of the Hojo (abbot's chamber), and the guests said they felt lucky to be able to see it. After that, I guided them by taxi to Otagi Nenbutsu-ji, which is known for its many unusual rakan statues. Since taxis are difficult to catch in that area, I asked the taxi driver to wait while we visited Otagi Nenbutsu-ji. We then took the taxi to the bamboo grove in Arashiyama, where the guests saw the bamboo grove, Tenryu-ji, and the Togetsukyo Bridge. When the guests asked what would come next, I explained that there was a monkey park nearby where you can feed the monkeys. They showed great interest and said they wanted to go, so I guided them there. It was still a little early when we finished, but I explained that it takes about an hour to climb the mountain, feed the monkeys, and come back down, and then we parted ways. It was a pleasant tour, and the guests seemed very satisfied. I checked several times about lunch, but they said they did not need to eat.

I am an experienced guide, who live in Osaka. I have been a Government-Licensed Guide in English since 2018. I have already guided a lot of tourists overseas in Kansai Area, that is, in the vicinity of my prefecture, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, and Himeji. I am especially good at guiding in Kansai Area with sufficient knowledge of history, culture and transportation. I have guided people ranging from a small group of one or two to a group of 20-50 people in a big bus, that is, a coach. I like delicious food, because Osaka is a city of Kuidaorre, which means that people in Osaka love to eat and never spend too much money on food. Therefore, as an Osakan, I will do my best to explore restaurants which serve most delicious foods in wherever I take to my guests.

Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour with a Licensed Guide Possible? A Guide's Report The lobby of the hotel in Odaiba is spacious and has poor visibility, which often makes it difficult to meet up, but this time the guest noticed the description of my clothing that I had posted on the messaging app and found me before the scheduled time. Because a companion had cancelled their participation, I ended up guiding one guest. In the first half we mainly used JR lines, but there seemed to be a signal failure on the Chuo Line, which ended up taking more time. After arriving in Marunouchi, we switched to traveling mainly by subway. Since the East Gardens were closed for the day and the guest did not do much shopping, we had a little extra time in the second half despite the trouble in the first half. For that reason, I gave a brief tour of Akihabara at the end. I then saw the guest back to the hotel before we parted ways.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.

Title: What Can You See on a Private Rainy-Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report Because rain was forecast from the morning, the guests asked on the day whether the start time could be pushed back. After checking with the driver, we delayed the start by 30 minutes to a 10:00 departure. The guests did not want to walk in the rain, so I proposed several indoor spots, and they chose the Tokyo National Museum. Since I had explained Japanese history in the car, they viewed every exhibit with great interest. I recommended purchasing knives and other items at Kappabashi, but the guests were not interested, so we headed to Asakusa. I suggested having lunch in Asakusa, but the guests preferred to continue sightseeing. They purchased chopsticks and other items along Nakamise. As the rain continued, we visited the Imperial Palace, which had caught the guests' interest, and they enjoyed the cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, and the East Gardens. Since the guests seemed tired, I proposed sightseeing from the car, and they agreed. With the driver's cooperation, we returned to the Hotel while I explained the government district, the Prime Minister's Office, the National Diet, the US and UK embassies, and the National Diet Library along the way.

Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. This was effectively their first full day in Japan on a longer trip. At the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, they experienced both modern and medieval Japan, and in Akihabara they browsed a trading card shop for souvenirs for friends. Since they planned to stay at a temple lodging on Mount Koya after Tokyo, I arranged for them to experience the goma fire ritual at Fukagawa Fudodo, a temple of the Shingon sect. Although visiting Harajuku was considered, they preferred to have dinner, so I suggested a fugu (blowfish) course at a long-established restaurant in Asakusa. With dishes such as fugu chiri hot pot and hire-zake, they were able to experience aspects of Japanese food culture that are not usually available.

**title:** What Is a Private Rainy-Day Garden Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report **body:** It was a cold, rainy day, with strong gusts of wind at times, so the weather was unfortunately not ideal. Since the guests preferred to walk slowly, we took our time throughout the day. When we met in the morning, they mentioned they had visited Asakusa the previous day, so considering the weather and the slower pace, we decided to skip Asakusa and instead visit the Imperial Palace East Gardens, Hamarikyu Gardens, Meiji Shrine, and Shinjuku Gyoen. The guests enjoyed gardening as a hobby and had many questions about plants and gardens. They also asked many questions about culture and traditions. At the Imperial Palace East Gardens, there were three cherry trees in full bloom, which they were delighted to see. At Hamarikyu Gardens, they enjoyed the last of the plum blossoms and the rapeseed flowers. After I explained the grounds at Shinjuku Gyoen, our time was up and we parted ways.

My name is Eiji Kobayashi (Mr.), and I will be your guide during your stay in Tokyo.
    Please call me Koba.
Allow me to introduce myself. I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter of Japan and an expert in Japanese history and culture, and also in nursing and health. I usually work as a Public Health Nurse (PHN) at a Public Health Center in Tokyo, and I hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Additionally, I have a Ph.D. in medical science.
Born in 1957 and raised in Tokyo, I have worked for 33 years mainly in the research and development area for some pharmaceutical companies. Then, I changed my career to nursing and entered a university to obtain a PHN and RN license. I took the Licensed Guide for preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and volunteered in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2021.

What's a Private One-Day Osaka Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting together. After viewing Tsutenkaku from a distance, we moved to Namba. They had said they would visit Dotonbori on their own, but since it seemed they had not been able to go there yet, we walked a little and passed through to Kuromon Market in Nippombashi. As they seemed to enjoy old Japanese things and culture, we poured water on the Fudo statue at Hozenji Yokocho, and at Kuromon Market they enjoyed obanyaki, pork miso soup, grilled eel skewers, and sashimi. Since some of the guests could not eat shrimp or shellfish, at an okonomiyaki restaurant near Shitennoji they had pork okonomiyaki. At Shitennoji, we also went inside the temple grounds and enjoyed the beauty of the Buddhist statues. At Osaka Castle, they seemed to enjoy historical stories and listened attentively. We had wanted to go to the Umeda Sky Building as well, but there was not enough time, so they decided to go on their own, and I saw them off to the Hotel.

Hi! I’m an official English guide in Wakayama prefecture. I’m also a national guide as well. I’d like to expand my guide area to help tourists.
The town of Osaka offers a different atmosphere than Tokyo. I like both exciting Osaka and nature-filled Wakayama Prefecture.
If you stay in Osaka for 3 days, you can go to Koyasan for one day, or even for a day trip, so I recommend sightseeing at Koyasan.
If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city, the nature of Koyasan will relax you.
I will introduce you to the unique culture, history and must-see sights.
