Title: What Is a Private Ise Jingu Tour Like for Guests Interested in Japanese Swords? A Licensed Guide's Report The person who made the booking was based in Asia and involved in cultural exchange, and another member of the group had come to Japan from Oceania to study Japanese swords, so I explained Ise Jingu's connection to swords and sacred treasures. I believe the guests were able to feel a great deal from the special atmosphere of Ise Jingu. The guests also had a distinctive culture related to animism, and I think they gained fresh insight into the commonalities with Ise Jingu and Shinto. Since my knowledge of swords was not deep, I studied in advance after being contacted beforehand and prepared for the tour accordingly.

What's a Private Nara Day Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. Since rain was forecast for the afternoon, we discussed finishing the tour a little earlier than planned. In the morning, a light rain was falling steadily. I thought the uphill climb to Nigatsu-do Hall might be a bit difficult in the rain, so I suggested skipping it, but one of the guests strongly wished to go, so we went. As we made our way, the rain stopped and patches of blue sky began to appear. We were then also able to visit the Heijo Palace ruins. I am sure it turned out to be a fulfilling tour.

What's a Private Day Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Arashiyama, Kinkaku-ji, and Fushimi Inari The guests were visiting Kyoto from Oceania. They had wanted to visit Otagi Nenbutsu-ji in the Sagano area ever since seeing a photo of its rakan statues in a travel magazine. They had also hoped to see a bamboo grove, but since they were satisfied with the bamboo grove at Adashino Nenbutsu-ji, we decided not to visit the crowded Bamboo Grove Path, which saved us some time. After visiting Kinkaku-ji, we had a light lunch at the food court of a shopping mall in Kitaoji before heading to Fushimi Inari. After touring Fushimi Inari, I guided the guests to Keihan Sanjo Station near the Hotel, and the tour concluded.

What's a Private Family-Friendly Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Harajuku The guests were a very cheerful group visiting from North America. They were very interested in Japanese food, culture, and anime, and wanted to try a variety of experiences. Although many shops at Tsukiji Market were closed on Wednesday, the guests enjoyed eating sashimi and drinking green tea. At the depachika (basement food floor) of Mitsukoshi, they also purchased items such as shrimp crackers. Since I introduced them to a stationery store as well, they said they would like to come back to shop again another day. For lunch we had ramen in Asakusa, and everyone finished their bowls, saying the soup was delicious. After the tour, they mentioned they wanted to visit an animal cafe on Takeshita Street. It was a very enjoyable tour.

Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizu-dera The guests were visiting from North America. At Fushimi Inari, both drew omikuji fortunes, receiving results that turned from bad to good and from a small blessing to a great one. On Sannenzaka slope, one of the guests had a matcha latte at ARABICA, and another bought a clear vinyl umbrella with a "%" mark. Apart from that, they did no other shopping. Since the guests both seemed to be in good health, at Fushimi Inari we climbed all the way up to Kumataka-sha. The approach to Kiyomizu-dera was less crowded than expected, and we went up via Chawanzaka. As they said they would eat anything for lunch, I checked two places and we settled on Ukiya, which had space available. One of the guests had zaru soba served with tempura and was delighted, saying the tempura was delicious. We caught a bit of rain along the way, but that was far better than blazing sunshine, and the photos turned out well since the contrast of light was not too harsh.

I’m Ryoichi Kazuma and my nickname is “Kazz”. I live in Kyotanabe city next to Kyoto city. I want guests to enjoy Kyoto by seeing and experiencing not only from outside but also from inside. I offer various information from daily matters to traditional cultures. Most destinations in Kyoto are located on the eastern side or the western side. As I want to guide guests to as many destinations as possible, I make an efficient itinerary and recommend a taxi use to save time. Additionally, I take pictures at various spots and finally share the link to my storage. By doing so, guests can download their favorite pictures from my storage. Please enjoy Kyoto night and day!

It was their first time trying raw fish, but they bravely took on the challenge of tuna sushi. Some of the guests were delighted by strawberries and melon, and they purchased matcha powder, Japanese tea, and personalized chopsticks with their names. On Takeshita Street, they enjoyed the animal cafés and said they would return after the tour. They were deeply moved by the forest of Meiji Shrine and became interested in Shinto and other aspects of Japanese religion. In Shibuya, they viewed the Shibuya crossing they had been looking forward to from above, then walked across it and enjoyed it very much. What's a Private Tokyo Tour Like for Repeat Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Ginza The guests were from the Middle East. Having a professional background that involved frequent business connections with Japan, they had visited Japan several times before. When they tried to purchase admission tickets at the Tokyo National Museum, they discovered they qualified for free admission based on their age. Their posture was so good that it was hard to imagine their age. However, since one of the guests seemed to have back pain, I deliberately kept the walking pace quite slow and minimized the walking distance as much as possible. They were also looking for a particular pain-relief patch purchased overseas (the same product name, but containing a local anesthetic ingredient that is not permitted in over-the-counter medicines in Japan). We could not find it at a large pharmacy right outside the Nitenmon Gate of Sensoji Temple, so we visited several large pharmacies with dispensing counters around Ueno Station. After consulting with a pharmacist, it turned out that the ingredient cannot be purchased without a prescription in Japan. I recommended an equivalent product from another manufacturer, but they wished to keep using their usual product, so the matter was resolved by having a family member abroad purchase it for them. At the first destination, Tsukiji, they seemed overwhelmed. After strolling through the crowded streets for about 10 minutes, they were satisfied. They wished to purchase a custom-made souvenir — a small wooden piece with a strap engraved with their names in Japanese (based on pronunciation) — but gave up on it since it would take about 45 minutes to complete. Next, at Asakusa, they did not wish to draw omikuji fortunes or climb the stairs to view the interior of the main hall, but they took many commemorative photos together. They also experienced the purification fountain, and at the incense burner right next to it, when I explained "the smoke here is believed to heal ailing parts of the body," one of the guests earnestly wafted the smoke toward themselves and the other guest. At Asakusa Shrine, they were able to worship without climbing any stairs. Experiencing a shrine visit for the first time, the guests were very pleased. At Kappabashi, they seemed to be looking for high-quality lacquerware but could not find items of the level they wanted. I explained that such items are more likely to be sold at long-established department stores. Since they would also spend about four days in Kyoto after Tokyo, they decided to look forward to future opportunities there. Finally, since they planned to leisurely enjoy shopping in Ginza on their own before heading to their hotel, we said goodbye a bit early in front of the Ginza UNIQLO. Also, since the guests took many commemorative photos together, I helped with taking photos on their smartphone.

What Can You See on a Private Tokyo Day Tour of Shibuya, Shinjuku Gyoen, Akihabara, and Meiji Shrine? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. They had arrived in Japan the day before and seemed a little tired, but they showed interest at each place we visited and we were able to complete the tour smoothly. First, at the hotel, I explained the origin of Hachiko, and then we walked to the front of Shibuya Station, where we took photos at the Hachiko statue and the scramble crossing. At Shinjuku Gyoen, the guests took great interest in the various flowering trees and thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese garden while taking photos. Next, in Akihabara, they bought souvenirs for their family. Moving on to Harajuku, I explained the origins of Meiji Shrine, and then we passed through the torii gate and proceeded to the main hall, with commentary along the way, and paid our respects. Finally, we returned to Shibuya Station, near the hotel, and ended the tour. This private one-day tour of Tokyo was arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides, serving all 47 prefectures.

I am a certified guide-interpreter based in Tokyo.
I was born and raised in Tokyo, so I am familiar with Tokyo and its surrounding areas. Please leave anything related to the Tokyo area to me.
Tokyo is not only full of Japanese charm but also has many unique aspects.
The always-bustling Tsukiji Outer Market conveys Japan’s food culture.
Asakusa conveys Japanese traditions and culture through old temples, shrines and long-established stores.
    Shibuya spreads Japanese pop culture.
You can immerse yourself in history and culture in the quiet natural surroundings such as the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace or Meiji Shrine.
Tokyo is a treasure trove of attractions for travelers. Please come and experience the wonderful Tokyo with me.

Kyoto in One Day: Iwatayama Monkey Park & Kinkaku-ji Visit

    • 10:00-11:10 Iwatayama Monkey Park
    • 11:10-12:30 Arashiyama Stroll (Togetsukyo Bridge, Tenryu-ji Garden [Sogenchi Garden, Hyakkaen], Bamboo Grove, Nonomiya Shrine, Kimono Forest)

    • 14:20-15:00 Kinkaku-ji Visit
    • 15:00 Tour ends. Since the customer wished to stay at Kinkaku-ji to apply for a goshuin (temple seal), we said goodbye just before the exit.

What's a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Arashiyama and Kinkaku-ji The guests were a group visiting from Europe. It was their first time in Kyoto. We visited the Iwatayama Monkey Park, strolled around Arashiyama (the Togetsukyo Bridge, the garden at Tenryu-ji Temple, the bamboo grove, Nonomiya Shrine, and the Kimono Forest), and after having a meal in Arashiyama, I took them to Kinkaku-ji Temple. Their top request was the Monkey Park, so I made sure we had plenty of time there. The sky was cloudy and it was not too hot, so I believe the summit felt very pleasant. They enjoyed watching the monkeys. What surprised me was that one of the younger guests aspired to work in design in the future and had studied Japanese architecture very well. They were familiar with the background of wooden architecture, as well as beams and timber-frame techniques used for earthquake-resistant structures. Understandably, they were not familiar with gegyo (decorative gable pendants). After Kinkaku-ji, since the guests planned to visit Ryoan-ji Temple on their own, I briefly explained during lunch how to enjoy the rock garden. It rained a little, but not too heavily, so I believe it was a comfortable tour.

What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Kinkaku-ji, and Sanjusangendo The guests were visitors from Oceania. As it was their first time in Japan, we visited Fushimi Inari, Kinkaku-ji, and Sanjusangendo. The guests were very cheerful and talkative. Since one of them had slightly injured a foot (perhaps a sprain) just a couple of days earlier, we made a point of using escalators and elevators as much as possible. The guests also enjoyed taking photos, and kindly took pictures including me and sent them to me. At Fushimi Inari, they were particularly fond of the story about the Gonden (temporary shrine). When I asked which of the distinctive spots—Kinkaku-ji and Sanjusangendo—they liked best, they said they could not choose just one, as all of them were wonderful. I was glad they enjoyed the tour so much.
