What Is a Rainy-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fukagawa and Ueno The guests were visitors from Europe. They were very cheerful and bright. Due to unfortunate rain, we changed our destination from Meiji Shrine to the indoor Fukagawa Edo Museum on short notice. They had an interest in history and religion, and although they seemed a little surprised at the museum, they listened attentively to the explanations and asked many questions. They mentioned they had seen the shogun elsewhere, and they were especially drawn to stories about the Edo period. Since the weather will be clear tomorrow, they plan to visit Shibuya, Harajuku, Meiji Shrine, and the Imperial Palace on their own. By the time we reached Ueno the rain had eased to a light drizzle, and we parted ways wishing them wonderful memories.

Title: What Is a Private Kanazawa Cultural Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report Despite the unfortunate rain, the tour started as scheduled along the planned route. The guests were a group of acquaintances connected through work, visiting from North America. They had studied pottery, flower arranging, and Japanese gardens back home and were quite interested in Japanese culture. Since I had heard they would also have another day in Kanazawa, I made sure to introduce traditional crafts while guiding them through the main sights, and I also pointed out other places worth visiting. When the rain grew heavier partway through, we took a break at the tea room of Gyokusen'in so the guests could relax. Before the tour began, I had heard that a suitcase had broken and needed to be replaced, so I guided them to a department store near the hotel to end the tour.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Morioka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report From Kaiun Bridge, Mount Iwate was unfortunately hidden by clouds, but the guests seemed to understand why it is called the "bridge of two cries." Because restoration of Morioka Castle Ruins Park had been completed in November of the previous year, we were fortunate to be able to enter via the proper castle approach beside Sakurayama Shrine. After viewing the Ishikawa Takuboku poetry monument and the Nitobe Inazo memorial at the Ninomaru ruins, we visited the pedestal of the lieutenant's bronze statue at the Honmaru ruins. The guests seemed to deepen their understanding of the nozura-zumi stonework from the construction period and the sangi-zumi stonework from the expansion period. They took memorial photos with great interest of the drum bridge at the inner moat ruins, which had been featured in a major newspaper (they said they had learned about the article for the first time on this occasion). Nitobe Inazo passed away in Victoria, Canada, which became the catalyst for the sister-city partnership between Morioka and Victoria, so we extended our walk a little to near his birthplace. Then we walked along Victoria Road beside the Nakatsugawa River, viewing and photographing a maple tree donated by the city of Victoria. Right nearby, after viewing the Nambu ironware exhibition and festival floats at the Morioka History and Culture Museum, we visited and photographed the Ishiwari-zakura (rock-splitting cherry tree) on the court grounds. After seeing the "demon's handprint" at Mitsuishi Shrine, we visited the five hundred rakan at Hoon-ji Temple. Around this time the snow began to fall heavily. After a grilled meat lunch at Niku no Yonai, we headed straight to Johnny's (a jazz café) by Kaiun Bridge. By coincidence, since the place where the guests live is famous for its international jazz festival, we had a lively conversation about jazz with the owner's spouse (the owner was away for a live performance at another venue) (photo). I guided them to the ticket office at Morioka Station, ending the tour. The weather worsened from the afternoon, but the guests seemed to appreciate the connection between Morioka and North America through the sister-city partnership and jazz. Just after we parted at the station, I received an email saying "Thank you again for a wonderful day," and I replied wishing them an enjoyable continuation of their trip in Japan. Since the guests use a messaging app, I also installed the app on my smartphone, which allowed us to communicate well. This assignment made me realize how convenient the app is.

What's a Private Tokyo Sightseeing Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan from North America. They had wanted to come to Japan for many years and had finally made it happen. They had just arrived the previous night, so today was essentially their first day of sightseeing. They were very eager to experience various aspects of Japanese culture and history, and showed great curiosity. It seemed they had studied Japan's ancient capitals in advance, as many of their questions were quite specific, and each time they were satisfied and delighted with the answers. The tour took place in unfortunate rainy weather, which created some constraints on the itinerary and made parts of the day challenging. Even so, at Meiji Shrine they purchased many charms and experienced how to worship at a shrine, and they clearly felt a strong sense of Japanese culture. In Asakusa, thanks to the rain there were fewer people than usual, so we were able to stroll around at a relaxed pace.

Title: What Can You See on a Rainy One-Day Private Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America who had traveled through Asia before arriving in Japan. They flew into Kansai Airport, sightsaw in Kyoto, took the Shinkansen to Odawara, visited Hakone, and then came to Tokyo. Today it was a cold rain from the morning, but while holding umbrellas, the guests thoroughly enjoyed the day's tour. They took many photos at Senso-ji Temple, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya. I explained the differences between temples and shrines, the proper way to worship at each, and how to pass through a torii gate, and they seemed to have grasped it well. Since they said they liked sushi, I made a reservation for them at a sushi restaurant on Dogenzaka in Shibuya, and they were delighted, saying it was a very delicious sushi restaurant. Due to the unfortunate rain, from the observation deck of the north tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building we could only faintly see the skyscrapers of Shinjuku and the ground below, but within the limited time we were able to visit Asakusa, Shibuya, Harajuku, and Shinjuku, and they were pleased to have gained a certain understanding of Japanese culture and customs.

Let me introduce myself. I was born in Hayama, a beach resort area, Kanagawa prefecture, south of Tokyo. And I’m now living in Saginuma, Kawasaki city.
When I was a university student, I had the opportunities of doing a home stay with a family In U.S.A., Australia, and England, as a youth exchange student.
After graduation from the university, I started working at American Life Insurance Company, Japan (Alico, Japan), which is a group member company of AIG, now MetLife Insurance Company. I could have a chance to visit the head office and the field offices of U.S.A., Wilmington in Delaware, New York, Boston, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale in Florida, Los Angeles, while I was working for Alico, Japan (Now, MetLife Insurance company).
I had been working for MetLife Insurance Company for about 38 years, in total.
After retiring from the life insurance company, I started working as a tour guide, because I wanted to become a tour guide to introduce culture, history, and manners and customs of Japan in English. It’s so different between my previous job and the guide business, but I like guide business a lot.
I can meet so many people from all over the world and the guide business has been thriving after the pandemic.
I have implemented the tour over 240 times, introduced Japan to more than 4300 tourists from 53 countries.

Not only Tokyo, but I have experienced touring around Nikko, Kamakura, Mt. Fuji & Hakone area, Takayama, Kanazawa, Nagoya, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Hiroshima, etc. which are all very famous as a tourist spot in Japan.
If you go on a tour in Tokyo, you must see and visit Asakusa Sensoji Temple which is the oldest Buddhist Temple in Tokyo with histories and Nakamise Shopping Street where you can buy the souvenirs and try to taste Japanese sweets, such as doll cake which is the sponge cake in various shapes filled with red bean paste and Japanese powdered tea ice cream. Another my recommendation in Tokyo to visit is Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, and Shibuya. Meiji Shrine is one of the biggest shrines in Japan with quiet and peaceful atmosphere and magnificent site.
Harajuku and Shibuya are both fun to visit for shopping and experience the Shibuya Crossing.
I usually propose my tentative itinerary and ask if my plan is all right with the customer or not. My hobby is traveling around Japan and foreign countries and going to the gym for exercise.
I would like to work as a guide as long as possible if I’m in good health and my legs are strong, because I love this job.
I put my importance on the mind of OMOTENASHI which means sincere hospitality, though safety during the tour takes precedence, number one priority, before anything else.

Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Skytree, Asakusa, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya The guests were a group from North America. When I arrived at the Hotel, everyone was just completing check-in at the reception, so we were able to meet up right away. Since they had wished to visit Tokyo Skytree from the beginning, I made a reservation in advance in a way that included payment for my own ticket. As expected, the reaction was excellent, and they took many photos. After visiting the observation deck, they also did some shopping at Tokyo Solamachi, so the visit ended up taking quite a long time. In Asakusa, the tempura restaurant I usually use was fully booked, so I took them to a sushi restaurant instead, which was also fairly well received. Because we spent a considerable amount of time in the first half, I gave a slightly shortened explanation at Meiji Shrine. Finally, I let them enjoy free time in Shibuya, and we parted ways at the Scramble Crossing.

I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.

What Is a Private Kanazawa Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided the guests visiting from Oceania. At the samurai residence, they were delighted by the beautiful garden and the raised tatami room. For lunch, we had Noto beef at a restaurant near Omicho, and they were very pleased with how delicious it was. At Kenrokuen Garden, they enjoyed the moss and the plum blossoms that had begun to bloom. They seemed to appreciate the traditional architecture of Kanazawa Castle. In the Higashi Chaya District, I showed them the elegant rooms of Shima. The guests were interested in Japan's historical buildings, gardens, and traditional crafts, and the Noto beef at lunch seemed to become a real favorite of theirs.

I majored in civil engineering at a college and am interested in historical infrastructures. I have also guided foreign people around Ishikawa Prefecture, Toyama Prefecture, Gifu Prefecture, and Fukui Prefecture as an international activity of an English circle. I was a volunteer interpreter at the training camp for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in 2021.

Hokuriku region has a lot of sightseeing spots as follows, beautiful landscapes like Kenrokuen Garden and Tateyama, tasty food like traditional Kaga dishes and fresh seafood from Toyama Bay, traditional crafts like Kaga Yuzen dyeing, Takaoka copperware, and Inami woodcarving. I introduce these spots and historical infra tourism such as Kurobe dam and industrial tourism.

I also work as a translator. I translated the Japanese firefly squid tourism pamphlet into English in 2020.

What Is a Private Himeji Castle Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. They did not appear at the meeting point, and although I contacted them via a messaging app, my messages were read but went unanswered. Afterwards, I received word through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) that the guests were waiting at the south exit of JR Himeji Station. (In our prior confirmation, it had been the north exit.) I headed to the south exit but could not find them, and later received an email saying they were waiting at the north exit. The tour started about 30 minutes late. It turned out that the messaging app belonged to one of the guests who had not been checking it, while the email account belonged to another. One of the guests had trouble with their knees; walking was mostly fine, but stairs were difficult, so we proceeded at a somewhat slower pace. This guest had recently watched a TV drama set in the samurai era and was very interested in the historical circumstances of that time, asking many detailed questions at Himeji Castle. The guests also seemed to have a very favorable impression of Japan, and were delighted with the drawstring pouch I presented as a gift. (It was handmade by a family member of mine.) One of the guests had a great interest in plants and viewed Koko-en Garden with much enthusiasm. They also seemed very satisfied with the coffee at a local coffee shop we stopped by. After this tour, they planned to travel by cruise ship from the Port of Kobe, heading toward North America. In Kobe, they also planned to enjoy Kobe beef at a restaurant I recommended. The guests mentioned that they had traveled all over the world.

I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
explanation for these three foods.

1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good

Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Tokyo Like from Meiji Shrine to Asakusa? A Licensed Guide's Report The meeting was originally scheduled for 10:30, but on the morning of the tour the guests contacted me to say that their cruise check-out had finished early and they wanted to start the tour at 9:30. They also mentioned that their hotel was a different property than initially noted. We started the tour at 9:30. The guests were visiting from North America. They said that Meiji Shrine was beautiful. There were not so many people crossing at the Shibuya crossing, but they enjoyed it. In Asakusa, in addition to Sensoji Temple, they ate ningyo-yaki at Nakamise, saw early-blooming cherry blossoms at Sumida Park, and took photos. They loved the okonomiyaki and teppanyaki lunch, saying they would not have been able to find such a restaurant on their own. Since it began to rain a little, I guided them to Shin-Nakamise, which has an arcade and is enjoyable in the rain, explained how to get back to their hotel, and ended the tour. The guests said they wanted to continue enjoying Asakusa on their own afterward.
