Title: What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like for Families? A Licensed Guide's Report on Gion, Nijo Castle, and Arashiyama The guests this time were a group visiting Japan from North America. Prior communication was carried out between one of the guests and me. It was the group's first family trip to Japan, and because of a busy schedule, they were planning only a short stay of about a week. The itinerary was set as a fairly standard course: Gion → Nijo Castle → Arashiyama (Tenryu-ji Temple, the Bamboo Grove, and Togetsukyo Bridge). On the day of the tour, the temperature rose from the morning to what almost felt like early summer. The younger members of the group walked energetically in T-shirts, and I also took off my jacket and spent the entire day in just a dress shirt. The guests all had a deep interest in Japanese culture, history, and nature, and everywhere we visited they listened attentively to my explanations and asked many questions. Unfortunately, the cherry blossoms that the guests had been looking forward to had barely bloomed, which was very disappointing both for the guests and for me as their guide. Since they were planning to go sightseeing in Osaka the next day, I encouraged them as we parted, saying, "I hope the cherry blossoms will have started to bloom at Osaka Castle Park."

Hi, everyone! I’m Norifumi Kamon, a government registered guide interpreter. Please call me “Nori”, or “Kamon-san”.
Let me introdece myself. I was born on April 17th in 1952 in Miyazaki prefecture in Kyushu island. I used to be an English teacher of Osaka Prefectural high school. When I retired from a teacher ten years ago, I decided to get a professional guide license. I wanted to play a role of the bridge between Japanese people and the people from all over the world as a second life of mine. After two years efforts, I finally got the guide license. Since then, I have guided several handreds of foreign people mainly in Kyoto and Nara for about five years except Corona Pandemic period. Almost all the tourists were deeply impressed by the beauty of nature, traditoin, culture, and art of Japan. I can surely help you enjoy and be satisfied with the sightseeing in Japan. And I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.

Title: What's a Private One-Day Family Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Shinjuku Gyoen The guests were a family group. It took some time for them to get ready, so we started about 15 minutes later than planned. Since they had no particular destinations in mind, I recommended Tsukiji and Asakusa, and because they were also interested in cherry blossoms, I added Shinjuku Gyoen to the itinerary. They had already toured Kyoto, but I tried to make the temples and shrines more hands-on and experiential so the day would stay engaging throughout. At Senso-ji, one of the guests drew a "great blessing" fortune and was delighted, and as they love strawberries, they enjoyed the food at both Tsukiji and Asakusa. Along the way, one of the guests expressed interest in buying a kitchen knife, so I took them to Kappabashi and we looked around about three shops, though in the end they decided not to buy one. By this point everyone was quite tired (in Kyoto they had used taxis for almost everything), but fortunately they were revitalized when we finally headed to Shinjuku Gyoen and saw cherry blossoms in nearly full bloom. We even encountered beautiful moments when gusts of wind created showers of falling petals, and everyone took many photos and was moved by the scenery. Afterward they planned to go shopping in Ginza, so we said goodbye at the exit. They were a very close-knit family, and it was heartwarming and enjoyable to spend the day with them (I have rarely been asked to take so many photos). Today I managed to get through the day by taking medicine to prevent hay fever.

Nice to meet you. I am delighted to introduce myself. My nickname is Danda. I live in Saitama prefecture next to Tokyo, but I was brought up in Kanazawa, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan. My favorite things are bonsai and hiking. Also, I have been a big fun of history and sumo since my childhood. As for the guide, I have enjoyed making communication with foreign visitors since 2019. I have taken more than 30 private groups to not only major scenic spots but also their favorite places such as tea ceremony, maid cafe, sumo tournament, bonsai village, fire ritual and so on. I can arrange the original tour based on your requests and curiosity. It will be only for you. I look forward to meeting you soon. Thank you.

Title: What Is a Private Himeji Castle and Kobe Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Some of them had visited Japan before, and one of the guests had unforgettable memories of Himeji Castle from a visit long ago and very much wanted to share it with a younger member of the group, so we arranged the tour with an additional fee. Everyone was deeply impressed by its scale. Since it began to rain in the afternoon, we changed the plan and visited the Kiku-Masamune Sake Museum. After the rain stopped, we headed for the summit of Mount Rokko, but it was covered in fog and nothing could be seen, so I took the guests to a requested Kobe beef restaurant and we parted ways there. They were very pleased with the day, including lunch.

Thanks for joining our tour. I’m Hiro Nakagawa, assigned to be your guide for this tour. I was eligible as a National Licensed Tour Guide in 2017. I have guided many tourists from overseas since then. Japan is a beautiful country with full of various attractions. Please enjoy your time in this country to the fullest. I will help you with that. What are you interested in this country? I will introduce this country’s long history, traditional culture, beautiful seasonal highlights, and delicious food to you. Please let me know your preferences. If it’s other than which I mentioned, I’m preparing it for you as much as possible. Let’s enjoy the trip together!

What Is a Private Family Tour of Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from another region. After spending four days in Tokyo, they traveled to Hiroshima. Some of the guests were interested in Japanese culture and already had some knowledge of it. They asked questions about the history of Buddhism, Shinto, and related topics, and seemed both satisfied and surprised by the explanations. I feel the rest of the group enjoyed the tour as well. I guided them to a restaurant and had lunch together before we parted ways. The following day, I was scheduled to guide them around the city of Hiroshima again.

My name is Tsukumoto. I have been living in Hiroshima for about 60 years and have a great deal of knowledge on Hiroshima. I had worked in chemical industry for 44 years as an engineer having some experiences dealing with the oversea business. After retiring, I have been working as an English staff for helping tourists enjoy Japanese traditional culture activities such as tea ceremony, calligraphy, and wearing kimono since 2023. Besides that, I am familiar with tourist spots, history of the domain, local food, and night life in down town. They mentioned that the members of the group now live in different places, so they were happy to be able to come together again on this trip. As planned in advance, we visited Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and Asakusa. On the subway, they were very impressed by how clean and convenient it was. At each spot, the guests were very interested in history and asked many questions about samurai, shoguns, and the imperial family. The guests were also very much looking forward to shopping and asked me about recommended cosmetics shops and sweets shops. We finished with a late lunch, where I guided them to an okonomiyaki restaurant, and the tour ended in Asakusa.

What Is a Private Cruise Port Day Tour of Kobe Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The group of guests arrived in Japan by cruise ship from the Caribbean. They tended to gather earlier than the meeting time, which made things very easy. Since the originally planned Sorakuen Garden is closed on Wednesdays, we visited a Japanese garden at a park located a little farther away. It was a splendid, elaborately designed Japanese garden, and the guests were very satisfied. At Ikuta Shrine, one of the guests tried the water fortune-telling for which this shrine is famous, and drew "great fortune," which delighted them. We moved from Nankinmachi to the Mosaic area for lunch. Even after lunch, everyone gathered five minutes early. After a sake brewery visit, on the way back to the port terminal, the guests wished to do some shopping, so we parted ways at the Motomachi Shopping Street. The photo was taken at the Mosaic in Harborland.

I was born and grew up in Kyoto and now live near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I used to be a schoolteacher of English and welcome a lot of students from foreign countries. I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people. I myself enjoyed several sports, such as soccer, judo, and marathon when I was young. I’m much interested in baseball and sumo. My motto as a tour guide is to let my guests learn about our tradition and culture precisely and really enjoy themselves. I strongly hope you will enjoy the tour in Japan with me.

Can You Do a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Covering Shinjuku, Harajuku, and Shibuya? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from Oceania. One of the guests had visited Japan several times before for travel, while the others were visiting for the first time. This time they were staying in Japan for a period. The following day they planned to explore Asakusa and the eastern part of Tokyo on their own. The day after that they planned to visit Disneyland. After that they intended to travel around Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and Hiroshima, before returning to Tokyo and then heading home. The tour took place under clear skies. First, we went to the observation deck at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a spring haze, so we were unable to see Mount Fuji. Still, one of the guests commented, "I really understand now that Tokyo is a vast, sprawling city." After that, we moved to the east side. We strolled through Kabukicho, Omoide Yokocho, and Golden Gai. The guests commented, "It's noisier than the west side," and "It's similar to Ikebukuro." They took photos of the "Godzilla Head" and the "3D cat screen." We then moved to Harajuku. First, we visited Meiji Shrine. I explained about the torii gates, the Meiji Restoration and the history of Edo and Tokyo, and about Emperor Meiji. I also explained the differences between Buddhism and Shinto. There was also a question, "How many Christians are there in Japan?" Within the shrine grounds, we came across a wedding procession and took photos. The guests remarked, "It's wonderful that there is such a green park right in the center of the city." From here, we moved to Takeshita Street and Cat Street. Some of the guests loved vintage clothing, so we browsed through many shops and they made a large number of purchases. We moved to Shibuya. I explained about the history of Shibuya. We walked across "Shibuya Scramble Square," and took commemorative photos in front of the Hachiko statue. There were questions such as, "Why are there so many people at the scramble crossing?" and "Are they all locals?" After this, the guests said, "We want to eat sushi," so we went to a sushi restaurant in Shibuya. They also commented, "The people passing by are so quiet and polite," and "There's no trash on the streets." They also noted, "The trains and subways are clean and quiet." I saw them off at Ikebukuro Station, and we parted ways.

What's a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour from Kobe Port Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were visitors from North America. They had traveled all over the world and appeared to be seasoned travelers. They arrived at Kobe Port by cruise ship and came to Kyoto. The weather was fine, and at Kinkaku-ji, the reflection of the Golden Pavilion on the pond was very beautiful. At Nijo Castle, perhaps because it was around midday, we were able to look around at a relaxed pace despite the crowds. I had been worried about how busy the lunch spot, the Yukiya Pontocho main branch, would be, but it was not crowded, so the guests were able to enjoy their meal at a relaxed pace and were very pleased. What Is a Private Takamatsu Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report This was a private guided tour in Takamatsu for guests from North America. Both were very kind and friendly, which made them easy to guide. Some of the guests had visited Tokyo and Osaka several times before and had a good familiarity with Japan, and one spoke Japanese with clear and natural pronunciation. Throughout the tour, they listened very attentively to my explanations, which made guiding them truly rewarding. At lunchtime, the first restaurant I had planned to visit happened to be closed for the day, so I took them to another place that I sometimes go to myself. One of the guests praised the bukkake udon topped with shrimp tempura as the best udon they had ever tasted. It turned out to be a fortunate mistake, as I was able to bring them to such a good restaurant. The weather was fine, and they seemed to enjoy Takamatsu just as it was approaching cherry blossom season. I am also grateful to have received a high rating.

Hello. My name is Hisao Kaji. I was born in 1945. I was raised in Takamatsu City from 3 years old. So, I have been living in Takamatsu for around 75 years. I believe I know Takamatsu City and the Kagawa prefecture area very well. If you come to Takamatsu, Kagawa I think you can enjoy your tour with me. I started a Government Licensed Guide in 2019. So, I have been a licensed guide for about 5 years. My favorite destinations are Naoshima, Teshima, Ritsurin Garden, the top of Mt. Yashima and so on. I always show you an itinerary about one month before your tour date, and I will accept any questions, other favorite places you want to visit. Communicating with you, I would like to accommodate your request for your tour. I always listen to NPR on the internet to know how the world is moving and improve my English. I like conversation based upon it with my life. I stayed in the USA for 8 months for a Power Systems Engineering Course conducted by General Electric in New York State when I was 28 years old. I sometimes talk about my memory of those days with the guests. I am very happy to guide tourists because I can see the guests become happy and enjoy themselves when I am guiding better. Nothing is more wonderful than that. I welcome your visit to Takamatsu City and Kagawa Prefecture. I believe you will have a pleasant time through my guide.

What Can You See on a Private Tour of Ueno, Asakusa, and Shibuya in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided two friends from the group during a private tour in Tokyo, while another member of the group stayed at the hotel. Since one of the guests was returning home on a flight that evening, we enjoyed the cherry blossoms in Ueno Park and visited Toshogu Shrine. The guests enjoyed taking commemorative photos in front of the cherry blossoms, which were mainly weeping cherry trees. One of the guests was very outgoing and even took photos for other tourists. In Asakusa, they purchased souvenirs such as a yukata. At a restaurant in Asakusa, the two shared fried shrimp and a cherry cream anmitsu. During the meal, one of the guests jokingly said they would marry me if I were single. At Shibuya SKY, they enjoyed the overwhelming views.
