From there the group visited Kamakura Hachimangu Shrine at 10:00, Hokokuji Temple at 11:00, Move from Kamakura Station, visit the Great Buddha at 13:00 and Hasedera Temple, move to Kamakura Station, disband at 14:00.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Daigakumae to Jomyoji by bus (220JPY); Jomyoji to Hachimangu by bus (220JPY); Kamakura Station to Hase by train (200JPY); Hase to Kamakura Station by train (200JPY). Across 4 sections the fare came to 840JPY per person.
What Is a Private Day Tour of Kamakura Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting from Europe, and the weather in Kamakura was wonderful, bright, and clear, making it a perfect day for sightseeing. They enjoyed Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Hokokuji Temple, the Great Buddha, and Hasedera Temple. Although the cherry blossom season had ended, the flowers were still beautiful, and we were very lucky. One of the guests eagerly took many photos of the Enoden train (I imagine they may have been comparing it to trams back home). Another of the guests was delighted by the fresh greenery and the flowers, and repeatedly said how satisfied they were, which made me very happy.

Our guide, Kappa-san, modified the typical Hakone tour to accommodate our interests, and is very helpful and knowledgeable. Since the day was very hot (95°F / 35°C) we favored activities that were more shaded or cool, including a walk on a cedar-lined section of the old Tokaido path.

Kappa, our guide met us at the train station and took us all over Kamakura. We saw shrines, the big Buddha, gardens, and the Oceanside! Kappa shared a lot of history about Kamakura, and it was nice to have this background when we were exploring these incredible sites! Highly recommend!
